User Image When Kia could not restrain herself any longer she bursted from her containment and laughed loudly as Ezeoha twitched and looked for bugs. "I'm sorry," she said with a forced look of innocence "I just figured you deserved a fair warning before you sat there too long"

She would have never guessed that he actually didn't mind swimming, for her mind played the trick that any lion so concerned about getting dirty wouldn't want to get wet either so when he walked her way to join her in the water she considered it her luckiest victory and wallowed in her success for a bit, her expression glowing. Most of Kia's 'mischevious plans' didn't turn out near as good as this one did. Just the fact that he fell for her little plan--or at least played along with it--endeared him to Kia considerably and a quiet purr whispered in her throat as he came nearer to her.

She grinned, her nose wrinkling as small drops of water flew at her and ran down her shoulder. "Perhaps I am," she said nonchalantly, curving a paw so that a small dip was in it as she looked at him, her eyes glowing "but not as wet as you're going to be." and with that she scooped her paw from underwater and sent a pawful of water in his direction too, tossing a grin and a chuckle over her shoulder at him when she turned to run to deeper water a second afterwards.

He shot her a mock glare, as if blaming her for all of his troubles. Truly, he had become slightly paranoid now that she had mentioned that insects could have already infested his beautiful golden pelt. But, this paranoia he kept hidden, instead settling his gaze upon her in a cool manner. "I appreciate the warning; I would've noticed soon enough when I had begun to get itchy."

Her mind indeed was playing tricks upon her. If Ezeoha did not want to get dirty, he'd certainly want to get clean, and water reached the places that his tongue could not. Though, he thought with considerable amusement, her tongue could most certainly reach those difficult areas. He doubted she'd actually go through that plan without blushing, and so he did not mention it. Only he kept that mischevious smirk, hinting that something devious was going on in his mind that she was oblivious to.

Boisterous laughter filled the small watering hole as her paw swept through the water, the droplets getting caught in his mane, but little elsewhere. As she escaped into deeper water, he charged after her, seeming to take great leaps so that he did not have to suffer the exhausting workout of pushing himself into the water. "I believe you are wrong in that belief; for you will be getting much wetter than I," he called out to her, and then with one final leap he tried to drag her down into the deeper depths with him, in an attempt to get her thoroughly soaked.

User Image Kia's feet slipped on the muddy floor of the watery pool in which the two were romping about and in combination with Ezeoha's pounce, with a final shriek of laughter, she slid under the water's surface, sending tiny air bubbles up after she submerged.

She struggled only for a moment to regain her steadiness and breach the top of the water again since swimming was a particular strong point of hers. Upon reaching the air, she took a deep gulp of it, her orangey fur clinging tightly to the curves of her face.

Completely wet, Kia leaned back against the surface of the water and floated around belly-up for a small bit before turning her head to the side and kicking her hind legs so that she was propelled closer to where her companion currently was.

"I'm afraid that was rather uncalled for Ezeoha" she said with a small smile, her eyes glittering as they admired the smooth contours of his features "For I at least warned you with what affliction you were facing yourself with. I had no idea that I put myself up against such a tricky lion!"

she chuckled a bit, her stomach turning in flips again, but the feeling wasn't rebuffed this time. No, instead Kia simply reached over to playfully bat at the lion's nose with a smile as she floated past

Ezeoha's face was aglow with triumph as Kia fell under the water's surface. He did not have any clue that she had slipped and that it was not entirely ihs doing that she had fallen. But, still he basked in the glory of knowing that he had gotten her more than thoroughly back for previously getting him wet. Of course, the trouble of chasing her through the water was clearly visible by the dark patches on his coat where sprays of water had hit him. Little droplets of water dripped off his mane, his lower body thoroughly drenched from just swimming in the deeper water.

He swam back away from her, giving her room to breathe, and keeping himself at a safe distance in case the idea of revenge popped into her mind. But once away, he felt himself whine pityingly. Now that she was wet, her sleek musculature was more visible to him, the delicate bones of her face, the vivacious curves of her body. The very sight of her was driving him mad with the need to get closer. But, she was naive above all else, and he told himself he would take advantage of her because of that weakness.

"Uncalled for?" At this he laughed outright, for her to believe that she did not deserve what she got was outrageously funny to him. "Ah, you had your warning when I chased after you. Me? Tricky? Dahlin', you must have me confused with someone else!" His voice came out in a sultry, seductive purr, though jumped with excited electricity, his happiness positively beaming out towards her.

His nose was batted at, and with soft laughter he brought his paw out of the water to gently shove her away, thus commencing once again the water games, for with his movement of the paw came much water, and water that would likely hit her if his paw did.

