OH s**t BIG LION.
Angaza spun, knocked onto his back and yelped sharply as he felt his hind leg snap. This was enough to drive the so-called genius into a blind fury, and he began to snap at Danzi's jugluar in fury, making snarling sounds.
Legeti yelped, jumping back a minute then began dancing left and right anxiously, trying to bite. Evil! Mean! Bad! Legeti didn't like her at ALL. What had they done to make her mean?

Tia took the chance of letting Danzi handle the male hyena on his own. He was big enough to take him, and she had heard her son yelp in pain... She bounded off towards him, snarling loudly. Seeing Aden bleeding, she whirled on Schatz.
Aden sulked and nursed his wound, watching with wide eyes as his mother bounded between him and the hyena. "GET HER MOM!" he shouted happily. "Beat her up!"
"Shut up, Aden," Tia growled, reaching out a forepaw and batting Schatz away from the wolf puppy. She snarled at the juvenile and tried to pin her down with her powerful forepaws.

Pinning the hyena, Danzi placed a large paw on his throat. There was no way he was being taken out by a filthy hyena! Snarly, he bit at the hyena's face. He wasn't aiming to kill, merely make a point.
Pain, LOTS of pain! Snarling, Schatz danced to avoid the lioness's batting paws. But the first strike had dazed her a bit, and they were hard to avoid. So she did a desperate thing - She ran around the lioness towards the cubs. Not the juvenile, but the cubs. Take at least one out... That was the plan...

Angaza snarled, then bit at Danzi's paw. a**. DO NAE TOUCH.
Granted, a wounded animal was most dangerious.
Kabichi blinked, ears pricking. AAAHH. FEMALE COMING. The cub fluffed, trying to look as big as possible.
And Failing.
"G...Go away!"

Aden yelped as Schatz turned towards the cubs. No! She must not get them! Dx He ignored the pain in his shoulder and raced after her.
Tia growled and followed her son. Idiot! He was always doing things without thinking!
"Aden! Stop!" She hissed, bounding past him and trying to trip up the juvenile hyena before she reached the cubs.

Scrambling towards the hiding cubs, Schatz glared back at Aden and his mother. She would NOT be detered! Snapping at the juvenile male, the hyena stopped long enough to try to once again bite him. The taste of his blood was still fresh in her mouth.
Letting out a roar of pain, Danzi yanked his paw back. It was probably a bad move, considering it'd give the hyena the upper paw. Snarling, the male lion once again moved to bite. A paw for a paw. But then, that logic would get his leg broken.

Angaza was no fighter to be sure, but he knew what openings looked like, and he lunged forward, snapping for Danzi's throat.
"Damnit.. I'll have SOMETHING to eat today!"
And the Hyena snarled.
Kabichi's eyes widened as Schatz drew closer, and she pressed her body against Mut further.
Make it go away....
And the cub gave a pitiful mewl.

Still angry about his beautiful fur being marred by the hyena, Aden snarled and swiped at her face with a clawed paw, hoping to return the favor of the wound she'd given him. "Back off, mutt!" he growled, his voice tight with pain.
Tia bounded past her son, heading for the larger hyena and the orange lion who fought him. She launched herself bodily at Angaza, bent on knocking him off course so he couldn't get at Danzi's neck. "Wrong," she replied in a snarl to the hyena's comment. "Go home, fleabag."

A sharp and loud yelp escaped Schatz, causing her to back away. Glaring with one uninjured eye, she snarled at the lion. Snorting, she ran over towards Angaza. "MOve it, you big oaf, let's get outta here before we're killed! Geeze, even the runtiest cubs is learnin' to fight!"
Thankfully, the hyena only got a mouthful of mane. Danzi pulled back sharply, growling as a whole clump was yanked from his neck. OUCH. That'd leave one heck of a bald spot! Limping a bit from his bitten paw, he moved to keep his larger mass at least between the cubs and the hyenas. As long as that might last, anyway... He was just glad there weren't more.
Peeking out from around Kabichi, Mut whined a bit. Ears back, she listened to the fighing. Blood... The metallic smell invaded her nose, made her want to throw up. Squeezing her eyes shut again, she burried her face in her paws. Connections, whispy ones, formed in her mind. Lions past of the past filled her mind, so many ways to die, somehow connected to those she cared about. Her mother, her father, Big Brother, even Kabichi. Shadowy forms with only eyes and blood, lots of blood. Letting out a cry of fear, the splattered pale cub passed out, overwhelmed by her fears.

