anyone else find j. k. rowling to be an insufferable stuck up C-word?
i hear that she plans to kill off Harry Potter so that no one else can write a continuation after she is gone from this mortal plane.
talk about inflated ego's....
'course this is all hearsay so i could be completely talking out my a**.

Besides, I don't think she gives a toss about what happens when she's dead, I think she's thinking more about the short-term.

Besides, she's said this is just the last book starring Harry, not her last one in that world.

I like to think that this new book will somehow bring back Dumbledore and Sirius Black, and she lets Harry live happily ever after. And his scar goes away along with Voldemort's permanent death. Also, I would like Neville to die instead of Harry.

Besides, I don't think she gives a toss about what happens when she's dead, I think she's thinking more about the short-term.yes it is her character but it still shows a somewhat immature way to handle it, it's like a little kid taking all his toys so no one else can play with it. if other creators had that same mentality we'd be lacking alot of good stories we have today. i just personally found that state of mind really egotistical and conceited, but then that's my humbled opinion.

Actual response: Boromir and Theoden are the only really important characters that buy it over the course of the book. The rest die of natural causes in the Appendices.
Gandalf didn't die in Moria, he underwent a Whovian Change Of Appearance, and, in any event, he's a Maiar spirit and therefore for all intents and purposes immortal
Frodo (and Bilbo) go to The Undying Lands. I never actually finished The Silmarillion, because it made me want to eat my own head, but I think there's no death in the West in Tolkien's legendarium.

True. But he did it with style. I don't think Harry's death, if that is what unfolds in the last book (many theories run amuck in the -creepy- depths of the HP fandom), will it be as classy as simply getting on a boat. I think she'd go for more shock and bloody frofra, but to each their own.