User Image Her nose scrunched up in unison with the squinting shut of her eyes as she was sprayed with more oncoming water.

"Of course, I must have you mistaken...." she grinned, her expression radiant as her gaze danced across his face "but you must know that we're on odd ground now and if you think that I might just let--even somebody as charming as you--pass me by and beat me at my own game... then you might have mistaken me for somebody else as well." her voice was also shrouded in a light purr and surrounded by the light tone that a voice spoken with a smiling demeanor often picked up.

she smirked and bit at her bottom lip, throwing him a quick mischevious glance before sinking back under the water, she would have to at least try to get back at him after all.

Silently she swam underwater, close to the muddy floor, her eyes open just wide enough to see the murky outline of his feet beneath the surface. She smirked, flexing the claws of her hind legs to make a mark in the mud as her leg muscles coiled and eventually sprung, sending Kia shooting towards the surface as she reached her front paws toward his side, hoping to push him to the same fate that he had partially brought her to. However she did spring much lighter than she normally might have, she wouldn't want to harm the fellow after all.

"Believe me, Kia, that I have not mistaken you for anyone else but who you are." As these words spilled out from between his lips a mischevious glint formed in his eyes, the corners of his lips curling up in a delightfully evil smile. "I decided to play this game for one reason; because you would play back. I expect you not to let me win... but rest assured, I will win." He straightened his shoulders, made himself look larger than he actually was (for he was, indeed, a small male, a pretty boy). The whole gesture exuded confidence and haughtiness, mock-haughtiness, but haughtiness all the same.

And then she was under the water, and he could no longer spot her. His eyes danced over the surface of the water, trying to see her form in its murky depths. But, she was well hidden by the muddy water, and all he saw was the sand beneath his feet. It made him a little edgy, because he knew that she was now out to get revenge. Thus, he begun to back away, but nearly not far enough as he should've, which the next five seconds proved.

Kia sprung out of the water, her weight pushing against him and sending him sprawling back into the water, for his form was indeed light. The splash, his mind murmured satisfactorily, might've hit her. But, he was now underwater, and twisting himself right-side up, he breached the surface, taking in a huge gulp of air. "I cannot believe you did that! I'm COLD. You, my darling, will so have to warm me up later."

User Image Another surge of water flew at Kia, but when these spurts of water hit her she felt more of satisfaction than anything else since her little attack had done exactly what she planned it to and spun off into fits of giggles as soon as the boy gasped for air.

"Well..." she smiled, idly paddling circles again as she spoke "You said yourself that you expected me to play back did you not? Being cold is a consequence of the game, but if you hate it so much we can end it faster"

She cut through the water and turned about so that she was right before the fellow, her eyes glinting jovially as she looked into his.

"A wager, my darling" she said coyly with a smile "I will do my best to 'warm you up', but only if you beat me to shore"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 14, 2007 2:38 pm

Her logic did not prove to be faulty, and Ezeoha reluctantly agreed that becoming cold was the consequence of joining in on the game. "Next time, lovely, I think we will pick a game that requires us basking underneath the sun's rays. It is less tiring, and less cold." It was undeniable that Ezeoha was at heart one of those lazy lions, who would rather rest all day then get up and do work. He was more of a homebody than most others, and would rather spend a day gently playing and cuddling with his children than doing the necessary hunting.

At the mentioning of ending the game his ears perked up, red eyes suddenly becoming a little more alert. Oh, ending the game had certainly caught his interest. Right now he wanted nothing more than to climb out of the water and dry off on some hot, huge boulder. Any shortcut to end the game was an appreciated one, and the idea of her warming him up struck very delightfully at his innards. It was probably not meant in the way that Ezeoha took it, as something a little more intimate than friendship. He knew this, but decided to dwell on the pleasure of hearing those words roll off of her tongue. "Ah, I like the sounds of this wager. But then, what must I offer you in the case that you beat me to the shore, as unlikely as it sounds?"

He swam forward, placing his body right next to her own, intimately close. It was his intention to get close, but to her it simply looked like he was lining himself up next to her so that there would be no unfair advantage in the race to the shore. His mind could be devillishly devious, so that innocent gestures were no longer innocent, and so that in a way his deviousness rubbed off on others. "Just tell us when to begin, love, and your defeat shall come all the swifter."

