Mafa nodded curtly, flaring her nostrils as she looked from Yakuti to the ratel pup wedged up next to him, scared out of her wits.
"Go as you wish, Yakuti. Make sure you train that rat of yours to not be such a coward, can't have her terrifyed of everything she sees, I won't stand for it."
Mafa's eyes narrowed, looking at the shivering animal. With a low huff, she nodded a goodbye to Yakuti and then turned around, walking away from the two in a leisurely gait.

"Of course, Mafa." Yakuti said, lifting his head and glancing at Omoa. She really was terrified, she'd need to become stronger for sure...
"Come, time to go home." He whispered to her once Mafa was out of earshot, turning and starting to walk back towards his den.
Only when Yakuti spoke and Mafa was well out of her sight did Omoa move, scampering after the blue hyena, eager to get home. "Mafa scary, 'Kuti..." She said shakily, casting a nervous glance over her shoulder as she said it.
"Don't worry, Omoa. You won't see much of her." Yakuti laughed reassuringly, "You'll be fine."
The two of them continued talking in hushed voices until they returned to the den, where they immediately fell silent, for fear that Shira might hear what they were saying.
