Alan's salad finally arrived in the carry-out bag on the counter. "Oh, has she now?" he asked, his voice rising. "Well, considering that she does approve of the underbelly of society, I see how she'd find you." Alan grabbed his bag and walked quickly out of the restaurant.
At least he got the last word in.
(I'm out for now at least, enjoy)

Why was it fights always started around him? Ryan was left waiting at the counter for his food with the other guy. He decided he should at least seem friendly to him. It was obvious the guy was a jerk, but there was no reason tick him off more.
"I kind of met that guy before. He acted worse then than he did now." Ryan said it with a small smile, trying to discourage the guy from attacking him. Of course, Ryan hadn't done anything to upset the man, but he felt as though he had by being there.

Nicky glances impatiently over toward where they're making his burger before noticing Ryan again. "Hmm? Oh, heh, yeah, I bet. The guy seems the type. But I had to do that," he says with a grin toward Ryan, "Some people're just askin' for others to push their buttons, yaknow? Now me, I know better'n to pick a fight with a total stranger...but when he instigates it...weeeeellll, sometimes I just can't help m'self."

The guy didn't seem mad at him. In fact he seemed to be taking it rather well. Ryan decided it'd be best if he was friendly to the guy, even if he didn't agree with him exactly.
Ryan nodded his head. "People like that are always starting fights."

Nicky mutters under his breath as he finally receives his order. He looks up once more to Ryan, that know-all smirk on his face. "Yeah, well...if it weren't for people like him, we'd have nothing to entertain ourselves with, would we?"

Ryan's food came not long after Nicky's. He guestured to a table, indicating the guy could sait with him if he wanted.
Glad to out from under the big spotlight, Ryan felt a lot more at ease. "There'd certainly be a lot less to watch on TV." Sitting down, Ryan hungrily began eating his meal.

Nicky lets out a "hah!" at the television comment before looking back to the offered seat. The wiseguy pondered for a moment, feeling his need for anger and violence fading the longer Alan was away. Finally, he sets his briefcase down and sits not long after. "You got a name?" he asks Ryan.

RYan held up a finger while he finished chewing, so as not to talk with his mouth full. Swallowing his food, he said, "Um, sorry. My name's Ryan. You?" He went back to his meal while waiting for a reply, more than half done with his burger already.

Nicky unwraps and prepares his own food for consumption with deliberate patience, an odd change from his previous impatient attitude during the ordering process. He thinks a moment of what exactly to say as he takes a bite from his own burger. The guy hadn't given his last name...soo...no need for his own. Some people tend to look upon Nicky in a different light after hearing his last name.
"Nicky...I'm just passing through from a business trip."

By the time Nicky had taken a bite, Ryan was already finished with his burger, and was working on his fries. He wasn't trying to seem like a pig or anything, he was just a fast eater.
"Buisness trip huh? Sounds boring. No offense." He added right away. No need to start another argument. "I'm just a college student myself. Just sqeezing in a lunch before my next class."

Nicky grins, an inside joke to no one but himself, "Oh, you'd be surprised...hostile takeovers can be interesting work." He chuckles and takes a sip of his drink. "Though, home's calling now...can't wait to get back to New Orleans."
"You go to college here? What're you studying?"

"Zoo Science. I plan on getting a job as a zookeeper again once I get my degree. I've only been to New Orleans once, and that was for a trip to the Audoban Zoo. It seemed like a nice place from what I saw though.
Do you work for any big companies I would recognize?"

"Nice place...yeah...the zoo's a good place too," Nicky says, fondly remembering a meeting that once took place at the zoo. It's public and no one notices anyone there...at least not the humans anyway.
Nicky looks up from his fries before taking a sip of his drink, "Nah, doubt you've heard of 'em...I don't work for them full time though...I'm more of a consultant if anything." At this blatant lie, he begins to think of the various dealings he has going on this next week...

Nicky looks up at Ryan, "Good talkin' with you...catch you later." As Ryan gets up to leave, Nicky picks up his briefcase and opens it. He begins rummaging through papers...blueprints...time schedules...things of that nature.
