"I ain't in ta men so don't even get any ideas," Freddie snapped. She realized what that sounded like a moment too late, so she quickly tried to turn it around. "Besides," she gestured at Jordan. "With hair like that, and those ********' sunglasses... It's pretty damn obvious you are."

Jordan was uncomfortable with his sexuality being brought into question. He wouldn’t give Freddie that satisfaction of knowing either way. He didn’t like her tone. Before he could muster a retort, the barrage began anew, with fervor.
He pointed his finger and pursed his lips in agitation. “There’s nothing wrong with having something called style. Some of us care about appearances.” There. That was good. And at least it was partially true. He did like to look good.

Freddie scoffed. "Nah, nuh-uh, that whole 'metrosexual' bullshit's just fer people in denial!"

“Metrosexuals wish they could look as good as I do,” he smirked wryly at her.
Fine. She wanted to keep pushing him, then he wasn’t gonna stand there like her punching bag. “I’m not in denial about anything- especially not that.” Jordan rubbed his thumb and forefinger along the bridge of his nose and the corners of his eyes. “I just don’t go flaunting everything about my life like it’s a shiny gold watch.”
He gritted his teeth and gave her a stare. “Some people aren’t intelligent enough to deal with mature matters like an adult and I’d hate to get into an incident with someone who didn’t have even the most basic social skills to comprehend that someone could have their own mind to go against the norms that society has dictated over its mindless flock of sheep, because it’s what makes them happy.”
He cleared his throat. “Besides, you just said you don’t like men. Nice double-standard there..” he rolled his eyes and huffed indignantly. “What’s good for the goose isn’t good for the gander, right?”

It was very easy for Freddie to be yanked from one emotion to the next. She never thought to blame it on all the stress and hormones and milk, but that on top of the insecurity she was never able to acknowledge made for a dangerous mix. The cow in her had yet to emerge enough to take the edge off all that aggression and rage, and so with Jordan's last command she howled and lashed out of him.
Sure, she couldn't quite manage a fist, but those nails of hers could do plenty of damage even when clumsily raked across his face.
And her mighty warcry was, "I didn't used to be a girl you ********' moron!"

Jordan had let down his guard. The distaste on his tongue was nauseating as he spat out “Yes, as you so eloquently put it, I’m a f**." It was at that moment his face was struck with those nails, right across the cheek. He immediately jerked backwards, raising a hand to where the claws had raked flesh.
“OOOOOwwwwww!! Hey..! What the hell’s your proble—“ his word were cut off, this time by her warcry. His expression drooped in shock as he tripped over his own shoe, stumbling as he recovered.
“You WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!” his eyes practically popped out of his head, leaning forward as he caught his balance.

"Just what I said!" Freddie cried, punctuating the declation with a kick to whatever was handy. His shock only made her feel worse. Nobody would ever be able to guess no, she couldn't even count as a mannish girl anymore, just ugly and freakishly.
She just barely managed to catch his leg, and while the new shape of them could pack a punch, it sent her off balance again. Rather than allow herself fall into Jordan, Freddie staggered away. After about five steps she managed to keep herself from falling again. As she pulled herself up, she realized she was crying. Again.
"Goddamn... c** guzzling..." She wiped her eyes, and even though she remembered to use the side of her hand those hoof-like fingers still scratched her cheeks. She barely noticed, instead continuing with her nearly incoherent muttering. "Can't even see... I'm not... ********' fags..."
She shook her head, turned, and staggered back in the direction of the trees. No one could see her cry. Especially not now.
"I hope ya get the AIDS!" She yelled over her shoulder, which inadvertantly made it clear she was close to bawling. At least with that said she could feel like it hadn't been a total loss. Running was even more awkward, but she tried.

She caught him in the leg with that hoof of hers, eliciting a yelp as he fell on his butt, more startled than anything. He’d overreacted just a bit and it was partially his own fault for getting kicked. He was stunned as he watched her walk away.
“Hey.. I’m sorry.. it’s alright if you’re a transvestite. I thought you were a lesbian if it helps any.”
This’s why he never told anyone. He knew people would react to him like this. He was afraid that people would throw him to the lions, insult him, tell him they hope he gets AIDS.. Was she crying? Great… now he felt really bad. He got himself up and brushed the sand off his bottom, bridging the gap between them.
“And for your information, I’m not a tramp! I don’t just go from guy to guy pulling tricks for money and drugs. I have some pride in myself!” he was waving his finger again. “At least I won’t get AIDS from you.” He was pissed.

