I've played it once, and it was hard because the DM wanted us to play in character. It was my first time doing a table top RPG, so I kept asking questions until one of the other players told me that my character sounded weird. I was a human bard with really high charisma (which I really don't have in real life) and was a pacifist. All I pretty much did was heal. It got pretty boring after a while.

I've played one campain, my character was a halfling druid. It was pretty crazy because none of us knew what we were doing including the DM. xd But since we were all for clueless the DM went easy on us. There was one time that I tried to destroy an object that made music that made you want to flee. I had god maguc resistance so it didn't effect me the first turn, but the majority fled. However my group wouldn't let me destroy it. Being a halfling Ididn't have a chance when they decided to tie me up, then they failed their saving roll against the fear and fled. I faild my roll too but was unable to flee, being tied up and all. I blame them for my character's resulting insainity. mad I was so mad. xp

Oh gods that's terrible! Your poor halfling laying there listening to that music and being unable to run. It's too bad your Escape Artist check wasn't high enough; you could've tried to wriggle out of the ropes, but if I was the DM, I would've put a penalty on it because of the fear effect.
Playing in character is hard to do right at first; it's something that really comes with time and practise, and honestly you have to really know your character!

I've played in a few different tabletop RPG's, but D&D has a nostalgia that will never go away. I'm in a campaign now where I'm a neutral druid. I'd probably have an alignment change to evil if it weren't for the paladin keeping me in line. xd I'm also about to start in an evil campaign for winter break that is SO promising! The evil cleric spells are AMAZING. And a little goodie for the RPGers. . . I refer to it simply as The List

Never done D&D, sadly. :/ My pen-and-paper experiences are limited to White Wolf games (Changeling, Werewolf, Exalted, etc.).
Wouldn't mind giving it a shot someday, though.

I have been playing D&D since the early nineties, which makes me feel old since i know what THACO is. I haven't played recently since the group I game with has been playing champions, seven seas and over the edge alot. But sometimes there is nothing like min maxing a character and meeting a group of misfits during a fight in a brothel. Ah memories.

LMAO I've never seen the list before! Its' got some real good ones on it.
122. The paladin's alignment is not Lawful a**l.
486. No how tough the encounter was, I will keep the congratulatory a** slapping to a minimum.
461. Tasha's Uncontrollably Hideous Sister is not a real spell.
289. My character does not have the flaw Addiction: Helium. 290. I cannot figure that the dungeon we're in is the Pac-Man maze and point it out to the rest of the party.
I'm sure there are more but the list is 850 items long.

I love playing D&D, but I haven't played in sooo long, there's no time. I hate having to deal with new people who won't stop harassing me about teaching them to play.

I dont' mind new people asking me to teach them (like that ever happens) but I DO mind if they wont teach themselves. Like, they need me to point out EVERY LITTLE THING and can't/wont look up anything on thier own. Hello, the book is in front of you. There's a table of contents AND an index. Please use them. Then, if you have a question about something on the page, ask me. xp

I've been meaning to start playing, this guy I kinda mess with plays and has gotten me intrigued -- I'm very intimidated by all of the numbers, though. And all of the memorization. I can't stand it when a game I'm watching gets slowed down by people looking things up and arguing numbers.
HEY. Is there any chance of getting an online game running? OP, do you know how to DM?

I love D&D, our group is so silly. Whenever we get stopped by a scout or guard or something we say random stuff like, "We are the Muffin People, take us to your leader!" which annoys our GM a lot so she makes random arrows shoot us XD

I hate it when a game gets slowed down by numbers and looking stuff up too, but sometimes it's the only way to make sure things are fair. Most of the guys in our group have page numbers and book sections memorized so there's little lag when looking things up. I hate it when someone's turn comes up and they're like "Um.....gee, I don't know what to do. Let's see..." and they take FOREVER. I have to admit though, I've done it on one too many occasions too.
I think trying to run a d&d game on Gaia would be too hard; even in towns or the forum.

My first character was a barbarian, then another barbarian, then a bard and another bard, then a druid with no pants xd and a druid with clothes. Then I ran my own campaign and I really enjoy being a dm, it is really a lot of fun.
