September 10, 2006 - Gaian Calendar
For so long I've been seeking something to heal the wounds that Selene left in my heart. It's lonely without her prescense, especially after all of this time among mortals, who couldn't possibly understand what I've been through.
Finding a companion might help me heal my wounds.
On second thought, no that won't do. No mortal can compare with Selene's beauty, or for that matter, would look as sultry, even when painted nude, in oils.
Animals won't do either, a lot of them just don't seem to get along well with me..
Ah, finally a decent idea.
Addition Later in the Day.
I adopted a child.
I know, after my sons...at least I know how to deal with them now. But, this is a simple mortal child, apparently not from this world. Fitting really.
He looks a good deal like me, with his dark hair and fair skin. Though, he does have feline ears and a tail. No matter about that, it makes him seem more...cute almost.
Apparently his previous adopted parent had not treated him well, so he is rather shy. Hopefully I can sure him of that, and eventually teach him to awaken his creative spirit.
I almost forgot, the boy's name is Shidiomi.

Shidiomi truelly is a shy boy. It seems he was so neglected he barely makes a sound.
I'm being as tender and gentle as possible, while relearning how to deal with an infant. He adores attention, and always seems to want to be near by me, which I'm not suprised about in the least.
It's a pity I'm unable to get a nurse for him. It's supposed to be much better for children to feed naturally rather than from bottles. That reminds me to make note of another thing. Shidiomi is eating well, which means his weight will improve, he is underweight at the moment.
I did start working on a crib for him, and it's nearly finished. In the meantime he's sleeping in a old bascinette I found at a second hand store and fixed up for him.
I should be getting him some toys soon, it might help his mood and give him something to do. While I'm at it, I should get a playpin as well.
Time to make a list I suppose, after I feed Shidiomi dinner and put him to bed that is.

Shidiomi actually smiled today.
Considering how he has been acting, that's a huge improvement for the better. I still have to find some toys for him, in the meantime, I did get him a "blankie", which he never lets go of.
His crib is finished and it's in my room for now, so I can make sure he is well during the night. It's the best I can do for him now.
Either way, Shidiomi is giving me that look. It means he is hungry, time to go make breakfast.

Corde's DiarySeptember 18, 2006 - Gaian Calendar I took Shidiomi out for a shopping trip yesterday. We bought groceries, baby clothes and other baby necesities. I also, admittedly, bought him a few little gifts for when he is a bit older. It was cute, he brought is blanket everywhere we went. I should do a painting of him before he grows up too much. A silk fan from the same shop that mine was made in. It's beautiful, colored dark aqua and purple, with an overlay of swirled black lace, in a victorian style. I really hope he takes care of it, that being said...he's definately not getting it until he is older. The other thing I bought him was a blank journal. It seemed sort of plain, so I bought patterned velvet to cover it. Half its pages are lined, and half of them blank, so he can draw or do whatever he likes with it. It's funny, I'm sitting here just writing while he's on the floor nearby, gumming on his blankie. He really likes to smile, it's cute...it's rare that he's not smiling now. Oh, he discovered how to laugh the other day, and it seemed to startle him to begin with. The face he made after he laughed was so adorable. Then he just went back to smiling. Perhaps I should go buy a baby book for him, so I can record all those special little things. That's just something I've heard normal parents do. - CordeP.S. - Oh yeah, I forgot I did get him a few stuffed toys today. Little dragons...I think they are actually supposed to be called "Tiny Dragons". They are cute though.

Shidiomi rolled onto his belly today. I actually saw him, I was sitting on the couch reading a book, while he was playing on the floor on his blankie. I suppose he'll be crawling before I realise it.
Oh a funny story about the other night, he and I were eating dinner. (Well, more like I was eating dinner and attempting to feed him.) He threw a tantrum, because he wanted to feed himself. So, I let him try. He made a HUGE mess, but it was absolutely adorable. I took pictures, hopefully I'll get them developed soon.
I do have to go clean up the kitchen, now that Shidiomi is in his crib for the night.
I'm so proud of my boy.

Crawling for the First Time
September 22, 2006 - Gaian Calendar
Each day the little kitten boy learned more and more. Not long ago he had rolled over, just the other day he learned how to hold himself up on his hands. Now he was a little bit closer to crawling and a little more freedom.
His daddy was on the couch, laying there watching him play on the floor and making funny faces and smiling at him when he looked over. The kitten boy was beaming back. He liked it when his daddy smiled, because he knew he was okay. He had gumming on the side of his blanket, gurgling and laughing the whole time, doing what babies do all the time.
His dragon plushies were sitting on the floor around him. They are his favorite toys after all. He reached for the one in front of him, and realised it was just too far away. Whimpering a little he looked over at his daddy who was watching him.
"You want that?"
He pointed to the dragon and kitten boy's bottom lip puckered into a little pout, like he would cry. His daddy laughed.
"Don't cry Shidiomi..you can get the dragon."
The kitten boy looked toward the toy again. It wasn't that far away really. He let go of his blanket and reached for it. That wouldn't work, so he sat up a little and tried again. Still not close enough.
A little closer maybe. He tried to scoot forward and got a little closer and his daddy sat up on the couch, but Shidiomi didn't notice.
The boy reached for the dragon. Now it was a lot closer...maybe now he could...yes he reached it! He pulled the dragon plushie and chewed on it's small wing, and squealed. He had gotten the toy! Daddy was right!
The next thing he knew he was being scooped up by his Daddy and kissed on the forehead and smiled at. He had done something good then.
"Shidiomi..you crawled."

