I'm all for spreading the message, but I think that signatures like that reflect badly on both sides. There's a particular one here that really gets to me, actually. It's take the "Anti-choice? Then you won't mind if I have you forcibly sterilised." And changed it to "Anti-life? Then you won't mind if I have you killed."
And honestly, pro-choice is not anti-life, whereas pro-life can at least conceivably be anti-choice, because it's trying to limit choice. I don't agree with pro-lifers being called anti-choice, and I don't do it, but it's at least conceivable.
In the same sense, pro-choice is trying to limit life...fetal life. Just the same as pro-life is trying to limit the legal choice of a woman to abort. It's not like we're against all choices, and most of us aren't even against that choice. I'm certainly not, I believe in free will. But I believe there shouldn't be a legal right to that choice considering it involves the death of another human...just as you believe a fetus doesn't have a legal right to live considering it involves the woman's body.
They're both conceivable slings. But each is just as valid, which is: Not at all, except as an insult.
My signature is meant to say, I can say it too. You're not being clever, and you're not making any point other than, you can't respect other peoples' opinions. You is not you, it's at whoever used that signature that set me over in the first place.
The last line says it clearly, though the last line I accidentally left out in one version. Disrespecting your opponent is disrespecting yourself. Before you make a remark like that, realize that the same sort of thing can be said about you, and it's not clever, witty, or enlightening. It's just insulting.
