Like my mother, I thought I would create a sort of journal/scrapbook for the little Naiad egg I found today....I will leave some space at the bottom of each page for him to write in when he is old enough to read and write.
From Alaera's Journal I found something special today. I was exhausted but couldn't sleep for some reason. It was a nice calm evening and I thought it might be relaxing to go walk on the beach and watch the sun set, so I slipped out of my tree and started off. It was getting dark faster than I expected though, I guess I haven't adjusted to the winter time yet. I knew I wasn't going to make it to the beach on time but kept walking, maybe the sound of the waves would put me to sleep. I let my power flare for a bit so I could see in the dark. I don't use it as often as I should and still can't control it very well, especially when I'm emotional, but it's slowly getting better as I age. It still exhausts me when I use it though, which was why I was so tired today. Sally thinks I should learn to control it and I suppose she's right. Besides, Sylve loves it and I can't resist showing off for her.
The only light out now was the moon overhead ( and well, me ) but like always I didn't want to call extra attention to myself, so once I got out of the wooded area, I kept the power levels to just as much as necessary to see. I was right, the sound of the waves was calming, but now that the sun had set it was getting a bit cold. I sat down on the sand, shivering against the breeze, and brought my legs up to my chest. I let my mind wander for awhile as I sat there listening. 
I don't know how long it was that I sat there, I guess I lost track of time, when I saw something glint in the sand. At first I just thought my eyes were playing tricks on me in the dark, when there was another glitter in the same spot.
I crawled over to the area, the sand gritting against my knees softly. I didn't see anything strange...wait! Light reflected off of the polished surface of something round, almost completely buried in the sand. I reached down to pick it up and blew gently on it to dust away the remaining sand desperately clinging to it and examined it closer. 'Such a pretty rock' I thought. It was a dark blue with white sparkles and a green glow about it. Wait, green glow? Rocks don't glow.
That was when I felt a slight beat to it. I almost dropped it in surprise. Uncertain, I held it to my ear and listened intently. I didn't have to wait long, in just a few moments time, a slight thump echoed from it. "What in the world??"
Then I remembered what had taken place on this very beach just a few weeks ago. So much had happened since then I had almost forgotten about it. They had found eggs of a new Pae species, Naiads. I frowned at the memory of the Naiad egg I had found, it seemed to be cursed with bad luck. I looked at this egg and it seemed different somehow. I thought they had all been found though, that little faerie made such a big deal over them and had insisted on gathering them all up. I looked at my egg again...I guess I can understand how this one could have been missed, especially in the dark. The moon would have to be shinning just right on it for it glimmer like it had. A sudden thought occurred to me... maybe it had been the light of my power and not the light of the moon. I suddenly felt very destined to have found this little egg. I looked around me for that fluttering faerie and not seeing her anywhere decided it was safe to take home with me.
I set off for my tree at once, I guess feeling a bit guilty. On the way home I remembered that the faerie had mentioned that the eggs needed to be under water when they hatched. I wasn't sure how old my egg was and decided I needed to put it in some water before my mind would be able to rest tonight. The idea of it hatching while not in water...well I didn't even want to have to think about it. It seemed like forever until I finally got home. I put the egg down in a safe place and walked over to the small stream nearby. 'How in the world am I going to do this' I thought scratching my head.
I think I might have started to doze off when it hit me. A dam! Well a sorta dam anyways. Bleh, this was gonna get messy. I raised the level of my power so that it was light enough to see what I was doing perfectly and set to work.
A few hours later I was done. I had widened and deepened part of the stream so that it made a mini lake. At each end there was a sort of crude gate that I had fastened out of some branches, that slowed down the flow of water. It wasn't perfect but it was dark and I was tired and it would have to do for now. I went back over the tree, grabbed the egg and plopped it in. "Welcome home, Asrai." I had decided on the name while I worked. It was something I remembered from my readings...it meant water-faerie. I thought it fit nicely.
Now that that task was done, I rinsed off my hands downstream. I felt filthy but the water was too shallow to take a bath here and I was too exhausted to go anywhere else tonight. The dirt and mud and wood stuck under my claws were driving me crazy though and if I wanted any sleep tonight they would have to be cleaned first. This was the first time I had ever actually used them to make something. I remember feeling proud as I climbed back up into the safety of my tree and blissfully drifted off to sleep.

Today was Asrai's first Christmas. I had to leave him alone when I went over to Sally's, poor guy, but there was no safe place there for him to be underwater. I felt bad, but brought him back something special.
Alaera's Today is Christmas. We all must have been really good because Santa sent us lots of plushies. Sylvestanya got the most though (well, she kinda horded them, but she is just a baby and she doesn't have that many toys.) Sally picked out a green plushie with snowflakes. I picked out a pretty purple plushie, it seemed really special somehow. Sylvestanya got the rest of them. Oh, except a very special one. Santa even brought little Asrai a plushie that looks almost just like him!! It's blue but it has bubbles instead of stars like Asrai. At first I thought it was kinda silly for Santa to bring him a plushie, cause well, how would he be able to play with it since he has to stay underwater. But once I finally got it away from Sylvestanya and got to hold it, I realized that the material it was made of felt funny, almost rubbery. It was water-proof. That Santa, he thinks of everything!! When I got back to the tree later, I put it in Asrai's puddle for him to keep him company until he hatches.

January 3, 2007
Alaera Asrai hatched from his egg today. It was a really good thing I had put it in some water or I don't know if the poor little guy would have made it. I was out doing chores around the tree, when I heard the funniest sounds - bubbling, splashing, gurgling. I raced over and saw a little head peeking out of a cracked over egg shell, bubbles coming up everywhere. At first I was afraid he was drowning but I guess he just had to get used to breathing or something cause the bubbles stopped after a bit.
It took him awhile to get fully out of his egg (his tail got stuck in it, it was so cute) so I didn't get to have a good look at him until later. He's so handsome though, blue with twinkling stars all over, green hair and the most mesmerizing yellow eyes.

January 15, 2007Asrai disappeared today. I have no idea how he managed to get out of his little puddle, but somehow he did. The whole gang went out looking for him, I was really worried since he couldn't be out of the water for very long. When we went back to the tree though, there he was happily swimming about in his puddle again. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam close to shore with her head poking out. She didn't see her Dad around or any other land-walking paes. She hadn't met any others like her yet, so she just swam about. [chainedfaye] Asrai was feeling adventurous today...which was why he had somehow managed to hop and flop his way out of the shallow lake Alaera had built for him and followed a river down into the lake.
He couldn't believe his eyes! So much water all for him to play in! He swam about weaving in and out of imaginary hoops having the time of his life. He was just starting to get tired when he spotted the Naiad and swam up alongside her.
"'lo" He bubbled out. spookyx7 Aquamarine was surprised as another naiad toddler swam up to her. "HI!" This was an exciting day, she hadn't met any like her before. She was still learning words so her name came out like this, "Me Aqua!" [chainedfaye] Asrai wiggled his fins in greeting. He wasn't very good with words yet either but somehow managed to get his point across in butchered baby talk. "'lo 'Qua. Me Rai."
"pway??" He asked and started swimming in circles around her. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled and nodded. "Pway, yesh!" She dove under the water and then flipped over him. "What, pway?" She didn't know any games yet. [chainedfaye]
"Pway fun!!" He had watched Alaera play with the others and always wished he could join in but had been stuck in his little pond. Well no more! He knew exactly what game he wanted to play, it was one of his favorites to watch.
"'folo da leder! fun fun. me do, then you do! 'atch!"
At this, he rolled over in a circle and when he was back right side up, looked at her expectantly.
spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded to say she understood. She copied his action and turned in a circle and then waited for him to do the next move. "Fun!" [chainedfaye] Asrai swam up toward the surface as fast as his little fins could and jumped out of the water, twisting his body in midair and landing back in the water with, at least in his mind, a gigantic splash.
He looked at the girl, almost challenging her to see if she could do better. spookyx7 Aquamarine watched his every move and then smiled as he looked at her for her turn. She swam as quick as she could and did a flip as close to his as she could. She then swam back to him and waited for the next dare. [chainedfaye] He glowered, a bit of a competitive streak shining through. Not fair! She was pretty good at this game. Oh well, he'd just have to do something harder next.
Asrai started turning in circles to build up some momentum and then began to do a series of somersaults that took him down into the deep depths of the lake. It was fairly dark there and he grinned mischievously knowing he would be hard to see in the dark...only the glitter of the stars on his skin and his bright yellow eyes gave him away. He hid behind some plant life and waited for her to follow him down. spookyx7 Aquamarine copied him as good as she could, but when she got into the darer areas she couldn't see him any longer. "Rai?" She mouthed in the dark. She swam about looking for him. [chainedfaye] Asrai watched as she swam closer. He waited 'til she was just the right distance before shooting out and yelling "boo" as loud as he possibly could. spookyx7 "Ahh!" Aquamarine yelled as he scared her. She then giggled and ran away from him to see if he would chase. [chainedfaye] Asrai laughed as she yelled in fright. That was certainly fun!! Seeing her take off swimming, he let her have a head start. He supposed she could be the leader for awhile now. After waiting a few moments, he took off, slipping through the water, slowly catching up with her. spookyx7 Aquamarine turned her head to see the other naiad following her. Was she leader now? If so, then she decided to test him and did a few rolls in the water and waited to see if he followed. [chainedfaye] Asrai's eyes narrowed as he got closer to his "prey." He thought it was funny, Aquamarine being his prey...if he could just sneak up on her maybe he could pounce on her.
'Oh no' he though as she turned her head to look at him. So much for being a sneaky hunter. When he finally caught up to her, he repeated her rolls, but tried to make his look better (which of course, according to him, they did). spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled as she saw him copy her. She was the leader. She swam up the the surface of the lake and did a flip out and then turned over in the air so the she fell back in by her back. She turned back over to watch him. "Turn!" Which meant his turn. [chainedfaye] Asrai frowned. That looked kinda hard...but no girl was gonna beat him! And so up he swam, flipping out of the water, but he couldn't quite manage to flip his body around in time, and landed back in the water on his belly with a flop and an 'oomph!'
