The tubes and bottles clanged together while the body bags rumbled in back of the old hearse. The bodies weren't dead, merely paraylized by poisons that kept them in a state close to suspended animation. They were two formerly strong men, from the criminal element of Durem, but certainly no one that would be missed. The tubes were long preserved human remains deep from within the temple. Nothing like a little gift for good neighbors.

Yarneth drove the old hearse himself, no one living had to know what he was up to, and if his offer was rejected he could incinerate the bodies with a mere touch and return the other items to his personal collection. It had been a little while since he had taken over the Yaits insurance agency. Court setlements, stock manipulation, silent assasinations, the reorganization of experiments, and driving the expansion of a mid-sized company had kept him so busy for the past month that it was actually nice to take a little drive through the countryside. If the information he had received was correct, he might even make some new friends here.

A rented hearse pulled up to the gates of Sorrow's Keep. In this desolate area nothing else would do. The dead branches of the dried tree snapped as a heavy gale blew across the lawn. Yarneth walked calmly up the walk, and knocked on the door politely. The dark energy was delectable, just being here made him feel alive.

"I'm Edward Yaits," Yarneth said, "But my true name is Yarneth, I am an incarnation possesed by the spirit of Ymir. I bear gifts, noting fancy, but I wish to participate if you'll let me. If not, I must respect that, this is afterall, a diplomatic visit."

Yarneth waited as the wind howled and black aura seemed to seep from the lifeless soil of the Keep's yard. He lifted up his right hand and extended its fingers. From the pointer finger came a tall wisp of flame, from his middles finger a long buble of liquid air, from his ring finger a wisp of darkness, and from his little finger a swirling tornado. He put each out with his thumb and repeated the process while he waited.

And as knuckles struck wood, the door creaked open ever so slightly. There was nothing there, nobody in the rins of the keep, no guards watching the doors. It was simply abandoned, as everyone would know it to be.

Finding Sorrow's Keep itself was not a hard task, as it was a landmark of the land and all, easily found with the use of a map. However, gaining entry into the underground lairs of the cult would be something else entirely, as it simply didnt appear that there was a definate way through the underground to the vast labyrinth of caverns and tunnels controlled by the dark order.

"We could use drankards and hobos, but that would be relatively simple and one can probably do it themselves. Nobody would miss them, and nobody would defend them"

Decruda spoke as he stared at the violet flame in the center of the room, his oddly inverted-coloured eyes reflected the light.

"So what do you have in mind?" he asked the gypsie, asking her to continue. He was rather confident in his abilities and the abilities of others in the cult, and did not worry much about large resistances standing up against them. Those that came instead of ran would be like cattle willingly walking into the butchery, and if they were somehow overpowered, they can always retreat and take whatever they had got so far.

They were letting him in, not a bad sign to start, not a bad sign at all. He walked in the first room. Layers of dust climbing from where his black Armani shoes hit the creaky floor. It was dark, so he lit a fire to light his way, the flames extending in great plumes from his fingertips. He breathed the structures aura, this place had it's own wonderful life, like the catacombs of his temple. Now to explore, to get where he intended to go, he needed to only follow the aura to it's source. The stronger the aura, the closer he was to his destination, he supposed.

"Well, what about the rest of you?" She was going to wait for the others to voice their opinions, because she could care less. The more the merrier, but the group that always travelled with her was enough to suit her basic needs.

Menos retracted his hand accross the table, leaving a faint blood smear accross the surface. He spoke to no one in particular, addressing everyone as he released his words.

"...Homeless individuals are too easy of a target. A single member of this council would easily obtain the desired specimans from this area. If we are indeed going to raid together...I suggest we go for something a bit more...worthwhile..."

He tapped his finger's irritably on the table.

"...Unless of course somenone's frightened..."

"Fear is something only mortals feel. The dead fear nothing. There is nothing left to fear."

Darshe drummed his fingertips on the table, growing just a little impatient. He was ready to wreak some havok, and didn't want to spend all this time sitting in here, debating over who or what should be attacked. It still hasn't been made clear exactly what kind of specimens they were looking for, as if it were an easy thing to do to capture a creature of magnificent power to use as a guinea pig. He knew better, though. It was one of his many secrets he didn't feel inclined to share with the rest of the crowd.

"What exactly are we looking for?" Darsh asked, giving some voice to his earlier thoughts. "You say we need more specimens, but then everyone wants to be picky about it."

Gavin looked up once more, a toad with a rat tail now sitting upon the table in front of him. The mouse had been dismembered, and he was beginning to graft one of the wings onto the toad out of boredom.

