New to the Family

Entry 001

Dear Diary,

We have yet another child in our household. I seem to have received this boy as a bit of a Christmas present. He's indeed a unique one. To describe this boy in one word, he is a drunk. I have had to hide all our liquor, cough syrup, and anything with an alcohol content in a locked cabinet high off the ground, and even then he can manage to get his hands on some! I wouldn't see anything wrong with this if it wasn't so bad for his liver. I don't know if fallen angels are immune from human diseases or not! I'll have to ask Ara-asn about that…

Arukoru gets along great with his sister Onii, which over joys me because she needed a little friend. He gets along just fine with his other siblings, but if I went into description over his relationship with all my children, I'd be going on forever. Ever see Cheaper by the Dozen? I feel like both those parents combined into one. If it wasn't for Gabriel, I would go insane.

I don't really have much to say on Aru yet, he's so soft spoken and quite when he's not getting drunk, he just says an igima around the house. Keeping to himself. I'm going to try and make him some friends, that way he can pipe up a bit. It scares me to see a child as quite as him.

Shy Child?

Entry 002

I'm getting a little worried about Arukoru. He seems to not be fairing well in the center around strangers. The other day when he and Onii were playing, she ran into a little boy and they started talking. I was hopeing both Onii and Aru would make a friend, but it seems Aru just completely backed off and steered clear of the stranger.

I've never seen Arukoru show signs of shyness around others in our family, but it seems whenever he's around others he doesn't know, he becomes a shut in and hides behind the nearest couch. I'll have to try and find him a friend of some sort soon.. I don't want my little boy to not have any friends aside from those bottles of alcohol he manages to get a hold of..

The Miracle Of Life

Onii had been playing outside all morning. Apparently Tenshi somehow convinced Sesshomaru to watch after her while she was busy trying to hunt down Akuma. Sesshomaru didn't seem to be paying much attention though; he was too busy practicing his new energy whip technique on the nearby trees.

Arukoru had also been outside, but he was currently sitting in the shade and sipping on a frozen margarita Sesshomaru had let him get from the fridge. Apparently Sesshomaru would let them do whatever the hell they wanted as long as they let him be.

Onii skipped along the sidewalk, playing hopscotch with some chalk Gabriel gave her and a pebble. She went to the base of the board with her little smooth stone, far be it for Onii to not spend a good hour looking for the perfect rock to play hopscotch with. She wouldn't settle for one of those ugly lumpy clustery ones. It had to be perfectly smooth and glimmer when the son hit it!

"Oomph!" Onii grunted as she tossed the stone with all her might, and over threw it about a good two feet too far. She then blinked her big blue eyes and giggled.
"Onii strong for her age!" She cheered, before she began to run after it. She had now left the boarder of Tenshi's lawn, and went into the bushes at her neighbor's house. Onii stuck her head into one bush in particular to try and find her rock, but instantly made eep and pulled her head out as she met with a swarm of flies.

"Flies?" She blinked, why would there be so many in a bush? She only saw them when they swarmed around food she left out too long. Onii slowly pulled the bush branches apart and looked back inside, only to let out a very loud gasp at what she found…

A kitten. A dead one at that. Onii however, didn't realize this and instantly scooped the kitten up in her hands.
"Kitty!" She squealed, before looking at it curiously. "Kitty? Kitty wake up." She said, giving it a gentle shake, and then poking it in its cheek. It was just big enough to fit into both her hands, and from the looks of it, it had been crushed. That's right, crushed.

Earlier that day Akuma had stopped by the house in an attempt to snatch up another child, but when she saw Gabriel and Vincent close by she changed her mind and turned tail, but not before stepping on an infant cat that the little girl that lived down the street was trying to show her. Akuma seemed to take a great deal of sadistic pleasure in watching children cry, and that was a sure fire way to do it. But that's off the present subject. Onii finding it.

Onii cupped the kitten to her chest and ran up to the porch, giggling as she called out.
"Aru! Sesshomaru! Onii found a kitten!" She cheered, bouncing up and down with it. Sesshomaru let out a groan as he heard the little demoness cheer, and quickly went to see just what exactly she was so ecstatic about.
"What is it now?" He asked, stepping up onto the porch, while Arukoru stood up and tried to peer into Onii's hands.
"Onii said she found a kitten. Let me see!" He said, poking at her hands.

Onii then let out a really wide grin, before she held the kitten out in both her hands.
"Ta da!" She said. And at this Aru looked like he was going to have a heart attack. Sesshomaru's eyes grew just the faintest bit larger as he saw the lifeless kitten, before shaking his head.
"Onii that cat is dead." He said, before walking off the porch again. "Get rid of it before it starts to decay." was the last thing he said, before going back to his training.