I can't believe Shidiomi crawled the other day, it's so early I was suprised. He's getting really good at it to, following me all over the house, where he can get to at least.
I took him to the park today, since it was nice outside. I layed him out on his blanket with some toys. He seemed to enjoy it and he spent a lot of the time watching the other people at the park and the animals around.
I'll be taking him back in a few days when the weather is nice.
Ah, it's so late already...I have to give Shidiomi a bath, and get him ready for bed.

Toddler Growth LOTK You hear a loud sound and than you start to hear giggles from Shidiomi.... Maybe you should go and check on him.... mistalina13 Corde was sitting on his bed reading and Shidiomi was in his nursery, playing with his stuffed dragons on the floor. He heard the little boy laughing, so he closed his book and decided to go check on him. He got up from his bed and walked over to the door to the joint bathroom, which would lead him to Shidiomi's nursery. The nursery door on the far side was open, and from there he had a view of Shidiomi. Corde leaned against the doorway and smiled. LOTK There shidiomi was sitting next to his dragons, but wasn't at the moment quite playing with them. For in his hands held a gigantic strawberry pillow and what's this he looks he looks. Oh he's gotten older. He looks up at you a smile on his face. "DADDY! LOOKIE! ME OLDERS NOWY!" He says hugging the pillow.  mistalina13 Corde straightened himself and walked into Shidiomi's nursery. "So you are." He grinned and noticed the strawberry pillow. That had been in the boys care bag when Corde picked him up at the adoption center, he seemed to like it as much as he liked the dragons.
"Well, your getting to be a big boy now. Lets go get some breakfast and we can go with the playground at the park."

October 2nd, 2006 - Gaian Calendar
I must have been so caught up, I forgot to copy something from his baby book into here. He learned to speak a while back. His first word was "Daddy", it was so adorable!
It hasn't been too long, but so much has happened. Just the other day Shidiomi learned to walk. I'm really suprised, I thought it would take longer. I'm proud none the less. I suppose I should explain how this happened:
We were in the kitchen and he was playing on the floor and wanted a snack. I told him it would be a minute, I was cutting up fruit for him, he whined and started to throw a fit. I told him if he wanted it any sooner, he would have to come over and get it. He grabbed the side of the chair and pulled himself up (he's known how to do that since not long after he learned to crawl), then he just...let go the chair and toddled over to me.
I saw him do that and I wasn't paying attention, and I nearly cut my hand with the knife I was using.
The other thing, is that he's grown quite a bit. I just noticed it when I saw him in his room the other night. He looked so adorable in his strawberry pajamas.

I filled out the paperwork to sign Shidiomi up for school today. I know he's a little young..but he's in kindergarten so it's mostly fun. I told him about some things he might be able to do at school, and thats what got him excited about going. He loves learning and is very curious, so he should do well. I'm not sure who his teacher is going to be, so I'll go with him to the class the first day to meet her (or him).
He starts class tommorrow, so hopefully he'll get some sleep and not be grouchy. I have to ask him what he wants to wear tommorrow, before he goes to bed tonight.
Also, that strange birthmark on his cheek is more prominent now than it was when he was a baby, perhaps I should find out about it.

Starting School
October 6, 2006 - Gaian Calendar
Shidiomi was excited about his first day of Kindergarten. He hoped he would be able to make lots of new friends and have fun. He was hyper and happy until he actually got to the school, then he went back to being his usually shy self.
He did make one friend though, a little boy named Tidus. They ended up playing together most of the day until it was time to go home. Shidiomi even asked on the way home if they would be able to have Tidus over one day to play.
So it turned out to be a very good day.

I took Shidiomi out Trick or Treating, because I didn't find out about the halloween party at the center until after we had other plans. It was still a lot of fun for both of us. I got him a cowboy costume, it was one that the clerk at the costume store recommended. He figured out to say 'Trick or Treat' really quickly, and it was quite cute.
Shidiomi's first days at school have gone well too, though he really only talks to that little boy he met on the first day. I still need to see about having him over for a playdate or something.
And it's certainly strange, to given children schoolwork to do at home at such a young age, granted it's nothing difficult. I guess they figure practice can't hurt.

Mistalina's JournalJanuary 12, 2007 - Gaian Calendar I suppose I should use my first entry to introduce myself. My name is Mistalina and I'm going to be taking care of Shidiomi from now on. Corde had to leave this place, so he's left the boy in my care. I am an Elven Tiefling, an elf of dark descendant, mixed with a succubus' blood to be exact, though I have none of their powers. Shidiomi has been in my care since last evening, and the boy has done little other than weep. He misses Corde and there is little I can do to comfort him. He'll adjust though, since he's young. I've taken Shidiomi to school for the day, hopefully that will help ease his sadness when he sees his friends again. In the mean time I must get to setting his room up. I'll use the empty bedroom at the end of the hall near mine.

Mistalina's JournalJanuary 16, 2007 - Gaian Calendar Shidiomi is an adorable child, and suprsingly enough my partner doesn't mind having him around a whole lot. Especially since he's mostly quiet and quite well behaved. Which is good. We got Shidiomi's room set up just down the hall from our own, it may seem a bit grown up for him now it should be suitable for quite a long time. I'm not feeling well these last couple of days, so I need to rest. It feels like what some people here refer to as the 'flu'. I need to run to the pharmacy, I probably won't be able to write much more today. 22 January: Actual RP changed the circumstances a bit.