He sank down a few inches from the surface before the sting wore off and he used his little flippers to rub his tummy. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam over to him. "Rai, ok?" He looked as if he was hurt and she didn't want him to be hurt. She looked at his belly to see what had happened. [chainedfaye] Asrai wanted to cry, it hurt like the dickens! But he put on his brave face instead, he couldn't cry in front of a girl.
"'Rai tay. Jus tingy. 'ike tis" He reached out and started to tickle Aqua's tummy. spookyx7 Aquamarine's serious look was broken as he started to tickle her. She broke into a laugh, which cause air bubbles to flow to the surface of the lake. "Stop..." She said, because it did start to hurt. [chainedfaye]
Asrai tickled her a little bit longer after she told him to stop. He reached out and touched her before zipping off, yelling "'ag!!!!" forgetting that she didn't know how to play.
spookyx7 Aquamarine continued to laugh then noticed that he had swam away, did she hurt his feelings? Wait, what did "ag" mean? Aquamarine swam after him to figure it out. [chainedfaye]
Asrai was still swimming as hard as he could when he finally looked back and noticed she wasn't chasing him. He stopped and sighed, 'Silly girl what is she doing?' he thought as he started to swim back to her.
spookyx7 Aquamarine caught up to him, "What, ag?" She wanted to play, but needed to know what they were playing. This was the first real time she had played, seeing how he was the first like her she had met. [chainedfaye] Asrai wasn't sure how to explain it to her. His speech wasn't all that good. He thought for a minute before reaching out and touching her on the shoulder again and saying "'ag! 'Qua it." He swam a little ways away before turning. "'Qua case 'Rai." He waited hoping she could figure out what he meant. spookyx7 Aquamarine watched him explain and then her face lit up, she knew what he meant now. "Oh, yeah!" She then swam after him to show that she knew what they were playing. [chainedfaye] He waited for her to get close to him then swam off a bit as hard as his flippers could flip and then repeated the process, keeping a close eye on her.
He giggled evilly, an idea popping up in his head and let her catch up with him. He wanted to be it now. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam as fast as she could, at first not getting too close, as he kept speeding up and slowing down. Then all of a sudden he slowed down enough for her to poke it. "You it!" She exclaimed as she turned around and started to swim away. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam as fast as she could, at first not getting too close, as he kept speeding up and slowing down. [chainedfaye] Asrai grinned and chased after her, letting her stay ahead for awhile. He waited a bit for her to slow down, and then he put on a sudden burst of speed, moving up and over her, only to swoop down and pounce on her back rolling them both in circles. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam and saw him follow. She felt him get closer and then out of nowhere he was on top of her. She felt herself rolling over and over with him on top. "Whoa!" She yelled. [chainedfaye] Asrai was laughing when they finally stopped rolling. She was fun prey!!
He heard her yell though and sobered up. "'Qua k? Joo hurt?" he asked her afraid he had been too rough in his play. spookyx7 Aquamarine shook her head at his question. "You scare me." She was slowly starting to talk better by adding more words. "Me ok." She said with a nod. [chainedfaye] Asrai actually felt kinda bad. "'Rai sowwy. No mean to scare 'Qua." spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "Ok. Me fine." Aquamarine didn't want him to feel bad, he just startled her. She wasn't expecting him to get her like that. [chainedfaye] Asrai grinned and wiggled his tail fins excitedly. He had never gotten to swim around so much before and was having fun with this girl. "Wha 'Qua want pway now?" spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled and caught her breath. "Yeah, pway more!" She got a funny grin on her face and then placed her hand on his back and then swam off. She decided he was "it" again. [chainedfaye]
Asrai scrunched his face together. That wasn't fair, she cheated, he didn't even know they were still playing!! He pouted for a moment before realizing she was getting away! He couldn't let that happen and he started to race after her.
spookyx7 Aquamarine looked back to see Rai following her. She zigged and zagged and even went around rocks, hoping to loose him. She doubted she could though, he was pretty fast. [chainedfaye]
Asrai zagged and zigged trying to catch up with her. She had gotten pretty fast but that only meant she was more of a challenge. And he had almost caught up with her when something glinted in the corner of his eye. "Strange" he thought and turned to see what it was.
It glinted again and he turned back to Aquamarine to ask if she had seen it too, when he discovered he couldn't see her anymore.
"'Qua?"
spookyx7 Aquamarine darted into a hole and then turned around. Rai wasn't there. She didn't think she could loose him that fast. She her him say her name and swam back out. "Rai?" She swam to him wondering what happened. [chainedfaye] "'Qua!! You go poof! 'Rai thought you lost" the little Naiad nodded seriously. He was incredibly glad to see the little girl again. Not that he would ever admit it, it was kinda scary to be out here so far in the lake all alone. Now that she was back, he remembered why he'd stopped chasing her in the first place.
"See 'Qua, see" He pointed into the distance. "Sumtin siny and sparky. Wanna go 'splore?" spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled as she found Rai. She looked to where he was pointing and saw the light. She wondered what it was as well and nodded, "Yesh, lesse!" She swam toward it, but slower this time, not wanting to lose him. [chainedfaye] Asrai swam alongside her and leaned in close to whisper in her ear "Shhh we be 'venturers now. Have to sneak up on bad people guarding siny treasure. " He puffed up his chest and declared "Me Captin 'Rai! Whos you?" spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled at his serious face. "Hmm.." She screwed her eyes up in thought, "Me be, First mate!" She remembered the pirate stories her Dad told her and Captain's always had first mates. [chainedfaye] Asrai was darting behind plants and rocks, trying to get closer to the shiny object without being spotted by the bad guys.
Hearing her, he swung around and looked her up and down, examining her before nodding. "'Tay you can be fist mate 'Qua. Make good fist mate." He turned his attention back to their treasure.
"'tay, on 3 we attack. One, seven, eleventy, six, thwee! Charge!!!" He raced off yelling his battle cry. Like Aquamarine, Asrai had been told pirates stories too, but he tended to mix them together with all the other good stories Alaera told him. spookyx7 Aquamarine giggled, despite herself, Rai was so funny! Aquamarine nodded, "Yay!" She would be a great First Mate.
She followed closely behind him and nodded her head when he said it was time. "'K!" She waited for the charge and followed closely after him, not really sure where they were headed. [chainedfaye] Asrai slipped through the water, wiggling his tail back and forth furiously. He glanced back to make sure 'Qua didn't get lost again, they had to get to the treasure before the bad pirates saw them!
He was going so fast he lost track of the where the light had been and when he finally noticed this he stopped in his tracks, and looked around curiously. He started to turn around to face Aquamarine. "'Qua, where siny light go?" spookyx7 Aquamarine followed behind and then startled at his sudden stop, "I dunno? Pirates escape?" She wasn't quite sure where the light could have gone, or even what it could been. [chainedfaye] Asrai swam around in circles around Aqua looking for it. "Me no kno. Maybe Bad guys see us comin and hide it? We have to look harder, can let priates get our treasure. 'Qua you go that way. 'Rai go this way. " He swam off to the right. spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded, "Hope they didn't take it all..." She hadn't noticed but she was beging to learn her words much better now. She went to the left as he asked her to do, but didn't seee anything, "Nuthin here!" [chainedfaye] He was about to answer the same, when he suddenly saw the sparkly light again. "Ova here 'Qua." spookyx7 Aquamarine heard his call and swam directly over. "Wha is it?" She asked as she looked at the pretty light. [chainedfaye]
"Me no know" Asrai replied to her question. He swooped down and picked the object up and brushed it off swimming back over close to Aqua and showing it to her. "Not seen noting like it fore."
spookyx7 Aquamarine looked down at what he had found, but wasn't sure what it was. "Me either!" She touched it with her hand but still didn't know. [chainedfaye] "Hmm" he hummed as he inspected it closer. It was certainly sparkly. But it had teeths too, long pointy ones. He looked back up at Aqua. "Is pweety. Maybe we should take it to chief treasure inspector. Does 'Qua know one?" he asked. A big person like his sister would know what it was but he didn't want to go ask her. She would be mad at him for sneaking off and he'd get in trouble. Noooo, he didn't want that. spookyx7 Aquamarine looked at Rai and shook her head, "No...I dunno one." She looked up and thought about her Dad, would he know? "Daddy up there, but on land." She didn't know if he would know though. [chainedfaye] Asrai frowned. He couldn't go up on land. Not yet anyway. Alaera had told him once when he was a big boy he would get a special necklace that would let him. You had to be ancient to get a necklace though. "'Rai can't go up dare yet. Lt's hide good and come back later. You know any secret spots?" spookyx7 "Yeah, me neither." She wished to walk on lad, but didn't know how. "Well, der a shell, really big, we could put in in." She started to swim in the direction, thinking it was a perfect spot. [chainedfaye] "Oh yeah good idea 'Qua." He followed her closely, keeping a careful eye on the area around them, watching for more bad guys, and holding his treasure preciously. He didn't want it to break after all. spookyx7 Aquamarine kept swimming until she found the big clam shell. It was HUGE! Much bigger than she was, "You think we can open it?" She wasn't sure, since they were so small. [chainedfaye] "Wow, that is big 'Qua." Asrai's language skills were slowly starting to get better too. He rather liked calling her 'Qua though. He thought for moment before pass their treasure to Aquamarine. "You protect. Stay here, 'Rai be back."
He swam off looking for something he had seen earlier while they were sneaking up on the bad men. When he finally found it, he pulled it out of the ground and drug it back to Aqua. Phew, it was sure heavy. When he got back, he lifted it up in the water to show her - a long metal rod.
"We pry open!" spookyx7 Aquamarine took the treasure and then waited for Rai. She didn't have a clue on how they were going to open this thing.
When Rai came back Aquamarine smiled and nodded, "K, that sound good!" She then set the treasure down to help him with the job of prying the shell open. [chainedfaye] Asrai stuck the end of the metal rod in between the two shells halves. "Press down hard 'Qua." he instructed. He heaved and grunted and groaned as he pushed down with all his might. Just as he was about to give up, the two halves split apart slightly.
