Rufus thumped his tail even more. He didn't know what the man was saying, but it in a nice tone and he liked it.
Lupis walked in, balancing a tray. There was a fragrant squash soup, with herbs and spices mixed in. there was aslo baked eggplant and tomatoes with melted cheese on top and a sprinkling of herbs. Two glasses of iced tea were also on the tray with lemons. All the herbs were steeped in her magic just by her loving them everyday, their flavors stronger than normal herbs. She prided herself on the fact that she has never set foot in a supermarket, she home grew most of her food or went into small markets.

Kurtis could catch the wonderful smell in the air as Lupis brought out the food. And standing up he went back to the couch and took a seat. He smiled and looked over at Lupis as she set down the tray.
"My my..Lupis this smells absolutly delicious..and such clever dishses! You must have had alot of culinary experiance! It looks wonderful!"
Kurtis could hardly wait..it all smelt so good...

Lupis grinned "I often worked with the cooks when I lived with my master, I learned alot of it from there." She set the tray down on the coffee table. "I see you and Rufus have become friends." She said, a glint of laughter still in her eyes.

"Yes. I must say I rather enjoy Rufus. He's quiet the old chap there."
He watched as she set the tray down and waited for her to sit down beside him.
"Tell me..do you enjoy cooking? Have you experimented on your own? Or do you just follow the recipes?"

Lupis nodded "I tend to expirement more than follow recipes. I like to go with my own insincts on many things, and cookings one of them." She sat down beside Kurtis and sipped the soup. "And what about you? You made some suberb steak yesterday." She said as she tossed a piece of eggplant to Rufus and broke pieces of bread she brought to feed the growing crowd of animals.

Kurtis smiled and began to sip at his own soup. It was absolutly excellent! The array of flavors danced on his tongue like the rays of a sun dance on the surface of water. He turned his head to Lupis and smiled.
"Actually its an old family recipe. Nothing more and nothing less..Though I do hope you won't find me rude if I ask you to cook for me more often..I've never tasted anything so wonderful before..its absolutly delicious!"

Lupis smiled "It's not much, really. Its the herbs that do most of the work, they can make even the most blandest dishes taste better." She grinned as she threw another piece of eggplant to Rufus, who was looking at her with mournful eyes "You sly old dog, you know I can't resist that face." She said fondly, laughing. Rufus barked in return. Lupis smiled "I really do like this place. I only hope I can stay for awhile." Her eyes were a content deep yellow, almost amber color.

Kurtis was nearly finished with his soup before he turned and looked over to Lupis. Curiousity overcomming his face as he raised a brow.
"Oh? And why wouldn't you be able to stay here long? I mean after all this is a university..your supposed to stay until your schooling is finished. Am I correct?"

She sighed "Nothing good ever stay with me. Nothing. I don't want to get soft and used to it before it's taken away thats all." She looked up at him with blue tinted eyes. Then she grinned and took his plate and set it on the tray. "Here, let me take that." She said as went into the kitchen and lay the dishes in the sink.

"Hmn..I see..you must still think that all this is to good to be true.."
Kurtis watched as she got up and moved into the kitchen. Pushing himself up and grabbing his cane he limped after her. Comming up behind her. Drapping his arms over her slender shoulders and kissing the top of her head with a smile.
"I promised that I would stay with you Lupis..a true gentleman keeps his promise..And I'm not going to leave..You can be sure of that..."

Lupis turned around and looked into his eyes warily.Very few 'gentlemen' have kept their promise to her in her lifetime. Standing up on her toes she kissed him and said "One can only hope."

Kurtis smiled and kissed Lupis back. He smiled as she broke the kiss and looked down at her with a smile. Kurtis took a few steps back and bowed before her.
"My dear sweet Princess, my word is my bond. You may not see that yet but I am sure that you will soon enough. Besides I am much older then these boys that run around the area. I've had more experiance on how to treat a lady."

Lupis smiled at being called a princess "Now THATS something I havn't been called before." She said, her eyes dancing. "And your not that old. Your what, 35-36?" She looked up at him and twined his hair around her fingers. "Your are awfully big though." She said. It was true, her head only reached about to his chest.

"You should be called that more often. And I am thirty six thank you...Still..I'm much older then most of the people here. But thats alright. That just means I've had more experiance then them.'
He watched as her eyes danced. Closing his eyes as she felt her playing with his hair.
"What a sweet little princess..."

She felt his face press into his hair and she sighed. She loved his hair, it was thick and slightly wavy. Like a kitten she couldn't help but play with it.
Hesitantly she asked "Would you....would you like to...stay here for the night?" She asked, unconciously bracing herself for a rejection.
