Wednesday, November Tenth

Finally, I am able to take pen in hand to record the misadventures of my past seven days.

As I have only recently came to earth, I hope that I am doing this all correctly.

Friday, November Fifth

When I first came down to Earth, it was night. As I have learned from watching those on the surface, Night time is not safe. I made my way to the nearest dwelling and started up to the door. However, one of my chains caught on the wooden porch and I fell.

There was a male voice inside of the house, then the door opened. I was assautled by some metal object, then the male voice screamed something to the like of 'Sweet Tapdancing Jesus!', and the object was dropped. The man ran away, and his place was quickly taken by a woman.

"Please don't poke me." I said. The girl looked at me, blinked, then opened the door a little wider.

"Would you like to come in?" She asked me. I followed her in, watching her. Her looks were different that what I am used to. She was dark haired and eyed, but had very light skin. "Uhhh..."

"I would like to stay here, if it is allowed." I asked. The girl nodded, looking releived.

"Of course. Uh, you'll have to sleep on the loveseat tonight, 'till I can get you a bed made up." I nodded, not quite knowing what she ment by 'Love seat' "And, uh, what do we call you?" This simple question made my head spin. A name? She was asking me for my name?

". . . Rene." I said. She stuck out her hand.

"Jeane."

I spent the rest of the night in her room, staring at the ceiling while she slept. This didn't seem like too terrible of a place.

Saturday, November Sixth

I awoke before Jeane this morning and removed myself from her bed. There, staring at me from a cage, was an infant. His large blue eyes stared at me as he attempted to climb over the edge of his cage. His face was reminecent of a Cherub.

Jeane awoke then, and introduced me to Conan. I removed him from his cage and he clung to me, perhaps in gratitude. We made our way down the stairs and were confronted by a most wonderfull smell. Jeane's elder brother, Bob, was creating some type of breakfast food.

The food was called Pancakes, and was apparently much more tasty with 'syrup'. Bob offered me the syrup but, as I tried to grab it, was hit by one of my chains. His nose started to bleed, but he shrugged it off untill he tasted blood. Conan laughed at him.

Bob was just as kind about the chain beating on the second and third times. But the fourth time he got rather angry, and I broke the nose. He took both Conan and myself to Jeane, then took himself to a hospital.

But when we returned to our home we found that Bob had been hurt more than any of us had thought. Not only had his nose been broken, but his skull had been fractured.

I feel most terrible about that.

Thursday, November Eleventh

Apparently, I do not act my age. Or, to better state the phrase, I do not act my appearance. Jeane informed me that I appear to be around four years old. My speech and mannerisms betray that I am much older than that.

So, I have began my own quest to become more proper. I have started to watch Conan and Luc, Jeane's newest addition. I do not understand why Bob is so angry with Jeane. Luc is a very wonderfull addition to the family, as she is pretty and kind. I beleive that he does not like her because he does not speak her language.

I beleive that tomorow I will throw a tantrum if Jeane attempts to change the television from 'PBS'. Perhaps if I add my voice to the howls of Bob and Conan, she will not switch stations. I will also talk to Luc about backing us all up.

Friday, November Twelfth

Today I enacted my tantrum plan. First, I convinced Luc to hide behind the couch so that Bob would not see her. Then we all waited untill Jeane came downstairs. She glared at Bob and moved to turn the station.

"Aaaaaah!" I screamed, at the same time that Bob and Conan began to scream.

"Turnitbackturnitbackturnitback!" The elder howled.

"Wwwwwwaaaaah!" Conan added. Luc jumped from behind the couch and hissed as loud as she could. This made Bob start screaming, and he tipped his recliner over, spilling both him and Bob on the floor. Luc ran for me for protection.

Jeane sat on the floor, happily watching some cartoons. I really don't beleive that she noticed anything else that happened.

Sunday, November Fourteenth

I helped Bob sort some of the old family photos. One that captured my intrest was of a group of people, all dressed rather gaudily. They stood aboard a ship of sorts and wore funny hats and eye patches or metal hooks for hands. Jeane herself wore an eyepatch and was grinning smarmily at the camera.

"When was this taken?" I asked him. Bob took the picture from me and laughed at it.

"Our parents sent us each to a different school to learn a trade. Elizabeth went to Miss Milicent's School For Younge Ladies, Misty went to Carbroth Colleage of Business, and Jeane ran away and became a pirate."

"What was she going to be before?" Bob touched his chin thoughtfully.

"She went to Clown School, I beleive. Then she got drunk one night when she was about ten, and we didn't hear from her for six months. Turned out she wound up on a pirate ship and became a pirate."

"What did you go to school for?" Jeane walked in, on her way to the bathroom.

"Bob went to Faaaairy school!" He turned and started to scream.

"I went to a Sports School, and you know that very well!"

"Laaaawn Faaaairy!"

Thursday, November Sixteenth

I was awakened quite roughly early this morning by Bob. He was grinning ear to ear as he handed me a thick winter coat. He allready had Conan in his snowsuit, and the baby was too tired to even start chew his suit. Then Bob picked up Luc and put her in a big boot, then tossed a coat on her. We all walked outside and stared at the ground.

"Snow!" Bob cried happily. I blinked a few times.

"Frost." Bob and I argued this for several minutes untill Jeane forced us inside.

Wednesday, November Seventeenth

It appears the Luc has decided to speak to us. To be fair, her one word is 'snow', but it is an improvement over her hissing and body language.

Jeane has been trying to get me to make more friends latley. I do not understand why she is so insistant. I have a little brother and a snake sister. I do not need anyone else. Jeane just tells me that I must make more friends.