"Urry 'Qua put treasure in!" spookyx7 Aquamarine did as told and hurriedly but the treasure in. She then swam back to Rai, "Wait, what if we can't open it later?" It had been so hard to open it in the first place. [chainedfaye] Once the treasure was inside and that Aqua was safely away, Asrai let go of the rod and the clam shell snapped back shut. He was breathing heavily. That was harder than he thought. He frowned...he needed to get stronger!
"Umm" Rai thought quickly "we wait till big and strong then we come back. Easy to open then. Have to make sure treasure secret and safe. Let's hide metal thingy close in case we need again." spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "Oh yeah, big and strong would be good!" She then looked around for a hiding spot and found a rock with a space underneath, "This good for the metal thingy?" [chainedfaye] Asrai swam over and nodded. He went back to drag the rod over and placed it under the rock. "Now we cover with dirt and more rocks to hide extra good" he ordered as he started to moving dirt over the rod. spookyx7 Aquamarine did a salute and followed her captain's order. She placed a few rocks and then made an X. "Treasure is always under X." Although this wasn't treasure, it was the thing that would get them their treasure. [chainedfaye] Asrai made a very girlish sounded giggle, before slapping his hand over his mouth. "'Qua funny. But smart. Should we make map, so we don't forget where treasure is?" spookyx7 Aquamarine giggled as well, "A map would be great! How we make one?" She didn't think there was paper under the water to use...but they couldn't write it in the sand. [chainedfaye] Asrai opened his mouth to respond only to shut it again. She had a point, how would they make a map? He had to think! And he always thought better when he was swimming. So back and forth he swam, eyes darting around trying to find a solution. Asrai was just about to give up when he saw it a ways in the distance. A rather large (to him anyway) flat shaped rock. He gestured to Aquamarine to follow him as he swam over.
"'Qua look! We use flat rock as map! Just need something to write it on now." spookyx7 Aquamarine watched as Rai darted back and forth. She followed him quickly when he called, "Ooh, good idea!" She then looked around until she found a brightly colored plant, "Maybe this will work to mark it?" She showed him and hoped it would. [chainedfaye] Asrai looked at the plant she was showing him. He couldn't for the life of him see how it would work so instead he just passed her the rock. "'Qua do it!" spookyx7 Aquamarine took the plant and smashed it up, leaving a little bit of dye on the rock. It looked kind of like a map. "This good?" She hoped so, since she wasn't sure how else to make it. [chainedfaye] Asrai squinted at it for a bit before deciding it was acceptable and nodding his head. "Come, bring over here, we need to find secret spot we both member easily to hide map." spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded, if the map was found or lost their treasure would be gone forever. "Where's a good place?" She had found two hiding spots already. [chainedfaye] Asrai thought for a moment before remembering a nice little hidey hole he had seen when he first entered the lake. "It long way from here 'Qua by where we met. You think that good? Easy for both us to find." spookyx7 Aquamarine thought for a moment and then smiled, "That's a good place. It can be our meeting place." She nodded her head agreeing with her own idea. "That's where we will know to meet each other." [chainedfaye] Asrai nodded. "Yeah that good idea too. We have secret meeting spot. Let's go" he said as he started swimming back to the spot. spookyx7 Aquamarine followed closely behind. "Yeah, it can be our secret and no one else can know. Ok, you tell no one?" She didn't know anyone else except family and she wasn't going to tell them. [chainedfaye] "Me no tell no one. 'Rai Pomise." They were almost to there, and he swam harder, eager to show her. It was a sort of small hole, cut out of the rocky edge. "We hide in here. Can leave goodies for each other too." spookyx7 Aquamarine followed and looked at the little hole. "Oh, it's prefect! Goodies will be good." She giggled to herself and tried to think what she would hide as her first goodie to him. "I think I better go, but we meet here again, yeah?" [chainedfaye] Asrai was a little distracted. He could swear he heard a rather pissed off Alaera yelling his name. "Wha... oh yeah we meet here again. 'Rai must go too, sounds like he's in trouble. Byebye 'Qua" he yelled back as he started to swim off at top speed. 'Rai met nice girl today. We have fun. Find sparkly treasure. 'Rai leave pretty stuff for pretty girl in secret spot. Me hope see her again.

'Rai was exploring the Waplei Ri Pond today, lots of fun breaking out of the puddle and sneaking off. 'Rai was looking for something pretty to leave 'Qua in the secret spot, but no luck so far. And then 'Rai saw a shadow of something floating up on the top of the surface, so 'Rai swam up to get a better look. 'Rai stuck head above water for a bit and saw a great big scary looking forest close by. There was a piece of fruit bobbing there and 'Rai was hungry so he grabbed it and took a great big bite.
It smelled nice but wasn't very tasty, saltier than the ocean. And then 'Rai felt funny all of a sudden. Prickles all over and tingles too. Shivery with cold. It went away soon though and 'Rai was about to leave the icky nasty fruit thingy when he noticed another thing floating in the water. It was a pretty necklace, shiny and sparkles. 'Rai thought 'Qua would look pretty with one so he took it and swam off to the secret spot to leave for her. 'Rai hopes she likes.

February 12, 2007I went back to 'Qua and I's secret spot to leave her something pretty I found, and she was there! So we went out to play together. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam to the special meeting spot. She was looking forward to seeing 'Rai again. They had been giving treasures to each other, but hadn't seen each other since hiding the map.
She got to the spot and held on to her necklace. She had grown to a child since last they met and wondered if he did the same? She had also gone on land. She was excited to tell him all about it. [chainedfaye] Something incredibly strange had just happened to Asrai. He didn't quite understand what, but it was strange. He had seen a piece of fruit bobbing up and down on the surface of the water and being hungry he swam up and took a bit. And suddenly he felt all prickly and tingly and cold all over. And then he spotted a pretty necklace floating on the surface too and thinking 'Qua would look very pretty with one, he grabbed it and swam to their secret spot to leave it for her.
She was already there though! "'Qua!!" He exclaimed and eagerly swam over to see her, noticing that she had gotten bigger since he had last seen her. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled as she saw Rai swimming toward her, he was bigger too! "Rai! Hi, look at you!" She said with a giggled, they were both bigger than they were the last time they had met and each had the necklace. "Oooh, you got the cool necklace too!" [chainedfaye] "You pretty now." Asrai blushed slightly as he said it. "Look at me? Why?" He started to turn about in circles trying to get a good look at himself, but looked more like a dog chasing it's tail.
He stopped and held his necklace up, noticing she was wearing an identical one. "I have one too? Where'd you get your's 'Qua?" He wore a rather confused look on his face. spookyx7 Aquamarine blushed brightly, "Thanks." She then laughed as he swam around in circles. "Oh, I found it after I grew. It's the coolest necklace." She then swam close to him, "It makes it so we can walk on land." She whispered this info in his ear like it was a huge secret. [chainedfaye] Asrai's eyes grew huge at her secret revelation. "But I've never been able to before." He looked it over carefully - it looked just like an old regular necklace to him. "How's it work?" spookyx7 Aquamarine giggled, "I know, silly! This necklace is magic, it gives you leggies." She did a little twirl in the water. "You want to try it out?" She had been out a few times now, to get a power and to visit with Laughs a lot. [chainedfaye] Asrai glared at his skeptically. He didn't trust magical things, but if 'Qua said it was ok, he'd trust her. He slipped it over his neck. "Has 'Qua used it before to get leggies?" he asked, still a little uncertain about the idea of having legs. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled and nodded, "Yeah! It's fun! I'll show you." She swam to the surface and then held the necklace as she walked out of the lake on her newly formed legs. She jumped up and down and waved to Rai, "See! Cool, huh?" [chainedfaye] Asrai followed her up the surface and his eyes almost popped out of his head. She had leggies! Two of them! He stuck his head out of the water and breathed. He could breath!! "'Qua you have leggies. And I can breath" he stated the obvious with what had to be a look of shock on his face. spookyx7 Aquamarine covered her mouth as she giggled, "Yeah, silly! Come on and join me!" She said and she jumped up and down on the legs. That was a thing she couldn't do in the water. [chainedfaye] Asrai couldn't help but grin back at her. She looked silly herself jumping up and down like that, but he was never gonna tell her that. Using his arms he heaved himself up over the edge of the lake onto the land. He was amazed to see as he looked down that he had suddenly sprouted leggies too now. "Whoa" spookyx7 Aquamarine ran over to him and stuck out her hand to help him up, "Told ya. Isn't this way cool?" She thought it was so neat to come out of the water although, really the water was her favorite place to be. [chainedfaye] Asrai grabbed her hand and pulled himself upright. It all felt so strange...he tried to balance himself on his new legs and take a step wobbling crazily. This was nothing like being in the water.
He nodded back at 'Qua's question halfheartedly. This would take some getting used to. spookyx7 Aquamarine watched his wobble, "Don't worry you'll get it." She kept her grip on his hand to make sure he didn't fall. "Is there somewhere you've always wanted to go?" She didn't know how to get everywhere, but thought she could at least try. [chainedfaye] A blank look crossed Asrai's face. Somewhere he'd always wanted to go? Well, the water had always been just fine for him! He didn't like this whole land thing, but 'Qua seemed to and he wasn't gonna let her think he was a sissy! 'Sides if she stayed on land, she'd need someone to protect her. He puffed his chest out. And that someone was him!!
He tried to take a step forward and wobbled even more, almost losing his balance. He was rather glad she was holding onto his hand and he squeezed it lightly in gratitude. "'Rai doesn't know anywhere to go. Has 'Qua been anywhere fun?" spookyx7 Aquamarine held him up as good as she could. It was hard to get used to. "Well, I went to the hut and drank a potion. I'm going to have a power, not sure what yet though." She was so excited she barely took breaths as she spoke, "Then I played ball on the beach..." [chainedfaye] Asrai finally let go of her hand. He thought he should be able to do himself now. That balance thing was a bit tricky. He was still a bit unsteady but was able to stay upright. "Power huh? That sounds interesting, let's go there!"
