The teapot continues to whistle merrily, vibrating as it does. The shiny reflection grows even clearer, although it's still hard to make out.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 07, 2004 6:29 am

It was actually shaking now ! Lena blinked several times and felt the little teapot trembling between her hands.

"What are you doing ?"

She said to the pot not really awaiting an answer. Trying to make out the strange reflections appearing on it's surface Lena held it even closer, but it didn't make any sense to her. Was it some kind of magic ?
The young woman was pretty confused and just frowned and stared at her little possession.

As she spoke to it, it stopped the noise and started to smoke. The smoke didn't have a smell, nor was it hot. But it poured out the tip, almost hiding the almost clear reflection...
PostPosted: Tue Dec 07, 2004 6:34 am

Lena screamed as she noticed the smoke and almost dropped the teapot. But her curiousity won and through the strange grey clouds she could see something on the pot's surface. A hand...?

The young woman looked around hesitating to call for Nobu or to put the pot away. It was like a movie...since when do teapots start to steam without a reason ? The young woman's hands trembled as she thought about opening it.

The smoke continues to pour out of the pot, filling the air and blinding Lena for a few moments as it keeps on filling the room. Then the teapot stops vibrating, the smoke stops pouring out and it slowly starts to clear in the room.

Through the smoke, a little boy sitting in front of her, staring up is now starting to become visable.

PostPosted: Tue Dec 07, 2004 6:49 am

Lena coughed and tried to see trough the dense smoke. Was this going to be some kind of horror story or a trick ?

As everything cleared up again she spotted some movement on the floor and almost fainted. A young boy was sitting there, holding a knife in his hands and looked up at the female human. "What the..."

Lena rubbed her eyes again while kneeling down to touch the child. He was wearing a red kind of shirt and black trousers, which looked very foreign to Lena. His hair seemed to be messy in an adorable way and his bright blue eyes examined her just like her green ones did to him.

"Why are you staring at me ?" The boy said in a firm and suspicious voice. Lena gasped for air trying to avoid to scream. She moved one of her hands towards his cheeks to feel if he was real. But she wasn't allowed to because the young one moved his head away.

"Sorry but...who are you !?" Lena said and sat down in front of him pretty confused.

"Ronin. You ?" He announced and nodded waiting for an answer.

"Nice to meet you Ronin. My name is Lena, so what are you doing here and where do you come from ?"

The boy just shrugged and played around with his sword again.

"Well, of course you can stay...if you want to." Lena made this offer without even thinking. She remembered the experiences she had made with Nalini and so perhaps this child was another strange circumstance. She had to find out...

This is called diary and the woman, who's called Lena, said it should write my thoughts down. Would make things easier...

My name is Ronin, for a single introduction and I don't know where I came from. Sounds strange, but you don't need to know more, book.

I'm currently sitting in my own room, which the Lena gave to me. I'm very confused and she asked me several questions, which I wasn't able to answer. As I already mentioned I don't know where I'm coming from, but the woman told me that I came out of the teapot she gave to me later on.

She seems to be caring and allowed me to call her mother, if I want to see her like that. I don't know yet, but she seems trustworthy. I have to observe her and the others further. The others are another child and two babies combined with a few pets.

I could manage to keep my little sword, although the Lena said it would be too dangerous. I have to do more research on my location and everything...confusing...very confusing...

The doorbell rang and the young woman put the baby onto Nobu's left before running towards the entrance to the appartment. She opened the it within a few seconds and a wide smile crossed her face as Lena saw Ray standing right in front of her.

"Ray !" She shouted and almost huggled him to death. "I missed you so much." Lena announced as a few tears made their way down her cheeks. The young man wiped them away gently and kissed her on the forehead. "Nice to see you as well."

He held a little box in front of him, which he offered to his beloved one now. It wiggled slightly and had some holes in it.

Nobu stared at the man curiously, while Ronin was just busy with staring at the ground deep in thought. Jessila sat on the Cathar's lap, while Nalini was playing on the ground with Gollum and the kittybomb beanie. They had a fight of course and the little dwarf made cute sounds as a background music.

"Awww, a present for me ?" Lena beamed a smile at Ray and opened the box. Inside lay a little blue creature, which looked at her new owner from down below. "Her race is called Cait Eibhilin. I thought you'd love to have a furry companion beside Minta."

"I'll call her Luca !" Lena announced gladly and kissed Ray, before she lead him towards the couch. "Kids, this is Ray. Nalini has already met him once, but to the others he's new." She introduced every single one to her partner, before sitting down and allowing everyone to take a peek inside the box. The little Cait had already fallen asleep again and so she just put her into a warm corner near the fireside.

Ronin said nothing and just stared at the new man, who was the first male human he had seen since coming out of the teapot. Nobu instead tried to keep Nalini from pulling at his tail rings, while Ray got hold of Jessila.

The baby with the beautiful hair just looked up with her green eyes and didn't make any expression. She seemed to examine the face of the man first, who tickled her gently before she giggled a bit. "You're pretty." Ray stated and smiled at Lena, who just nodded.

"So aren't you interested in decorating the Christmas Tree ?" Lena's loved one asked.
"What's a christmas tree ?" Nobu seemed confused and pushed Nalini aside gently, who started to crawl on the couch. She made some protesting sounds, but listened to the new voice. "It's a tree we decorate for the celebration of Christmas, a special event where the children get presents and everybody is happy." Lena tried to explain quickly as she saw the sparkling eyes of the children. "Oh presents sounds good !" Nobu added and waited for Ronin to confirm his answer with a nod.

