What do you do when you're tempted? As we know, Jesus was tempted in the desert after walking through it for 40 days. If He was tempted, we'll be tempted also! Here are the main 3 temptations the devil tries to get us to buy into.
A physical need. (this could even include the need for survival: in Rev. it describes the tribulation, and Jesus said if you lose your life, you will find it, etc. (don't commit suicide! ninja )) "Man does not live on bread alone, but on the Word of God." was His reply.
Possessions. "worship me, and I will give you all the stuff in the world! Everything you've ever dreamed of!" This one's hard, because he knows what stuff we're interested in. Jesus replied "Do not test the Lord your God." He refused to worship him.
Authority. "Jump off this cliff here, and command your angels concerning you to lift you up." Now, this is where it's confusing. If he's tempting you to do what he wants, we already have the authority (Jesus IS the authority!) But, why would he tempt us to get authority if we already have it? In order to gain MORE authority?
I guess I just answered my own question! When it comes to temptation, he wants us to want MORE! It's never enough! And the worst part is, it seems right because the lie is, just a LITTLE more. Just a LITTLE.

Well, I have been having issues with temptations lately also. Its really really really really hard not to give in. But im getting better. I have been praying, and asking God to help me to control this problem. And Lately I have learned that to get in control of sin. Your Spirit has to be in control of your mind and body. (Its kinda cool, we have a trinity also. Spirit, Mind, and Body)
Well, I have gotten to were every time I am tempted, I say to my self "My spirit is in control" over and over, and I distract myself with something else to do. So far, its working pretty well. I havnt given in to temptation since I started declaring that "My spirit is in control" over my Mind and Body.
