The waterbender was as reckless as Xio was counting on. The earthbender would be ignored until Xio found him airborne, later.
The Sanada prodigy was in motion almost immediately after Taizen showed signs of faltering, launching himself into a potent pre-emptive counter. Right arm shot backwards with rigid knife hand, left arm traced a quick partial circle above and to the left of the firebender's body - leaving a trail of sparks before his impassive face. Right hand was thrust forward fluidly, through the curtain of sparks and towards the just-now oncoming water.
As his hand touched the sparks, they streaked forward as shards of blazing fire, searing heat stabbing forth for Taizen's head and upper torso. But Xio was not done... he swept his right foot forward and to the side, emitting a wave of flame rippling across the ground to crash into what water might still be headed his way, creating steam by using the water as fuel... lessening any water that would find its way near him.
And for his final movement, Xio brought his left leg and up and slammed his foot down sliding back the right and bringing up his fists to chamber-lock position, landing in a horse stance. Timed so that the firepit Daniel had to travel over to get near Xio would erupt in a conflagration of blinding heat and clinging flames... as the earthbender was not earthbound, and momentum was built... getting away from the pillar of flame was not a likelihood.

((Okay, I'll post my defense now.))
Taizenbarely had time to hold his hand in front of his face as red hot sparks shot at him, several burning his chest, the others making small red spots on his hands as he sheilded his face, And though he was hurt, and the fire threatened to consume his clothing, effectively turning Taizen into a human torch, he did not reatreat. after the initial pain and burning, he stood straight, and made a large circle with his left hand, going counter clockwise, up, down, and around, back to creating a mirror image of when he had tried to catch Xio in the Ice be3fore, this time however, he pulled it from the water near him, effectively engulfing Taizen, and putting out the small fires starting to grow on Taizens clothing. there was the beginning of a light shine through the water, The burns on his body were lessened slightly, allowing Taizen to concentrate more on Xio, rather than the pain.
Taizen fell from the 'crane' stance, which apparently was the trigger of making water rise, to hit his right hand into his left palm, the water around him opened like a veil, showing Taizen nestled inside a water cocoon, he didn't have time to inspect Daniel closer, he had to attack, his legs went into a horse stance,Taizen made two strikes, his feet sliding Into two T-horses. Which meant his right/left foot was pointed at Xio, and his left/right foot was pointed to the center of his foot, this made his body naturally turn, so when Taizens hand shot out in two snake strikes, one from the right, and one from the left, the water cocoon turned into his weapon rather than his defense, as two spike of water shot out of it, heading for Xio, he tucked his elbows in as he reverted back to the regular horse stance, the two spikes of water froze, two Icy needles aimed for Xio.

(( Actually, they're not sparks at all. They're shards... like large portions of broken glass comprised entirely of fire. ))

Xio was not one to allow his opponent time to recover. True to the nature of fire, he continued at an increasing rate... burning and consuming with a wild sense of order. Iaijutsu was the order of today's battle, as one of the Ye Huo Ren was nigh-instantly released from its sheath and drawn in one motion so fluid it might have come from a waterbender. "Raiiiiii!" The dancing metal made a single arc before the firebender with phantasmal celerity.
From that glittering arc, a waist-high width-wise blanket of electricity shot forward as fast as only lightning could, as Taizen covered himself in water. From the speed of the attack, Xio was aiming to electrocute Taizen senseless before he had time to perform another bending technique to thwart him.

Daniel , turned without a word not really careing anymore and he walked right out of the areana, basicly forfeiting the match, he said as he left "sorry, but i don't think i am up to a fight right now mabe later."

Taizen's eyes widened as the blue light shimmered, "What?!" He demanded silently, hitting his knuckles together, making the water rush forward to protect him- wouldn't do much good though- as the water crashed with the lightning, there was a sound like; 'Poof!' as the water evaporated, as well as the smell of singed flesh, and hair. "Hahhh!" Taizen panted, he was kneeling... He had been shocked... the electricity coursed around his body, the brute strength of the lightning had been wasted on the water cocoon, however, the electricity found it's way into every nook and cranny of Taizen... His left arm.... He couldn't move it... His right leg... The one that he was kneeling on... It was also out-of-commision...
The steam veil began to dssaparate, and Taizen took a deep breath- through his mouth- and... The steam.... It wasfunneling into Taizen's mouth! He glared at Xio, making a defiant 'fff' through his nose, he cast a side-glance at the pool of water.... He needed to get over there... His right leg twitched as he commanded it to move... So... It wasn't completely out-of-commision... It was just... Slower than usual... Much slower...

