Chachili's eyes gleamed.
"Nine of you..." she whispered, beginning to circle Leini, and taking in Koin's distant scent on her coat, "Nine! I... can't believe it..."
Tsuki watched the spectacle in awe. There seemed to be a small amount of magic happening between the klipspringer and her new playmate... well, at least the preybeast seemed touched. Tsuki wasn't sure of the connection between these two animals, but she watched, quietly for the moment, biding her time. She'd butt into the conversation sooner or later.
Chachili, on the other hand, looked straight into the wild dog's eyes. Koin's girl. One of nine. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Your father, little one..." Chachili began, smiling softly, "Is a good friend of mine. A guardian at times, you might say."
Tsuki, at once, picked herself up off the ground and wagged her tail. She had been right, all along! Awakening this prey animal had resulted in something precious after all... a story. And not just any old story.
It concerned Leini.
"Well, tell us more, meaty," Tsuki said, and Chachili cast her an ungrateful glance.
"Call me Chachili, both of you," she growled, darkly, "I'm no meat of yours. In fact, it would do you no justice to kill me," she turned to Leini, "Your father is my dearest friend. We met, when I was birthing. He watched over me afterwards, giving me strength as I slept. I am forever grateful to him," she dipped her head, "Any child of Koin is a friend of mine. What's you name, little one?"

"So you're the one," Leini said.
"Father... He told us about you, Miss Chachili," Leini said with respect after learning the Klips' name.
"My name's Leini," The white wild dog said. She pawed a blade of grass. She got distracted easily.
She looked back up to the Klipsringer. "Makuu and Kukuru right?" Leini asked. "Father told us about them..."
Leini tilted her head lightly to listen to both the Klips and the Maned wolf. One ear was at attention to Tsuki and the other was in attention to Chachili.
Her concentration was bound to go elsewhere soon, as she seemed to not be able to hold focused with one thing for too long.

Chachili bowed her head.
"Leini, huh?" she grinned, and then gave a chuckle, "Great name you have there. Does that name have a meaning, by any chance, or is it unique to itself?"
She was in pure heaven. Looking upon a child of Koin was something she'd always wanted to do. She'd always known that Koin was going to make a good father!
At the mention of Kukuru and Makuu, she flinched and stiffened, but she had long thrown the memory away. Kukuru and Makuu were not part of her life anymore... with Mkimya and Pura, there was no need for anymore brooding or guilt. Yet, she still felt it...
"Makuu and Kukuru, huh?" she paused, and then gave Leini a weak smile, "That's right. My own... I suppose Koin's wondering about them, too."
She couldn't tell the pup. She couldn't tell Koin that she'd disowned her own children. It just wasn't... right! She didn't want to speak on the topic any more than she needed to, but to Chachili's anger, the little maned wolf piped up again.
"You had kids?" she asked curtly, "Is that right? Where are they now, then? Off playing somewhere?"
Chachili's blood boiled, and she turned away.
"Tell me one thing, Leini," she growled, "Why are you playing with such a loud-mouth as that little-"
"Oh yeeeaaah?" Tsuki leaned forward, stepping in front of Leini, "My friend here can play with whoever she wants."
Tsuki was starting to get excited. Stirring up the preybeast seemed fun. Chachili snorted, and looked to Koin's girl.
"Maned wolf aside," she said, ignoring Tsuki,"I'd love to meet your father one day, if that would be alright."

"My name means Delicate," Leini said with a smile. "Though I'm far from it..."
Lieni wriggled lightly. She loved her father dearly. He was a great father in her eyes.
"I think he is. But I'm not sure. Haven't asked him," she said sweetly.
"Ah... I think we should treat Miss Chachili with respect. She is my father's friend. My father make friend's with the right people..."
Leini took a small step back when the Klips growled.
"Alright," Leini nodded happily, forgetting that she JUST backed away from the 'vicous' klips.

Chachili eyes glimmered warmly at the pup. Any child of Koin's would be considered a daughter of hers, although she would not say it out aloud. Her chest swelled with pride at the sight of the youngster. And then, forgetting the pain of Kukuru and Makuu, she strengthened. Chachili wanted to meet with Koin.
It had been too long.
"Please, Leini," Chachili said, softly, "When you next meet your father, won't you tell him to come and meet me? And his mate. I'd love to see your mother, or hear about her at the very least."

"I don't know if mother would come..." Leini said truthfully. "But I've got a sister that looks like her... except sister has red eyes like father. Mother has green eyes," Leini said. "Only two of my siblings have greed eyes. The rest have red," Leini noticed herself get sidetracted.
"I'll tell father," Leini said. Leini's tail whipped up some dust at how fast it was wagging.