[ A few hours later ]

"Doesn't it look beautiful ?!" Lena shouted as Ray put the little doll on the top of the tree.

"I'll switch the lights on !" Nobu called from behind the couch and pushed a little button to make everything glimmer and glitter. Indeed the tree looked astonishing, decorated with Japanese elements to suit the likings of the boys. Nalini and Jessila sat below the try playing with the lametta. While the dwarf just liked to pull it, the girl from the Realm got always scared when it stuck into her hair and she had to wear it. Probably much too sparkly for this case.

Only Ronin was sitting on the couch quietly making a serious but not unhappy expression. Ray noticed this quickly and toddled casually towards him to sit down and relax.

He said nothing and just watched the sparkling tree and the pretty decoration Lena had bought. Just the little figure was one of his accomplishments.

Making sure that nobody watched him Ronin leaned against the couch just like the stranger and looked at him with his blue eyes. "What are you doing here ?"

Ray turned his head towards the boy, who looked right into his eyes. "You know Ronin, somehow that's my home. Lena is here and Nalini,Jessila, Nobu and of course you are here."

Ronin shook his head and crossed the arms in front of his chest. "I haven't seen you before and Nobu hasn't as well. Why is just the Lena always here ?"

The young man tried to surpress a laughter and smiled instead. "A tiny part of me is a vampire, which isn't my fault. If I don't do something against it I won't be able to come back here. So I'm working somewhere else to find some kind of medicine to change this. But unfortunately I haven't found anything yet."

Ronin looked at the man again and nodded interested, seeming to be deep in thought. "Is it dangerous ?" His voice was full of interested.

"Sometimes, yes."

The young Simulacra smiled slightly and looked at the tree. "I like the doll !"

Lena instead tried to get the lametta out of Jessila's hair, who was screaming because of the strange stuff, while Nobu was carrying Nalini towards the aquarium.

"See Nalini, Tiscali has grown. Do you like the triangles ?" The baby pressed it's face against he glass and giggled as the seahorse moved closer. "aaali..." She said pointing at it again and again.

After finally making Jessila calm down, Lena held her close and she fell asleep quickly. The green eyes spotted Ronin and Ray talking and the young woman couldn't hide a bright smile. He could really be our son. They've got some similarities. She sat down beside them and all of them watched the tree.

"So where are the presents ?!" Nobu shouted causing the adults to laugh before explaining everything.

"What ? You put the presents below the tree and I'm not allowed to open them yet ? How unfair is it !" The Cathar shouted quite furious, waiting for Ronin to support him. The Simulacra kept quiet and watched Ray.

"Don't worry, Christmas will be here sooner that you expect."

Christmas is strange. People decorate dead trees and give each other presents.

But I have to say that I like this family better now. A man came, his name is Ray and he is nice. He's in love with Lena, so she can't be too bad. He told me about adventures and researches ! That was pretty interesting...

In the end Nobu, the cat-human, made a photograph. It shows Ray, Lena and me. The Lena put a frame around it and it's standing on the little table beside my bed. I like it...

Nobu is quite alright, but sometimes he's just too active, just like the babies. He's always friendly and doesn't think about his actions. BUT he has a great lightsaber and is a Jedi. Positive aspects, you see.

I also got another present. It's called a flute. I guess Ray chose the colours, because I really like them. Ronin is engraved as well.

You can put your mouth on one end and blow and it makes a nice sound. But if you close one of the small holes with your finger, it makes another sound. There are several holes and several sounds. It's interesting and a nice present.

Nobu and the babies got plushies and pets, Lena too. Ray said he'll write me in future so we won't lose contact.

Ronin was standing in front of the strange building, his hands nervously playing around with his little dagger as his eyes trailed around. "Thru...the...looking glass.." He pronounced it a little bit wrong, but was able to guess the meaning behind it.

This should be the shop he came from.

He had decided to come here earlier this morning as Nobu and Nalini had been running around screaming and playing. Gosh, they were terrible hyper. Ronin was almost sure that there had to be nice people around, probably more reasonable and less....nerve racking. He opened the door quietly and looked inside. "Hello ?"

It's far too cold to be flying far distances without the fear of having to crash land due to icy build-up on their wings. Tobias previously advised his.. well, he refused to refer to him as his son, but more of an annoyance of a friend.. of this matter before they'd left. Although he angrily agreed to comply, Elijah has his own plans.

It took a long wait and a bit of convincing, but Tobias managed to haggle his way into getting the car for the afternoon. Ensuring that they both bundled up appropriately - "You're being way too over protective.." was Elij's grudge-filled response to this - they arrive soon enough at the little shop (after getting lost only twice!)

Elijah didn't wait for the car to even be parked properly. He'd grown tired of blowing on the window and using his finger to draw patterns in the frost and fog. MUCH too long of a drive. It's SO much easier to fly! But noooo..

Eagerly, he bounds up the steps just in time to see the door fall closed as someone else enters in front of them.

"Nobody here." Ronin mumbled, while looking around curiously. Neat, not as good as he had expected, but quite alright.

In fact he had been very nervous the last minutes before he had entered. The Simulacra was probably not the best to communicate and he had never met anyone of his 'species' before.

A sigh of relief escaped his mouth as he noticed some movement outside the building.

