Entry 1: The Dagger Today I walked into this strange little hole-in-the-wall store that I passed by chance while I was shopping today. It just so happened that I was searching for a new dagger. My old one broke from over useage. So, I walked into this store and was browsing through the inventory, which was mostly just dusty old antiques, but I stumbled upon a very pretty dagger burried under some dainty red and black silk cloth. I usually wouldn't have purchased such an old dagger since they aren't as strong as they are when they are new, but something drew me to this dagger, I don't know what... I ended up buying the dagger and stuck it carefully in the wrist sheath I had on me. I stopped at another shop and for some reason decided to puchase this journal to write in, I don't know why I'd need too, but again something about the dagger drove me to it. I think I'll keep an eye on my precious dagger.

Sao yawned and placed her journal back on the empty space on the bookshelf, running her fingers over the many books that lay there dusty from years of non-usage. She stopped at one book imparticular, her new favorite that had, oddly enough, just shown up the morning before she bought her new dagger. She didn't question it though, she figured she had had it all along but just had never noticed it. She could be flighty like that. Sao pulled the book out of the shelf and blew on it, the dust falling off of it in sheets. She yawned again and walked out of her reading room and up the grand flight of stairs and turned into the long hallway where her room waited for her at the end. She closed her door and opened her glass balcony doors, pulled back the crimson curtains, and sat on her bed with her back proped up by the many black velvet pillows. It was a beautiful winter night. It wasn't too warm or to cold, and Sao pulled the red satin sheets and black velvet blanket over her legs and turned her lamp on. The lamp gave off a dim red glow that was bright enough to see by but not bright enough to hurt one's eyes if they were to look at it. She sat the book in her lap and untied the sheath from her wrist, then took the dagger out and sat it on her nightstand. Sao picked up the book from her lap and took the key from the binding and unlocked it, opening the book and flipping through the pages. The book's words were written in a language she did not understand, and the few pictures were of horrific battle scenes and terrifying demons. Though some of the demons were quite lovely and human looking, the things they were dipicted doing were.... not so lovely. Sao yawned after looking at the book for a while and gradually her eyes became heavy and she fought a losing battle to stay awake. She fell asleep, proped up against the pillows with the book opened on her lap and her new dagger resting beside her.

It doesn't seem to be long at all. That very night Sao goes to sleep, the dagger twitches beside her in the dim light. Then it stops.
Then it twitches again, almost falling off the nightstand. One more move... that looks almost like a jump... and the dagger's falls right into the book's open pages. Then it waits, waits for Sao to wake as it's trying to get her to do. A reflection, hazy but there, is shifting in and out of veiw in one part.

Sao mumbles in her sleep as the dagger shakes, then is awakened by the soft thud of it landing in her book. Sao gradually opened her eyes and rubbed the sleep from them. She looked out the window, it was still dark! Sao looked next to her at the nightstand and saw that the dagger was gone. "What the-?" Sao cut off when she saw the dagger sitting daintly on her book in her lap. She looked at it, curious as to how it got there. Sao saw the blurred reflection in the corner of the dagger and picked it up, turning it to see if the reflection was cast from something in her room, but the reflection did not move, only swirled a little. Sao was stunned, to much so to do anything but stare at her dagger.

The shadow seems to move sideways a bit, almost as if it's trying to see Sao closer... the dagger's handle trembling and jerking around.

Sao stared wide-eyed. The blur had moved on its own! She blinked a few times and looked again, seeing the same thing, the reflection moving around the edge of the dagger. She put it down and then picked it back up, very confused. Sao almost jumped when the dagger's handle began to shake and move her hand around.

The entire dagger suddlenly goes hot and black, the gem seeming to glow in the darkness surrounding it. Eyes briefly stare up, and then... they vanish.

Sao yelps and almost drops the dagger when it goes hot, but holds onto it, not wanting it to break. When the eyes appear, Sao stares back at them, breifly as they are there. Sao blinks when the eyes dissapear, and looks around the room for some explanation to what just happened.

Standing near the curtians stands a girl, a girl that's around ten years old. She's got her arms crossed, watching Sao with her two different colored eyes. Waiting to be seen...