Xio may value honor, but Sanada honor taught a warrior to take every chance to defeat one's opponent... if one were not to attack from behind. The Sanada heir charged forward, unexpectedly fleet for someone in armor, his boots wreathed in searing flames. Drawing up, losing no momentum, he drove his flaming left foot for Taizen's chin as the waterbender's head was turned, looking for the pool of water. It was obvious Xio wasn't trying to give his opponent time to recover... that would be folly, but he himself was quite wary of any traps or counterattacks.

Taizen reacted as though he had been expecting the attack, if Xio had been as ruthless before, why should he stop now? Taizen rolled aside, flames raoaring ridiculously close to his face. His right hand passed over his face and Taizen spat a needle of Ice at Xio's head, aiming for his neck, the chance of actually hitting skin was small, but if he did, he could possibly earn a win. Taizen made a sort of saumersault to get away from Xio, "Not far now..." He thought as attempted to 'somersault' again, it was hard, he was relying on adrenaline to fuel his body, and brute strength-which Taizen had little of- To carry himself across the battle ground, toward the pool of water, once inside, he could heal himself of the numbness, although this time, he wouldn't rely on the water as a Sheild, Xio could get around that... With his lightning...
((Eh, the 'somersault' thing is sorta like a little flip-roll, using your hand, and your feet, now mind-it's hard for him, because only one of his feet are actually working correctly, but...))

The ice needle shattered on Xio's armor... the ice of a waterbender wouldn't normally be so fragile, but Xio's family artifacts retained a great deal of firebending energy, as they were created entirely by firebenders without the aid of forges. The intelligent youth knew exactly where Taizen was headed, and also knew a good move or two to stop him...
Xio landed his flaming foot and spread his arms wide, drawing in on the ambient heat aura he constantly produced almost absent-mindedly. This was bolstered by the nearby firepits Xio was but metres from, and the effeciency of his bending... letting nothing go to waste. Combined with trained stamina, he had the ability to go the distance, and now was no exception.
Both arms slashed downwards, spread opposite, rose as one, drew back, and then thrust forth in several series of short, speedy motions. "Midday sun, boil the oceans and scorch the land!" He called in his imperious voice as heatwaves expanded away from Xio's body. The firepit near the pool of water roared as Xio galvanized its reaction and redirected it once more (rather than use alot of energy to force and shape it), this time slamming into the pool of water with its increased and focused heat. If Taizen continued, he would find much less water and much more fire and steam than he had hoped for. If not, he would find himself beset on all sides by raging flames, cut off from water.

Taizen was almost far enough! Maybe he didn't need to get into the water, maybe he could bend a current... rushing water was a better defense than placid water! He held out his hand, the water began to stir, and- "Ahh!" Taizen shouted as flames roared in front of his handscorching his fingers. "Ah..." He growled glaring at xio through the flames, "This guy.... he's not like any bender i've ever encountered... He might be as smart as me..." He thought, though secretly he noted that he'd done some not-so-very smart things. "surprising this bender wouldn't work, he knows exactly what i'm trying to do, even the ice-needle, which had a low-chance of success to begin with, barely even gained notice from him..."
He cast a glance at the skin of water at his side. He didn't want to waste this... Using this meant having no available water around...he'd save the water for a last-ditch attempt... Surrounded by these walls of fire.... He brought his singed hand to his mouth and took small, breaths, mist being expelled, until eventually there was tiny ice fragments on his hand. He placed this frozen hand on his other arm, the one that had been numb, moving it up and down, finging the area that had been immobilized by electricity. "Until you hit me directly... ou wont win this fight... I'll keep healing myself... And when you do get close, you'll lose!" He thought, as the frozen glove shone dimly, feeling slowly began coming back to his arm. "He'll be coming any minute now..." He thought looking through the Haze of fire.

But no, that wasn't going to happen. When someone has a responsibility like Xio's, you don't take chances. The fire encircling Taizen roared higher, cutting him off from the world, effectively limiting his sight to the searing flames only a few feet from him.
The circle tightened up quickly, as the fire from the firepit receded... but Xio already had the lion's share under his command. There likely wouldn't be room to waterbend in this tight of a circle... but Xio wasn't evil by any stretch, he didn't attempt to burn his opponent alive. However, with Taizen supposedly incapacitated...
Xio drew both Ye Huo Ren and slammed their interlocking pommels together with a quick motion. "Hong Fa Zuo..." The newly-formed twin sword began to crackle as the words left his lips along with a long rush of air. With celerity born of training and genetic ability, Xio unleashed a massive bolt of lightning with a flourish of his blades, for his likely immobilized opponent. Should it connect in the body-tight flaming cell, which Taizen should not be able to see out of to notice an attack, Taizen would likely be knocked through the other side, unconscious... if the strike was merciful.