User Image Kia raised a brow, looking amusedly at Ezeoha. Their definitions of a game were very different indeed, but it was to be expected. In many ways, after all, Kia and the boy were like night and day. "Lazing in the sunlight?" Kia's head tilted curiously to an angle as she spoke, as if she was questioning his statement "You know... I cannot think of a single game that involves that"

"No matter," she tacked onto the end of what she last said with a grin "As far as the wager goes... when you lose I suppose that you should.... tell me one of your deepest, darkest secrets" she spit out her half of the deal slowly and dramatically as she pursed her lips together in a satisfied smile. Curious to the point of nosyness most of the time, Kia believed a secret of any kind to be a mighty prize and delighted always in receiving one.

He neared where she idly sat in the water, her gaze often flicked from the shore to him, judging the distance, judging the boy. Her heartbeat escalated and she could feel a thumping in her chest, she figured the anticipation of their little race was getting to her nerves somehow, but in some distant reaches of her mind she traced her restlessness to perhaps... another source. The distance to shore wasn't far, but far enough for a decent charade such as this.

The two were close enough to touch if only for the moment and the faintest traces of a smile appeared at the corners of her lips as she looked to his eyes and stated rather matter-of-factly

"Alright then.... go!" she chuckled a little before diving underwater. The race was on.

He chuckled at her statement, believing it to be amusing that she thought everything needed to be turned into a game. He'd have to show her the simpler pleasures of life, the key to relaxation. "Not everything is a game. Some things you do just to enjoy it. Very little is better than lounging underneath the shade of the tree to hide from the violent heat of the day." Naturally, the two things that could top that was spending time with his child, and spending his time with females.

An eyebrow was arched upwards as she told him what she wanted to hear if he lost. Well, deep dark secrets, did he have any? Well, he did have the secret about being a minor pimp hidden away from her. She knew so little about him that everything about him could be considered a secret. He decided, though, if she won, he'd tell her everything. There'd be no secrets about his life from her, especially if he considered her as someone he wanted to spend a little private time with. "You have yourself a deal, Kia."

He gave her one of his more charming smiles as their eyes locked, and at that moment he realized he was having the fun of a child, the fun he had abandoned so long ago in search of female company. He was glad to have captured it again, this kind of fun. It made his adrenline rush, his face crinkle with mirth. But, the race was on, and when she dove under the water, he stayed above it, kicking forward with his legs. Going under the water was a no, his mane would drag him behind, and he wouldn't have that.

He intended to win.

User Image Kia was a very swift swimmer, especially so when she swam under water. Her toned legs were almost precision instruments at cutting through the water and manipulating it to her advantage to swim quickly. She didn't know how speedy Ezeoha was when it came to swimming, but she did know that even if he wasnt... she wanted the race to be a close one.

Games and races, events and adventures, everything scaled out to Kia's mind as interesting if it was somewhat of a challenge. Each challenge was like a story, Kia saw each as if it should be a trial, a hurdle, a difficulty. When she lived her life like this it didnt really matter who won or lost, because the victor always experienced their heroic win, and the not so lucky one shared in their joy for being a part of it.

Simple as this little race was, Kia soon surfaced so that she could keep an eye on the progress of her competitor. If he was faster she would speed up to her ability and if he was slower she would slow to meet his potential.

Quicker than expected, Kia noticed that she was nearing the shore. Perhaps only ten yards until the finish line, the line where the sandy dirt met the water. She had done her best to make the race tight and a smirk lit up her features as she then kicked her legs more intently through the water again, this time trying her best to pass the boy and perhaps win the race.

win or lose though, her expression gleamed as it reflected her outlook on life, she would still have her fair share in that "heroic victory"---even if it was just a race to shore.

Ezeoha was small for a male his age, but that did not mean that he was not well-built. Even after lounging under the sun all day Ezeoha managed to retain his semi-masculine figure. There indeed were toned muscles under that golden fur, and at any given opportunity he'd show them off to impress a female that was inclined towards well-built males. Females were the main reason that he was in such good condition. Most females seemed to better connect with a well-groomed, homely sort of male that could, if needed, kick butt. So, that was what Ezeoha had set out to become, and that he was, though he would've turned out as he was anyways even if he did not have female inspiration. In a way, Ezeoha had been destined to turn out as he was, and nothing in his life would've lead hiim astray from this path.

Kia surfaced from underneath the water a foot or so behind him, and he was pleasantly surprised that the race was this close. He did not know what had so inspired him to win this race, but something had, and now he was glad that Kia was presenting him with a good challenge. Male egotism began to come into play at this point, and as she increased her speed, so did he, because he simply wasn't going to lose to a female, especially when the stakes were so high. He wanted to have her cuddle with him, he wanted to manipulate the situation into a more intimate one so that, just possibly, he could have cubs to share his love with, cubs to bring more games and enjoyment into life. Oh, and then there was the increasing need just to have her, just to touch another female again.