Slush had been the only one who had managed to talk Zanna out of her 'hermit hut' as many of the family had taken to calling it. Well 'talk' wasn't exactly the best way to describe, it was more like 'forceful negotiations' that involved lots of kicking and screaming. Needless to say Slush was now not in the best of physical shape, however, the SM was very much proud of his accomplishment and despite several bruises and a limp, he was beaming.

The young Simulacra had no sign that anything happened to her, markless and donning the exact opposite attitude of Slush, an angry scowl of distaste. Her hair was up in a high, smooth ponytail and she had at least put on shoes because of the snow. Also, Slush had forced her into a coat of sorts, probably one of X's.

She didn't bother to look around at the two boys already in the shop, instead shoving her way by them to plop her disgruntled self onto the furthest couch in the room, away from Slush. The SM joyfully waved to the other two though, grinning wide. "Hallow you guys!"

Elijah bounds in through the door, already taking off his jacket to give his wings some room.

Giving Ronin a quick look, he gives him a smile. " 'Lo! I'm Elijah, what's your name? I dun think I've seen you before."

Behind him, his guardian emerges as well. He gives Elijah a strange look, probably one puzzled at why he'd wanted to leave so badly. I played, uh, decent music on the way..! Oy, I'll never get a hang of this caretaker stuff.. He shrugs off his jacket and hangs it up where he finds room, his wings stretching on their own at the release.

A flash of admiration mixed with jealousy covers Elijah's face at the sight of the bigger, stronger wings, but he quickly throws that aside. Facing Ronin, he waits, smiling, for a reply.

Tobias, who vaguely remembers Slush, waves a hello to the fellow SM. Finally, someone relatively his own age!

Alright...people...and they had said hello...

Ronin's mind was busy as he simply nodded a slight welcome, standing in the middle of the room looking silly. He blinked as he noticed Slush and the girl and then slowly, very slowly turned towards Elijah. Gosh, another hyper one ?

He sighed, trying to be a little bit less judging and tried to look at least a little bit happy. "Um...I'm Ronin, nice to meet you too. I was bought here, I think."

Another SM! Slush practically bounded over in excitement at the sight of another fifth stage. The only other fifthers that he knew were Isto and Mauli, the latter he didn't really want anything to do with after she got pregnant. He looked positively delighted as he finally reached Tobias, which didn't take long considering the excitement he had. "Hey! You're a Skullmonkey too! And a fifther! I'm Slush, Isto's husband." The last statement made him beam even wider at the simple thought of him. "Who are you?"

Bloody overly happy fairy boy. Zanna thought with a very visable glare towards the rather bright SM who had dragged her here. Her eyes silently watched the other two Simus talk, content to stay away at the moment.

He knew vaguly where he was going, or at least of the minimal directions chirigami had given him. After his meeting with Itsuki on the streets, Urahara had decided to go with his instincts and try to get information from the shop where their items had come from.

The soft clicks from his boots halted as he stopped in front of a building. His mismatched eyes narrowed slightly as he tilted his head to read the sign, "... looking glass..." He read aloud to no one in particular. This had to be it though. His lips curled to a frown as his hand lifted from its rest in his coat pocket to push open the door.

'hm...' he hummed to himself, standing by the door as it closed with a small bang. His hands resided in the pockets of his black coat, and his expression remained the same as his gaze settled to the center of the room to watch.

"S'alright, I was too," Elijah says with a toothy grin. Anything getting him out of the house makes the boy endlessly happy. "Nice to be meetin' you."

He eyes the disgruntled girl on the couch with cautious curiosity. What's there to be upset about when you've got freedom of going places? He turns back to Ronin. "Whatcha think is that girl's problem, anyway?" he asks in a quieter voice to ensure that she doesn't hear.

Tobias laughs quietly. "Slush, is it? I thought I recognized you. I'm Tobias.. I haven't seen many Skull Monkeys other than my sisters since, well, way back after my first world journey."

He takes a quick reflective moment before continuing to reply. "Isto's husband, you say? Seems like he must be doing well, then, also!"

Ronin was quite confused by Elijah's friendly behaviour, but guessed it was alright. Probably all Simulacra's were like this ?

But as his blue eyes settled down on the girl, without being ashamed of looking, he smiled. "I don't know, perhaps she was annoyed by her brother." The young one pointed at the SM, who seemed not less active than his own family members. Probably they exchange stupid sibling stories.

Ronin reminded himself of Lena's words to be nicer and so he tried to smile. So many people were difficult...

The door opened once more and her eyes shifted from the winged Simu who had just eyed her to the teen redhead who had just entered. Not like she was going to say hello anyways, if anyone wanted to take their chances with her, then they could do just that on their own. She wasn't going to bloody move when she didn't want to come here in the first place, so she gave the new teen an added scowl for better effects.

"Nice to meet you! You're name sounds familiar but I don't remember meeting you, maybe Sharkie... Um Isto mentioned you?" He must beamed when Tobias was not only friendly, but repeated the 'title' of marriage, it made him flush softly and grin wider. "Yep. We're both doing rather well... Though I wish we could somehow have kids..."

From what the redhead could see, the owners of the establishment were obviously not around, or at least didn't look to be. There were so many children about and barely any .. well, adults. But, then again, he had no idea who ran the shop in the first place.. though, most the the children were giving off the same feeling of being Simu, so.. he was lead back into a dead end. Ura let out a small sigh as let his back rest against thw wall behind him. Hopefully he'd find answers to the connection between him and Itsuki soon and hopefully it didn't mean something awful. Perhaps it was what the boy had thought, maybe he was suposed to teach him something.