Tsuki sat, watched quietly, as the two shared tongues.
"Ah, I see," Chachili nodded, "But still, I'd love to see your siblings. Love to see them. And Koin, of course."
Her own, stubby tail started to wag. It usually didn't do that, and it looked quite a sight, but Chachili was so pleased that she didn't mind.
Tsuki looked to the sky. Night was approaching. Soon, she'd need to get home to star-gaze... maybe she could show Leini, sometime. She thought about it. She was only young. A friend was something she didn't have right now. Sure, she had a brother. But... still.

"I'm sure they would all be pleased to see you as well..." Leini said with a smile.
Leini noticed Tsuki wasn't talking. "You're quiet..." she said with a tilt of her head.
The white wild dog looked up to the sky as well. It was beginning to darken, but she wasn't worried.

Tsuki blinked her yellow eyes, and glanced at Leini.
"Ah, sorry about that," she looked away, and turned her muzzle to the heavens, "Just thinking about... stuff. Say, Leini. Ever tried gazing before?"
The stars seemed to have told better stories than the klipspringer could. In fact, Tsuki had been rather disappointed. There was no excitement for her in Chachili's story.
"See, the stars are interesting..." she nodded, and flashed her new friend a grin, "More interesting than this preybeast here, and-"
Chachili gave a warning snort.
Tsuki grinned.
"Maybe you want to... I don't know..." she blushed a little, feeling embarrassed. She'd never asked anyone to join her before.
Maybe you want to come star-gazing with me sometime?
She couldn't say it. When it came to making friends, Tsuki had no clue.

"Stars?" Leini asked. She only managed to stay up to see the stars a few times. It was rather fun!
Leini grined. "I've never really gazed. I've fallen asleep most of the time..." she answered truthfully.
Leini glanced at Chachili as she snorted.
"Want to...?" Leini urged he lightly to continue.
(( Dx It's shooort again! ))

Tsuki's eyes lit up.
"You'd really want to come?" she asked, her tail whirling, "Really?"
Chachili rolled her eyes, and then turned to walk away.
"Oi, preybeast," Tsuki's voice called to the klipspringer before she could walk further, "You coming, too?"
Chachili blinked. Why would she be invited, too? But then, she lowered her head and chuckled.
"Nah, I'd better be on my way. Like you really want me there, anyway. Apprechiate the invite, though, little one. Not really fond of looking at those... uhhhh... 'fireflies in the sky', though."
Tsuki looked away, disappointed. She thought Chachili was interesting. Not as interesting as Leini, of course, but still interesting. The little maned wolf turned to face her friend.
"Very well, preybeast. See you again some other time, maybe. Leini, want to come with me? I know of this really great place to look from... just near my place! Come on, come on!"
Chachili grinned, shook her head, and walked away.
"Kids these days," she sighed, "Are so darn innocent, aren't they?"
She smiled, and walked away into the night.

"Sure!" Leini said. "I'd love to come!"
Leini wriggled in anticipation. Maybe Tsuki would keep her up to see the stars!
"Fireflies?" Leini question, though it was after the Klippy walked away. She directed it towards Tsuki.
Leini laughed. "Let's go then! Let's go!" she said excitedly.

Tsuki nodded.
"Fireflies. The preybeast meant the stars, I'm pretty sure. Apparently, a while ago, a rumour was started up by some meerkat that the sky was made of the insects, stuck in some sticky black net," she shook her head, "Rubbish, though. I like to believe that they're something else."
And she would tell Leini what she meant. But not here. Somewhere different, on top of the big hill. The perfect spot for gazing.
"Well, follow me! I know the way to the best place... you'll be astounded by it when it gets dark, it's just amazing!"
Tsuki ran. It was time to show the wild dog the stars.

Leini blinked curiously at the Maned Wolf's explination. It was interesting. She didn't question it though.
Leini took a step forward as she listened. But then. Tsuki started running. The white and dust colored wild dog ran after the white and grey wolf. How Exciting!

Tsuki ran. Oh, how she ran! The wind whistled past her, forcing her to slow down a little, but the maned wolf kept going. Every now and then, she would stop to check if Leini was still behind her.
And so, she reached the promised place. The hill ahead was very steep, and came off as a cliff at it's edges. Tsuki's mother had warned her that it was a dangerous place to go without an adult's supervision, but Tsuki didn't think anything could go wrong.
Parents just said those things to make sure that you didn't run off.
"You still there?" she called out behind her, wondering if Leini was still there, "We're here! Just got to climb all the way up there."
She nodded to the ledge above. It wasn't that far to reach, but there was a large drop if you looked over it's edge.
