jessyta I don't think it's THAT bad. It's just a cover... those very rarely, if EVER, outdo the original. Personally I think it's kind of cool that Tool has reached the 'coverable' status... agreed ^_^ but even then, how many other Tool songs can you imagine covered? not many...so even though they have hit "coverable" satus i dont see them being covered very often... domokun

Ho s**t!
I haven't heard it yet, but I must say that is dissapointing. I haven't heard the Schism cover either.
I feel out of the loop.

I can't really say cuse I never heard it. Staind has a way of slowing down the songs they remake...also their lead singer seems bored when he sings. but like I said I never heard it so I don't know and if they want to do it up to them I mean all they are doing is makeing the song the way they think it sould.

its just a reinterpretation...listen to it as if its the first time if you will....just imagine...heres a guy like Aaron, already with his own decently successful band...listening to Tool and liking it so much, he was moved deeply enough to want to play it, as a musician who writes his own stuff a lot, i can say that it is rare for me to feel driven to learn someone else tune ya know...
I dunno, thats how I see it...Tool did it originaly...and it was perfect...
then aaron did it with this spin...and though it doesnt compare to the original, its a refreshing new take on it...a bit more somber...
in the end your free to think whatever you like, about whatever you like, I'm just putting in my two cents

I just really can't stand Staind. I mean, I could tolerate them before they became a ballad band. Now they might as well open for Sugar Ray.
Still, wasn't as bad as Evanescence's cover of Orestes.
