Believe me. This is not a natural fear this is like a rabbits fear being chased down by a fox. MORE than that. There'd be no way I would touch it and if you all understood exactly the fear I felt in it you would agree.

The little girl seems more to me like something unresolved. An issue that is dragging you down that you think is innocent and non-important in your life. The darkness is almost the suppression of the situation. Everything in the begining of the dream is uniform and structured. Perfectly aligned until the girl shows up. She comes from that same structure (thus the similarity in coloring). She wants you to face what it is the issue was yet a larger part of yourself wants to hide, which is why it seeks the darkness.
This could be something referring to a stage in your life when you were dreaming this. The feeling of being tied to something and you wanted freedom, perhaps a minor rebellion against a mind set or a change that had occured.

your subconcious was just telling you something. since you had it for so long it means you didnt understand what it was saying. but since it stopped you already resolved the problem.
also, only you can know what exactly it was talking about. what was going on around that time in your life?
