Ahh... I had a feeling a subject like this would be here. (:
Like the others above stated, Yoru and Ran are technically two different beings... but not seperate people. The trauma in their childhood caused them too create someone unlike themselves to protect themselves. Yoru and Ran are completely opposite from Sora and Sunao; Yoru is smooth and seductive while Sora is laid-back and clumsy. Ran is whiney and forward with what he wants while Sunao is quiet and secretive... and the fact that Yoru and Ran tend to indulge on Sora and Sunao's... inner-most desires (or at least that's what I've collected). So I suppose what I'm trying to say is that Yoru and Ran were created as a slight shield from their reality when forced to live in the labratory.
... But, that's just my two-cents. ^^
I think what also was an important detail, that wasn't included in the anime, what that Minato and Shinichirou were seperate personalities... which encouraged Aizawa (gawd, I hate that name so much >__<) to study split personalities and mind-control... (plus the whole Nanami-business) and viola; Sora and Sunao became test-subjects. =D

yeah i read online the whole thing with Shinichiro and Minato.... personally, if its true in the games i think at the very least its not true for the anime. if it were, itd be more exaggerated but since it wasnt even mentioned it seems they just tweaked it a bit to not include that. i understand where youre coming from with the whole thing for Yoru and Ran but i dont get why youre adamant on not allowing probability of it being more magical to shine through.... its an ANIME! anything is possible, so for all anyone cares i could say Yoru is the lost soul of a magical talking fish and it could be probable if there ever was such a fish in the anime. obviously thats not true, but i got a funny image from that XD anyway, you see what im saying? if something has any probability due to some obscure technicality/altered reality, then its all cool and can have actually happened in the anime. i meanreally, if youve seen any magical girl anime then you know an anime can take the impossible and make it happen XD and thats just one reason i love it so much, but thats all besides the point... on another note, how was everybodys holiday of choice?

I would probably be more open to the possibility if they gave more open info on Yoru and Ran leading to that possibility. =D I'm not saying that it's impossible, but I'm not saying it's possible, either.
And the holidays are dreadful and boring. Urgh. >__<

yeah i know what you mean, especially when one dislikes their family XD but i wish we had more info on Yoru and Ran, thatd clear up a LOT of things, now wouldnt it?

Now I'm curious about the game(s). They're probably not released in the US, right? I wonder how different the game is from the anime.

i guess so but not i dont believe theyre in the US... i tend to research a series when i get into it, so i know a few things. the games are high rated and you can wind up with pairings other than SoraNao and that fact disturbs me. but no the games arent in english... at least i dont think. could always find a script of it online, i suppose.

Oh, there are extreme differences between the two; especially in the details regarding Sora and Sunao's pasts. =3
Ahh, I agree. Sora and Sunao is my utter crack. Haha.
I don't know much more info on Yoru and Ran except the fact that Yoru likes to flirt with EVERYONE and likes to mess with Sora, even.

The last time I checked, the game hadn't been released in the U.S.
I know that it's a very yaoi dating game where you play Sora/Yoru and you can hook up with any of the characters in the game. I'm completely unaware of the plot of the game, though. I have heard that the yaoi aspect of it is more...intense...than the anime. I think I should research it more. Unfortunately, most of what I have found so far has not been in English. Sukisyo needs a larger fan base in North America. -.-

Yes... (sigh), it does. But I do believe it's downloadable at aarinfantasy... along with other BL-dating sims, mind you.
;D
The plot of the game and the plot of the anime are basically the same... there are just differences regarding characters, timelines, etc., etc...
Of course, I'd rather play it for myself instead of constantly reading spoilers on the net. xD

im ok with reading spoilers, cuz i know for a fact that i never WILL play it myself... for a variety of reasons, mind you. one being im 14 and theres no way in hell i could get a game like that. another being like you said, its hard to find scripts and stuff in english due to lack of north american fanbase. another is id have to buy it myself and my mom wont let me get a job. so yeah... if spoilers is all i can get, then ill take em and be happy. the wikipedia artciel on the games is very informative, though. it tells you what pairings you can wind up with in each game o_O some of them are scary... oh, and i dont thin kthe article has any details on their pasts either.... where can these details be found?!

I totally agree with you....They are so serparate beings 3nodding sometimes I wish Ran and Yoru would go away but at the same time I don't think I could stand them not being there. I mean where's the excitement if both Ran and Yoru were gone wink And yes I did stop the show numerous times to observe their facial expressions sweatdrop They're just so darn cute! heart
