Marcus looked around, "Anyone else even here?" came the growling gravely voice. He shrugged, shaking his head..."Guess not..."

Jed walked up to the door, scenting the woman there long before he saw her. He knocked upon the door, settling. He'd heard about the army, and he knew where he'd stand in it. He'd probably give the vampire a run for his money on terror. The thought brought a smirk to his lips. Since Shawn'd deserted him, he'd no use for those values anymore.

Ruby turned and asked, "Who are you?"

Jed let his irises slide to the corners of his eyes as he gave her a sidelong glance. The corner of his mouth curled into a little bit of a smirk. "Does it matter?" he asks in a gravelly voice.

"You tell me" Ruby says.
But Jed doesn't answer. Ruby watches him head inside the vampire's castle. She hesitates to follow, not knowing what the vampire would think about others barging into his home. After a few minutes of thinking it over, though, she too steps inside and waits.

Jed smiled as he looked the vampire over. "I'm a fan of your work and want to join you?" Truth be told, he was prepared to kill pretty much anything in his path; the rage over Shawn hadn't cleared in the least. This guy had done pretty much what he was thinking to do in the village, and if he had plans like the rumors said, Jed wanted in on them.

Ruby followed Jed in a little more. She wasn't sure about him or how to answer him.
The vampire appeared and stared at them. Here was her chance to ask him for help. She wondered what he would say. (She also wondered about Jed's motives, but that took a backseat to facing the vapire lord).
Quietly clearing her throat, Ruby spoke up.
"I would like to ask a favor of you, Lord Damien."

Darkness Is My Life's Blood

Damien smiled lightly though you could not tell, he hungered for blood and the sight of the beautiful female made his hunger burn stronger, he silenced it though, not wise to make cattle of those that visit, and as for his 'fan' he would inquire much of him, he looked toward the female and spoke "Yes madam" the words leaving his lips softly.

Jed could only smile at Ruby's silence. There was often a silence when someone of abnormal talent was about. He himself stayed silent as his short-time companion asked favours. Watching the vampire, he couldn't help the smirk that slid over his face for just a second; vampires always figured that they were the only ones that could sense hunger. There was no sense in interrupting, he could be patient while the vampire either made do of Ruby's request, or sucked her dry. She was on edge enough and didn't need him causing issue. Besides, who was he to interfere with the vampire's plans for her? Understanding that he would be interrogated later, Jed settled and watched.

Ruby shifted for a minute. Silence settled upon the moment as she thought how to word her request. Damien was strong, which is why she came to him. Jed, though, was... Ruby couldn't think. Jed made her a liitle uncomfortable. Not waiting to risk impatience from Damien, Ruby opened her mouth to begin speaking.
"My request, Lord Damien, is that I need your help."
The vampire lord just stared, waiting for Ruby to continue.
"I don't have a lot of power and the danger that has come to the town in the past is about to return. Many don't trust those with magick, or the other vampires. I believe you are able to help because it's been rumored that you've dealt with this being before. Also, your reputation will keep everyone organized so a useless battle won't ensue."
Ruby breathed for a moment, trying to relax. She then continued.
"I believe this threat that is arriving affects everyone, vampires and the like. To defeat this would mean everything will stay the same, and you wouldn't be bothered with petty favors again". "I also ask if you could help me develop my abilities more, since I can help you a little if you decide to say yes."
Ruby took another breath in before finishing.
"I'm not sure how to pay you if you decide to help. I can give you almost anything, including access to the rose gardens that our gardener keeps you from, if that is what you desire."
Ruby stopped. The vampire lord continued to look at her, saying nothing. She didn't turn to see Jed's expression, but stared up at Damien instead.
"What do you say, Lord Damien?"

Magic, battle, and almost anything in payment. Jed quirked a brow at the girl. Not just anyone had such weight to throw around. And yet, here she cowered before a vampire. He wouldn't count himself, as aware as he was of her discomfort in his own presence. This danger she spoke of intrigued him, he had to admit. He kind of wished that Damien would take it, then allow him to assist in whatever battle there would be. And really, what was this girl thinking, offering a vampire anything he wanted? Keeping his smile and his silence, he too waited with bated breath for the vampire's response.

It seemed to Michelle that there was an owner of the dark and sinister castle; her first suspect. The two entrants also likely suspects. She travelled further up the path, and stopped close enough to be able to observe certain traits and conversation of her three suspects, but still hidden away so as not to be seen. The one female seemed to be speaking of vampires and battle. She scratched this bit into her journal. Also, the female addressed the occupant of the castle as one "Lord Damien", a being she, herself, has not heard of. She also wrote in her notebook, "Speakings of vampires, battles of times past, magic...All evidence that this is like nothing I've ever dealt with before. Unless they speak in code. Then what could these words possibly mean?" She wanted to make herself known, but not yet. It was too soon for her prey to know that she had them in her journal as suspects of mass murder in her new town. Lord Damien seemed to take likely to the two strangers, or accomplices, who had randomly shown up on his castle door step. This gave her an idea. To understand the crime, get close to the suspects. She was about to go undercover. Pocketing her journal in the inside pocket of her large coat, she took a deep breath, and calmly made her way up to the castle doors, where her three persons stood. She tried to not make herself known quite yet, deciding it'd be better if she heard the lord's response to the girl's request. There was something about how the girl cowered in front of the lord, and the way the third just stood silently with a smile on his lips; yes, there was definately something odd about this late night meeting and group of three. She stood a few feet away from the group, hoping that she would have her chance to perhaps get in a few questions as well once he had answered.

As Michelle drew closer, Jed's smile vanished as he scented her. His eyes slid to their corners as she stopped, and while she was where he could not see her, he could still smell her. This would make an interesting play, should she choose to join them. If it turned out that the vampire didn't have a use for her, Jed most certainly would. Shifting his eyes back to his company, Jed kept his attention split between the scent of a spy and the words of his would be lord.

Why do people think I'm cowering before Lord Damien when it's Jed who scares me the most? Ruby wondered.
She knew someone was outside after hearing twigs snap. Jed had noticed too, but he didn't say anything.
Raven wondered what Damien would say. She also wondered if he could sense she had another vampire's scent upon her. If he did, he didn't mention it, yet.
Raven waited for the vampire lord to respond to her requests.

The monster wandered the halls, then headed for the main room, his red eyes looking over everything, not leaving anyone unscrutinized. He slowly made his way in, looking at the vampire as well as the others in the room. Marcus chuckled slightly to himself, walking in and leaned against the back wall, just waiting to see what was going to happen.

Jed tensed slightly as he scented another vampire. What was this? Open invitation? Guaging his chances between teh mage, the vampires and teh woman out in the darkness, Jed shifted so that he could see both vampires. It probably wouldn't do him any good with this second one, but he was fairly certain he could get away if need be.
