The door to the armoire slid open slowly and Faelin, taken aback at someone sneaking up on him before the warden arrived, burst from the clothing barrier, his eyes aflame with survival instinct. A dagger in one hand and his other darting lightning-quick for Maea's throat to stifle her expected scream.

Maea made not a sound; although startled, she was too experienced to give herself away so easily. She couldn't avoid the hand that went for her throat, but she grabbed his thumb and peeled it away to prevent him from choking her, at the same time driving a wing around below her arm and toward his gut. Most people watched the arms and legs, and never noticed the wings; that had saved her on several occasions. Although no one had ever ambushed her from a wardrobe before.

Faelin jerked his arm to the side, causing the wing to glace off his ribs, and dropped his free arm over it to pin it against his side. "Clever girl." he hissed in her ear as he drew her with inhuman strength back into the wardrobe's dark interior.

"Äelís Gòrask!"

The air inside the armoire stirred as if the furniture itself had inhaled and the doors swung quietly shut. "Prithee, have you made your way here for Wroughtsgood as well?" Faelin's soft voice was menacing but held no threat toward Maea. "I should have known that they would lay out a contract to more than one child of the moon's blade." muttering to himself he pulled her fully behind the coats. "I arrived at this locale prior to you and I have laid claim to his life. If you garner any objections I suggest you wait until I am done or you shall blow both our cover."

Maea growled impatiently. "I'm no sellsword, nor am I an imbecile," she told him-- quietly, but with force. "I know how to keep my mouth shut. Let me go, or I swear you'll regret it, greshak." Her tone served as translation enough for the last.

"I daresay you've come close enough to destroying my carefully laid plans. Were I to release you now you would only disrupt them further. Nay girl you shall stay here, and quiet, until I finish my work. Beyond that I've not a care for your intentions so long as they do not involve me. Now fold that wing, it might get in my way and I carry no ill intent toward you so long as you remain cooperative."

"My intent was to be away from here by now," she told him with a smirk, "but then, I understand. You need to cuddle with hostages in closets because no other woman would have you." She tried to shove past him, but found her way blocked.
Just then, the bells began to toll the hour. Maea muttered a curse under her breath.

"Back, girl, lest you depart this place in spirit only!" Faelin hissed as quietly as he could. Holding a hand over her mouth he pressed her against the back of the wardrobe. "When the bell tolls seven. I would wager, any second now, Wroughtsgood will come through that door. You would not wish to be discovered in his room when he does." At that moment a faint pair of footsteps could be heard echoing from the wooden floor of the hallway.

Maea truly hated being manhandled, and his persistence in talking down to her did nothing to soften it. She struggled against his grip, then bit hard on the hand covering her mouth, sinking her fangs deep. She tasted blood; it was utterly satisfying.

"Kleagth!" Cursing at Maea in demonic was a giveaway that he at least knew some demons since he hadn't been exposed to enough light to reveal his own features. Faelin pressed his dagger against her throat until she opened her jaw enough to remove his hand. Deftly, as the door's locks began to click open, he cleanly severed the sleeve of a lightweight shirt and began to wrap it about his injured hand. "Now," he began with a hint of malice. "I have reason to wish you bodily harm. You had best pray this one proves either difficult to kill or sates my thirst whilst you escape." His dagger once more slid free of its sheath and Maea felt him crouching down to spring.

"Difficult? I was thinking impossible." She slid back as far as she could, pressing against the wood of the wardrobe, to leave him room. He had reason to wish her harm? He was likely to get her killed! And she'd never have been in any danger-- well, not very much-- if he had let her leave.
Briefly, she considered doing something to alert the prison warden to their presence. They could probably take on this assassin together, and she would be able to get away if she said he'd taken her to keep her quiet-- not even a lie. Her white wings would be an asset, as well, since Celestials were rarely questioned as closely as another would be.
But she had her standards. She wouldn't betray someone who flouted the law as regularly as she did, even one of those kekori assassins.

Kira shook her head, and looked at the young priest. She smiled a slight smile. “ Are you going to deny his only child what she really needs…I tell him, and I don’t think he really needs to be bothered now…last I heard the war wasn’t in our favor….” She said in a low soft voice. Maybe the Gods want to kill off there messengers, she almost added but didn’t. If she wanted to go where she wanted, she shouldn’t push him now.

