Well I have both games and they are both excellent. I have not been a fan of R6 games for any length of time at all, but this one has certainlly prevailed too peek my intrests.
I'll note some ups and downs of them both.
They both have smoke grenades, but only R6 has thermal vision.
Frags are easier to lob accuratly and fast in R6, In GoW you have to hold down L and align your throw ( which isn't very quick ).
There is a larger selection of weapons in R6, but in GoW it is setup fair where everyone has the same weapon set.
GoW has a dash, roll, and swap cover ability which makes the game a bit more fast pased and gives close up battles a fun twist.
R6 and GoW have several game types but GoW game types are all team based.
These are just some of the diffrances but feel free to add more that you notice.
Overall in my opinion I like R6 better although it is a very close call.
GoW does not have several game types it has 3 unlike R6 witch has like 6 or 7 i dunno but i will add some stuff on both games
GoW is more gore and graphics are alot better then R6
R6 you can custumize your weapons and character in GoW you can only custimze where the weapon spawns
GoW is more of a team based game meaning you need your team mates. in R6 you can probably take the whole team if you got the right weapons or at least in terrorist runs.
R6 co-op is up to 4 players Gears is only 2 (that doesn't really matter though but dont matter)
GoW run on a LMS gametype when R6 could be played either way
R6 has a better ranksystem or should i say "has a ranksystem"
The Leaderboards on GoW is rigged (i dunno about R6 though)
in Gow there is Melee attacks in R6 there is none
both games are awsome but i think GoW geting a liitle boring after a while it's still bad a** though and i cant say the same cuz i haven't played R6 very long