His thoughts drifted away for a moment, however, when he felt eyes upon him. Ura turned his head in the direction of Zanna and her scowl. 'How sweet..' The teen mused to himself. His eyes closed andthe edges of his lips turned upward into a small. He wouldn't give her the pleasure of a response, all he'd do was lean a bit more into the wall behind him. Yes, exactly.

As Elijah left Ronin looked around and looked for the next best person to talk to. He decided on Zanna, who looked more reasonable than the older persons and the Skully Monkey.

His wooden shoes clagged as he moved towards the couch the girl was sitting on. "May I sit down ?"

The younger Simu chcukled low in her throat at the redhead's reaction, quirking a smile before shrugging off the annoying jacket and moving to stand up. She sensed that this Simu was darker than most of the others, almost like X when she let her temper or thirst take over. This definately intrigued her.

However, before she could make her way over, a young Simu clogged rather noisily over to her. Didn't he know anything about steathy walking so that he didn't sound like an elephant when he trounced around. Her eyes narrowed somewhat before she nodded, her smile disappearing. "I suppose."

Ronin grinned. He hadn't done this often and he usually just did it when somebody slipped over a banana in tv or if Nobu had lost one of his tail rings.

So the young one sat down and looked at the red haired teenager, who had caught the girl's attention. Being a little bit bored he pulled out his little dagger again and watched the light's reflexions. Beautiful...this thing was his best friend.

Ura's ears twitched at the sound of the little boy's geta clicked loudly upon the floor. His eyes opened out of irritation, to glare at the source and watched the two children interact in silence. Noticing eyes upon him once again, Urahara frowned slightly and continued to watch.

A small sigh escpaed him again, watching the boy from his wall. He blinked a bit, watching him take out a small knife. 'Huh..' He thought, trying to rationally make sense of why such a small and loud boy would have such a thing in his possession.

She simply raised her eyebrow at the grin and nodded slightly in response, eyes also falling down to the knife. X had weapons stowed away in her house supposedly, or so Devon had told her when he came out to visit her one day in her cubby. However, Zanna didn't need a weapon to manipulate and beat up boys, in fact she was oh so capable of doing that by herself. Like those slobs who had built her beloved cubby. Crying like babies because of a six year old.

Scoffing lightly at the boy with his knife, she returned her attention to the redhead, who had apparently been looking at the same thing just moments ago. If she could make full grown men do her bidings, maybe she could do the same to this one here. That would be fun.

Ronin looked at it shining, not noticing the scowl and the looks. He liked the knife and it was born with him that's all he knew. Lena had tried to get it away from him and even Ray didn't want him to keep it. But he had managed to store it below his pillow and had taken it with him before he sneaked out. He should have known it before, there was nobody even interested in playing with him.

Elijah slips back in, his mood slightly watered down. Okay, so no good news there. But there's still hope..! He glances quickly before resting eyes on his earlier target. A shiny dagger?

He drops down onto the remaining space on the couch. "What's up here, doin' anything interesting?" he asks in a forced politeness, more eager than anything.

Tobias shakes off his wings, the feathers separating and ruffling upon reentrance. He returns to the fellow Skull Monkey's side while the conversation is still fresh in his mind. "Sorry 'bout that. Isto and I weren't the closest of friends, but perhaps he has mentioned me before. After I got my wings, I never really was around much." He rubs at his long sleeved shirt, a reddish brown one with the familiar skull symbol printed on it near the middle.

"Thinking of kids, eh? I can say it certainly came as a surprise that I'd be the sole guardian of 'Lij over there, but you get the hang of them. When there're two parents, I bet it's probably easier to handle them. Parenthood has really cut off my travelling, but I guess in more ways than one it has grounded me a lot." Finding himself rambling, he cuts it short. "Good luck to the both of you, though. I wouldn't trade in the uh, experience for the world. Had no choice in the beginning, sure, but 's'worth it."

As Elijah sat down beside him Ronin tried to hide his shiny at first.

Alright, he's the only one who talked to me...

The Simu changed his mind quickly and decided to show it to the other boy, who seemed so excited about seeing it. "It's my dagger. It was born with me." Ronin explained and handed it to Elijah. "Be careful, it's terribly sharp and dangerous, not everyone is able to handle it."

Kami, peeking into the place with a curious look on her little chubby face, pink pigtails moving with her head as she chanced to walk into the place and toward the others. Smiling at them, her short blue chiffon dress rustling at her thighs, pinkish shoes making no sound on the carpet.

Ronin got nervous as he saw his dagger in Elijah's hands and panicked. What if people weren't as nice as they seemed ? "Sorry, I...have to go."
To many people around, definately. Lena would await him at home...

The young one grabbed his little knife and walked out of the door quickly.

"That right?" he asks, a little bewildered at the thought. Elijah wasn't born with anything special like a sharp little dagger. He handles it delicately as instructed, turning it over in his hands to examine the details more fully. "You gonna use it when you get old, or is it just to look nice?"

He doesn't always ask all the rest questions, but he assumes it's always better to ask and be denied than to never ask and lose out on the opportunity.

The door opened, and Aurora stepped into the shop quickly, brushing off snowflakes and shivering a little bit. "Stupid cold weather."

