"Alright, not a problem." He repled to the guy
Ryan had to stifle a laugh as he watched her pull on his tail. He winced at the second tug, his hand going back to his own small tail. That had to have hurt. Her question sounded similar to the one he had asked a month or so ago.
At the look she gave him, he felt distinctly uncomfortable. There was an urge to get down dig in the sand, to make it so only his back was exposed. He quickly trampled the feeling. As much fun as it was to indulge some of his new instincts, that wasn't one of them.

"Ow...OW...." Bing grit his teeth, his face showed that he wasn't liking this tail touching. He pulled the tail away from her hands.
"I said not so hard!" He yelled, he took a few steps back, nursing his tail with a hand.
He saw where this was going, she probably just got dumped her a few hours ago... It's always the "This has to be a costume!" Phase before the realization.
Bing sighed, he knew what it was like to be a newcomer here.
"Alright alright... Fine. So what do you think you're here for?"
Might as well start with the basic rundown....

Autumn jerked her hand away, startled by his reaction. "Oh.. Uh.. Sorry," she said, in an apologetic, & embarrassed, tone.
She watched as he nursed his tail as he spoke, then looked back up at his face. "Well, I got a letter, saying this was some sort of an art school. It was fairly new, & they were looking for students to come to the school.."
Autumn looked down at her feet, & wiggled her toes in the sand again. "I just pounced on the opportunity, I guess."
She looked back up at him. "Why? Is that all just a lie?" Her mind started to wonder.. Had she been tricked? It did seem somewhat.. Sketchy. The tickets were there, though. It all seemed official.. At least it did to her. She would have to think about this later on.

"Art school, huh..." Bing said, put his hand to his chin, "You didn't even think it was weird that the helicopter landed in the middle of island nowhere."
There was a pause.
"Oh yeah. This" He showed his injured tail, "And these" Bing pointed at the ears, "Are real."

"Hehe, ironic you would use the word 'pounced'. He's telling the truth. Those are real, as are these." He held up his hand showing his claws, and then gestured to his own ears, which wiggled by themselves.
He suddenly took on a much more serious demeanor. "You may want to sit down for what we have to tell you."

Autumn shrugged her shoulders.
"I guess I did find it a bit odd.. But I didn't think to ask about it." Autumn hardly ever asked questions at the time when they needed to be asked. She always thought about what happened after the fact & thought of questions later, when it was too late to ask.
Following the other man's advice, she sat back down in the sand. She shivered as a cold chill went up her spine. She gazed up at his hands as he showed her the claws & ears.
Her stomach was feeling rather fluttery. No way, she couldn't be turning into an animal, too.. Could she? It didn't seem real, despite the evidence being shown to her at the present moment. What really got to her was the fact that she allowed herself to be tricked so easily. I'm never going to go home again? she asked herself in her head.

"Or you could stand, if you're the type who faints, like me. It's easier." Bing said, plopping down in the sand next to her, careful not to injure his tail anymore then it already has been.
"Before we get into this huge traumatizing, life changing situation we're all in, could you check your arm for a sec?"

Ryan didn't sit, but he crouched down so he was on eye level with her. "You got a shot when you first came here, right? And they told you it was a vaccination?" It was a question, but it sounded more like a statement.
p***y-footing around the issue wasn't going to help in the long wrong, so Tyan just came out and said it. "Whatever they told you, it was a lie. Those shots," he guestured to his ears again, whcih moved by themselves, "are the cause of this. And I'm sorry to say, but the same thing is going to happen to you."

Autumn held out her arm at him, the same one where she had recieved her shot not long before. "Why do you need to see my arm?" she asked.
Her question was answered when the other man spoke.
Those shots are the cause of this.
The statement rang clearly in her head.
"Yeah, they.. They told me it was a vaccination so I wouldn't catch some weird jungle disease or something like that," she said, her voice beginning to waver a bit.
"Those shots are going to make me sprout fur, ears, & a tail?" Autumn's eyes went wide with what looked like a mix of fear & surprise. "No.. No way.. That just doesn't seem possible," she said to herself. "That sounds like some crap out of a sci-fi movie."

Bing examined her arm closely.
"Welcome to the club." He said, his tone with a hint of sarcasm.
"And actually, we're new around here too, came a few weeks ago, well, not me, I got shipwrecked, but hey, we're here, right?"
He closed his journal and said, "The tail and the ears? Oh that's alright, hardly feel them, it's the muzzle and fangs and claws and paws and the like, that's the worse part, least from what I hear, and I hear a lot."
He pointed at his ears again, and they quivered.

Ryan looked away from her arm, just looking at his toes in the sand. "Really, I'm sorry to tell you, but that's what's going to happen" He said it as apologetically as he could. The rest of the news was probably going to hit her harder
"Of course, you might not grow fur, you could grow scales instead. Or maybe feathers. It depends on what animal's DNA you were injected with. This isn't as bad as it's going to get for us; we're still mostly human at this point. I've seen some other people that look a lot more animalistic.
He turned at Bings remark. "What do you mean the tail isn't that bad? From what I've heard, that's the worst part. It certainly felt like it to me. He turned, showing them the small nub that had grown.
"Do you know what you're turning into, Mr... oh, I'm sorry, I don't believe I caught your name."

"You hardly feel them?" Autumn asked, with a bit of disbelief. She would have imagined that a tail would perhaps be the most noticeable thing should someone sprout one. A muzzle though, it did indeed sound a bit painful. Fangs? She touched her canine teeth with her tongue as he said this.
She looked at the other man. "Scales? They have lizards here, too?" This was just too unreal. This seemed bogus. As the man turned around to show off his stubby tail, she peered at it, her hand moving to where her tailbone was. For all she knew, she could be sprouting one of those as well in the not-too-distant future.
"Oh, names.. Right.." Autumn mumbled, just now realizing that they didn't even know each others names. "M'name's Autumn," she stated before anyone asked.

Bing shrugged, the sarcasm didn't really lend itself that time, "I was kinda sleepy when I grew it, I wouldn't know."

Ryan stared incredulusly at Bing."You slept through that? I've had surgeries that left me feeling better." Ryan realized all this talking about how bad it hurt was probably going to scare Autumn. Oh, well, she could find out now, or she could find out later.
"So, Mr. King, do you know what animal you are? It looks to me like some sort of Canid" The others might notice that Ryan used the 'are' instead of saying 'turning into'.

"Nice to meet you, Bing," Autumn replied. Bing. What an odd nickname.
She nodded her head at Ryan upon his introduction before turning back to Bing. "You.. Didn't even really notice it, you growing a tail?" Her eyes darted back to Ryan upon his surgury statement. Autumn's only experience with surgery was wisdom teeth getting removed during the summer. That had hurt.
"How much.. Does it hurt?"
