Terresa *goes back and checks* I only see one that matches in both element, and effect. And that's Filter. Okay, Terr, let me spell it out for you. Terresa Heat - Mega radiator: A Feien effected by this spell is uneffected by cold temperatures as they heats the air around them non-stop. Ice/Cold - Freezer: A Feien effected by this spell is uneffected by hot temperatures as they cool the air around them non-stop. We already have Exude Warmth and Exude Cold. These are the exact spells you are describing. Simply re-writing the descriptions does not make them new spells. "Freezer" is too vague a spell name (particularly since this is not a freezing but a cooling spell), and anyway we already have Freezer Burn, Freeze Area, and Freeze. Quote: Earth - Grounded: This Feien is uneffected by Lightning spells while touching the ground. That's potentially usable. Quote: Earth - Elevator: Makes the earth beneath the Feien rise or lower at a variable speed. Doubles as an attack used by making the earth beneath the target at rise at a high speed, drop at a high speed, then rise again at an intense speed. Once again, "elevator" is a bit of a misnomer, methinks. This is basically a more physical version of Sinkhole and Entomb (and I know I havnt typed up Entomb's description, but as my spell names are all fairly descriptive, I think you can all guess what the spell will do). It's also a bit against the element of earth, which magically favors endurance more than speed (as the current spells suggest). Quote: Stone - Platform Shoes: Holds stone on the bottom of the Feien's feet like the sole of a shoe, providing minor elevation. Can be layered to provide more elevation. Uhm, this is just sort ridiculous. I'd call it a fashion spell, I suppose. It's quite a bit similar to a realm of spells not yet revealed, and is basically a sort of localized Natural Barrier? But really, what's the point? And who wants to walk around with rocks tied to their feet? Quote: Air - Air Bubble: By creating a bubble of fresh air around them, a Feien can breathe normally while underwater, or in toxic gases. Air feien do not get Underwater Breathing. That's reserved for the Water feien. They do, however, already have Extended Breath (which can obviously be used underwater) and Purify Air. Elementally speaking, a feien of one element cannot breathe the substance of another element magically. I mean, they can, but that would be drowning (water) or suffocating (earth). Better to just let the Air feien stick to the Air and be able to hold their breaths for long periods of time. Quote: Air - Gas-proof: This Feien automatically filters toxins out of the air within a 1/2 inch of them, making it safe to breathe. This ability does not effect air leaving the feien's body. Air - Filter: Filters all toxins out of the targeted area as long as the feien sustains the spell, then for up to 5 minutes after. See "Purify Air" mentioned above. And let's not forget Toxic Immunity, from the Smoke spells. Quote: Water - Fish breath: This feien can breathe underwater indefinately. Changing the name of "Underwater Breathing" does not make it a new spell. Quote: Gravity - Zero G: Lowers the gravity in the targeted area to 1/3 normal gravity. Well, this is obviously already a planned Gravity spell, but as there aren't any gravity feien, why should I bother to type up the spells when there are plenty of other elements with living feien that need work? Quote: Gravity - Pancake Pop: Increases Gravity around the target to nearly unbearable levels, then returns it to normal in an instant. Gravity - Skinny Heavyweight: Doubles Gravity around the target, weakening their abilty to fly, and doubling all drops in thier stamina. Gravity - Divebomb: The user flies into the air over their target, and increases the gravity around themselves in an attempt to drop down on thier target with twice as much force as they could use on their own. These are passable gravity spells, but as gravity spells are easy to come up with, your treading on stuff I've already picked out. But your spell names here could use a lot of work, as the names don't really give a good description of the process and effects. I try to not make it completely necessary for roleplayers to have to check the spell guide when writing unless there's some sort of delectable pun I want to use. In other words, if you were roleplaying and your friend used "Skyrocket," you could really make an educated guess as to what the spell does without needing to consult the guide -- and that's even one of the punny spell titles. The others are generally even more blatant.

Well, since there aren't many plant spells, I was thinking how about something like Camoflague? (Er, however you spell it)) Where the feien can blend in with plant life. Kind of like Silva's Dark Disguise, you know?

Ooo, camo! That sounds like it might be fun. Hmm... Talking to trees sounds like a given for plant spells, although I think a spell that summons up and/or controls vines from the ground could be cool. Thorny ones, even. May be too powerful or out of scope though.

Well if Earth feien can do something like that, shouldn't plant feiens be able to? And it could be set up as a higher magic level skill, like a 7 or 8...
And for my own personal interests could there be a "Blinding" for darkness/shadow feien? Where they can temporarily blind someone? Or has that been asked for already?
edit: NM, is a smoke spell... *sighs*

I didnt know where to ask this and didnt want to start a new topic just for asking this, so dont keel me if this is the wrong place. I was wondering if there was a way to ask for the images of our Feien's previous stages? I did have them saved but a change over to winxp unfortunately resulted in alot of lost art - them being one of them sweatdrop . Like I said sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I really would like Saffron's bloom and adolescent stage images - if that isnt possible then np but it cant hurt to ask eh?