She didn't look behind her, tugging off the jacket as quickly as she could, and then the hat, and the gloves. All three were pushed onto a table, before Aurora turned around. And stared at the others. Some she knew, but some of them were new. And a boy walked past her with a dagger?

"Um, hi!" Aurora called, scratching her head.

I went towards the place, where I came from a few days ago. It was a big house inside the city and at first it was empty. But then more people appeared...a boy with wings, a taller boy, a monkey like talking thing, a purple girl, a pink girl and an orange haired tall creepy boy.

The one with the wings is called Elijah, he's hyper too, but ok. He was the only one who talked to me, so I gave him the dagger for a moment. People don't seem to like dagger, though. People don't seem to like me at all...

It's their fault, I thought they would be nicer than my siblings. But most of them weren't. The purple girl was just talking to the creepy one and seemed quite...un-nice ? I don't know, I'll stay in my room. It's much better, I think.

When I came back the Lena was worried and she called Ray. I could talk to him, he said I'm nice and people will like me. Perhaps it's because of my shoes that they are stupid ?

I use to play my flute now. I have learned new hole combinations, it's nice. Nobu had to learn a code, which was easy. He's a Jedi, that's cool, I like Jedis. We had fun...that's what you call it, right ?

I have to go now, Lena calls us for dinner. I will eat chicken. It has wings, but no feather anymore.

A child and a sword or how loneliness survives

I'm rather worried about Ronin lately. He's becoming a little bit too introverted and apathic for my likings. A young boy shouldn't sit inside his room the whole day and look out of the window and play his flute. I'm wondering if a ball or a game would have been a better Christmas present.

He's like this since he came back from the shop where he had met different Simulacra. He was crying nobody likes him and toddled off into his room. Nothing was able to cheer him up for days and Ronin just announced that all people are stupid.

Since Ronin came out of the teapot, he was more serious than all of my other children, but right now he seems to become depressive. Nobu tries all his best to make him smile once in a while and it seems like Ronin at least enjoys having company...for about five minutes.

But I'm most worried about his little dagger, he doesn't get rid of. He loves it like Nalini loves her Gollum plush, although she doesn't talk to it like Ronin does. He calls it 'Dagger', a friend you can rely on, I guess.

I'm steadily trying to make him go into the shop again and meet other people, so he knows not everybody is bad. Probably Ray is able to force him to do so. It's so important for him !

But I can't continue writing now, there's still a cake inside the oven to make Ronin feel better. At least he didn't stop eating.

Bri had made it farther into the shop this trip around, taking the steps up to the second floor one by one as she watched her daughter bound up the steps in leaps and bounds.

"I hope Yeste' is here.. or maybe Kami.." Kerryn said as she finally took her first step onto the surface of the second level floor. Eyes darting around, her smile fell. It was just her and Bri there.

Following her daughter up the stairs, Bri's eyes swept the room, coming to the same conclusion Kerryn did. "Maybe someone will show up soon for you to play with?" She hoped so, Kerryn spent too much time alone.

Indeed there was someone moving towards the high building. "I don't want to go !" The young boy shouted angrily and tried to push his mother away, who almost dragged him trough the doors.

"It's necessary, Ronin. Not everyone is bad." She sighed and as she didn't pay attention for one single minute the boy had disappeared quickly. His wooden shoes made clagging sounds on the strange stairs and his blue eyes stared at the people, who had already been on the 2nd floot, in shock.

"What are you...doing here ?!"

Bri looked over her shoulder at the boy, this was one for Kerryn to handle. Maybe she could make friends with him? Although, his current disposition might make it a little hard for her. Wandering off towards the kitchen to investigate the other rooms, Bri left Kerryn to talk to the boy.

Turning on her heel Kerryn turned to face Ronin. A sour look taking hold of her features when she noticed that it wasn't one of the people she was waiting for, although her head already knew that from the difference in the voice.

"I could ask you the same thing." She told him tartly, crossing her hands over her leather apron. "What're you doing here?" It was a bit of an absurb question considering she didn't exactly know where 'here' was other than up the stairs.

"I am..." The boy heard the sounds on the stairs and his mother's voice. Only one chance for surviving was given...hiding ! "Please don't say anything." He pleaded, which was unusual for him and dashed off to bury himself in the shadows behind the couch.

"Ronin ? Where are you ?" Lena shouted and was a little bit astonished as she noticed the unknown girl in front of her. "Sorry to disturb you." She smiled. "Have you seen a young boy, as tall as you ? In red Japanese clothing..."

Kerryn blinked at the flurry of events, looking over her shoulder as the boy ran off to hide behind the couch and then snapped her head quickly forward as Lena came up the stairs.

'Ronin.' She thought to herself, 'That's his name.'

"No." Kerryn told the woman with a smile, wanting to tell her, 'Yes, and he's hiding behind the couch.' but he asked her not to. Trying to adopt the illusion of thought, Kerryn looked around, "Are you sure he came up here..? I've been standing here the whole time, and no one was up here when I showed up." That part, at least, was true.

Ronin closed his eyes and stroked his dagger slowly, while he listened to the words. O please don't say anything...

She didn't. This seemed to be a pretty new feeling and he had almost left his hiding place to see a prove for what he had just heard. Perhaps she was...no, people are stupid.

Lena instead shrugged. "Thanks, I'm sure he went here. Probably somewhere..." She turned to one of the other rooms trying to find her naughty son.

