"Thats your excuse for tripping me? Sorry buddy, but you disgraced me by tripping me. I demand retribution! I challenge you to a duel, sir!" He yelled, previous activities and fatigue all but forgotten after the humiliating fall.

His swords snapped free of their sheathes. Twin rapiers of nearly identical make that shone in the sunlight. Rising to his feet, he waved the weapons loosely back and forth in a menacing fashion.

"Do you accept?"

Fool... fine then.

Evan sighed. He agreed with Hugin- the immortal that shared a mind with him was usually right. This guy was the rude one- he didn't even accept his apology- much less give him time to explain who he was or why he was out here. Well, whatever. It came down to this anyways.

"Accepted."

He casually stood in the at ease position, his hands behind his back and his legs at shoulder width. Back straight, eyes forward and staring directly at the opponent. It was always go time in the end, wasn't it?

"Come at me."

He complied. Body dashing full-tilt forward, his swords uncrossed, pointing straight toward his target like the horns of a charging bull.

He wasn't so direct, however. Just before comign within striking distance, his weapons moved. His left blade lowered, its accompanying arm moving outward then snapping back inward once again, cutting at the side of his opponents right knee with its razor, sharp edge. Meanwhile, his right blade pulled backward in a similiar manner, but rather than change directory, it stabbed straight at his heart, arm extending to its maximum length as he continued to move forward without slowing. At this rate, they'd crash together if his opponent didn't dodge.

Clever, that.

Still, he was watchful. The feint didn't bother him much, though he was remarkably fast. One who had two swords had more attack options, sure enough. But one with one, or even no weapon, had a bit more freedom of movement and access to agile manuvers.

So it shouldn't have been a surprise when Evan casually lifted his right leg, and turned it just so-

CLANG

Metal hit metal.

In the meantime, his left arm snapped from behind his back in a blur- a snake coming out from the proverbial grass to strike-

CLANG

Parried.

Perhaps this would not be such a pushover.

(I'm assuming you parried my thrust outward wide to avoid my sword just grinding past and stabbing you anyway?)

Rather than perturbed by his failure to strike his opponent, Kell grinned. He continued to move in a sprint, even with the distance between them now well within his maximum reach of his sword. As his right right foot left the dirt after pushing off from a step, it broke rythm with the opposite foot, snapping forward in a vicious front kick at his opponent's stomach. Sending the entire momentum of his charge and then some into the sole of his boot.

Meanwhile, his hands pushed inward. Though his opponent had the advantage of strength due to the fact that his weapons were closer into toward his body, if he could hold the man in just long enough to connect with his foot, then his initial attacks purpose would be fulfilled.

((Yup, you guessed it. Sorry that I wasn't more verbose.))

Now, this was interesting. One arm and one leg were busy, and now he had a foot coming towards him. On top of that, the swords that he held at bay were starting to increase the pressure. It was near-impossible to catch the other foot with the other hand, though it was now out and free...

Then again, he wouldn't have to.

As his feet shifted and broke rhythm, Evan figured (quite quickly) that it was a minor, slight opening. A broken rhythm, whether on purpose or by something on the defender's part, was a break, period.

Thus, as the kick came forward and the swords pressed inward, he shoved his right hand forwards. All that tension that was being forced through his body was about to be used against the assailant... and a blast of compressed air slammed forwards.

However... it was a bit late. The attack got off, but at the same moment the heel of Kell's right foot slammed into his gut and knocked him off balance. The only question was... did it work?

The man shot his hand forward. A punch? No. It wasn't even a palm strike. Any idiot could tell that he had the advantage of reach with his leg. It must be-

His head snapped backward, he felt the gratifying sensation of his heel digging into his oppnent stomach, and then he was airborne. Luckily his torso and bent backward slightly to let his leg extend to its maximum length, though it didn't help much. Still, if there was one element he knew, it was air. Past a haze of red, he regained his bearings upside down only a foot or two off the ground. Just enough time to right himself.