It was, perhaps, this determination that brought him to the finish line first. When the last few years came closer he could touch the bottom with his feet, and took great leaps into the air to propell himself closer to the finish line. Kia was right beside him, but it was unmistakable, in the end, who won. Ezeoha's feet had touched land first, and he went out of his way to prove to her that he had won. Once on land, his smile grew into one of triumphant, and he practically pranced around the shore, head hung high in glory, jewelry catching the sunlight just perfectly so as to make him appear like a mirthful god.

"Dahlin, there is no question as to whom is the better swimmer, now is there?"

User Image Kia's features warmed as she burst into giggles when the two crossed the shoreline. It was certainly the closest and most entertaining race that she had ever been in in her life. She felt almost as if she had the energy of a cub again, struggling to win a race and fighting to keep up with a friend. Even if the race was the closest one, she had certainly come up short. Ezeoha's feet had crossed the line nearly four or five paces before Kia's had the chance.

Never was it more obvious or amusing of a victory to behold. Kia could help but tilt back her soggy head and laugh as she watched a full grown pretty boy prancing around as if he had just won the most wonderful prize in the world. Even though he might have been the actual victor, one observing the scene might not have been able to tell the difference. The joy in Kia's expression matched Ezeoha's, perhaps the only difference was that he was leaping about and Kia was simply sitting on the shore line consumed with laughter.

"No Mr. Prince-of-the-sea, no question at all" Kia said coyly witha playful shake of her head "Now... I do believe I owe you something, dont I?"

Kia chuckled, sauntering over to where Ezeoha stood before carefully snuggling the crown of her head under his chin, allowing her whole body to follow through until she allowed her tail to finish the motion and lightly brush the side of his face.

Grinning, she turned about and sat closely next to him, burying her cheek softly into his shoulder as she spoke, an amused smile tracing her features.

"There," she said with a nuzzle, a delicate purr rising in her throat "That good enough?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 21, 2007 2:08 pm

Her laughter, cliched as it sounded, was music to his ears. It warmed up his heart to hear such wonderul noise, and he could not help but prance and preen even more just to provoke those sounds from her. This was the first time he was intentionally being goofy for the sake of another. Never before had he been a goof ball in anyone's presence, mainly because everyone he met didn't seem to appreciate goofiness. But, Kia did, and so Ezeoha embarrassed himself just a little so that she could laugh.

"Ah, I am no Prince of the Sea. I leave that to the fishes, dear." At that moment, whether through coincidence or not, a fish leapt out of the water to land back in it with a splash, as if saying that it, indeed, was the prince of the sea. The random occurence of the fish sent Ezeoha into a momentary fit of laughter, his boisterous voice filling the watering hole with warmth.

When he managed to calm himself down, though, his entire demeanor changed. There was the smallest of smiles, seductive, highly suggestive (though Kia would not realize it) on his face. "Ah, yes, I do believe that you owe me something." His nerves seemed to jump as if electrocutied, if simply from anticipating being close to Kia. It was what he wanted the most at this moment, and having won, he was going to get it.

His red eyes were intent on her, watching her move towards him, but then the intensity of his stare died away, eyes hazing over with affection. A soft little purr built up in his throat as she rubbed her body against him, sending his hormones into a feeding frenzy, jumping to the surface to better feel the warmth of her body, building up in his nose so that he could get a good sniff of her overwhelmingly feminine sent.

The contact, though, was too short for his likings, though he indeed was warmed up. "Mhhhmmm, no, I don't quite think it is." He raised his paw, tenderly swinging it around Kia's shoulder before he successfully pulled her down to the ground on her belly. Of course, the manuever dragged him down to the ground, but that was what he wanted. He snuggled closer to the warmth of her body, his purring growing louder. "I need a whole lot more warming up."

"No?" she said with a mock surprise and a small giggle "Not warm enough for you?" she smiled as his body moved nearer to hers. Her innocent mind couldn't easily grasp what his was thinking, but she knew that she herself was beginning to feel rather warm already.

For a moment she bit her bottom lip, allowing her gaze to stray skywards as if she was mulling over an idea, soaking in something that he had just said, but within moments her eyes returned to staring into the pools of red before her that she might have taken as a warning sign if she wasn't feeling so restlessly silly.

"You know..." she said in a long, drawly tone before affectionately touching her nose ever-so-lightly to his "I believe that I could use a bit more warming up myself"