Play ball? He hadn't heard of that game before. "What's play ball?" spookyx7 "Yeah, ok!" She thought for a second, "I think it's this way." She led him the path that she had taken with her Dad not too long ago.
"A ball? It's a round think that bounces. We rolled it around." Aquamarine nodded and knew she had explained it just right. [chainedfaye] Asrai nodded his head wisely. Now that he had walking down fairly well (although he did still stumble a bit on invisible rocks in the ground every now and then) he was starting to notice the strange things surrounding him. This world was very different from the one he knew, and as he followed 'Qua along he stared in wonder. spookyx7 Aquamarine turned to see Rai's face. He looked how she felt the first time she was on land. "It's weird, huh? To think other paes live here all the time." Aquamarine smiled and kept walking. [chainedfaye] When 'Qua turned around to look at him, Asrai realized his jaw had been hanging open and quickly snapped it shut. He didn't want to look silly in front of her. "Yeah, it is weird. I mean I've seen it before from the surface of the water, but actually being here is...well its crazy. "
Asrai noticed something colorful on the ground next to the path and bent down to examine it. As he got closer, he noticed it smell very pretty and so he plucked it up and held it out for 'Qua. He wasn't sure what it was but it's pink shade seemed to match hers. spookyx7 "Yeah, it is crazy. I don't think I would ever choose to live up here over living underwater." She said with a giggle. Aquamarine loved the water and everything in it.
Aquamarine saw him pick up something and walked over to him. "What did you find?" [chainedfaye] "Yeah me neither. It's cool to visit, but nothing beats feeling the water rushing against your fins. " Asrai agreed with her wholeheartedly.
He tucked the soft vibrant pink plant behind her ear. "I dunno what it is but it smells nice and looks pretty." spookyx7 Aquamarine looked up a the pink thing as he placed it behind her ear. "Yeah, it looks pretty! Thanks!" She said as they continued their walk to the potions cottage. [chainedfaye] Asrai beamed happily, glad she liked his present. As he was looking around, curious about almost everything, he realized he was completely lost and separated from the water. Panic surged through him but he forced it back. 'Qua knew there she was going and as long as he stuck with her he would be fine. He would just have to make sure 'Qua was fine too.
As Asrai was contemplating his new self-appointed protector role, he caught of glimpse of something reflected in a small pool of water at the side of the path. He stopped. That couldn't be right could it? He moved closer to the water and started down at his reflection.
"'Qua," he finally said in a broken, worried voice "I'm gigantic." spookyx7 Aquamarine stopped and turned to look at Rai, "Huh?" She walked over to see what he was looking at and then smiled. "I wouldn't say gigantic, bigger maybe. You grew! Didn't you know?" She giggled a bit, it was a bit funny that he didn't know he had grown. [chainedfaye] Asrai straightened at her remark. "No" he replied rather defensively. He snuck another quick peek. So he grew huh? Well that made sense. He tried to discretely flex a muscle in his arm. Hmm, not very big. He'd have to work on that. But otherwise, he looked pretty good (so he thought).
"I wonder when that happened" He mused out loud. spookyx7 Aquamarine stifled another giggle as she watched him flex. "I dunno..you were bigger the moment I saw you today." She paused to look in the water herself, "I think you get the necklace when you grow. That's when I got mine." [chainedfaye] "Really?" Asrai looked down at the necklace accusingly. "Well I found the necklace floating on the surface after I ate this really funny tasting fruit that made me feel weird. " The light bulb went off. "Hey I bet it was that fruit thingy! " He exclaimed. spookyx7 Aquamarine shrugged, "Fruit that makes you grow? Who knows? This out-of-water-world is so weird." It made since, she didn't know much about the world outside of water. [chainedfaye] Asrai nodded, agreeing with her. "Yeah this place does seem strange. I suppose you get used to it when you live here though." He chuckled, "I bet they would think underwater was really weird if they could come and visit us."
Asrai looped his arm with hers. "Let's go! I want to see this hut and get my power! I wonder what it will be" he mused as thoughts of super huge muscles and super strength flowed through his head. spookyx7 "That's true. It probably would be." She wondered if any paes that weren't like them ever ventured into the lakes depths.
"Ok, it's this way." She said following the path her father and her had taken a while back. "I don't know what mine is yet." She hadn't figured it out just yet. [chainedfaye] Asrai peered over at her. She didn't seem any different. "What do you think your power could be?" he asked a little nervously. He remembered that he had no idea how you even got your power - what if they made him take a test and he couldn't pass it??
After a moment he anxiously questioned her again "Are we almost there?" spookyx7 "I don't know..you drink a potion and then something happens later." She hadn't felt different after drinking the potion, but she knew she was. "Yeah, it's just around the corner." She said as she guided him there. [chainedfaye] Asrai saw the roof of the hut over the trees and slipped his arm out from Aquamarine's to run ahead...

March 13, 2007After walking with 'Qua to the power hut, I went inside by myself to get my power.
[chainedfaye] Asrai saw the roof of the hut over the trees and slipped his arm out from Aquamarine's to run ahead. He was very eager to get his very own power and to be able to show it off but when he got there, no one else was there. He remembered though that 'Qua had said she had to drink a potion. He moved inside the darkness of the cabin where he could just barely make out a table. And on the table, there was an empty bottle with lots of little bottles on shelves nearby. Maybe he had to make his own potion? He moved in closer to grab the bottle, noticing a parchment of paper lying next to it, that he just brushed aside. Who read directions anyway?
He reached up to grab one of the little potions, and accidentally knocked it over, spilling it into his potion bottle. A look of dismay crossed his face before he shrugged. Oh well. For his next choice, he chose a orange-ish sorta looking metal (Adamantium) and poured lots of it in. After all, metal was strong, and he wanted to be strong too. For the next ingredient, he picked a blue bottle and poured it in. Blue was the color of the water, and he was blue too, so what could go wrong? His potion was fizzing a bit now and he thought it was complete. Asrai knew he needed to drink it, but after eating that piece of fruit and growing he was a little suspicion of such things. He sniffed it carefully and was tempted to just leave without drinking it but he knew 'Qua was just outside and that she had drunk a potion too and turned out fine. 'Well, bottoms up' he thought as he brought the bottle to his lips and drank it down. "Mmm sweet" he said as he walked out of the little cottage to join back up with 'Qua. *crosses fingers* I hope I get a good power that will make me real strong!

After I drank the power potion I went back to 'Qua and we hung out for awhile more.
[chainedfaye]
....he wasn't in the hut very long he thought but when he came out he couldn't see 'Qua. Of course that might have something to do with the brilliant light that blinded his sensitive eyes after the darkness of the cottage.
"'Qua?' He cried out uncertainly, half worried that she had left him here and was out wandering alone without him to protect her.
spookyx7 Aquamarine watched as the other ran to the cottage. She sat and waited for him to come out, when he did he looked a bit disorientated. "Right here! You ok?" [chainedfaye] Asrai's face brightened when he saw 'Qua. This dry land place was a little intimidating. "Yeah, it was just dark in there. I made a really yummy tasting potion. I hope I get a super cool power." A mischievous thought sudden crossed through his mind. "Hey," he asked 'Qua slowly "what I made and drank another potion? You think I'd get two powers???" He eagerly turned around and started to walk back to the cottage. spookyx7 "Umm...I don't think so!" Her Daddy told her you only get one. "Daddy says the potion unlocks the power inside you, so you only get one." She nodded her head at the end to punctuate her comment. "You better not go back." She was too afraid to follow him, what if he got into trouble? [chainedfaye] Asrai turned around to look at Aquamarine as she talked to him. What she said kinda made sense - and he liked the idea that he already had a special power inside, it just had to be awakened. Who knew, maybe he had multiple powers inside too then right? He smiled. Besides, something in the tone of her voice made him think twice about going back anyways. He shrugged.
"Eh, alright. What should we do now though 'Qua?" spookyx7 Aquamarine shrugged, "Dunno. What do you wanna do?" She didn't really know what to do on land. Under the water they could play and maybe add to their treasure shell. [chainedfaye] Asrai thought for a minute before grinning. "I don't really know, but wouldn't it be great to just walk back home and shock everyone at being on land?" He could just imagine the faces of his family as they looked on him walking around with him. He chuckled softly as he reached down and idly scratched at his arm. He was beginning to feel rather itchy...and well dry. spookyx7 "Sure, that would, but I've been home already. So, let's go to yours." She smiled and then noticed Asrai scratching, "You want to to into the creek a little first?" She was ready to feel the cool water again. [chainedfaye] "Naw, if I went home they'd probably make me stay and then I wouldn't be able to hang out with you again for awhile. 'Sides I can do that anytime. " Hearing her comment, he wondered what would have prompted it until he happened to look down and noticed the scratch marks across his skin. "There's a creek around here? A dip would feel great right about now or even a glass of water. I dunno about you but I feel dried out.
