Neat! There were people who taught things about dragons. Now she coudl understand why Nara was so excited when discussing the subject of dragons. They really were interesting.
"Stave? What is that?" she asked only vaugely getting an idea it was some form of weapon used to fight with but she had never seen one before.
"Could you show me?" she asked hopeful, and then remembered that the shop keeper would probably throw her out since she was pertty young to be in the store.
"er...if that is ok I mean.."

"A staff," Alaqua corrected the younger girl. "It's kind of a long stick." She glanced over to where the shopkeeper sat, wondering what he'd think of the younger girl being there. "Here, I'll bring one back. You stay here with Bob."
The koala girl stood and wandered over a couple of aisles to where the staves were kept. They were actually out, unlike most of the weapons. All of the sharp weapons were locked behind glass cases, but she guessed that a staff wasn't too dangerous to just set out. She picked up one and carried it back to where Zyan sat.

Staff. Right a Staff. Okay, Zyan gave the girl a raised eyebrow as she stood up and went to go retreive the weapon. Boy who knew she woud find someone so knowledgable here? She continued to scratch Bob around his muzzles and nose. He was soo nice! Compared to Keir who was jus snobby.
As the girl appraoched again carrying the staff she tilted her head .. "Its...a large stick." she commented.

Ala chuckled. "Well... yeah, basically. But it's what one of my teachers taught me to use..." She wouldn't mention that the first one didn't teach her anything and just tried to kill her instead... No sense in scaring the little kid. "It hurts plenty enough if you get hit with it." Oh boy, did she know that!

Well yes... it would hurt being hit with a heavy shaft of wood. but you would get the same result from a baseball bat. If not a better one.
"Wouldn't a bseball bat do more damage?" she asked wondering if she was wrong. Perhaps a baseball bat wasn't as balanced at the staff.
"they have metal bats as well as wood ones. Buti think the metal ones would probably dent too quickly." she continued as she then scooched closer to Bob and used both her hands to stratch under his chin as well his neck.

Alaqua blinked at the girl's question. "Uh, well... I dunno..." A bat would be cheaper, but a staff was just too cool to pass up like that. "You wouldn't be able to twirl it, though..." She mused, aloud.
Bob gave a happy grunt-purr noise, thumping his tail softly against the floor to express his content with this little girl. Hey, maybe they should just take her home with them! Then she could always scratch him!

Never thought of that. No...you can't twirl a bat. at least...not gracefully or well. "Guess that makes sense. She said with a quiet laugh which kinda sounded like a cough.
"I want to be a ninja when i get older...do ninja's use staffs?" she asked remembering a conversation she had with a bull boy when she was little. Ninja's fought prantis style, she better do the same thing as them.

Ala paused for a moment, before shaking her head. "No, ninjas use small knives or throwing stars or something smaller..." At least, she hadn't seen any ninjas use a staff before. "Or they just use their hands..." she added, after a moment.

Zyan looked up at the sounds of hands. "Hey i am really good at catching things! I hardly almost rarely miss! want to see?" she asked sounding rather excited. So ninja's used their hands? well then so would she!
She withdrew from Bob to give herself enough arm space and then looked to Ala again. "Throw something at me. not to big or heavy though."

Ala looked at the girl, a bit apprehensive. She glanced around the shelves, looking for something small and light, but not sharp or pointed. And that was near impossible to find. But she found some piece of rock (the label on the bin said whetstone... no idea what that was) that didn't seem too heavy as she picked up one of the smallest pieces.
"Okay... here ya go..." Ala gently tossed the rock towards the younger girl.

It was like a blurr. Her eyes followed everymovement and then snatch! She held out the peice of rock between two finges to show Ala proudly.
"I hardly miss, my brother says it is because of the DNA i am, he doesn't think it is just a natural talent." she said with a pout but then brightened again.
"but even if he is right it is pretty cool right?"

Ala blinked as a flash of white and green and orange occured. "Wow..." she whispered, amazed. "You are fast!"
About this time, the shopkeeper decided to walk about the store, curious as to where that strange fuzzy girl and that dragon had gone to. He was fairly sure they hadn't left and they had been rather quiet lately... And kids added with quiet usually equaled trouble. Hopefully, they hadn't broke anything... of value at least...

She smiled at the compliment. "Yah I am fast!" she confirmed, "but...i am not 100% perfect at it. Sometimes i over estimate and then end up stubbing my fingers or having the item hit me instead." she explained with a very small grin. Sure that part was imbarressing but usually that only happened if she was only half assidly paying attention.
Zyanya's antenna twitched as she heard the sound of movement in their direction. "Fu.." she stopped herself. Bad Zyan bad! her mom had scolded her more than once for swearing so she looked around wide eye'd trying to figure out what she should do, but there wasn't really anywhere to hide, she doubted if she ran that the person wouldn't notice her fleeing form. So she crouched low and tried to use Bob as cover and was perfectly still.

Ala turned as she heard the shopkeeper draw closer. She stepped out of the aisle and into the man's sight, hoping that if he spotted her, maybe she could distract him and keep Zyan from being discovered. Bob opened his wings some to help hide the little girl, hopefully...
The man spotted the koala girl as she stepped out in front of him. "Still 'ere?" he asked, a bit grumpily.
"Yes, sir. I was just looking at some of the other weapons..."
The man grunted. "W'ere's tha' runt tha's wif you?"
Alaqua pointed down the aisle, which the man couldn't see down at that moment. "He's just behind me. I think he's looking at a knife back there..."
The shopkeeper grunted again. He wished the girl would just leave. He wasn't fond of kids and didn't like them hanging around his shop. And speaking of kids hanging around his shop... He spotted Chath, who the man had seen pacing around a bit. "You know 'im?" He asked Ala, jerking his thumb to point at the newt boy out the window.
Ala turned to look. "Not really... he's in a class of mine..."
The man grunted, his favorite activity, apparently, and headed back to the counter, muttering about kids under his breath.
Alaqua relaxed and gave a sigh as she walked back to where Zyan sat.

Zyanya breathed a sigh of relief as the shop keeper finally left, she then offered Ala a small smile.
"thanks.." she whispered just in case the shopkeeper had really good hearing, she then shifted position and rolled her shoulders.
"Hey my name is Z, whats yours?" she asked realizing she hadn't actually introduced herself yet. She then took a quick peek out the window and saw an exasperated Chath saying something to his dragon. Maybe she should head back? Bah he could wait a bit longer.