Onii on the other hand, looked to Aru with confusion.
"Dead? Decay? What does Sesshomaru mean, Aru?" she asked, before petting the kitten's head. "It's just sleeping." she continued. Aru looked at Onii with grieved eyes. Nobody had taught her the concept of death yet, apparently. Aru then took the kitten from Onii's hands, before taking the towel he was using to coaster his drink, and rapping it up inside it.
"It's dead Onii. It's not alive anymore. Something killed it." He said, trying to explain. But Onii just continued to stare at him with her naive blue eyes. Aru frown seemed to grow larger at this, before he tried to think of how to explain it.
"The kitten's gone to heaven Onii. It's not in this body anymore," he said, and this started to strike Onii's attention, sense she knew what heaven and hell where.

"Aru means that the kitten isn't sleeping..?" she asked, and Aru nodded in reply.
"It's dead. It's gone to sleep forever Onii. It'll never wake up. We should burry it before something tries to eat it.. I'll get Sesshomaru to make us a hole.." He said, before he went to walk off the porch with it. But when he heard the faint whimper of the German demoness who two minutes ago didn't understand death, he stopped dead in his tracks and looked back at her.

Onii's eyes where now hidden under her bangs as her head was tilted down, but she was biting her lip and her jaw was quivering.
"Awww Onii..." Aru said, setting a hand on her shoulder. Onii then looked over at him with tear filled eyes, sniffling.
"I don't want the kitten to sleep forever. Aru wake him up. Make the kitten not dead." she said, turning to him. Aru then frowned and looked down at the kitten. That was a blow to his chest right there, being an angel. It was expected of him when he was in heaven to grant miracles.. He remembered back before he was banished, when they would try to teach the children to revive birds, and allocate their souls into eggs. But he was always too busy getting drunk to learn...

"Make it wake up, Aru.." Onii said again, which snapped him back into reality as he looked up at her. Aru's expression then hardened with determination as he nodded his head. Seeing the tears roll down Onii's face and soak into her shirt made him even more determined. He looked down at the kitten that looked so peaceful in his hands, and then gripped it in his fists.

Aru closed his eyes tightly and bit his lip, his body shaking as he tried to concentrate, and summon his magic that heaven had sense forbidden him from using when he was banished. But he didn't care. He didn't want Onii to be sad. He had to make it better. Onii took a step back and gave a quick hiccup, her eyes growing wide as Aru started to glow, along with the kitten.

The glowing caught Sesshomaru's attention as he turned his head. s**t! If those idiots hurt themselves Tenshi was going to be upset with him. He quickly ran to the porch and was about to grab Aru, but the as he put his hand forward he felt himself get burned by the heat emanating from the boy. Aru let out a grunt of pain as he continued to squeeze the kitten, his halo and wings turning to blood and soaking into his shirt and hair. The blood and stains then slowly started to travel down his face and back, to his shoulders and then his arms, and then to the kitten. The blood then slowly disappeared as the kitten seemed to fatten up with life, it's wounds being healed. And then within a second the light grew painfully bright, and then died.

Aru fell to his knees and then against the porch rails, as his grip on the kitten loosened as he dropped it to the ground. And to everyone's surprise the kitten let out a squeak as it hit the floor. Within moments the kitten slowly wobbled out of the towel Aru was holding him in, and let out a powerless cry for its mother.

"Aru did it!!" Onii squealed as she picked up the kitten, hugging it every so gently to her chest. And looked down at it happily. The kitten, which was black with white markings, cuddled up into her arms and went to sleep, this time truly napping like a normal kitten would. Onii's tears turned to tears of joy instead of sorrow, before she looked down to Aru. And let out a gasp.

Sesshomaru got to his knee and knelt down to touch Aru's neck and feel for a pulse. He was out cold.. And not only that.. He was HUMAN?!
"Aru." Sesshomaru said, and the now human boy let out a groan and opened his eyes. Looking up to them.
"Did.. Did I do it..?" he asked. Sesshomaru shook his head and sighed, before standing up and picking up the boy.
"It's time for you two to go inside. Let Gabriel take care of you." He said, before carrying Aru in one arm, while he lead Onii in the house by the other.

The Miracle of Life- Part 2

After Sesshomaru brought the children inside, he closed the door and looked to them with annoyed eyes.
"I doubt Tenshi will let you keep that thing. Ancelin hates cats, remember? And I'm not too fond of them myself." He said, before sitting on the couch. Onii pet the kitten gently, listening to it puur, before she looked up to Sesshomaru with a pout.
"She'll let me keep it! I'll take care of it and everything!" She retorted, puffing up her chest.

