"Ppffft, handle it? This is Sky your talking to." She giggles and looks at him with the same, mischievous look she did when she was a cub. "Your the King, so you gotta go first" She smiled and watched as he steped up higher.

Nimbus took in a deep breath, held his head high and turned his muzzle to the sky. He let out the loudest roar hecould, full of pride and kindness. He held the roar on, loud as he could, long as he could. These were his lands now.

His roar rang through her ears and she grinned, taking in a deep breath and following soon after. She roared with everything she was, listening to it as it spread across their land and further. Her eyes were closed and her head titled in different directions. She finished with a softer sound and looked to him lovingly. "Sexy" She laughed and nuzzled him.

He gave a satisfied smile, nodding. "Of course," he chuckled and licked her cheek, thinking about a name in the proccess. "Sky.. Welcome to Heaven's Hopes," he let a short roar ring out again, softer this time. His father would be proud.
((-waves a time passing paw-))
It had only been a few days, and the pride hadn't grown much, but life carried on. He hadn't expected the pride to just burst to life, he knew it would be slow. It was early morning and he was just stepping out of the cave, stretching his limbs and popping stiff joints. He grinned and took in a deep breath, enjoying the smell of fresh air. He was soon joined by his large blue mouse companion. "Mornin', Churu!"
The mouse squeaked and crawled up Nimbus' legs and onto his head to plop herself down on his nose. "Good morning, King Nimbus," she giggled. "Everything seems to be fine today, although I think you should wake up earlier. You got that habit from your father you lazy bum. A king should be~" she was quickly stopped by Nimbus' paw over her mouth.
"Not today Churu, please!"

The morning sun reflected off of the sky colored lioness, making her seem brighter than she actually appeared; as if the sun had joined her clouds and stars. The lioness woke from her slumber, sitting up with somewhat of a distraught look upon her face; it wasn't the sun that woke her up, but something within her body, and new feeling that remained unkown. She shrugged it off and struggled to stand up on all four paws, stretching out her limbs and yawning with a dull roar. Sky looked around for Nimbus, but saw just an empty spot beside her. "Hmm, must be up and about." The lioness took a few steps foward, feeling something tugging within her, but proceeded on to meet her King.

Nimbus turned to see Sky waking up and walking out to him. He got up and padded over to her, nuzzling her cheek and licking up the bridge of her nose. "Good morning beautiful," unfortunately he left Michuru's mouth free to run.
"The queen should be waking up earlier as well! Someone could walts right in and you'd be asl~" another paw.
Nimbus glared at the mouse. "Please, Churu, stop nagging!"

Sky gave a slight giggle at Nimbus's reaction to Churu, nuzzling him back affectionatly. "Good morning Nimbus" She sighed and looked up to the sky, a happy grin across her muzzle as she took in a breath of new surrounding air.

Nimbus chuckled as well. "How're the little ones this morning?" he licked her belly soflty and nosed it gently. He gave her a wide grin, such a beautiful day with such a beautiful lioness.

She smiled at his affection toward the unborn cubs, but it soon turned into a look of worry. "Restless...very" The lioness was drained, her energy gone. She didn't get much sleep, that was for sure, but she stayed as positive as possible and opened her muzzle to speak again. "Which means their big day will be here soon, really soon." She smiled weakly and flopped down beside her King's feet, tired but happy.

"The sooner the better, for the both of us," he laughed and nuzzled the top of her head, then groomed her hair back into place. "I can't wait!" his grin was almost ear to ear now.

The heavenly colored lioness gave her King a warm smile as she rested her head on her paws. "Me neither, won't feel so overweight anymore." She giggled softly and closed her eyes at his grooming. If things went according to plan, it would only be a few hours until the cubs were born. But in case they decided to come late, she kept the secret to herself, not wanting to get Nimbus's hopes up too high to only have them fall again and anticipate.

Nimbus tilted his head upwards and watched the clouds drift lazily by. His mind raced with so many things to say to his old friend and the one he felt was most important came out as no more than a wisper to the blue sky. "Thank you."
((You can time skip a few hours ahead to the birth xd ))

Hours passed and the lioness was fast asleep beside her love and her life. She gained some well deserved rest that was suddenly interrupted by a sharp pain coming from within her stomach. "Uh.." She moaned and stirred in her disrupted slumber, finally awoken by yet another jab. "Ahh!" She sat up and winced in pain, only to fall back down again, calling for him. "Nimbus..."

Nimbus had forced himself to remain awake, to keep an eye out for danger and protect his love. As Sky stirred he looked down but her scream caused his eyes to widen and he nosed her shoulder gently. "I'm here, I'm here. What's wrong?"

Her face went pale as another wave of pain rippled throughout her body. "Its time..." She grunted and laid down on her cloud patterned side, squinting her eyes shut. For the first time in her life, she was truly scared. She was always the brave one as a cub, fearless and running into the face of danger as if she was blind. She never once thought about what it was like to get hurt...and to feel such pain. Sky thought pain meant the cut on your skin you got as a child where it only took a little kiss to make it all go away. Or the thorn in your paw you got romping in the prickly bushes. Maybe the gashes from another lion's claws or teeth when there was disagreement. But ever since the sun rose, the word 'pain' had a whole new meaning to it, and it was time to explore it.
