Biting his lip Jack’s eye’s met the wolf’s. “How wonderful it must be to be simple enough never to question major life changing events.” stepping close enough so his breath moved the Barrin’s fun he whispered “And what happens when you see blood?”

"I make more." He replied in a husky tone, making his voice sound a little feralish. He met the other's eyes with a heated stare, not really glaring, but it could make one feel like he could see right through them, emotions and all.

Pale eyes met fierce red ones. With something akin to wonder Jack placed his hand on the wolf’s chest. “You do burn. There is a bonfire inside of you. I wonder, would I chill you or would you make me burn? I honestly don’t know if I’m brave enough to find out. Perhaps one of us should leave.” Jack said not moving.

"Perhaps both.. I know a pair, at the hospital. One is pretty much on fire whilst the other made of ice. When together they have a calming effect on each other, where their elements contridict." He said, ignoring the other's hand touching him. "I might melt the icicles that line your harsh attitude, whilst you might cool and tame my flames at the same time. People would say we'd be good for each other's health." He said, his face unchanging, he wasn't going to move anytime soon either.

“Well, this is really academic isn’t it. After all it’s not like we’re attracted to each other is it?” Jack stepped back and ran one of his hand through his long white hair. “Now where is my basket? I’ll just collect it and get out of your way.” Jack looked around and saw his basket several feet away. It was surrounded by blackbirds, and one was carrying the last piece of mistletoe form the bunch into the tree above the. “Well, damn.” was all he could manage to say.

Barrin raised an eyebrow. "Well that'll teach you to start a verbal fight when you're in the middle of doing something." He said, moving around the tree and into the forest.

“But it was the most fun I’ve had in months…” He mumbled as he grabbed his basket and ran into the forest. He didn’t know if it was to follow Barrin (what of course it wasn‘t to follow Barrin), or to gather more cuttings, but the forest held his fate at the moment.

Regardless of if he was followed or not, Barrin dissapeared for 15 minutes, before tracking down Jack and dropping a bag of Mistletoe and holly and such for the other. "b*****d or not, you was obviously doing that for someone, even if it was yourself. I couldn't let you go knowing I made you have to start over.

“Thank you.” Jack whispered looking at the bag. “But I can’t accept a gift without giving one of my own. I was collecting this for a woman who follows the Old Ways. I’ll give you a gift of the same type.” He quickly braded three strands of hair, and used his sheers to cut it off. “Here. I’m sorry if I troubled you. I did enjoy our little sparring. I respect you for keeping up. Damn” Jack said looking up. "We keep finding mistletoe above us."

Barrin glanced up, noting there was indeed Mistletoe. "Well, naturally, it grows on trees." He said, before stepping over and kissing the other on the forehead. "It dosn't say what kind've kiss it has to be, so that will do, will it not?" He said as he took the braid.

"No it doesn't, and I do think that will do quite nicely for now.” Jack said stepping back from the wolf. “I do hate to admit it, but this has been a very pleasant afternoon. Will I find you here again tomorrow?”

The wolf nodded, looking through the treetrunks. "Maybe you'll meet Jacob.. It depends on if he wants to come with me or not." He said softly, before looking back at Jack. "Unless you want me to come alone."

The angel smirked before replying, “Whatever you prefer is fine with me. Though I’ve” he paused for a moment “enjoyed” he cocked his head "our banter today.” The angel turned and walked away, and was soon hidden by the falling snow.
*** The Next Day ***
Walking into the wind the angel entered the clearing silently. Holding a larger basket then the day before he made his way to the center of the clearing, and with a small flick of his hand cleared a small plot of land of snow. Pulling an old quilt off the top of the basket he laid it down and settled in.

"Are you going to stay the night, mister?" Came a small voice, from up in the trees, where Jakob was sitting on a branch with a thick blanket. "I wouldn't.. there's going to be a blizzard soon." He looked to the sky, the horizon growing darker with thick snowclouds.

Jack looked up and a slightly annoyed look passed across his face. “I think a blizzard would be most enjoyable, however, I do not plan to stay that long. I’m simply meeting.” The angel turned away from the boy in the tree. “an acquaintance for dinner.”