Sesshomaru simply ignored Onii now, looking to Arukoru, who was busy looking over his now human body. He groaned, Tenshi was gonna be furios, and that wouldn't help his case at all. It was bad enough having to live here, now she'd make things even more irritating for him. Aru looked up in confusion, before he reached back and rubbed the top of his head, then tried to reach back and feel his wings.

"My power! It's gone! I don't feel it anymore.. And where's my Halo? And my wings?!" Aru was in sheer panic, running around in circles like a dog chasing it's tail, trying to get to what he knew he was sapposed to have. He then stopped and looked at the kitten, before realising what had happened.
"I lost my powers?!" He gasped, setting his hands on his cheeks. 'oh god.. I gave my powers to that cat! Their gone! Now I'll never be able to go back to heavan! .... Even worse... I'm... mortal' Aru thought to himself in dismay, looking over at Onii.

Onii was currently kissing the kitten's nose and playing with it.. She looked so happy. Aru let out a soft smile, well... As long as she felt better, he was happy. And he did save the kittens life. He walked over to Onii and scratched under the kitten's chin, listening to it purr.
"What are you going to name it?" He asked, and to which Onii blinked, before letting out a very warm hearted smile.
"Onii will name him... Ane..."

Ane then sat in the cups of Onii's hands and smiled, purring happily, before he started to lick under his arms. It looked like they had yet another addition to their large, strange family...

Depressed

Entry 003

Arukoru has seemed really depressed lately.. Ever sense the Ane incident. He's been sleeping in late, skipping meals, not bathing. And I know this is hard to say but he's even been drinking more. He seems so mopey and refuses to leave the house. I wish there was something I could do for him, but my magic isn't to that level and Master Gabriel says it'll build character. I don't know..

I wish there was something I could do to cheer him up, but nothing seems to help at all. I've even sent him out on play dates with Onii and one of Indu's children, but he just came home looking angry. I'm going to special order him some expensive wine, just this once. Maybe like a little pick me up.

Replacement Halo

Entry 004

The other day Arukoru asked me to buy him a new comb and some hair gel. Of coarse I obliged but with much curiosity. When I came home from the store he quickly dug inside the bags till he found them, and then locked himself in the bathroom for hours.

At first I was worried about him, but he kept answering me when I called for him, so I knew he hadn't of drowned. So I decided to go to bed. After making breakfast the next morning I went and called Arukoru to dinner, and boy was I surprised with the sight I saw.

The boy had started gelling a strand of his hair in the shape of a circle above his head. It kind of looks like a halo.. I guess this is his way of trying to make up for what he lost. I've even seen him collecting some of Ancelin's molting feathers. The poor dear.. I think I'm going to try and get him into a psychologist soon or something.. But how would a human know how to help a angel turned human cope with his new situation? It's so frustrating.

Helping Ancelin

'bee-bee-beep bee-bee-beep bee-bee-beep bee-bee-CLICK'

Ancelin's alarm clock went off without fail at exactly 9:01am. The young girls olive hand reached out and slapped the off button, knocking it onto the floor with a light clatter. With a groan An lifted her head out from under her blanket and glared at the machine on the floor. Ugh, she wanted five more minutes.

Never the less the young teenager slowly rolled out of her blankets and scooted over to the edge of the bed. She slipped into her blue half-cut, fuzzy house slippers and walked to the window, ready to let in some sunlight. The young girl opened the window, squinting a bit at the sudden gush of light. She slowly opened her eyes and let them focus on the outside.

"What's that?" She said to herself as she looked to the patch of trees outside leading into the forest. It was.. well, it looked like a nest. But it was freakin HUGE. When did that get there? Overnight? Surely not, what small bird could build a nest that big overnight, in fact, what small bird would need a nest that big?

A small bird that was in fact a big bird. That's what. Just then a large thin bird with stick legs and a long swan-like neck flew into the center of the nest and sat, adjusting it's wings. It's neck elongated and it peered around, not spotting the blue haired girl staring at it in amazement.
"Shi-shi!" Ancelin called out as she dashed out of her bedroom, running to her guardian's door.

