"Ah yeah, that was Gaius wasn't it? I remember that," Oz recalled with a grim expression.
The full force of that fateful night had not hit him yet, and probably wouldn't until he changed again. The graves and mishapen...things...were real experiments and people who had perished here. But for now, to Oz, they were just distasteful props for a horrible Halloween gag that didn't make sense to him at the time.
"I keep secretly hoping this is one HUGE gag, and that somebody just attacked me with makeup one night while I slept," he said with an awkward laugh, since there was a little truth in his statement.

"Yeah, that'd be nice...Though you'd have to give 'em props for the feathers. See?" Marshall said, pulling one off of his face with a small 'owch'. "Good glue effects, huh?" he chuckled awkwardly. He really did with it was a dream or a prank. Most of them did, he guessed.
"So, Ozzy," Marshall said, enjoying his nick-name over Oz's real name, "Y'know what you're turning into? 'Cause to be honest...I got no clue whatcha are."

Oz winced at Marshall's demonstration, sighing heavily with the burden of truth. He'd half-accepted this place, having become accustomed to the unusual appearance of most Islanders but still battling with that 'Is it real?' at the back of his mind. Marshall didn't look or sound the type to play pranks on a 'halfie,' as Billy had affectionately dubbed him.
"You have to be the third person thats asked me that this week," he replied with another awkward laugh, filled with a hint of aggitation. He'd grown tired of avoiding the issue now.
"I...honestly...haven't got a clue, I haven't got much to go on. Aislinn seems to think maybe rhino or elephant because of the skin, but they're not exactly anything to look forward to," he huffed.

"Hmmm...Naah." Marshall said, shaking his head. Oz didn't seem like an Elephant or Rhino. Actually, Rhino wasn't out of the question, but his nose looked more...squished than long. And the grey skin?
"...Maybe you're a monkey?"

"Haha! A monkey? I doubt it, I don't have a tail coming through...yet anyways," he laughed.
Aside from idle daydreams and feverish nightmares, he hadn't given any thought to what was happening to him. And although he hated to admit it, the extra muscles and grey skin did kind of point to elephant or rhino. Maybe rhino moreso, since his nose hadn't done anything...
"Maybe I'll be a shark. They're kind of grey, or maybe a dolphin," he said, honestly taking stabs in the dark now.

"Naaahh, you're not a shark. Trust me, I know a Shark. And he ain't British. I think he's...Erm...Irish? Maybe?" Marshall said, thinking about Alec. What ever happened to him? That thought, along with the movie, made his stomach sink.
"Dolphin might work." Marshall shrugged, as if they were talking about hair-cuts.

"Ah, you're talking about Alec right? Poor bugger, stuck in a wheel chair. Same for that Billy...thing..." he idly commented, numb inside to how casual he was discussing his fellow 'experiments' turn of fate.
Eyes drifting back to the TV screen every now and then, the scenes of horrific instruments and straps and cages made him wonder just how the...mad scientists?...did the changes. It was a rather morbid inner monologue, so thats where he kept it.
"Hey, I've just realised - Christmas is this month. I keep forgetting the time of year with all this bloody warmth."

"Oohhh...Yeah. Its december, isn't it? Hee hee...I kind of slept through November it seems." he chuckled lightly. "And you've seen Alec? Huh...Thats good to hear he's okay...But a wheelchair? Really? Huh..." Marshall said, wondering what a Shark with Leaves would need that for. Oh well.
"Hmm...What to give for gifts..." Marshall muttered under his breath, rubbing his feathered chin.

"Hehe, I wish I could have slept through November, although the new look would have been a bigger shock," he laughed lightly.
He felt a little awkward in thinking of Alec's status as invalid, and wondered if it was his place to tell Marshall more. But in all honestly, it wasn't Alec's legs he was more concerned about - it was those teeth. All he had been aware of was his wheelchair.
"Yeah, I was always lousy at buying gifts. My sister always had to help me out, especially with girl stuff. I'm screwed this year," he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck idly before wincing at a gruesome scene on the TV.

"Ohhh? Whys that? Got a lucky lady waiting for you back at your duplex?" Marshall asked with a smirk and a raised eye brow. "Well, whatever you get her, make sure its some thing that you know she'd like. Or some thing pretty." Marshall said, as if he had ANY idea what to buy a girl.
"Hmmm...I'm thinking maybe...DVDs? Yeah...Easy, and I sure got a lot of 'em back at my duplex..." Marshall rambled, talking to himself mostly.

Oz needn't say anything at all to confirm the presence of a lady in his life. His expression said it all. It was a mix of of 'yeah, I have a girl' followed by 'oh s**t!.' He suddenly tensed and shifted uneasily on the couch.
"Yeah...well...this girl is kind of hard to buy for," he said sheepishly. He didn't want to reveal too much, in case Marshall would guess who it was. But would that have been a bad thing? It shouldn't be, considering Marshall's current state of animalness.

"Hmmm...Well..." Marshall said, looking up at the ceiling as if it'd answer Oz's problem for him. "Maybe some pearls?" Marshall shrugged with a smirk. He knew girls were hard to shop for; he did have a sister once upon a time. But from his experience, girls tended to enjoy jewlery. At least his mom and sister did.

If Marshall had thought it was a lame idea, Oz certainly didn't! He looked quite awe-struck and contemplative about how he could go about obtaining said pearls. He had so far been able to trust the labs, so he could ask them. But there was no knowing how he'd have to 'pay' for them.
Then, he entertained the idea of finding pearls in the waters of the Island. Afterall, it was a tropical Island. He'd need to ask for some help though, and aside from the octo-thing Billy and poor Alec, he didn't know any other able swimmers.
"Thats not a bad idea actually," he said, scratching the coarse hair just below his chin. In fact, a lot the facial hair he had when he arrived had thinned out only to thicken ON his neck and shoulders instead. "You're smarter than you look."

"I'll take that as a compliment." Marshall snickered, before letting out a giant yawn. Man, how late was it again? Two, three AM? He wasn't sure.
"Well, Ozzy my good man, I think I might be heading back to my duplex. 59, in case you wanted to drop by and scare the crap out of me again." Marshall snickered, holding the popcorn out to his large freind.

"Yeah, same for me really. I can't keep a lady waiting too long," he said as he too stretched and yawned, hauling himself to his feet.
Oz had left Sayuri in her duplex, content that was she fast asleep enough for him to sneak out and grab something to eat and drink. Although a little movie meeting wasn't on the cards, it was a cool diversion and a chance to meet someone new.
"I'm duplex 74," he replied simply but with a smile.