Kerryn watched her go, making sure she was well out of sight before turning to face the couch with a raised eyebrow.

"Care to explain why I just lied for you?" She couldn't help but sound a little disgusted in herself, she just lied for a boy, and one that didn't even seem worth the effort. Walking over she flopped herself down on the couch, just incase he wanted to stay hidden, they could still talk like that.

The young Simulacra noticed the movement on the couch and was quite confident with his current position. "Thanks."

Ronin was polite after all, although some people didn't earn this effort. But this girl did, somehow.

"She's trying to get me in contact with other people...desperately. She doesn't understand that I already have a friend, since birth."

For a moment he was uncertain but slowly moved the shining dagger upwards so she could take a glance. "My name is Ronin and this is dagger."

Kerryn looked at the dagger before chuckling softly. "You to realize you are in contact with other people. I am an 'other person'." She looked around the room for a moment before commenting, "Nice dagger. I'm Kerryn."

She didn't know what to say to him, it wasn't exactly easy talking to someone you aren't supposed to know is there, and you can't see.

He had the intention to jump up and shout at the unknown girl, trying to tell her that he's not stupid and that he knows that he's talking.
But somehow Ronin just realized what she had meant and felt embarassed. Ouch, stupid sentence...

If he was already doing what Lena wanted, he could come out of his hiding place anyway. AND she had said that dagger was alright. Sounded...good ?

So he slowly revealed himself and moved his hand trough his brown unsteady hair, before sitting down on the couch far away from the girl. She had an interesting pendant. "What's this ?"

"What's what?" She asked him, she was far from a mindreader and she didn't want to have to put out the effort to make a stab in the dark about what he was speaking of.

She shifted on the couch to turn and face Ronin, who was at the opposite end of the couch, adjusting her belt and apron so they didn't bunch and become uncomfortable. She held the silence, green eyes flashing as she watched Ronin, not sure if she even wanted to have a conversation with him. He seemed ok, he had a dagger like Yeste'.. maybe he'd be ok, but he was a guy and that was already one strike against him.

Ronin blinked and called himself not precise enough for saying another sentence, which didn't fit. People were far too complicated and he felt the urge to run away, but Lena would find him and he had to be strong. The girl had saved him, his honour forbid the boy to go.

"Your..pedant." He pointed at it, without coming to close. "It's pretty. What is it for ?" Jewely without a purpose seemed senseless to him. Lena had this necklace from this shop...perhaps it was something like he was.

Kerryn registered the question, "Oh, it is the item I came from. Well, the key is anyways, Bri said before I showed up it didn't have a chain."

She thought about Yeste's dagger once more and asked, "Did you come from your dagger like Yeste' did?" The conversation was strained on her part, not having much to say to him, but he was better than sitting around by herself.

She didn't ask too much, which was good. He wasn't the great talker. As she lead the conversation to dagger he seemed to be content, but shook his head. "No, I came from a pale blue teapot with yellow flowers. It's in my room now."

His mind slowly worked as he recalled the informations she had just given. "Yeste has a dagger, too ? He has to be pretty cool !"

"Yeste' is female." Kerryn informed Ronin, "And she is going to let me join her training and teach me how to use a staff." Well, Sao was going to teaching them, but she didn't feel the need to include that.

A key.. A dagger.. A teapot. Hmm, it was amazing the objects they came from. She couldn't help but wonder what the next person she met would come fromt, or what Sarria or Kami came from. She didn't have a chance to ask them the last time she saw them.

"Oh."

It was one of those disappointed 'Oh's. A girl ? With a dagger ? This sounded very very unlikely, but he had to accept it. Right now he hadn't met any girls who seemed not stupid.

Indeed it was nice to hear that he wasn't the only one with a strange origin. So Ronin decided to feel not too disturbed. "Do you...have many friends here ?" His hands were playing with dagger and he had almost cut some cloth out of the couch, before he reminded himself that it wouldn't be nice to do so.

Kerryn's eyebrow raised again at the disappointed sounding sound Ronin made. As to the question about having many friends she shook her head, "No. Just Yeste'. She's the only one I'd consider a friend anyways."

A moment passed, and she was about to ask him 'What about you?' but her better judgement caught her. She already knew the answer. "I take it from the fact that your mom was trying to get you to interact with other people that you don't know many people or have many friends?" She winced slightly at how blunt her words sounded even to her own ears.

So they had the equal amount of friends. He had dagger...
As he listened to her words, Ronin felt a little bit strange because of two aspects. First of all nobody had called the Lena his mom before and second she seemed pretty intelligent and reasonable.

Ronin wanted to say something unfair too, but he sensed that she didn't mean it in a bad way. Not really. "Just..." Should he repeat himself by talker about dagger ?

"No. You're the first Simu I'm talking to beside Elijah and the...mom...said he's grown now. So no one I know." He shrugged.

"Elijah?" Kerryn questioned, "Thats a new name.." She murmured, storing it in the back of her mind with the rest of the names she had picked up through conversations with others.

"Simu?" She had never heard that word used in connection with her, and it was fairly obvious that she didn't know what he ment. Her vocabulary seemed to go downhill as she found herself asking one word questions.

"Lena said that's something like our lastname which means that we're all coming from items. It makes us...family ?" He pronounced the last word with disgust as his mother's voice disturbed the conversation.

