There's no reason at all you should be worried about telling your mum about starting you're period, she shouldn't panic seeing she's had periods herself and know they're OK. I think you should deffinatly tell her just because it's not nice not keeping her informed about these things. It's just you growing up, it's not any worse than the first time you asked for a deodorant stick.

I was lucky. I got mine at night, and I actually had off the day. It was a Monday. :3
I just got mine two months ago, back in December.
Mine kinda went down like this. .
About two or three days before I actually got it I was complaining about how I kept getting sharp pains in my lower back and abdomen, er wherever in that area, and my mom kind of assumed I would get my period soon . . So, we went out and bought pads. Embarrassing. .W.;;
Kotex Fits. Period~ ;D
Then, the night I got it I was at my dad's. Lucky me, I bougth pads two days earlier. I just called my mom before I went to bed. She was just like "Oh, Okay. Have fun with that."

Its important you tell her because she can help get you through it and give you supplies. She may tell your father, but sooner or later he is going to guess that you probably got your period and someone left him way out of the loop. If you guys are close all the better, its a personal subjuect and kind of embarrassing but she has been there and she'll know how to help you get the stuff you need to stay clean and healthy. This is a positive thing! CONGRATS! heart