His swords slammed into the ground, jerking his body to a stop in mid-air from which he fell heavily onto his knees. -an elementalist. He freed his swords from the ground and dashed forward once more, ignoring the pain in his chest. It felt like he'd been punched right in the diaphram. If his body handn't been angle just so that the air had somewhere to go after connecting... He'd have to watch this guy. Best to get him while they were both still hurting, though. Fortunately, he had just the right weapon and defense to fight this guy.

He was just out of striking distance of his hopefully still unbalanced opponent when he made his move. Lifting his left sword over his head, she chucked it at his enemy, sending it end over end at the upper leg of the appendage that had blocked his first cut.

Then he spun, the movement appearing as if he was feinting to the left while the man had to deal with his projectile weapon. That was not the case, however. His free hand grabbed some of his cloak as he spun, pulling so that the slipping clasp would move to its maximum length then swinging it almost like a bat at his opponent. Its weighted end swung through the air toward his opponent head at surprising speed, striking at him from almost six feet away while the sword was still en route to his leg.

One didn't have to be a fighter to know that it was not quite all that easy to regain one's balance at this rate. However, he did so... as he landed on his back, Evan planted his hands on the ground and used them to shift the rest of his momentum into a backwards roll. He was in a crouching position by the time he was done..

And his eyes snapped open.

They were indigo.

"Go."

As if that were a cue, he shot forwards at a much greater speed, and almost at the same time of his opponent. The reason for this sudden burst of agility was simple- the wind was at his back. He was manipulating it to move him forward, in the manuver called the Gale Shift. Within his area of effect, he could feel the movement of the sword as it flew end over end towards his right thigh.

Thank you...

He quickly closed his arms like a trap, catching the sword in between his hands. Fortunately, this risky gamble paid off- he grasped it by the flat of the blade instead of the edge.

...For one of your weapons.

And then, he found himself in a dilemma- the weighted end of Kell's cape. His opponent was using it like a bull whip, and he was just inside its range. There was only enough time to flip the weapon around and catch it with his left hand...

WHAM

Evan- no, Hugin- was knocked sideways. However, though the pain certainly rang through his body, he had been through a lot worse. He didn't just shrug it off- hell, he couldn't. But he could use that pain- it sounds odd, but he did use it. Everything was energy to be used in the end, after all.

As he got whacked with the weighted end and was darting off in one direction- his left side, he slowed his path through the air by increasing the density of the atmosphere- it was a buffer that was about four feet away.

Thus, he promptly landed on his feet and assumed a fencing position only a moment later. He was turned to the side- left hand on left hip, right leg forward and weapon pointed casually at an upwards angle towards his opponent.

He would have to be careful of that cape this time.

Kellindel grinned. Closing in on his opponent at a slightly slower pace, swinging his cloak in slow circles with one had as he approached. Continuing in a brisk run, he brought his right side forward in a moving stance similiar to that of Evan. In short order he was so close to his opponent that their swords were almost touching.

His wrist shook ever-so-slightly, causing the tip of his sword to vibrate. Then his sword dived left and cut right at the inside of Evan's arm. His opposite hand rose, as if to clobber his opponent over the head with its weight end, but he pulled the weapon up short. Stepping forward and continuing into his cut, his hand continued to swing the end of the cape downward, then released the majority of it on the back swing as he ducked down in a movement similiar to that of a wrestler setting up take-down. The cloak rocketed over his head like a thrown stone, heading directly toward his opponents chest.

The man was a veritable treasure trove of moves and strategies- but it would be quite interesting this time. Sword was going for his weapon arm- the tip of it was aiming to saw through the skin as it vibrated. Meanwhile, he had to keep an eye on the cape- it was being used as well.

Quickly, he hopped backwards and to his right, rotating his right wrist in an attempt to catch the blade with a circular parry before it ate his arm alive. As for the cape- well, if this simple evasion was successful, the weighted end would effectively be on the ground instead of on him, and Kell would be temporarily blinded.

It would, if nothing else, buy the Raven some time.

The weighted end hitting the ground. While a logical prediction, it was only partially correct. His hand was still holding a section of cape. As it moved downward, the cape fanned out, almost entirely obscuring Kellindel's form except for his sword-wielding arm. Just like in his first attack, the sword began applying more and more pressure against his opponents blade for only a moment before the still-settling cloak exploded into movement.