"RONIN ! There you are, I told you to..." She blinked as she noticed what she had done and grinned. "I'm sorry darling, we need to go home now. It's late and your siblings are waiting for us."

The woman reached for her son's hand. "You're...ok." Ronin whispered and waved at Kerynn as they both left quickly. Lena had totally forgotten about Nobu, his brother, who still needed her help with some Jedi homework.

Kerryn waved to Ronin, "You're ok, too.. for a guy anyways." She told him as they left, lifting a hand in a wave.

"Bri?" Kerryn called, looking around for her. "I want to go now too."

"Alright." Bri called, from an unknown position, comming into the room moments later. "Come on." She smiled at her daughter and headed towards the stairs, heading down and out of the building with Kerryn in tow.

The teen had insisted on taking him with her as she explored the mansion. Lena was off somewhere else and took care of the other children, as Kyoko dragged Ronin trough the different rooms. Both of them hadn't dressed differently, although Lena had wanted them to do so.

"I don't like so many people." Ronin said and frowned slightly, as he looked at his new sister. Her blue fingernails were coming desperately close to his skin as she smiled. "Let's try to find the other ones like us."

Sarria had decided it would be fun to visit the ball and had just now arrived. Xannyia was behind her, examining the interior of the mansion closely. "All right...go have fun. If you need me come find me." The woman told Sarria as she left the Simu all by herself.

"Okay!" Sarria replied happily as she walked around. When she noticed two others that appeared to be Simu or closely related to; she walked over there and gave them a friendly smile. "Hello." She greeted them.

Kyoko turned around and made her eyes examine the new one scepticly for a moment before she smiled as well. Japanese clothes too...
"Hello. My name is Kyoko and this is my small brother Ronin."

She explained and Ronin just nodded looking around for the Kerryn girl, which was the only child he knew. Teenagers were boring.

Giving Ronin a smile, Sarria turned her attention back to the older one, "It's nice to meet you two. My name is Sarria." After introducing herself she grinned at the other girl's shirt. "I like, no love, your shirt!" She complimented. Afterall, red was her favorite color. "And your little outfit too." She smiled at Ronin once again.

Kyoko returned the favour while she sat down at the reserved table. "I like your outfit too. It seems like we're all having the same style."

Ronin refused to sit down and walked around the room looking for interesting people.

"I'm quite new to this world. I just...arrived a few days ago. Do you have someone who wants you to call her Mum too ?"

"Yes, it appears we do. And it's a good style." She grinned, "Oh, just a few days ago? That is new. I bet you're happy to be here." She assumed and then looked around a moment.

"Yep, that I do. In fact, that's her right over there." She pointed to Xannyia who was now in the process of tapping on one of the walls and taking a closer look at it. "She's a bit uh...obsessed with the color blue so not only is she probably having the time of her life...but she's probably trying to see what sort of material the walls are made out of...and estimating the cost." She stopped herself from rambling and shook her head some. "Where's your mom?"

Kyoko nodded and grinned. "Yes, we're pretty."
Her eyes followed Sarria's finger and looked at the woman. Indeed blue seemed to suit her likings. "Blue and red are nice colours." The teenager commented, while her eyes wandered back to her partner in conversation.

"Lena is off somewhere else with my other siblings. There are two girls and a fuzzy boy beside Ronin, which need her care. They are more of the active kind, while Ronin and I are calm. Although this doesn't mean we don't like to have fun. What do you think about this festivities ?"

Kami walks into the strange looking place but has nothing but a smile on her face as she walks around unsure of where she is. Wondering where the other's were, she adjusted the gauzy piece of fabric that she held around her more into her grasp so it wouldn't fall. The Simu was eager to see Ray again, orbs landing on him while he was coloring. "Can I color too, Ray?"

Pata grinned as she watched Kami walk over to him, it was all she ever talked about besides wanting to fly and asking her sometimes if fairytails were true and there really were fairies. Of course, she belived in anything so she always told Kami yes when she asked about that.

"Yes they are. Red is my favorite color." She stated, "Xannyia leaves most of her other children at home. Although she could have brought Nicolai, and the other one is already an adult who can care for himself."

After thinking about an answer to the question, "So far I like it. It's good to be able to see others of our kind. How about you? What do you think of it?"

Ray looked up at Kami, stunned yet again by the transformation of his former playmate. He nodded, his blue eyes wide, and held up a crayon and a piece of paper for her.

"I think it's much to crowded. You can't get your soul to rest. Nothing compared to the beauty of the nature, it's simply decorated too...much." Kyoko stated and watched a pink girl enter, who looked as she was in the same age. Sarria seemed very nice so she continued the conversation.

"I was actually looking forward to see people from our species. It's interesting to meet people in my age. I just met babies the last days..." She rolled her eyes and sighed.

"I've met only a few of the older Simu. Some of the older children that is...since I've grown up. I have seen Aurora however, and now you." She paused when she noticed Kami, recognizing her by the pink hair immediately. "She just grew up I think. Last time I saw her was when we were both little, which wasn't too long ago."

"Oooh, you like nature too? So do I, I love to mediate in the garden of the shop next to the pond. It's quite peaceful and relaxing."

Ronin instead focused on the other child being called Ray by the teenager and wandered over slowly, his hands and dagger behind his back. He sat down on the floor not far away looking at them colouring. "Um..." The young boy had never coloured before, because he had always retreated to do so. "I'm Ronin." He said very quietly.