"I guess you can take the fish out of the water but you can't take the water out of the fish" he laughed with a grin. spookyx7 "Yeah, I think there is one near here." Aquamarine pushed through the trees and found the little stream. "After you." She said with and grin and a giggle. She wondered if the stream would be different than the lake. [chainedfaye] Asrai ran and jumped into the stream cannonball style. He landed with a gigantic splash and sunk down to the bottom of the stream before coming back up sputtering for air. Apparently, the change back to Naiad took a moment or two. It felt so good to have his fins back though. He grinned up wickedly at Aqua still on the bank, and used his tail to splash as much water as he could on her. spookyx7 "Stop it!" Aqua said as she threw her hands out to defend herself. As she got wet her feet started to become fins so she dashed into the water. After she was in she started to splash him back. [chainedfaye] Asrai gave a hearty chuckle as he got splashed. "You know, that's kinda useless when we are both already under in water." He swam in circles around her, happy to be back in the water again. spookyx7 "I don't care, it's payback!" She said with a giggle. She then dove under the water and followed after Asrai, "Where are you going?" [chainedfaye] Asrai shrugged. "Dunno. Figured that it eventually would lead to the lake, wanna find out where it comes from?" He didn't particularly care for walking on the land, but that didn't mean he couldn't explore it from the water. spookyx7 "Sure, sounds good. I think I'll follow you!" She smiled, she did enjoy being in the water much better than land. She felt safer and freer. [chainedfaye] Asrai grinned in his boyish way as he did a barrel roll in the water. It was fresh her, not quite as salty and it felt good on his fins, almost like he was taking a bath. "Ok, let's go! He swam off, looking around at the river bottom carefully for anything that might be treasure and occasionally popping his head out of the water, to take a look around and get his bearings. "Hey 'Qua" he called out as he stuck his head above the water yet again, "You know where we are?" spookyx7 Aquamarine followed Rai with a big smile. He asked her where they were and she poked her head out. "Umm...no...." She hadn't been this far away from the lake before, "Do you?" [chainedfaye] Asrai hesitated before shaking his head. "No idea." He hoped the weren't lost, and as long as they didn't get out of the water they should be able to find their way back to the lake pretty easily (he hoped anyways.) But still he didn't want to go someplace that might be dangerous - swimming up a stream in Dragnid Forest might not be such a great idea for instance. Better let 'Qua decide. "Do you want to go back or keep exploring?" spookyx7 Aquamarine looked backward and then forward, what was she to decide? "Umm...maybe we should go back?" She liked exploring, but was scared of where they may end up. She had never been this far from home and it worried her a bit. [chainedfaye] Asrai nodded. "We can come back some other time with a map or something. And maybe I'll have my power by then and will be super strong and protect you!" spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "That's a great idea!" She then giggled at his other statement, "Well, maybe I can protect you!" She then turned, "Race you to the lake!" Without a response she took off. [chainedfaye]
Asrai almost snorted...her protect him? He didn't think so! He'd probably die of humiliation if 'Qua had to rescue him. So caught up in his thoughts, he didn't realize 'Qua had already taken off. He dover back below the water and started to swim as fast as he could, eager to catch up with the girl.
spookyx7 She felt him on her tail so she sped up. There was no way he was going to beat her! She didn't want to look back in case it threw her off, so she just kept on swimming. [chainedfaye] Asrai grinned mischievously as he neared 'Qua. Her swishing tail was just too close...and too tempting. He gently grabbed onto the delicate fins and hung on as she swam, letting her pull him forward. Piggy-tail ride! spookyx7 Aquamarine continued to swim, until she felt a tug at the end of her tail. She turned around to see Rai on her tail. "Hey, that's cheat'in!" She started to shake her tail to see if he would come off. [chainedfaye]
Asrai's grin widened and he raced forward to swim along beside her. "What the matter 'Qua? Can't keep up?" he chuckled.
spookyx7 "What, you were using me!" She then smirked at him and pushed harder to show him, she was not slow!
She then saw the opening to the lake appearing. "We're almost there and I'm gonna beat ya!" With that she swished her tail faster and harder. [chainedfaye] Asrai kept nose to nose with 'Qua, trying to make the race a close one. But as they reached the mouth of the lake, he slowed his speed ever so slightly, and let her go first. Hey, he had to let her win every now and then, or she might not want to play with him anymore!
He drifted into the lake after her, readjusting to the saltiness of its water. He had a huge grin on his face as he congratulated her "Hey, you've gotten faster. Congrats! " spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled as she slid into the lake. "Thanks!" She wasn't sure the win was just on her own, she felt that maybe he was being sneaky. "So, what now?" [chainedfaye] Asrai shrugged. "I dunno. I'm getting kinda hungry though what time is it?" He swam back up to the surface of the water and popped his head out. The last rays of sunlight had fallen while they were racing and it was dark out now. "Wow, the day went by fast." spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded and then followed him up. "Oh, man! It's late. We should be heading back home, huh?" She was happy to keep playing, but didn't want him or her to get into trouble. [chainedfaye] Asrai reluctantly nodded. "Yeah I 'pose we better. Today was fun though, we need to explore the island more next time!" spookyx7 Aquamarine, "Yeah, next time we need a map or something. Maybe Daddy has one?" The map made her think briefly of their treasure, but wasn't sure it was time to look at it yet. "See, ya, Rai!" [chainedfaye] Asrai waved goodbye to her. "Bye 'Qua! See ya later!" he yelled back as he swam off in the direction of home. Maybe once he reached the land he would walk home...wouldn't Alaera be so surprised? spookyx7 Aquamarine waved back and swam toward her home. She wondered if there was something to eat. She was a bit hungry after all the exploring.

A note arrived for Asrai today while he was out doing who knows what. It looks kinda important and I didn't know when he would be back, so I went ahead and took a peek. Just in case, you know? He must have gone and drunk his power potion sometime cause this is what it says:
Guardian_Iris Ooo! It looks like Asrai has drank the sweet Potion of Stable Portals. I wonder how it will effect him? Congratulations Asrai!
The Guardians are pleased that you have chosen to grow and expand your role on the island.
However, drinking a strange potion doesn't come without consequence. You feel urges and instincts that you never have. Your hands tingle a little bit, alerting you to a change that is beginning in your body.
Maybe its obvious to you what is going on, or maybe you need time to figure it out; it doesn't matter right now because the reality is, you now have the ability RUNEGATE! (Teleport) ((Obviously, this ability will start out weak, with many limitations, but it is up to you, [chainedfaye], how you choose to develop it. Runegate means that Asrai can open portals by drawing runes. However, he does not instinctively know what rune will take him where on the isle; he must teach himself. This ability will be unique to Asrai only, however you may allow him to have other abilities as Pae'il are magical creatures. Just be aware that the Guardian Blessed ability is the only official one however. If you have questions, feel free to ask. Please remember, all powers come with weaknesses too. The more well-rounded the ability is developed (ie, strength AND weakness) the better the chance of being chosen for Elder when they are older. )) Doesn't that sound like such an awesome power! I'll have to go and get some books on runes from the library so he can start to learn as soon as he gets home! I'll leave this in his journal though, in case he gets home while I'm gone. I hope he sees it!

Help me! I've been trapped in the library for days, possibly weeks now! Alaera has turned into some kinda of super obsessed tyrant who won't let me leave. Once she found out my power, she insisted on helping me learn the runes. I know she's trying to help but I want to be out having fun! And certainly not on land. I've gotten a bit more used to being above water, but I can't get rid of the dry itchy feeling of my skin. It's really distracting.
Studying is at least somewhat useful though I suppose. I've learned a couple of runes so far. Most of them are pretty complex. There's really not a book that we can find that gives the specific runes for each place on the island, just basic features like mountains, trees, rivers. Alaera says I'll have to do some experimentation to try and figure out the runes for the names and combine them with the basic runes. That really doesn't sound that fun to me, I don't like the idea of trying some random rune and ending up somewhere strange.
It took a lot of studying for Alaera to even let me try teleporting anywhere. It takes a lot of concentration to work and the perfect rune formation too. It's really only works small distances from like tree to tree so far. I suppose I really do need to keep practicing. I think it's kinda ironic the power the Guardians gave me...I mean, the only real place I want to be right now is underwater.

I finally got away from Alaera today and ran into 'Qua! It was so great to finally see her again. And the strange thing - we were playing hide and seek and we both grew into teenagers! How awesome is that? We're going to go exploring now!
[chainedfaye] What a relief!
Asrai had finally been able to get away from Alaera! Ever since she had found that letter from the Guardians about his power she had been on a rampage. Dragging him to the library every single day. He hadn't been able to get down to the lake in ages and he missed the feeling of the water flowing past his skin. Sure he had his little pond and the rivers nearby but it just wasn't the same.
At least a few good thing had come of her tyranny. He knew quite a few runes now and had teleported to different places, none of them very interesting or very far. And second, he had gotten quite used to the feeling of being on land (they didn't like the idea of water in the library for some reason) though no amount of time, would make him prefer it over the water. Especially the lake.
And so naturally the first place he went to when he finally escaped, was the lake. It had been a long time since he had seen 'Qua and he rather missed her company. So it was to their secret hiding spot he raced to, eagerly hoping to find that she perhaps left something there for him. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam along the lake. She had been practicing for a while now. She wanted to be as fast as she could, so next time she raced Rai it would be all her and not his slowing...she just knew that's what he had done.
She swam to the hiding spot, hoping he had left her something. She hadn't seen him in a while and well, missed him. He was her best friend after all.
She went and didn't find anything, but went o leave a note. She had received a map from her Daddy and wanted Rai to see it so they could plan out their next adventure. [chainedfaye] Asrai had been swimming not paying much attention to his surrounds when the flick of a familiar tail nearby caught his attention. He grinned. Well speak of the devil...err...devil-ess. He swam up behind her, waiting for just the right moment before he clapped his hands over her eyes, and whispered in a low voice "Guess who" in her ear. spookyx7 "OH!" She jumped a bit as the hands went over her eyes. "Well, hmmm....Rai?" Who else could it be exactly? She waited for him to takes his hands off to see if she was right. [chainedfaye] Asrai chuckled and released her eyes. He supposed it wouldn't be that hard to guess, after all who else would be at their secret hiding spot underwater?
"Hi 'Qua! How you been? Have any fun adventures without me?" the boy Naiad asked in a rush, excited to see his friend once more. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, really happy to see him! "Nope, nothing fun happens without you. What about you?" She figured he had had been having fun, he knew where to find it. [chainedfaye] Asrai grimaced. "I've been trapped in a library for the past month. Alaera went all crazy and made me learn a whole bunch of runes for my power. " His face brightened. "Hey did you ever find out what your power is 'Qua??" spookyx7 "Really? That sounds neat." She wasn't sure what runes were, but figured he would let her know. "Um...air bubble? I don't know how to use it though. I need a pae that can't breathe underwater to try it on." He Daddy told her about, but she hadn't used it yet. "How does your's work?" [chainedfaye] "Really? That sounds kinda fun. We could bring friends down here to play with us then!" Asrai exclaimed in excitement. "Mine? Well I can use little markings called runes to teleport anywhere on the island! I have to know the specific run though or it won't take me to the right place. " spookyx7 "Yeah!" Of course, Aquamarine didn't really have friends, other than Rai. He could swim and didn't need to use her power. "That sounds cool!" His power sounded really neat.