"Only an imbecile moves without caution. I need more parts for my experiments, but I could steal children from their beds for that little. Any of us could, that is the point."

Gavin cut a slit down the back of the toad, looking away from the rest of the table again as he began stitching the muscles together with those of the pidgeon wing.

Menos turned his attention to the man whom had just spoken.

"Gavin is right, one can never loose forethought, in life or in death..."

Gavin, the man was a genious...if not a little crazy. Of course, who wasn't crazy nowadays.

"I need only bones for the majority of my work...more bones the better... I still say we run a raid on one of the towns above. This of course, is soley my opinion...what are your thoughts everyone..."

"My master requires speciments for test subjects and energy to fuel the production of new spells," Decruda answered, where the 'energy' most commonly associated with creating new spells by necromancers involved blood or souls, "I, on the other hand, need body parts, healthy ones preferably, or better yet, from strong speciments." he added, not adding the reason to this, as many would know, he did quite a bit of grafting himself, only it was on his own maimed body rather than others.

"That and with the constant feeding of the ghoul hordes, carrion and fresh meat, whether from live subjects or dead ones, isnt a benefit to the situation." he noted in addition.

"Hobos and drunkards could certainly serve as feed for the hordes, low quality, easy prey. However, I believe it best if we took something of at least average quality for test subjects and parts, civilians, merchants, guards, or even better yet, those with power in their bodies."

Gavin spoke up again, hearing the input of the others finally. One wing had already been hastily grafted on, and the other was in position with a needle already through the toad's skin.

"I need more parts, living or dead. Some of you need living subjects, some of you need only dead. I mustn't have to remind you that we are not 'walking the dog', and I'll not waste my time with this simply to feed your pets."

He cut the string, no longer interested in grafting that second wing to the toad, and instead he released the paralysis that had been placed upon it; the toad had been kept alive... in a manner of speaking, barely clinging to life as Gavin rearranged it in ways no god had ever intended. Now that it was free its first instinct was to flee, yet it could do little with the hamstrings of its hind legs cut, and only one wing.

Descant went back to watching Gavin, with all of her concentration actually on the toad that he was working with.

"I think all of this answers the question then: we're going to launch a planned attack together. Now, the question is where we should appear that would have enough strong bodies show up."

After a moment's thought, she held her hand out to Gavin. "Are you done with that yet?"

Darsh leaned back in his chair, listening to the others. It seemed that it's been decided that an entire town would be attacked afterall, which meant he would have to use a portion of his hordes to aid in the battle - or he could just be a force to be reckoned with by himself. He glanced over at Gavin, still playing with the frog that was no longer a frog. Was that really necessary, he wondered, looking at the mess. He made a half-hearted shrug, then leaned forward to rest his elbows on the table.

"The closest town would be the most ideal target, then work our way out farther if it doesn't provide what we all need. The more corpses the better, I say. I'll likely need replacements for my horde anyway."

The Knight just kept quiet. He wasn't one of the scientests, and nor did he care enough about his stock of unholy beasts to voice his concerns about them being fed. If anything they could eat each other, the flesh of your own made you stronger, and the Knight felt much more comfortable with a small group of things he knew could perform, rather then your basic mindless horde of wavering zombies.

None of these opinions were voiced though, he wasn't in the mood for discussion. Whatever decision the group arrived upon, he would go with. If there was a vote, he'd side with the majority. Well, as long as the majority were looking for a city raid. He hadn't had one of those since the disaster in Latent. They just couldn't stop that count.

All in all, his blade thirsted for blood, and that was the will he would be following.

Some trap doors, many staircases, the continued spiraling downwards inot a vast dungeon complex. It reminded him of him of home. Instead of weaving through the maze for hours, he left the wind carry his feet, swiftly landing him in front of the door of the room where he detected the aura of five creatures, at least one of which was undead. He could smell the rotting flesh. There was always the posibility he could be considered more food than friend, in that case he planned to be generous and escape, but he would take his tokens and his offers with them and leave them bruised for their efforts. The last thing you ever did with ilk of this character is show anything resembling weakness. He knocked on the wooden door into the dimly lit room, and to get their attention, he stomped his foot, the most miniscule earthquake shook Sorrows Keep, only powerful enough to rattle the few dry bones lying around the dungeon. He wanted to work out a mutually beneficial relationship, but if they had ideas about using him for material, they would swiftly learn that he wasn't worth the effort.

After a moment's thought, she held her hand out to Gavin. "Are you done with that yet?"

"Are you planning on eating it, my pretty?"

Gavin laughed... that statement might have been true for any number of the attendees here.