"Well, she looks nice but...very pink. So you grew up?" Kyoko blinked and looked at herself for a moment. "I was always like this as far as I remember. That's strange...well, probably it's just normal. But what does it depend on ?"

She seemed confused for a moment but as the topic was changed she beamed at Sarria. "Ooo yes ! I like trees and all kind of nature. A healthy life is so important and it makes you calm and feel good. Lena doesn't understand me somehow..." This Sarria-girl seemed at least to get her point about nature. Perhaps they could become friends.

"Yeah, just a few days ago, maybe a week. Hmm, that is strange, but yeah, I'm sure it's normal. I've heard Xannyia telling me something about 'companions' whatever that might be. But they are like us."

"I haven't even tried to explain it to Xannyia. Although she does seem to like nature a bit as well. She's got a nice garden at her home where I also like to sit. Yes, being healthy is good, and having a clear mind." Sarria had already decided she liked this girl. She was the first one she had met that shared similiar views.

"Companion ?" Kyoko shoved the thought aside and connected her mind with different things now.

"A clear mind is definately very important. I see we understand each other in this point." The teenager smiled and looked around for some tea. Tea was a good drink to relax. "You have a garden ? Wow that's awesome. We're living deep inside the city. It's terrible, cars are everywhere and such. I would love to live on the countryside."

After exploring the rest of the mansion, Yeste' and Sao come to the tea room and see some other Simu and their Guardians gathered around at a table. They walk over casually to the table and take a seat next to eachother.
"Ello'..." Sao greets everyone as she sits down. Yeste' is silent, but she smiles lightly when she sees Sarria.

Sarria nodded, and she wished she could have told her what they are, but she had only heard the name used once or twice. "Yes, it's not a large garden. And nothing elaborate. In fact, not even a pond. A pond might be nice though, sometimes listening to water can help me mediate." She said with a nod. "The city? I don't think I could imagine living in a city like that. Although we live close enough to the city. Maybe you can come visit sometime? I can show you around, or we could meet in the Shoppe Garden too. Both are pretty."

When Sarria noticed Yeste' she returned the smile and motioned for her to come over so she could introduce her to Kyoko.

As Ronin didn't get a response he walked back to the table and looked at the new people. He was playing around with his dagger and hesitated to sit down beside the new girl. But the place beside his sister was already taken and so he had to. "Ronin." He mumbled and nodded, still playing around with dagger.

"There's a shop garden ? I haven't been to the shop yet, but I just have to see it." Kyoko answered and smiled. She imagined herself sitting beside a pond and listening to the water. "I would love to visit you. Thanks. We could talk about meditation and such. Do you have any other hobbies ?"

"Yeah there is. I visit it quite often. And I'm trying to get Xannyia to put in a pond similiar to the one there." Sarria nodded, "Yes, that would be fun." She had to pause though, to think about the other question. "Um...I'm not really sure. I'm sure I do, but I don't think I would consider them hobbies. I like reading a lot though if that counts. What about you?"

"I take care of Ronin...Lena said something like there will be classes in Yoga soon. I would really like to take this one. Have you heard of it as well ?"

Reading sounded interesting. She had ask Lena to buy some good books. Actually she needed pocket money to buy some.

Sarria's face suddenly lit up, "Yes! In fact, I might be teaching it. Or at least that's what I was told. Since that's what Xannyia heard or something along those lines. If I'm not I'll be sure to take it anyway." She ended with a nod.

"I'm lucky I guess, I don't end up having to babysit very often. But Ronin seems like a nice little guy." She glanced over in his direction and smiled, "Does he listen to you?"

"Yes, gladly he is. He never said a word against me and just listens. I don't know if this is good, but at least he doesn't annoy me.

I think I'll take the class if you're in there then. At least I'll know somebody." She smiled. "But I think we have to go now. Talk to you soon, alright ?" The teenager got up and waved to Ronin.

The boy quickly got up and followed Kyoko out to find Lena.

A lot of things happened the last days.

The Lena-mum forced me to go to the terrible shop, although she knew that all the other ones are stupid. But I met another girl, who is alright although she's a girl. Her name is Kerryn and she's coming from a key.

She didn't tell Lena where I was hiding, so she's a good person for this. I say, she's the only not stupid person at the shop, right now. Kerryn also talked about another girl, who has a dagger. I need to meet her and perhaps she's not stupid too.

And there came another not-stupid one, who lives with us now. She is my big sister and she is called Kyoko. Lena had this necklace from the shop I come from and I wanted to have it, because Ray gave it to her as a present. I bet it was a mistake, Ray wanted to give it to me ! Well, the Kyoko came out of it and is now living with us. She is nice and she has blue fingernails.

I went with her to a party for the country, but it was boring. Kyoko was just talking and the Kerryn wasn't there as well. So I guess I don't like parties.

But I won a ticket for a fairy trip. Lena was so happy as the ticket arrived today that she couldn't stop hugging me. Although she misses me, she said, she is glad that I will have a lot of fun. I should try to open up to people and get to know different Simus, the mum said. I don't know, but I've never seen the sea so it's alright.

Kyoko wants to help with my luggage, but she's not able to come with me. I have to say, I'm a bit afraid...well...no, of course not. I will be a traveller like Ray, right ? That's cool. Lena also bought me a book about knights yesterday. She says I could read it as a good-night story. Perhaps I'll do so.

You need to get into my luggage now, diary. Have fun.