"Hey, wanna play hide and seek?" She hadn't played that in a while and really needed other paes to play. [chainedfaye] A smile broke out on Asrai's face. "Yeah!" He was happy to finally be able to play again. "But who's it?" Since it was her idea, he might as well let her decide. spookyx7 "You're it! Start counting!" She swam off before he could start. She swam down and found some seaweed to hide amongst.
She stayed hidden, but felt a weird twinge...she felt lightheaded and for a second was scared. It passed pretty fast though. She then sighed and figured it was nothing. She didn't notice that her hiding spot was as good anymore...her fins were showing! [chainedfaye] Asrai turned around, closed his eyes and started counting. When he reached 10 though, a tingle came over him and he opened his eyes in surprise as his voice had just squeaked and then became much deeper. He coughed wondering if he was losing his voice. Shrugging, he turned back around and raised an eyebrow as he immediately spotted a pink tail poking out from behind some seaweed. What was she thinking hiding there? He frowned...had she forgotten how to play in his absence?He started to swim behind the bush. spookyx7 Aquamarine tried to stay hidden, but for some reason she kept feeling her tail coming out of the seaweed. "What..." She tried to squish herself down, but still didn't fit. What was going on? [chainedfaye] "'Qua" he started but paused as his newly deepened voice sounded odd to his ears. He tried again "'Qua" but this time his voice squeaked! He raised an eyebrow - something weird was definitely going on here. Maybe she would know what. As he came around the edge of the bush though, he stopped mouth open in mid-speech.
'Qua was big. Very big. Much bigger than before. The first thing that came to his mind escaped from his lips. "Whoa" spookyx7 Aquamarine heard her name and the whoa, but didn't quite recognize the voice. "Rai?" She poked her head out the seaweed and saw him. "Whoa is right! You're big!" She said to him as she swam out of the weeds. She didn't even notice herself she was just staring at him. [chainedfaye] "I'm big?" he replied skeptically, shaking his head. "You're the one that's big!!" he exclaimed pointing at his friend. He looked her over carefully. Her hair seemed to be a little bit longer and she was..curvier. She looked really pretty that way he mused for a moment before shaking the thought clear from his head. By now the significance of her words had sunk in...Wait if she had grown maybe he had done so as well. He looked down at himself, and was excited to notice he too had gotten bigger and .... more muscular. Yeah! He grinned. About time he got strong! Now he could really protect 'Qua when they went adventuring. spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded, "Yeah you are? Me too?" She looked down and he was right! She put her hands down on her and felt the teen body. "How weird and cool!" She said with a huge grin as she turned to look at him again. [chainedfaye] Asrai continued to grin. "Yeah. It feels weird. And listen to my voice! " It kept squeaking at random times. He hoped that would go away and soon. spookyx7 Aquamarine covered her mouth as she tried not to laugh at his squeaking. "Yeah! So, now that we're teens, what you wanna do?" [chainedfaye] "Well" he thought for a moment "Let's go exploring! Hey you wanna see if I can teleport both of us! I'll just run back and get my notebook and a map..." he trailed off waiting for her response. Despite having studied so much for the past month he still hadn't memorized all the runes yet. Hey they were complex! spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "That sounds cool! Yeah, I want to see how you do it and try it!" She was really excited about his power. She did need to try hers out, but didn't really know many paes to try it on. [chainedfaye] "Yeah alright!" he exclaimed. "You wait here, I'll go get my stuff and be right back!" He swam off as quick as he could, excited to get started. He really wanted to impress her with his power...he just hoped it worked right this time. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled as Rai ran off. Maybe she should start calling by his full name, as he was big now. She shook her head at that thought, "Nah." He would always be Rai to her.

'Qua and I go exploring! [chainedfaye] Asrai swam as fast as he could, reaching the beach within minutes. Needless to say he was quite excited about about seeing his old friend again and then growing into a teen together. How great was that! And now they were big enough to finally explore the island!
As soon as he reached the beach he jumped out, and took off running. Alaera was actually at the tree for once but he didn't stop to talk, just grabbed his notebook, waved at her, and starting running back in the direction he had just come from, grinning at the bewildered look on her face. He was quote pleased to discover how much faster he could run and that his stamina had increased. He liked this new body of his!
The only reason the male noticed the strange gusts of mind was that his newly elongated hair kept blowing into his face, blocking his vision and getting stuck in his mouth. Bleck! Hair did not taste good. He was gonna have to get a hair tie thingy some day. He didn't even notice that during the last leg of his journey that rain had started to fall. He merely jumped into the lake, still clutching his notebook and raced back to 'Qua.
"I'm back!" he exclaimed a little breathlessly when he finally reached her. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam in a few circles, checking our her newly grown body. She could swim a bit faster and seemed like she had a bit more strength, maybe she could beat him now? She would have to challenge to a race after the exploring.
Aquamarine looked up with a smile, "Didn't take you long!" She giggled, he looked excited, which in turn made her excited. She was ready to explore and have fun! [chainedfaye] "Nope! It doesn't when you're big and strong and fast like I am!" He flexed his arm showing off his muscles playfully, before he started laughing at himself.
He waved the book in front of her for her to see. "I got my rune notebook, so where do you want to go?!?!" He figured he'd let her pick and just hope the runes would take them there. He didn't have much faith in them so far, but he wasn't gonna tell her that. Might make her think he was weak if he couldn't control his own power! spookyx7 Aquamarine giggled, "Yeah." She rolled her eyes and then laughed some more.
"Um...what about here?" She had the map her Dad gave her and pointed to the Fae Clearing..."You think Faes live there?" [chainedfaye] Asrai looked down at the map to see where she was pointing and shook his head. "Alaera lived around there so I've been there a couple times and never seen one. I think they're secretive and hide most of the time." He looked the map over carefully. "What about the mountains, have you ever been there before?" spookyx7 "Oh, darn." The thought of seeing a fae was cool, but if they weren't always around. "The mountains? Nope, you want to go there?" She was up for anywhere. [chainedfaye] "Yeah! That could be fun I've never been there before. I heard To'ul Mountain has a lot of caves and stuff. It don't know anything about the other one, 'cept that it's big! Do you?" He asked eagerly. He knew the rune for mountain and he was pretty sure he could figure out what the rune for To'ul was. spookyx7 "Sounds like a great place to explore!" Aquamarine smiled and nodded, she was ready for an adventure. "Now you have to show me how that power of yours works!" [chainedfaye] "Ok! I just have to draw the rune someplace!" The boy paused to think for a moment. "I think we better go to the surface, I don't know if I can draw in the sand here and keep the lines clean enough with the water stirring everything up." spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded, "Sounds good." She smiled and then swam to the surface. She shook her hair out and then swam to the shore. She felt her feet form and then waited to see what Rai was going to do. [chainedfaye] Asrai followed her, swimming close behind. When he broke the surface of the water, he looked out over the lake. It seemed to be fuller than normal, the beach wasn't as wide as it usually was, was it? Something strange was happening he realized and looked up to the sky. Something wet and cold landed on his upturned face - it was raining. Hard. Lightning flashed and thunder echoed through the empty sky. "'Qua" He called out, "come back!" He hadn't expected their exploring to be quite this adventurous. spookyx7 Aquamarine had been so excited that she hadn't even noticed the weather until Rai said something about it. "Whoa!" She said as she watched a lightening bolt light up the sky. She felt scared and ran over to Rai. "I don't like this!" Under the water the weather didn't affect anything, really, so this to her was a nightmare.
"What is going on?" She asked him as she threw arm around him. She didn't want to look frightened, but she was. She heard a grumble and buried her head in his chest. [chainedfaye] Asrai threw his arms around her, instinctively rubbing her back comfortingly. He rather liked this - could get used to it even. "I think its just a storm 'Qua. I've never seen one this fierce before though. Do you want to go back underwater and wait it out? Or try to find a cave in the mountain and watch. I promise I won't let anything hurt you." spookyx7 Aquamarine felt his hands on her back and felt instantly better. She looked up at him with a few tears in her eyes. "Ok, a cave..." She did trust him, always had. She would let him take her where they would be safe. "I'll go with you." She said as she looked up at him. She even forced a small smile, which disappeared as soon as she heard another thunder-crash, "Hurry!" [chainedfaye] Asrai nodded and prayed that he got the runes correct on the first try. "Ok but stand there real still for me though, if the lines get mess up who knows where we could end up" He instructed her as he stepped away and referring to his small notebook every so often, started to draw the runes around her with a stick. He worked as quickly as he could but took great care. He would never knowingly place 'Qua in danger and wanted to make sure everything was perfect before he activated the runes.
A few moments later he carefully stepped over his runes next to 'Qua and pulled her close. He wasn't sure it was quite necessary for them to teleport together but hey he wasn't going to give up the opportunity. "Close your eyes" her warned her before closing his own and saying the words to activate the runes. Bright blue light filled the drawings he had just carved into the sand, flooding the area in their light and covering the two teens huddled together. He felt a pull as the ground disappeared under his felt, only to be replaced moments later with a soft thud as they landed. He opened his eyes and looked about.
"Where are we?" spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded and then put her arms over her chest to hold herself. She was scared and hoped that it worked fast. She watched Rai make the marks, the lightening flashed a few times lighting him up and making things seem more ominous.
When he was done she latched back onto him. She didn't care if she needed to to make it work, she wasn't going to lose him. She couldn't imagine what would happen she ended up one place and he was in another.
Aquamarine closed her eyes when he said and felt the ground disappear and then the thud. She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. It was still raining, but they weren't near the lake. "I don't know." She said as she stayed latched onto him. She wasn't going to let go until she really had to....or when she felt safer with out him. [chainedfaye] Asrai frowned, still holding onto the girl. He didn't plan on letting go either, not until he knew they were safe. The rune casting had taken too long, much too long. What if they were in danger sometime and needed to escape quickly? He would have to think of another way to activate his powers.