Angaza was knocked onto his broken leg, injuring at best, but he could run on three, barely, and he shot to fetch Schatz, lifting her in his mouth before bolting. Screw dignity, they needed a bit of recovery time.
Legeti peeked a bit, then moved t the hyenas slightly, as if chasing them off until Angaza snarled his way. Blinking, the pup trotted over to the lion he knew, Danzi, and plunked down.
"Stinky, naughty wolfies!"
Yeah, he didn't know what a hyena was.
Kabichi whined, leaning close to Mut. Evil, EVIL big furry things. EVIL. Why wouldn't they go away forever?
Kabichi gave a whine. Bad things.

Aden blinked, and sat back on his haunches heavily. They were gone? They ran away? ... He'd scared a hyena off! The juvenile smirked smugly, getting onto his paws and strutting over to his mother and the other lions, looking very pleased with himself. He sat down near the cubs and gave them what he imagined was a very reassuring look. "It's okay, I'll protect you," he told them, puffing his small chest out boldly, then wincing as his shoulder gave a twang of pain.
Tia turned towards Danzi and the cubs, breathing heavily from the fight. She padded over, instinctively making sure the little ones were alright. Seeing Mut unmoving, she frowned and gave the cub a gentle lick. The hyenas hadn't gotten her... why wasn't she moving?
"Hush, Aden," she said almost absent mindedly, checking the two cubs and the puppy for any wounds. Then she turned to Danzi.
"Thank you," she said uncertainly, giving him a calculating look. "Do you know these cubs?"

The juvenile snarled, struggling a bit. Her left eye was by now swollen shut, blood still flowing from it. "The runt'll PAY! I'll tear him apart! I'll line my den with his pelt!" Schatz was not a happy hyena, oh no.
Relaxing as the hyenas ran off, Danzi smiled warily at Tia. "Yeah... One's my sister.. Er, sort of.." He looked over and his ears flattened back. Mut had passed out? He nudged her gently, then scooped her up by the scruff. She must have been pretty frightened by the experience. He gave both Tia and Kabichi a reasuring look to show things were alright, then limped towards Pride Rock. A twitch of his tail towards Kabichi and Legeti toild them to follow him back. He would leave it up to Tia and Aden as to wheter they'd follow or not.

"....!" Kabichi immediately huddled back down as Danzi walked away, ears flattening. He was moving towards OTHER lions, strange lions she mostly didn't know. The cub whimpered a little, and looked toward Legeti. By now, the pup was sniffing at Tia and Aden curiously.
"HI!"
Angaza snorted, setting Schatz down.
"You think I'm any happy about this? Mafa'll kill us if she heard." The older hyena gave a sharp look.

Aden stuck his tongue out at the retreating hyenas, braver now that he knew he was safe. He continued looking smug and trotted after his mother, a new bounce in his step. He was a HERO!
Tia blinked. "I see," she replied, shrugging and bending to lick Aden's shoulder wound gingerly. As long as the cubs had someone to look after them, then.
She glanced over at the wolf puppy, lifting an eyebrow and smiling. "Hi there." the crimson lioness replied, picking her son up by the scruff and padding after Danzi. It would be good to get back to the den, in case the hyenas came back.

Letting out a a groan, Mut woke up. Moving? She was moving? Or was she floating? No, someone was carrying her. Ears still down, she looked around, realising that Danzi was the one carrying her. And he was limping. She didn't like that, letting out a whine.
She was awake, that was good. But he wasn't putting her down. Not yet, anyway. Reaching a watering hole a safe distance from the border, but not quite at Pride Rock yet, Danzi set the cub down before laying down himself. His paw hurt from the bite, and he groomed it carefuly.
The young hyena growled, then headed for the Graveyard. "We'll get stronger, and we won't tell Mafa about this. If anybody asks, they attacked US first. Got it, dirt clod?"