"You don't even get it!" Freddie said, not turning around. She was really sobbing now, and him running after her was only make it worse. She kept awkwardly running anyway. "I didn't wanna be a GIRL!" She sniffled and wiped her eyes again, adding more scratches. Her nose was even wetter for all the crying, and feeling that was another knife in her side. "******** you and your pride!"

“You didn’t want to be a girl? What the hell..?“ he arched a brow. The gears were grinding but he hadn’t quite caught on- till he remembered the udder and his eyes went wide. He gasped in revelation.
Jordan picked up the pace. In the time that it had taken to figure out that Freddie wasn’t a transvestite and that –in fact- she was experiencing the effects of her serum, she’d been able to put some distance between them.
“Hey, wait up! I feel like s**t for making you so upset..” he hated admitting that to her after what she’d been saying, but he couldn’t help himself. It was his nature to comfort others in their moments of weakness and sadness. He just wasn’t used to being the instigator of sadness, so this was definitely new.
“Say what you want about me.. I always expected people would treat me like this.. and people must react to you thoughtlessly in much the same way..” This was difficult. Jordan really didn’t know how to fix this, if even that were possible, and it was awkward for him. He was suddenly feeling himself in the role of the hypocrite.

"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Freddie shrieked, her voice echoing throught he jungle and sending more than a few birds scattering in squawking terror. She kept running, but it was hard to watch where she was going through tears. It was inevitable she'd trip over something, but she was desperately clambering to her feet as soon as she was down. All the while she kept sobbing, unable to stop now that she was good and worked up.

His eye twitched. This was getting ridiculous and he was becoming agitated. He broke into a run in his chase to catch up with her. “Wait up will you?” he yelled after her. “It’s very hard to run in pants!” He grumbled to himself.
“Hey! Tell you what! We can end this chase now and sit down and talk this out like two civil people Because, you know what?? You’re really starting to get on my nerves! You certainly could dish it out when it was on your terms, but as soon as you’re on the receiving end, you run away and cry. Some tough guy you are.” He was trying to say anything he thought would end this run-about. “******** me and my pride? At least I take pride in myself and in what I am. You can’t even do that! You’re just a coward and a bully!”

Freddie wasn't listening, it was hard to even hear what was being said over the pounding in her ears, combined with the panting and sniffling. All she could make out was the tone. Why did people always do this? It'd be a wonderful world if everyone just took their punches and stopped making her cry all the damn time. Then maybe she could feel better about herself. Right.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" She wailed, shaking her head furiously. "You don't know! You don't even ******** know!"
She took off into the jungle, completely unaware of how much she was actually running from. She didn't even know where she was going.

“I know enough to keep me alive! I know I can’t survive here on my own! Running isn’t going to make your problems magically go away. Tomorrow, you’ll be hiding from someone else and crying in self pity! You think you’ve got it bad? You’re so selfish.”
He pushed himself to catch up to her and he grabbed her by the arm, in an attempt to halt this juvenile chase, and he tugged hard on her. “Would you just stop!!” he shouted angrily at the top of his lungs. “I’m not going away just because you want me to!! NOW STOP!!”

It was coming to Freddie slowly, all the things she knew but never wanted to recognize. It hurt, worse the changes, worse than the gender swap and milk. But she still couldn't face it, she didn't want to, because that would mean acknowledging how sad and pathetic she truly was, that she'd deserved what she got after years of abusing others, just like everybody said. No way she was gonna do that, because then they'd all win. So instead there was the old fall back- get angry, lash out, because surely if you hurt the other person enough they'd be proven wrong. Surely.
That kind of warped logic had yet to fail her... As long as she didn't count all the horrible losses that had happened since she was exiled amongst the test subjects. It was getting harder and harder to deny everything, but she still had a little bit left in her, along with all the venom and rage.
Freddie didn't argue, she didn't spew forth any more slurs or insults, she was too upset for that. Her lashing out at Jordan again said plenty, and once again she went right for his face, reduced to scratching at him in typical girl fight fashion.