Meanwhile, he spun them in a circle, making sure they weren't being snuck up on by a predator. It looked like they were in a mountainous region so he must have gotten that rune right. And it was still raining so they had to be on the island somewhere.
A flash of lightning broke the sky, illuminating the mountain side momentarily. He thought he saw a giant opening in the cliffs. "Look 'Qua, I think there's a cave over there. Want to go take a look?" They might at least find some shelter. He thought the storm was rather interesting to watch but he knew it frightened her. The teen was starting to think this might not have been such a good idea. "Or do you want to go back home?" he asked softly, rubbing her back. spookyx7 She stayed with him as he spun around. She frowned and cuddled into him more as she heard the thunder. That was the sound she was the most afraid of.
She looked up with a small smile, "We can go to the cave, maybe the rain will stop?" She just wanted away from that sound. She didn't want to disappoint him and ruin their adventure with a newly discovered fear. [chainedfaye] Asrai smiled at her braveness though he knew she must be scared still. He could feel her tremble ever so slightly when a crash of thunder echoed through the sky. Taking her hand in his own, he led her the short distance to the cave, carefully looking inside for any signs of danger before leading her inside. It was a bit chilly and quite dark but provided a welcome relief from the rain. spookyx7 Aquamarine followed him and held tightly to his hand. She looked around the cave and sighed, happy to be away from the rain. "This is much better, thank you Rai." She said and she smiled up at him. [chainedfaye]
Asrai squeezed her hand reassuringly before letting it go, though he truly didn't want to. But it was dark in here and cold. He needed to find something to start a fire. "'Qua, I'll be right be. I'm gonna go take a look real quick and see if I can find some try wood or brush for a fire. I won't be gone but a minute and I won't go far. Just yell if you need me, ok?" He looked at her with concern, feeling guilty about leaving her here on her own when she was scared and vulnerable.
spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded up at him. "Ok, I'll be fine." She didn't want him to worry about her so much. She felt weird that she was so scared. She had never felt this way before. It was nice to have someone near to help make her feel better. [chainedfaye] Asrai disappeared and quickly scrounged around close to the cave entrance. He spotted some brushwood, leaves, and small sticks nearby and hurried over them to discover they were at least somewhat. It would have to do, it was all he could find. Coming back into the cave, he set them all down in the middle and started to rub the sticks together, hoping against all hope that they would spark. spookyx7 Aquamarine hugged her arms across her chest as she watched Rai. "You think it will work?" She hadn't really ever seen a fire before. Fire and water didn't mix and she didn't venture out that often. [chainedfaye] Asrai sighed. "I dunno. I can't seem to get it to work. How about you try?" he suggested handing her the sticks. "Just rub them together real fast." spookyx7 Aquamarine shrugged her shoulders, "I can try." She took the sticks and rubbed them together as fast as she could. She felt heat and then a spark flew off and started the wood on fire. "Wow...." She was amazed that it worked. [chainedfaye] "Wow, good going 'Qua!" Asrai exclaimed, settling down next to the fire, facing the opening of the cave to watch the storm. "Too bad we didn't bring any food we could have had a little camping trip huh?" A crack of lightening illuminated the sky. "You know the storms kinda neat to watch once you aren't in it anymore. " spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "Thanks." She blushed just a bit and then turned her gazed, "Yeah, that would have been nice." She still jumped at every thunder. "I guess, still freaks me out." She wasn't sure why though. [chainedfaye] "It's probably because we aren't used to such sounds, sounds don't travel very well underwater. And you don't have to worry you're safe in here. 'Side you have me to protect you!" He flashed her a beaming cocky smile. spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded as he was probably right. They didn't have weather under the water either. It was always calm. "Yup, my hero!" She said, trying to sound like her old self again. [chainedfaye] Asrai laughed. Him a hero? The compliment added to his already rather inflated ego. Now that they were out of the rain and had the fire burn, his skin had started to dry. As always it felt a bit uncomfortable, like being to small for him and stretched out tightly over his body. He looked around and saw that the cave led in deeper. "Hey you wanna go see what's back there?" spookyx7 Aquamarine looked to the back of the cave and shrugged her shoulders, "Sure...may be interesting." She wanted to be brave again. She felt weird letting him see her so scared. No one had ever her seen her like that before. [chainedfaye] Asrai rose and pulled two large sticks out of the fire, each burning at the end. He held one out for 'Qua. "Your torch my lady. " He bowed low, a playful smile on his face. "Lead on." spookyx7 Aquamarine giggled and took the torch. "Ok!" She took them toward the end of the cave. She looked back and forth and found two openings, "Which way?" [chainedfaye] Asrai looked back and forth between them. "Umm let's go left. " He didn't care for the feeling that was coming from the cave leading to the right. spookyx7 "Ok, sounds good." She headed to the left tunnel and shined her light before she walked in. It felt a bit damp inside, but nothing too bad. "Oh far do you think it goes?" [chainedfaye] He shrugged. "Dunno. There's only one way to find out though" He added before heading in behind her. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "That's true." She walked forward and was enveloped into the darkness of the cave. True they had torches, but the darkness seemed to swallow the light. "Whoa, it's dark." She said stating the obvious. "You sure we should keep going?" [chainedfaye] "Well we can always go back if you want? And could come back when its lighter outside. And maybe bring a picnic along with us. " He offered, though secretly hoping she might be as frightened of the darkness as much as the thunder and hold onto him again like before. spookyx7 "Nah, let's keep going!" She wasn't scared of the dark as it was really dark under the lake in certain places. "But, so we don't get lost..." She reached out for his hand to take into her own. She couldn't imagine getting lost from him... [chainedfaye] Asrai grinned back at her, though whether because she had wanted to continue exploring, or whether because she had just grabbed hold of his hand, he couldn't tell you. Both, probably. But he didn't waste the opportunity as he held onto her hand firmly. "I think I hear something...can you?" He cocked his head to the side listening quietly for several moments. Yep, there it was, just barely able to be heard in the distance the sound was so faint. "It's almost like a dripping sound. You think there could be an under mountain lake?" Eager to find out he resumed walking forward, pulling 'Qua along with him. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled and had a slight blush. She didn't know why him holding her hand would cause that, but it did. "Yeah!" She had heard the noise and it was a faint dripping sound. Her whole body felt the urge for water and she followed him. "That would be soooo cool!" She could feel the water on her skin already. [chainedfaye] "Heck yeah it would be!" He'd love to go for a swim too. The cave started to slope downward as they walked and after several minutes a strange glow began to emanate from somewhere..or something further down. Images of some terrible glowing beast, fangs dripping with saliva, began to fill his mind and his pace slowed. spookyx7 Aquamarine felt him slow and frowned, "What's up?" She squeezed his hand to show she was there to help with whatever he needed. She saw the glowing and wondered what it could be and then smiled, "Maybe its from the lake?" [chainedfaye] Asrai frowned. "Yeah maybe." He was suddenly wishing he had some sort of weapon. Why hadn't he thought of that before? "I've never heard of a glowing lake before though. Then again, who knows what to expect on this island." He half chuckled. spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "Yeah you never know." She held his hand and walked slowly towards the glowing light. "Maybe it's bugs or faeries?" She wasn't sure but that was a lot nicer than her other thoughts were coming up with. [chainedfaye] Asrai nodded in response and continued to walk forward. As they came around a slight bend in the tunnel, light flooded the huge chamber, blinding him momentarily. When his sight did return, all the could do was gasp in surprise at the scene in front of him. spookyx7 Aquamarine gasped and hid her eyes on Rai at the blinding light. "What is it, I'm too afraid to look." Really this was a perfect excuse to hug him, not that she realized it, though.

[chainedfaye] It was indeed an underground lake, the surface of which was crystalline clear, housed in a huge cavern. Some type of stone, embedded in the rock of the cavern walls, was emitting a glowing light of various colors, mostly a pale blue, with a sprinkling of pale greens and purples, with a rare pink occasionally. Looking up for the source of the dripping noise, Asrai noticed that there were several vents leading out of the cavern up into the sky above, the moon shinning brightly behind the numerous clouds. The rain from outside was steadily running in and dropping off of stalactites hanging from the ceiling.
"Oh 'Qua its absolutely amazing" He said in awe of the sight. spookyx7 "Really?" Aquamarine asked as she pulled away from him. "Wow!" It really was amazing. It was so beautiful. "Last one in is a rotten sea slug!" Aquamarine ran off and jumped in just after saying her tease. [chainedfaye] Asrai smiled indulgently at 'Qua giving her an extra moments lead before jogging off after her. The glittering cavern had him almost mesmerized in it's beauty. He felt as though he could spend his entire life here and be happy. His eyes swung over to the girl now beside him. 'Perhaps only...' he mused. As the neared the lake Asrai swerved over to 'Qua, plucked her up in his arms and jumped into the pool of clear water with her. spookyx7 Aquamarine was surprised as he caught up and then took her in his arms. "Hey!" She said just before they crashed into the glowing water. She felt her fin re-form and felt more at home, yet again. Aquamarine didn't slid out of his arms instead looked at him with a smile and a laugh. [chainedfaye] Asrai shook himself as his fins regrew. He smiled - he probably looked like a dog shaking off water but he couldn't help it, it always just felt so good to get back into the water. "So, who's the rotten sea slug, eh?" spookyx7 Aquamarine blushed slightly, "Umm...both of us since we tied?" She was still in his arms, but didn't move to be released. She didn't know why but she felt so comfortable in his arms. [chainedfaye] "Well, you're awful pretty to be a sea slug." The words slipped out of Asrai's mouth. He laughed a bit nervously as he realized what he had said. He...he hadn't meant to say that out loud....