A few spell ideas, in Youkochylde's format:
Memory
2. Memorize - Grants the caster a photographic memory for the duration of the spell. Lasts one minute for every point of Int the caster has.
Rain
0. Rain Sense - Knowledge of current local air moisture levels, even when indoors.
1. Shower - Small amount of water to fall from sky.
4. Mist - Causes a dense, concealing fog to form. Starts with an effect area of 3x3 feet, and can be expanded, although doing so thins the fog.
Plant
2. Poison Ivy - Anywhere that the caster touches another Feien, the other Feien will be plagued with an irritating itching sensation! Duration of itch effect dependant on the victim's Sta.
4. Plant Growth - Causes plant to grow at four times the normal speed. Plant will need four times the usual amount of water and nutrients to keep up that groth pace!
5. Allergen - Caster summons an irritating pollen, causing an allergic reaction in the target - stuffy nose, clogged sinuses, watery eyes, headache, etc. Less effective against Feien with high Sta.
Sorry if any of these have been touched upon before! I've read this whole thread, but I don't know if there have been previous suggestion threads.

I've had this idea kicking around, and I know I'm going to get my head bitten off for suggesting it, but here goes... I think that perhaps there needs to be a change in the way resurrections are done. I think its a little unfair that, in the future, someone may want to resurrect a non-ancient stone belonging to their dead feien and would have to compete against feien have-nots or other owners who are hoping to acquire an ancient to resurrect. Not that we should stop having the ancient resurrection auctions because they're awesome, I just think maybe there should be a different method for dealing out resurrections for bonded non-ancients. For example, maybe a resurrection for a dead once-bonded feien should be a flat fee...you'd just be paying for the resurrection/rebonding process. This would make sense since the art for the feien already exists and it would just be a matter of reapplying it to the cert and reinstating the feien in question. This also rewards the people who were active with their feien and gives them more incentive to try and bring them back when their fairy's time is up rather than give up and walk away when they're left with a gemstone and not a prayer of competing in the auctions. There could be a price ladder, perhaps, as such: Quote: I am: + An Owner resurrecting my own feien - base price 10k + An owner resurrecting a feien once belonging to someone else - base price 20k (non-applicable if the stone was purchased from the shop and not given) + A newcomer resurrecting a feien once belonging to someone else (stone would have to be given to them by the former feien's owner) - base price 30k The Feien Once was:+ Single Elemental - no fee + Dual Elemental - add 5k + Rare/Uncommon Element - 15k + Merged - add 20k The Feien died via:+ Neglect - add 20k if you were the previous owner, 5k if not + Suicide/Drama - add 50k, feien will be resurrected with significant intelligence/wisdom penalties + Legitimate Playerkill - add 20k + Failed Quest/Accident - add 10k + Natural Causes/Old Age - add 30k (unless this feien quests for immortality, their life expectancy is now halved) This is this feien's:+ First resurrection - no fee + Second resurrection - add 20k + Third (cannot be performed) That way people wouldn't be apt to decide in the heat of the moment to kill off their feien because bringing it back wouldn't be an easy "OMG I killed my feien, lollerskates, well now I'm feeling better so I'm bringing him back!" thing they could just quickly and repeatedly pay a small fee for. There would still be a heavy monetary penalty involved for resurrecting, but people could actually save up toward bringing their feien back to life with a particular sum in mind instead of having to rely on deep pockets and luck in auctions against people hoping for an ancient resurrection. I...don't know, it was just a thought ._.;;

Just a couple spell suggestions:
Darkness or Shadow
Low Level
Twilight - Reduces the light within a 5 foot radius of the place touched for 5 minutes to the level of dusk, making it difficult to read or discern details without being very close to what you are looking at. This makes it easier for someone to hide, or hide something else.
High Level
Shadow Step - The feien can step into a naturally cast shadow large enough to contain it's body, and instantly step out of any other shadow large enough to contain it's body within line of sight. They cannot remain inside the shadow space, as the two spaces are simply magically connected to form a portal for them once per casting.