He remained quite for a while. The look in his eyes was that of pure annoyance, one she would have never gotten from her brother no matter what she did. Tears came to her eyes; maybe that was what won her case.

He sighed, and shook his head. “All right princess… but it better be worth the travel”, he said. “First I’m going to get you a coat”. He said and turned back to the temple. He came back a little later carrying a white fur coat, and slid it over her when she stood. “Let’s get this over with”, He muttered. He started to walk off, and Kira followed behind him happily to Ai’s border.

Faelin waited until he heard what he had desired from outside, trying not to respond to the celestial who had so disturbed his mission. Once the warden's hard boots hit the floor, free of his feet, Faelin began the count. "One, two, a sock for you. Five, six, a shirt for kicks. Nine, ten, it's free again. And that is when you strike!" The final word coming out strong though quiet he burst once more from the wardrobe and charged the bed. "Yessss. . ." Maea heard him exclaim in an unearthly tone as the warden's nearly undressed mistress began to scream.

Bounding the distance in only a few strides he was soon upon the bed with his dagger flashing red in the feeble light filtering through the curtains. The blade seemed to predeict its drink this night as its red cast shone brightly even before the first strike had landed. The warden raised an arm to block the second strike but Faelin took hold of his wrist and wrenched the arm from its socket, leaving it dangling backwards from his target's shoulder. The female, still screaming, bolted for the door with only a flimsy, expensive, silken blouse held in front of her.

"Äelís Gòrask!"

The door slammed shut before her and Faelin, his gaze directly on her, grinned wickedly as he twisted his arm and snapped the neck of his victim. "That, I think, would be a very bad course of action milady." he hissed. Suddenly his face became amiable and he pointed at the rest of her discarded clothing. "I would imagine you'd prefer to be well dressed before venturing out in the cold. A woman of such grace and beauty as yourself should not flee half naked into the white abyss of a winter's death. My task has been completed and you never were a part of it so I pray you do me a small service in exchange for sparing your life. Should anyone question you on tonight's happenings, tell them everything. Tell them everything you saw, as you saw it. Hold nothing back. They must know what not to do in the future."

As he spoke he walked slowly about the room and grabbed her clothing, heedless of the blood that rubbed off of his outfit onto hers. When he had it all together he advanced on her, clothing extended, and followed her all the way to the corner where she was prevented from escaping. "Take them and go. I wouldn't want to have to change my mind."

Maea was halfway out the window before she thought to look down; the scene behind her was enough to prompt a quick escape. But when she did look, she pulled back into the room with a curse. "You've been betrayed, greshak. You should leave before they get up here." She went to the door. There must be a back window or a way onto the roof; she had maybe thirty seconds to find it. What odds.

Faelin looked to Maea curiously for a moment. "Your blood does not run with the purity of celestials." he simply stated. "Your teeth are excessively sharp and your actions are unmaidenly. Perhaps you are the one who betrayed me?" Unconcerned he made no move to escape. "Rather than suggest retreat I would encourage you to bestow upon my humbly curious mind some knowledge of your true intentions." Hearing the front door slam open he leaned back and grinned. "And might I recommend you give me the abridged version? With a side of haste. . ."

The trip to the border was taking longer then Kira w anted it too. The snow that was too deep in some places that it came up to her knees and she almost got stuck in it. And the snow continued to fall blinding them some times. “Frozen tears”, Kira said, and the priest looked at her like she was crazy. It wasn’t the snow that bothered her so much. It was, more of the uneasiness outside. It was as if something was not quite right in Ai. There was a mixture of sadness and uneasiness in the air, along with something else that Kira couldn’t name, but the priest seemed to know of. He kept her close to his side in his reach at all times.

“There are impure creatures around “, He said in a hushed whisper.” If they know who you are they may whish you harm…you sure you need to go to the wall?”

Kira nodded stubbornly determined to keep going. Her wings were hidden under her coat, who would guess who she was. Except for the priest escort there was nothing to give her away.