He smiled, trying to hide how nervous he really felt and ruffled the hair on the back on his head, in what he hoped was a confident way. spookyx7 Aquamarine blushed more deeply at his compliment. "Thanks. You don't look like a sea slug either." She felt weird saying these things, but they just came out. Aquamarine finally looked around, "Should we explore now?" [chainedfaye] An enthusiastic grin broke out on Asrai's face at her response. Oh yeah, the confidence was back. "Thanks! Yeah, let's get exploring! Where are we off to first? And man, it feels so good to get back into the water!" spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled feeling more relaxed again. "Let's see what's at the bottom of this pond...pool...lake?" She wasn't sure what to call it since it was in a cave. [chainedfaye] "Sure thing. And I dunno what to call it either. It's too big to be a pond though." He "hmm"ed for a moment before adding "You know I bet we are the first people to find this place or else there would be traces of someone else here. So why don't you go ahead name it?" They were really explorers now, discovering their very own secret land. spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded, "You right! We probably are the first ones. How excitining." She looked around with even more interest. "Me name it? Hmmm... Shimmery Pond? Qua-Rai Lake? I dunno..." She wasn't very good at naming things. [chainedfaye] "Hmm..." 'Rai couldn't think of anything good either. This was harder then he had imagined it would be. "Well how about we explore first, then? Maybe we'll discover something special about the lake that we can use to name it?" spookyx7 "Yeah, that's a good idea!" Aquamarine smiled and swam forward. She found a pretty purple coral that was shimmery just like the lake. "Look, Rai! Isn't it pretty?" [chainedfaye] 'Rai swam up behind her to look over her shoulder. "That is pretty 'Qua...I wonder if we could find some more and somehow make a necklace for you?" 'Qua would absolutely dazzle with a necklace made of sparkling coral pieces. There to rows and rows of sparkly coral in all different colors. "Wow!" [chainedfaye] Asrai looked to where she pointed and was stunned at the site of the massive coral beds. He wondered briefly how this had all come to be here. Swimming over to the closest formation he touched it gently some of the newer coral flaking off under his fingers. He couldn't bear to break any off, they were much too beautiful to damage them, and he thought he may have read somewhere that coral was a living thing. He certainly didn't want to harm another living creature. Instead, he swam to its base, feeling around in the gravely sand of the lake bottom for pieces already broken off. There buried slightly was a treasure trove- coral in every shade you could imagine all sparkling as the light reflected off of it. There was enough here to make a necklace, bracelets, earrings, a crown, anything 'Qua could want. It was a bit rough though, not as worn down as the other pieces they had found as they had been protected from the lake bottom currents by the sand. He wondered if he would be able to smooth them by hand somehow.
And then the thought of treasure reminded him of the treasure the two of them had found when they were just toddlers. He smiled at the memory. He'd since learned what it was and had been planning to give it to 'Qua once the time was right. Perhaps that time would come soon. He just hoped that he could remember where they had hidden it. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam among the corals. The sight was too beautiful to behold. "They are too pretty to break." She agreed when she saw him looking for other broken pieces. "If this is here, what else is down here do you think?" She said as she swam back to his side. [chainedfaye] "A sunken ship?" Asrai joked. Though perhaps who know what other treasures they may behold in this mysterious lake. He glanced around a bit trying to decide what direction they should travel in next. The area behind the reefs of coral seemed to especially dark - he wondered what could be over them. Not wanting 'Qua to be hurt if there was something dangerous he told "Stay here for a minute ok" before swimming off in that direction. But it seemed there was nothing there were the rock wall of the side of the lake should be. He looked around puzzled.
"'Qua!" He called hoping she would come over and look at this. There didn't seem anything for them to fear here. spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded as Rai swam off to the dark part of the lake. She hoped he would be ok...as this thought popped into his head she heard him shout for her.
She swam to him and saw the wall. "Weird!" Why was there a wall? "Is this the cave?" She asked, not completely sure what she was looking at. [chainedfaye] "Hmm maybe it is a cave. Though it seems to be leading up somewhat." He looked back at her with an excited grin. "Time for even more exploring. " She swam into the darkness allowing it to swallow him up and the pathway led up. Before long his head popped up above water, and he looked around. It was too dark for his eyes though, not much light reached this part. He waited for 'Qua. Maybe she would be able to see. spookyx7 Aquamarine swam behind him and felt a small chill. It was darker here and she wasn't sure she liked. She popped her head after him. "Wow, it's so dark. Where are we, do you think?" [chainedfaye] Asrai shook his head uncertain. "I dunno. Too bad Alaera's not here, she could glow and light the whole place up." He chuckled. "We'll have to come back sometime with some sort of light. "
He searched about for her hand before grasping it to swim back down to where they were before. He couldn't see very well in that deep darkness and he was rather unnerved by it. Her presence was comforting. "Alright well your turn, where to now?" spookyx7 Aquamarine nodded, "Yeah, it's just too dark in here." She was glad it was though, for when he grabbed her hand she turned hot and red, but at least he couldn't see.
"Um...let's go this way." She picked the opposite direction this time and started to swim. This was was getting brighter and brighter than the other way. "It's getting brighter this way!" [chainedfaye] "Ok!" Asrai swam alongside of her as he still grasped her hand, keeping up easily. He wasn't quite ready to release her hand - after all who knew, they might still be in danger right? "Yeah, it is getting brighter. I wonder what's ahead?" spookyx7 Aquamarine shook her head, "I don't know. It's weird, we saw total darkness and now all this light." She swam farther and then poked her head out of the top. Aquamarine gasped as they were now outside and instead of rain is was sunny. "Whoa!" [chainedfaye] Asrai blinked rapidly, his eyes not used to such brightness after being in the dark for so long. "We're outside? But how did that happen? I wonder where we are now?" spookyx7 Aquamarine shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know." She smiled and looked around, "Maybe still in the mountains. Should we go back?" So far this was a pretty neat adventure. [chainedfaye] Asrai shrugged. "It's your choice. I would just like to remember the way back to that lake. It was so beautiful. I could almost imagine living there." He looked at her thoughtfully for a moment before continuing. "I guess the Rain has stopped. " spookyx7 Aquamarine's eyes widened..."I was thinking the same thing. Would make a really nice home..." She smiled and looked around at the sky, it looked like the water she was in, she couldn't fly, but swim and she loved it much more than she would flying. [chainedfaye] So she thought so too huh? He thought it was a perfect place. A great beautiful clear lake for them to swim in and a gigantic cave for when they wanted to stretch their legs. Heck they even had a back porch. What more could you ask for! "This is a really beautiful view. We must have been in there a lot longer then I thought, since it stopped raining already. And I dunno about you, but I'm a bit hungry." He stomach rumbled to illustrate his point. "Wanna see if I can teleport us to the HQ to get some food?" spookyx7 "Yeah, it's perfect. A nice secluded spot." She smiled, it would be nice to live here...
She nodded, "Yeah, I'm pretty hungry as well. Do you think you can get back here if we leave though?" She wouldn't want to forget how to get here. [chainedfaye] "Yeah, no problem." Asrai cast his eyes around, looking for a sharp stone. There were several nearby and walked over to one bending to pick it up. "I'll just etch a rune here on the rock wall and we'll be able to teleport here anytime we want to." The teen quickly moved to the wall and carefully carved a rune, committing it to memory as he did so. One small mistake next time they teleported and they could end up guardians knew where. spookyx7 Aquamarine watched his work and smiled, "You are awesome." She then giggled as the complement sounded rather odd. "So, do you know how to get to the HQ?" [chainedfaye] Asrai blushed slightly at the compliment. "Thanks! And yup, that was one of the first runes Alaera made me learn. Just in case I got accidentally teleported to some strange random place." He grinned sheepishly. "You know...not that I ever have though...." spookyx7 Aquamarine smiled, "You haven't? What about how we got here?" She giggled as she only teased him to be funny. She was happy he liked what his power was and could use it, she still didn't have a real clue. [chainedfaye] 'Rai blushed a little bit, flustered at the question. Putting his arm behind his head to ruffle his hair, he tried to cover up "Ahh well, you see I just inscribed the name of the mountain you know, so we could have ended up anywhere on the mountain. It was just by luck we came here." He smiled, his confidence back. "You must be my lucky charm 'Qua." spookyx7 "Me a lucky charm? I like that." She knew he was just covering, but she really liked the sound of that. "Ok, I think I'm ready to go." She loved spending time with Rai and never wanted to stop spending time with him. [chainedfaye] "Alright, well gimme a minute." He bent down and started drawing another rune on the ground. He could feel 'Qua's eyes on him and wanting to show off, he made it a bit fancier than he needed to.
"Already!" He announced a bit later and pulled her into his arms again to ready for the teleport. Asrai closed his eyes and whispered the magical enchantment to activate the portal and the moment he had, he knew something had gone wrong. 'Qua was being pulled out of his arms no matter how hard he tried to hold onto her and when he felt his feet connect with the ground again he opened his eyes looking frantically around only to discover to his surprise, he was home, not at headquarters.
The teen's eyes dropped down the run he was standing on and examined it closely. He groaned and threw his head back resisting the urge to slap himself on his head. In his effort to make it look fancy he'd crossed too many lines and accidentally changed "headquarters" to "home." As he was at his home, he hoped she was at hers as well. He wish he knew for certain that she was safe though. If only he knew where she lived!

June 25, 2007After raining for what felt like months, it's finally stopped. I don't normally mind the rain, it's very refreshing on my skin when I'm on land but the lake has been rather chaotic with all the extra water. It's risen quite high up onto the beach. Sally and Alaera are both worried about me staying under water right now and I have to admit they have a bit of a point. I'm so disappointed though, I've been worrying about 'Qua ever since we parted ways. I had been planning on searching the lake for her but this darn rain has made it impossible. And now rumors have come that someone's been seriously injured. Somehow I feel like 'Qua's safe though.

I've been thinking about 'Qua a lot lately. I miss her. I miss our adventures together and just spending time with one another. Sally and Alaera keep inventing ways to keep me away from the water for as long as they can when all I want` to do is find her. Even when I manage to sneak away it's never long enough to search the entire lake for her.