Going along with the theme of heat vs cold and light vs shadow, let's see how this works.
Some fire spells:
0: Fire Blood - Not only can this feien withstand very hot temperatures, s/he may feel burning to the touch. 0: Warm Touch - Fingers grow warm. Touch an object to warm it slightly. 1: Ember spray - A small ember of burning-hot flame shoots from the hands. 2: Third-degree Burn - Hands grow hot enough to lightly burn flesh. 3: Fire Seal - Envelops an object (maximum object size is half that of the Feien casting) in a shell of thin fire. 4: Flame Dagger - Fire gathers in the caster's hand and ignites, forming a dagger made of fire which can then be thrown or used as a weapon. 5: Exude Warmth - Just standing near this fairy will warm you, as s/he acts like a heater. (This ability can be turned on or off, but cannot be used to inflict burns.) 6: Second-degree Burn - Hands grow hot enough to scald flesh. 7: Flame Shield - Encases the caster in a shield of flame capable of burning those who get too close. 8: Meltdown - Objects grow hot to the touch and become all melty, particularly plastics and metals 9: First-degree Burn - Hands grow hot enough to seriously sear flesh. 10: Flame Thrower: Fires a continuous spray of flame from the caster's hands which sears and burns all it envelops.

Some suggestions for Reflect spells ninja . I'm playing around with the definition and attributes of reflection, and these aren't in any particular level-of-difficulty order. Hopefully some will be of interest. n_n
Camoflauge: Temporarily renders the Feien invisible using a mirror-refraction effect - the Feien reflects the surrounding environment exactly, only in reverse (as a mirror would).
True Reflection: The Feien can create a temporary area of reflection that another Feien may look into. The Feien that gazes into this mirror will see themselves as they really are - without illusion, without any covering-up. This is not only physical truth but also the truth of that Feien's mind - i.e. a Feien who is quite nasty but is trying to hide it from themselves will have that illusion removed in the mirror. Only that Feien will be able to see that reflection of themselves. (This would be a very high-level spell, I think. I also hope it's liked - I really think it'd be a fun ability to play with.)
Luminance: The Feien's hands become reflective, and are capable of reflecting light as the Feien changes the position of their hands. (Could be used for blinding people temporarily, etc.)
Magic Reflect: For a limited amount of time (determined by a stat?) the Feien casting is protected against all magic spells by a reflective barrier. Any spells cast will reflect back upon the caster.
Mimic: The Feien can temporarily mimic any ONE stat or spell of an opponent.
Mirror Walk: The Feien can literally step into a mirror and travel to another mirror. The mirror at the arrival point, as well as the arrival point itself, MUST be familiar to the travelling Feien. While travelling, the Feien will be passing through a reflected, mirror-image version of the world that can be confusing and disorienting to those not prepared for it. The Feien can only take what he can carry on a mirror walk, and no other living beings can accompany him.

Another Reflect idea:
Mirror: Casting Feien can take on the illusory appearance of another Feien within their line of sight. This lasts for as many minutes as the casting Feien's INT. The illusion is for appearance only and does not mimic stats or magic.

Earth spell ideas:
Quake: Be able to shake the ground in a area around the Feien. Probably a small area but would get bigger with practice. (not exactly sure the practical use of this, but good for knocking people off their feet or mixing drinks? ^.^;; )
Fissure: Splitting the earth like a big crack. Can be used for planting, or placing items in the ground (I know sinkhole can do that too) Or can be used as an offensive attack.
Advanced Stoneshaping: Being able to shape larger bits of stone and dirt. Can be used to make things that are larger then what a feien can use in their hand. Like making lawn sculptures, or statues.
I figure earth includes Sand, right? Or would that be another kind of element? Well, if not, a Sand spell or two..
Sand Spray: Sand can be created and sprayed out of the feiens hand. Can be used to coat a surface with sand to make un-easy footing, or making a nice terarum for a turtle. Beach in an instant. Also can be used for adding sand for planting. Also can be used as a attack or quick distraction. (similar idea to chill spray)
Earth Concersion: Make a rock to dirt, dirt to sand, or anything like that as long as it's earth properties.(no metal, since that is another element) It will be easier to break down a harder object like a rock, into a softer objects like sand. Harder to make it reverse though, get's better with practice.

Crystal Spell ideas (thanks to Em and Tami chatting):
Crystalskin: Skin turns very hard, crystalline and glassy. Increases STA and STR by 3 and CHA by 1. Decreases DEX and SPD by 4.
Crystallisation: Can form crystals out of crystalline compounds; e.g salt, sugar, etc. Possibly totally useless and more just pretty.
Stoneshaping; Crystals: Mould stones, crystal powder and small crystals into different shapes.
Crystal Shield: Can deflect light-based spells. Will crack depending on strength of spells thrown, and strength of shield.
Crystal Armour: Generates crystal armour over the Feien's body. Resistance to lower-level light spells.
Attuning: Can spin Feien dust back into small Feien gemstones. At higher levels, can tell the element of a Feien gemstone, and possibly former identity.

Hate Spell ideas:
Hateful~ Caster gives off hateful aura, causing others to be intimidated by them, or causing others to want to be as far away as possible from the caster.
Hex~ Puts a curse on the victim, causing them bad luck. Decreases LUCK by 4.
((I'll think of more later...))
