I have one reason why America should never change the names of Japanese stuff:
One Piece.
Watch the Americanized version and tell me you trust America to do anything right ever again.

Easy, Americans like to Amercanize things. Like for instance pizza was actually suppose to be a snack, but when pizza came to america they made it into a meal.
In some manga I use to read the character name was different, and I went on a forum, and someone said the japanese name, and I was like "Who the hell is that?" *sighs* That's when they told me the awful truth.
P.S. Oh, and about the 4kids One Piece thing, I heard that 4kids deleted a character out the anime.

It's just the evil American way! I was thinking about the American version...like what if the Love kanji on Gaara was to confusing, so they had to change it to a <3 or LOVE...the heart's always kawaii in fanart, but might be a little strange in the anime... >.<

Esscenceofdreamz In America, we usually address people by First Names first and Last Names second. In Japan, they're more formal and they usually address people by their Last Names first and their First Names second. Yeah, she's right.

It's the same reason why people in America and in schools call students "John Green" not "Green John"
Now try to "Hyuuga Hinata" the American way, by saying Hinata with a different voice...Yeah.

There are alot of younger kids who watch Naruto. I think the translators wanted to go by the traditional American first name-last name thing, so it won't confuse them.

Dubs are the evil harbrnigers of errors. Hinata and Naruto's proper names aere Hyuuga Hinata and Uzumaki Naruto. They also take out one of the "U"s in Hyuuga. They make lots of errors like that that drive me mad.
