The day after the sun had set on a part of his life, Edward had wandered. Losing himself in his own thoughts. What he had wanted, what might have been... wouldn't come to pass. All he had ever wanted in this life, was taken away from him. Was it too much to ask? Apparently so, and the one kitsusagi he had wanted to be close to... so very close to, was now with another. Self pity wasn't like Edward, but then... love was a complicated emotion.

He needed to be alone for awhile. To lick his wounds and regroup himself before he could face the world and its harsh realities again. Tears had come and gone as he walked, eventually settling himself down beside a stream. He never thought that Lilianna, or anyone here for that matter, could hurt him this much. But she had made her choice, and he wouldn't go back on what he'd said. If Endless brought her happiness, then so be it. He would just have to deal with his own feelings... somehow.

"Poor Edward."
A voice hissed, laced with a certain malicious venom, and a mocking undertone.

The teen sprang to his feet, glancing around as his senses were on full alert. "Who said that?!" he demanded, not able to find the source of the voice.

There was several moments of silence before a figure dropped down from the trees and landed squarely on the smaller kitsu's back, pressing him to the ground while an appendage wrapped itself tightly around his throat. "Did you miss me?" the voice hissed into the youth's ear.

Startled, and with the wind knocked out of him, Edward's wide gaze soon narrowed as he saw locks of green hair drapping over him. He struggled, but the homunculus was far stronger. "What do you want, Envy?" he seethed. Of all the times to run into the sin.

"What do I want? Tch. I've been watching you Edward Elric, and as much as I would like to end your pathetic life. I've come to enjoy watching you squirm." A beastly grin spread across Envy's maw as the teen did just that, strugging and writhing beneath his larger and stronger form.

As if on cue, another form came around from behind a tree, causing Edward's eyes to widen again. A familiar form padding carefully and quietly towards him. "Lilianna?" he croaked, his voice strained with Envy's forelimb wrapped around his neck. Envy was right there... so surely... this couldn't be a trick. But why was she here? The kitsusagi he had come to love, approached and spoke to him... "Edward." It was then that she kissed him, a pained expression coming over his face. But wait... this wasn't Lilianna... the way she kissed him. It wasn't the same.

A sharp yelp came from 'Lilianna' as Edward's teeth sank into her lip, drawing blood. She pulled back, the startled moment causing the form of the winged girl to melt away and reveal Envy's daughter, Charity. Sitting back on her haunches and lifting a paw to her bleeding lip, turning hateful golden eyes on him. "You little brat!" she snapped, paw lashing out to swipe her claws across his face.

This time it was Edward's turn to yelp as the claws left deep slash marks upon the side of his face. Missing his eye by some miracle. However, his glare was turned full force on Charity. So... this was the one Terasu told him about, and she could change her form. Edward snarled as he heard Envy's amused voice above him.

"Don't like her? And here you had the chance to have what -you- wanted."

"Why the hell would I want something like -that-!"

Envy's grip on Ed's throat tightened and Charity snarled and bristled. "No need to get ugly. She's my daughter after all... I have a mate you know. A family." He let those words sink into Edward's head, "What is it that you, Edward Elric, have at the end of the day, hm?"

Edward couldn't find his voice, for Envy's words cut deep. Deeper than he would have imagined. The pain in his eyes returning. What did he have?

"Hm? I can't heeear you.." the sin leaning down, that same malicious grin on his maw as he whispered into Edward's ear. He knew the answer to his own question, and thus said so. "Nothing." And with that, Envy released Edward and leaped back up into the trees from where he came. Charity was quick to follow. The pair of them leaving the teen with his thoughts once more.