Moments later Ancelin returned, dragging a very annoyed, very tired, and very naked looking Tenshi behind her.
"You got to see this bird, Shi." Ancelin said as the older woman rubbed sleep dust from her eyes.
"I already see a bird, one that's acting like a rooster waking me when it's not wanted." She said, before she found herself shoved by the window. Tenshi set her hands on her hips and gazed outside, seeing nothing but the large nest. The bird had apparently flown away.
"All I see is a nest." Shi said bluntly, before turning her head back to An. An gazed out the window and frowned, before she leaned against the window seal.
"Awww man, I was going to go ask it what it was too." she frowned.
"We've got the internet, just look it up." Tenshi said, before she turned around and started walking back to her bedroom. "Next time don't wake me unless it's important."
"Yes, Shi." An said, continuing to stare out the window.. That didn't sound like a half bad idea…

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Five hours spent on the computer and Ancelin wasn't getting anywhere. She had found many pages on parrots and toucans, and even a few flamingos. She had even found some rather disgusting pornography that would surely give her nightmares that night. But she didn't, however, find out what that blasted bird was. It was then that Arukoru walked up behind her, glancing over his younger housemates shoulders, staring at the screen.
"You're on the computer? Why?" he asked, Ancelin looked up at him, and let out a loud sigh.
"I was trying to figure out what kind of bird it is that's built a nest outside our window."
"I thought you could talk to birds now?" Aru asked, before he took a chug from the beer he had been holding in his hand.
"It flew away before I got the chance." she explained. Aru nodded his multi-colored head and stared at the screen for a few moments.
"Here, let me help. Scoot over." the boy said, and Ancelin did just that. She stood and left the chair open for Aru, who sat down and instinctively pulled up a search engine.
"What'd it look like?" He asked. Ancelin thought for a moment.
"It kind of looked like a flamingo in build, only with white, gray; and black feathers, and a little different."
"Like a stork?"
"Sort of, but not quite."
"Hmmm.."
"Sounds like a heron." Came Vincent's voice as he walked into the room. He was, as per his usual, dressed in nothing but a towel and drying his hair with a second. Ancelin blinked and looked over at Vincent, cocking her head to the side.
"A Harron?" Arukoru asked as he typed it into the search engine, and sure enough pictures of the bird Ancelin saw came up.
"It's that one! That one right there." Ancelin said pointing to the screen, Arukoru clicked the small picture and let the next page load.

"Wikipedia says it's a black-headed heron." Arukoru explained, before he adjusted the monitor for Ancelin to see. The pheasant child read it over slowly.
"It says it eats fish and frogs.. I could probably feed it some of my feeder fish I get from the pet store." She said, Arukoru looked at Ancelin with a raised eyebrow, before he nodded his head.
"I suppose so, but it's probably just migrating. I mean, why would a bird like that be out here in the country?"
"But it built a nest, it wouldn't build a nest unless it was planning on roosting." Ancelin retorted.
"It's last home was probably destroyed for human construction." Vincent suggested. "You thinking of turning it into a pet, An?"
"No.. But I'd really like it if it stayed, it's a really pretty bird." An said as Aru skimmed over the page more.
"Well, we could make it a reedbed and put those feeder fish you where talking about in it, give it someplace to feed."
"You're right. I'm going to go to the hardware store and the pet store to get supplies, do you guys want to come with?" An asked, looking to her older 'siblings'. The two men nodded.
"I don't have anything better to do." Aru said.
"Sure, let me go get dressed." Vincent answered, before walking off towards his room.

------------------------------------------------

After a trip to the hardware store, the pet store where Steve worked, and a few hours spent in the backyard digging and watering with the garden hose, the three young adults stood there wiping sweat from their brows. It wasn't exactly pretty, but it was a reedbed. They had gotten one of those plastic ponds from the hardware store and had but it a few feet from the tree the heron had built it's nest in. After filling it with dirt and some Lilly pads, they had decided to call it quits for the day.

Ancelin stood outside by herself, letting out the last of the feeders from their plastic bags into the water. She had to make sure the water temperature and PH levels where good enough to keep the feeders alive, but feeders where never that difficult to care for.

Just then Ancelin heard a rustling in the tree above her, and she shot her head up to see what had made the sound. It was the heron, and along with it was a second; most likely it's mate. It had returned to it's nest for the night, and was staring at Ancelin with large eyes.
"It's the human that was watching us this morning." Said the first heron, the second arched his head and let out a caw.
"She seems to have built a water pond. Do you think she did it for us?"
"I did." Ancelin suddenly answered, looking up to the two birds. They both squawked in shock that the girl understood her, and looked to each other.
"You did? You did this for us?"
"Yes." Ancelin answered again.
"Why?" Asked the two birds in unison.
"Because I want you to stay." An said with a smile.

"Ancelin, dinners going to be ready soon." said a voice from the back door, it was Tenshi. She looked to the birds with little interest, and then walked back inside. An watched Tenshi, before she looked back to the birds.
"I have to go in and clean up before dinner, enjoy the fish." She said with a smile. "Goodnight." she said, before she walked back into the house. Maybe, just maybe, the birds would stay.
