WHAT IF THEY MESS UP?
SLIP WITH THE KNIFE eek

Happens all the time, to diffrent levels of extremity. My boyfriend has a scar, as many circumcised men do. And it's true, as Oni pointed out, it was quite common for doctors to mess up, and then in a disgusting and pathetic attemt to fix their mistake, they'd simply do more damage, and attemt to change the child's gender to make it more socially acceptable. This happens not only with botched circumcisions, but when a child is born with slightly deformed genitles. It angers me, I've seen programs of adults reitterating their life experiences. Surgery after surgery, emotional confusion, being forced to take hormone pills to try to force their bodies to conform to what the doctors say it should be. Alot of them have no sexual pleasure as the ones with Clitoris' had them cut off. There are no words to discribe how dispicable I consider such proceedures.

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT IS SICK

YOU HAVE ONLY DEEPENED MY HATE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THESE DECISIONS ABOUT THE CHILDS WIG-WAG (UNCOMFORTABLE WITH MOST SLANG WORDS ON THIS ONE)

KEY THINGS YOU SAID (IN NO PATICULAR ORDER....)

1 ) Happens all the time
2 ) My boyfriend has a scar, as many circumcised men do.
3 ) it was quite common for doctors to mess up,
4 ) to fix their mistake, they'd simply do more damage
5 ) change the child's gender
6 ) I've seen programs of adults reitterating their life experiences
7 ) Surgery after surgery
8 ) being forced to take hormone pills
9 ) Alot of them have no sexual pleasure

WHY DOES ANYONE DO THIS!!!!!
IF GOD WANTED THEM TO CUT IT OFF HE WOULD NOT OF PUT IT THERE
SO I DO NOT SEE WHY ANYONE WOULD DO IT

I AM SICKENED BY THIS
DEEPLY SICKENED

from another circumsision thread:

Propaganda
Where is the proof of this subconcious emotional scarring?

Also, I think males (from an aesthetic viewpoint) have it much easier than females. Males get a bit of skin lopped off at birth, females spend their entire childhood and adolescence trying to live up to the ideal of femininity and beauty.

Circumcision is an option. Most people take it, that's their choice.

Personally, if I had a male child, I don't know what I would do. I've got plenty of time to think about it.

That deeply angers me...Its not a option....Your usualy forced at birth...and not only do women have to deal w/ beauty and crap so do me yet we say hansomeness...point is i dont like curcumsision and what that person said angered me...

Sometime people older than infants get circumcised, either by choice or religion, or their family chooses it for them, etc. It's not always forced at birth.

The first time i saw an uncircumsized p***s i was like "what the hell? is it infected or something?" you see, i was circumsized at a very young age, but they believe a circumsized p***s is better mainly because of the waxy buildup that SOMETIMES ((take note of that)) occurs. but in reality, there's no difference between a circumsized and uncircumsized p***s, besides alot of extra skin that the p***s retracts into. yes, alot of nerves and other trhings are lost, but the thing of it is, they don't do too much in the pleasure process, and there's that waxy buildup i was speaking of earlier. but for some guys it's better.

As far as the whole shortened p***s length thing, i don't know WHO came up with that. like i said, i was circumsized, and i could say I'm "fairly well endowed"

and anyway, the doctors leave alot of foreskin on the bottom because it's the center where all of it connects. 'kay?

i see it kind of hypocritical. we believe female currcumsition is brberic and cruel (it still happens in some third world nations) but male curcumsition is sadly still common place here. ive never run in to a currcumsised guy thus far. its like some one going "feet are dirty, lets cut them off!". im compleatly agenst it.

But people are missing the good things about getting circumcised.
-Circumcision lowers risk of cervical cancer in females
http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/2754/cervical042002.htm
-It reduces the risk of HIV Transmission From Women to Men
http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/2754/hivjan20-2005.htm
These are just the things Ive found that are pretty damn important to me, now mind you, Im not going to drop my man because he isnt circumcised but these medical points are good things to think about before you jump on the "OMG ITS CRULE!!oneone11" bandwagon.
The more Ive thought about it, the more I dont really know what Im going to do with my own boys when the time comes.
In the end its something we're going to disscuss at great length.

This is a post by wotfan1983, she found it from a user called darcibetha. smile

People need to start seeing circumcision(male and female) for what it is. Body Modification. Just like tattoos, piercings, scarification and all other things that fall in that catagory. Now if someone decides that they want to have something like that done (there are people) then it should be completly legal for a consenting adult to go to a plastic surgeon and have a procedure proformed(people actually do things similar to this in the US). The problem with this article and these practices happening all over the world is that they are done on children. Now I don't know about you but I wouldn't let my child get a tattoo. Nor would I preform(or have some one else) some other sort of permanent body modification on anyone who was not of a legal consenting age. This includes circumcision(male and female) as well as tattoos(which in my state you must be 18 with valid ID to acquire), tongue splitting anything of that nature that the United States is good enough to regulate.
The major problems with these practices done around the world is that people are allowing and condoning these practices because they are cultural an traditional. Well here's a good question for you. What is more important, indiviual freedom or culture?? Because I'm sure some of those little girls would not agree to such a procedure. Human and Civil rights outweighs culture, just like in Afghanistan. Is it right for women to be killed in the streets for not being fully covered head to toe, or for leaving without a male relative?? No it's not right for things like this to happen, regardless of cultural ties or traditions. People (especially children) should not be forced to undergo any sort of permanent modification without first being of proper age and then having thier knowing consent. It really is a form of rape. Being about control and taking that control away from someone is just immoral. No matter how you look at it. And I doubt very seriously that there is any good and valid arguement to keep allowing these procedures to happen.

And I mean, look at how circumcision is performed in women in many other countries, even non-third world countries. It's performed in the US, and in Europe too. The methods never change, and they're so damaging to the woman, both physically and mentally.
*shudders*
I wrote a term paper on it last semester in college. I learned more than I'd ever like to know about female circumcision.
