The waitress returns with Demare's order, and, with a skittish look at all four males, retreats to service someone at the far end of the cafe without a word.
Dare smiles to himself, downing the remainder of his coffee. "Well, now tha' we all know one another, why not join us? The show's almost up, but Joe's got a great indie band comin' up jus' after."
A very interesting bunch of people to run into on his day off!

Demare watched Karan for a moment, noticing the now smaller boy appeared to be rather uncomfortable. Not that he could blame him... Unless he knew who Dare was, then the two teenagers probably looked like complete strangers. Strangely enough... that didn't bother him.
Picking up his cup, he took a sip of the tea he'd ordered, welcoming the different scent compared to the strong coffee smell.
"I feel a little stupid for asking, but... what's indie?" the halfling got out after a moment, shrinking in his loose scarf a little bit. "I don't know that much about music yet..."

"Music? Sweet." No matter what kind, music was awesome. Entertaining, a great icebreaker, and just plain nice to listen to. Or sing, or whatever. Indie was pretty good too, but he sure as heck wasn't going to be the one to explain it. Anything he tried to explain would probably get a lot of blank stares, and he wasn't in the mood. Besides, he'd done his share of teaching for the day.
The mention of sitting and sharing was well taken, but there was one point that the stranger brought up that Eriol found fault with. "Know each other? Me'n him've said our names, but I still don' know yours. Care to share?"
Karan hadn't said his name either, but he didn't feel like bringing that up. Instead he stared at his tray, pointedly avoiding eye-contact with any of the others. He couldn't help feeling like the odd one out, and cold or no cold, he was tempted to leave for home right then. But he didn't.