In the fraction of a second he was hidden from vision, Kellindel pulled the sheathe from his weapon belt. Stepping forward and using his swords pressure as a guide to find his enemy. Then he swung his sheathe just like a bat at his opponent opposite side, stepping on the left edge of his cloak mid-swing to drag it just below his eyes so that he could be sure he connected. Being blinded worked both ways and when one had surprises it gave him a distinct advantage.

So he could fight blind, could he? Interesting.

But a strike with the sheath wasn't exactly enough- easily countered. Hugin casually blocked the attack with his left forearm, the gauntlet catching the saya and effectively slowling its path before said same forearm pushed it to the outside in a parry.

Enough foolishness.

Being blind worked two ways, that it did... and at this rate and this low stance, it wouldn't be that fun if say... he got kicked. Turning to the right- in order to keep the pressure on the opposing rapier- Hugin chambered his left leg... and shot it forward as if his leg were the firepower for a goddamn cannon.

The target- what was supposed to be Kell's head. If it connected, he would lose his advantage, be in real pain, and be knocked dizzy for a bit. And that's an understatement, seeing as a side thrust kick at this range was very painful...

Unfortunately, gravity and his step had done its work. The cloak was just low enough for him to see the attack coming. At this range avoiding it would be a bit of a trick. Still, better to try than take the hit. Disengaging his sword and pushing off with his sheathe, he quickstepped to the left with his right foot. Meanwhile his left foot moved off the cloak, its toe digging into the dirt under it and kicking up upward. Simoultaneously, his right hand grabbed the underside of his cloak and lifted it up.

Then the foot connected with his shoulder. He had shifted away specifically to make it a glancing blow, realizing that he couldn't dodge, but that did little when it came to pain. He almost dropped his sword from the impact and his body further twisted to the right, but conviently this only assisted him in his plan.

The cloak closer to his upper body moving over his enemies foot and the underside moving upward, the two ends formed an ever-tightening noose around his opponents leg, one that moved all the faster with the sudden jerk from the upper end. If he couldn't pull his leg back in time, it would become trapped in the cloth.

Just for good measure, he continued the spin, grabbing the cloak nearer his neck to jerk it even faster. He was hurting, but he couldn't let that stop him at this close range. Using the force of the kick, he dropped and continued to spin with the movement, bringing his own right leg out to sweep kick his opponents stablizing leg. His right arm, though in a good bit of pain, he managed to wrap in his cloak to pull with all his strength. If he caught the mans other leg, the man would soon find himself on the ground

For good measure, he quickly transfered the sword to his good hand while turning and thrust the point of the weapon at his right hip. Assuring an effective attack whether or not he fell.

How damned irritating...

The cloak had almost wrapped around his leg... almost. But the side thrust kick was designed to attack and retreat quickly- a power move that was meant to be a quick but painful stab instead of a killing blow. As it retreated, the sweep came. There was one simple way to settle this problem...

Because the left leg that was pulled up was a stance in its own right... Crane Stance. A stance that was not only capable of the sheer power of the legs, but if used properly, advanced aerial manuvers as well. The leg that came sweeping towards his would suddenly find no purchase as Hugin bent his supporting leg and jumped into a forward sault, tucking his legs in as he sailed through the air.

Coincidentally- if this worked, that was... the thrust that was meant for his right hip would sail clean underneath him.

Without missing a beat, Kellindel continued his spin, bringing his sword around at his somersaulting enemy. There were three very dangerous weaknesses to such a movement in a fight. First, he was in the air which cut his manueverability to nigh-zero, though his abilities might aid him in this area. Second, while flipping, it would likely be very difficult to see any incoming attack, which hindered his only strength in this position. And third, while tucked into a ball he had even less chance of manuevering or defending himself.

Grabbing the handle of his sword in both hands, he waited until the flip caused his back to be exposed and slashed with all his strength, cutting needlessly far toward his enemy to assure a hit. Meanwhile, he used the shift in his elbows to manuver his cloak behind him once more and nearer his left side. The moment he was done slashing, he would grab the garb and swing it under his opponent then unfurl it beneath where he was to land and jerking it out from under him the moment he made contact.
