Ever so slowly, the male Legend raised his head, glancing to the girl that had stumbled over his feet that were splayed out. With narrowed eyes, he realized that this was not Farin, as she was not clumsy in the slightest, nor sounded so young.
He had no idea who this one was, but maybe... just maybe... they had come to rescue him? Clearing his throat, he winced as a scratchy sound came out, though one of his ears flicked up curiously as he spoke. "You... came for me...?" Loki winced at how soft his voice sounded, and how defeated it was. Maybe he'd been here longer than he'd thought.
Lue seemed to trill at the sight of Loki, zooming over to curl at the base of his neck, and under his hair. He fizzed for a moment before emitting a puff of dark flame, resembling that of smoke; or perhaps it had been smoke, supposed to resemble flame.

Now that had hurt. Mayu let out a large groan as she slid to the floor, dropping the coat which she was still holding to the floor as she rubbed her sore side. She leaned her head against the wall, having gotten quite a headache from that fall, and looked over to Loki as she attempted to push herself back up.
"I guess I have," she replied with a shrug, "Lue led me here. I see he knows you?"
She paused for a while, before looking to the coat that she had dropped to the floor earlier in her fall.
"Are you cold?" the girl asked, picking the piece of clothing up from the floor and dusting it off before holding it out to Loki.

"'e's my fire sssspirit." Loki hissed, moving to adjust his position, only to be stopped short by the shackles that made him prisoner in the cold, damp room.
In silence, he opened his tired eyes fully, staring at the coat before his eyes moved to the shackles mournfully, wincing, his ears flicking back. He heard another drop of water splatter against the ground, the sound seeming to echo in the room, making it unbearable for him to hear.
Of course, if that was the only thing one had to listen to, it was no wonder why most would go mad in a dungeon.

"Here." Mayu wrung out the coat and draped it over Loki like a blanket, before taking a seat upon the slightly damp floor besides him.
"I guess we're stuck here, huh?" she muttered, glancing towards the general direction of the stairs in the darkness. If she had thought to take a torch off from the wall before she had mindlessly jumped into the darkness, she might have been able to find something that would help in getting them both out of that place...
Silently cursing herself, Mayu leaned her head back against the wall. Not feeling the slight recess in the wall as she leaned back, the child was surprised to find the section of wall sliding away behind her, and made it known as she fell back into the newly discovered entrance with a scream. A rather loud one, at that.

Startled beyond belief, Loki jerked as he felt the chains open, falling down with her with a thud and groaning. Lue flitted down as if nothing had happened, his maw open in laughter
"Where..." He couldn't bring himself to finish the question, and stood up, glancing down the pathway. There was barely any light at all due to Lue, and if Lue was stronger, he would have made a good torch.
Unfortunately, that was all they had, and they could only see a few feet in front of them in the small space. The place was cold, and Loki shuddered, offering the coat to Mayu. He could not get warm as long as he was wearing the damn Valkyrie armor.

Mayu shook her head, warm enough in her layered winter clothing. She had been expecting it to snow, so she had overdressed for the weather outdoors --- which, coincidentally, happened to be just perfect for the cold conditions in the path.
"I think you need that more than I do," she said, watching Loki shiver from the cold.
Taking a few steps forward, she waited for the other to follow before continuing on. After all, he was carrying their light source.

"N-no." Loki hissed between his teeth, unable to speak more than a few coherant words at the moment. He spread the coat apart and dropped it on her shoulders, rapping his armor and stating that the armor was all he needed - either that, or the armor was all he could take at the moment, as it prevented warmth from seeking his body.
Either way, he gave little indication that he needed the coat, and merely gave it back to her; after all, she had less clothing than he did.
Moving his arm and glancing to Lue, Loki peeled back a bit of the chainmail that hung over his wrist, wincing at the sight of the scars that were embedded into his skin. The tugging was to no avail, but he raised his crimson eyes and regarded Mayu calmly, a kind of hesitation in those eyes.
"Why... are you helping?" He licked his lips, emitting a sigh as he found his voice. "I hate you." No. He didn't hate. Loki shook his head. "... I dislike you," He corrected himself.

Giving a shrug of her shoulders as the coat was returned to her, Mayu slipped it on over her parka.
"I'm just saying that you look way colder than I am," the child commented, though she didn't push the case. If he didn't want the coat, then she wouldn't make him wear it.
"You can ask for it back later if you decide that you're cold," Mayu said, crossing her arms over her chest as she watched him. A hand went up to scratch her cheek in thought as she listened to his question, unsure of the reason why she was helping someone who was a stranger to her.
"Well," she finally sighed, "I can't say that I like or dislike you, since I don't remember you. So I guess I came out of boredom." The Legend shrugged her shoulders again in indifference, beginning to walk forward again without waiting for Loki.
"Now do you want to get out of this place or not?" she asked, slowing her pace so that the other could catch up.

Stunned, Loki's ears flattened against his skull out of disbelief, but he followed quickly, realizing that he was nodding.
"Yeah..." He was a small bit appreciative, and kept fiddling with the chainmail, making an annoyed sound.
The pathway curved to the right, revealing three different pathways; two of which were dark, but the middle was full of light, a straight shot to a pedestal which revealed to be holding Loki's lantern.
It seemed far too easy.

As they reached the three-forked split in the path, Mayu stopped in place. Her eyes scanned each of the paths before settling on the brightly lit one in the center. She placed her hands on her hips, thinking about the plethora of traps which could be housed in such a seemingly harmless hallway --- and then walked into it anyway. She was getting sick of all the darkness that this building housed.
There were no poisonous arrows shooting out at her yet, which was a good thing. Her boots echoed as she stepped down the hall, the clomp-clomp-clomp following her until she reached the end of the pathway and the pedestal.
She turned back to look at Loki, giving a thumbs up to signify that it was safe to walk through.

Eyes narrowing in distaste, Loki glanced at both dark pathways before stepping forward, eyeing the floor warily. Lue let out a small cry as he left Loki's shoulder, twirling around the lantern before brightening a bit, then giving Mayu a grin before perching in her hair cozily.
"It's too quiet." Loki stated. He finally succeeded in ripping off an arm of the chainmail, throwing it to the ground with a sneer. Take that, stupid armor.

Mayu returned the smile at Lue before looking over to Loki with a brow raised.
"Now that you mention it, you're right," she exclaimed, looking in both directions down the expansive hallway. "It's almost eerie."
She looked back down to the lantern in thought, pondering ideas out loud.
"Should we take it?" she finally asked, eyes fixed on the pedestal. "It could be rigged."

"Rigged?" Loki spoke softly, about to say more but was interrupted by a cold laugh coming down the hallway. He reached for his lanter, his expression hardening.
"I've had enough of the Meddlers."

"Rigged," Mayu nodded in response, holding her hand up to tell Loki to wait a second as she kicked one foot up, attempting to remove the boot while standing. After a few seconds of fumbling and hopping up and down, she managed to pop the pink aviator boot off, immediately feeling a chill from her left foot as she put it down.
"I think this should be about the weight of your lantern," she said, holding it up and comparing it with the lantern side-to-side. "You can never be too safe."

"Actually, I wouldn't put it past them." His hand hovered over the lantern, and with a flick of his eyes, he motioned for Lue to come over. Lue obeyed with a trill, launching off of one of Mayu's branches like a springboard, landing on Loki's shoulder with a small 'oomph' sound.
"Don't sense anyone nearby, but the place doesn't feel right." Lue stated, glancing to Mayu with a tilt of his head.
"So how are we going to do this? Just, whoosh and place?" Loki indicated the lantern. He needed it.