I worry, because I do not want to appear abnormal. I have allready made Jeane worry about me with my intelligence. I should try and act more like a child. Perhaps I should get Jeane to arrange a. . . playdate.

Early in the morning

I don't know why I didn't notice. She's allways so cheerfull, so it's easy to tell when she's down. But this time, she wasn't sad or anything. I should have noticed. She and I have been together for eighteen years. I'm usually good about things like this.

But when I went to wake her up this morning, there was a note on her freshly made bed. I picked up Conan and started to read:

Quote:

Quote:
Bob,

I just need to get away and clear my mind before I go crazy. I know you'll take good care of everyone. Remember, water my funny little incubator if it needs it, cuddle the staff and butterfly, don't spend all day with Conan watching PBS, drag Rene out and make her make friends, don't let Gwy and Luc in the same room or you'll be taking them both to the hospital.

Love you,

Lish

Down stairs I heard screams and spitting, and I had a sinking feeling that I'd be taking a trip to the hospital.

Monday, November Twenty-Second

Jeane disapeared sometime last night. No one, not even Bob, knows where she has gone.

Bob has had his hands quite full for the time being. There's Conan, the two odd pendant things, the flower, and Luc and Gwy, both who were taken to the hospital.

I was sitting in the living room today, watching PBS, when the phone rang. "Greetings, Clark's madhouse." I answered. There was the sound of ocean, and a very tired sounding voice greeted me.

"Lo, love. How're things holding up." I peered out the window.

"Luc's after Gwy again, and Conan's eating his playsuit."

"Good. Bob outside, then?"

"Yes."

"Good. Give him my love, all right?" Her end hung up. I told Bob that she called, and about the ocean.

Tuesday, November Twenty-Third

I worry for Bob's health. When not running after Conan or the two Aurpan, he sits very quietly and stares at the wall. I approached him when he was staring and touched his hand. He was ice cold.

He didn't notice my touch, so I left and returned with a blanket. I wrapped it around his shoulders and he grabbed my hand.

"In eighteen years," He said softly, "I've only been away from her for four days at the most." He closed his eyes and sighed.

Rene awoke in the middle of the night, teeth chattering. She snuggled down into Jeane's waterbed to gain warmth, but was soon up again. Conan was sniffling and whimpering inside of his crip. The fallen angel crawled out of bed and brought the baby to the warmer bed.

The door to the bedroom opened moments later and a half frozen Luc was dragged in by Gwy. "Reeeenie, why is it so cold?" Gwy asked, puffing her breath. "I'm breathing steam!"

"S-s-s-s-snow!" Luc wailed. Rene scooched over to the window and peered out. It was indeed snowing outside. Rene sighed and climbed out of bed. She was quickly replaced by the two Arupan. Slipping her feet into a large pair of house slippers and tugging on a bathrobe, Rene opened the bedroom door.

"The furnace hasn't kicked on. I'll go and tell Bob." She said before closing the door. As she padded her way through the kitchen, she became aware of things staring in the windows. Things with large red eyes, things scratching the windows. She clutched the robe tighter to herself and nearly flew down the basement stairs.

"Bob!" She cried, running to his side of the basement. The figure buried under blankets didn't move. "Bob?" She shook him, gaining no response. Removing the blankets, she found him curled into the fetal position, a cobbwebby like material gathering on his closed eyes.

The scratching sound outside grew louder, and was joined by screams. The basement door creaked open and slammed shut as the two Arupan, Luc carying Conan, bounded down the stairs. "Scary Scary Scary!" Gwy wailed.

"Scry!" Conan agreed, clinging to the Snake, who pried him off of her hand handed him to Rene.

"Up." She commanded Bob. The man didn't answer. She bit him on the calf, to no response. ". . ." She blinked a few times before turning to the rest of the group. "We're all going to die, you know." She said seriously. "It appears that our beloved Uncle was keeping them away."

The room fell silent. Even the cries from outside stopped. "You... You can talk!" Gwy cried. Luc nodded.

"Never saw the point before. It's boring here." She said, then crawled on Bob's bed. One by one, each child followed her and snuggled up to their uncle. There was a loud crash upstairs, and heavy footsteps crossed the floor. The basement door was thrown open, and the footsteps crashed down the basement steps. All ducked under the blanket as the footsteps approached. But Conan, either being very brave or very curious, threw the blanket off of his head.

"Mommy!"

Saturday, November Twenty-Seventh

It is good to have Jeane home. Bob seems to be feeling better, though I still have many questions for the both of them. The Cobbwebby material on Bob's eyes, the demons, and however did Jeane get past them?

Both Luc and I find these questions highly taxing. As she is now speaking to all of us, I find that she is a wonderfull person to discuss things with.

I will ask Jeane about escaping the monsters tomorow. Today is too happy.

Sunday, November Twenty-Eighth

Jeane went to someplace called 'Trader's World' today. Apparently it is a large outcropping of human-run shops. Odd.

She came home with many candles and dolls. I could not manage to get her alone to speak with her. She is busy teaching Conan more words.

Monday, November Twenty-Ninth

I finally asked Jeane about the Demons. She looked at me, patted me on the head, and said that I wouldn't understand. She's such an oddity.

Asking Bob resulted in a similar answer.

Saturday, December Fourth

My life has been uneventful as of late. Much hammering has been coming from upstairs, from the rooms that are unused. I beleive that Bob and Pepito are trying to renovate them without Jeane noticing. Sadly enough, I don't think she notices the noise.