Sao's eyes slowly scan the room, then they catch sight of the little girl standing there. Sao's jaw drops and she gapes like a fish out of the water. She slowly stands and walks over to the little girl, who's eyes follow her closely. Sao looks her up and down then walks around her a couple times. "Where-?" Sao pauses, knowing the answer to her question, she comes up with a better one. "Who are you?" The girl stares coldly at her, seeming to not want to talk. Sao stands erect and crosses her arms, putting on the same cold and calculating look as the girl. The girl takes this as a sign that Sao is a friend and decides to speak. "I am Yeste'." The girl states calmly in a silky smooth voice, more mature sounding than a ten year olds, but just as high pitched. "Well Yeste'. I suppose that you'll be staying with me correct? Since you did come from my dagger." The girl nodded. "Ok then, I suppose we should get you a room and get you settled in." Sao smiles at the girl then leads her out of her room after picking up the Book of Shadows and her now empty Dagger.

Sao led Yeste' down the long hallway and to a door across the hall from hers and near the stairs. She took a key from her pocket and unlocked the wooden door then handed Yeste' the key. "Here you go, you can have this room. If you don't like it you tell me and you can choose any room in the house. This one is just the second largest room." Yeste' took the key and peered into the room, grinning inside at what she saw. The room's walls were painted black and the floor was a dark mahogony. In the middle of the room was a large round rug with a crecent moon in the middle and the black background was littered with stars, like a night sky. Yeste looked at the large bed near the balcony doors with the rounded end. All of the wood in the room was of the same dark mahogony as the floor. There was a closet on the opposite wall of the bed, a desk next to the closet, a bookshelf on the wall next to the desk, a small corner table on the other side of the closet, and a chest on the wall farthest from the bed. The walls also had two long shelves and the rest were blank for hanging pictures. Yeste' nodded to herself, she liked this room. Sao stood behind her, smiling at the bright eyed look Yeste' had. "In the morning we'll go out and buy you some things to make this room not so empty. We'll also get you some more clothes. For now though, you should be getting to bed." Yeste' nodded and entered the room, closing the door behind her. She set the key to her room in one of the desk drawer then slipped out of her courset and tugged her boots off. Under her courset, beneith the clear silky undershirt, was a simple black cloth that wrapped itself around Yeste's chest. Yeste' took her gloves off and set all of her disgarded clothing on the desk; then she walked to the bed and layed on it, pulling the covers over herself, and fell asleep.

The sun rose, the light hitting Sao just right from the open balcony that it woke her up almost immediately. Sao sat up and hissed at the light and swatted irratably at it, then rubbed the sleep out of her eyes for the second time that day. She changed from her night clothes, which consisted of little more than a pair of loose black cotton pants and a matching tank-top, and into her bright red corset and black skirt. Sao closed her balcony doors and locked them then left her room, closing the door behind her. She walked quietly down the hallway and then came to Yeste's door. She rapped on it softly, not wanting to startle the girl. The door creaked open with a fully dressed Yeste' peering out from behind. "Come on downstairs, I'm going to fix breakfast and then we'll go shopping, ok?" Yeste' nodded and followed Sao as she made her way down the grand-twisting stair case. Sao lead Yeste' through a few more hallways in the grand manor and then finally came to the kitchen. The kitchen was gigantic, looking like it should be furnished with at least ten buisy cooks and five more idle ones. Sao stood by a counter and waited for Yeste' to stand next to her; when she did Sao picked her up and sat her on the counter. "You sit there whilst I make some brekfast. I won't be long." Sao walked over to a counter behind Yeste' were a nice sized radio was sitting, she turned it on and the kitchen was filled with the sweet sound of a pianist's fingers dancing gently and quickly over the keys. Yeste's interest was pricked by the song. She hummed along with it in tune for a while, messing up a few times because the song differed from what she thought it was going to do. After a while she spoke up. "What is this song called?" Sao turned around and peaked her head out from behind the frigerator door, as she had been searching for things to cook with. "That? Thats Mozart's Fur Elise. Beautiful song isn't it? You like it?" Yeste' nodded, she liked it very much. She continued humming with the song and swayed back and forth as Sao prepared a meal of bacon, waffles, and fried potatoes. She poured them both green tea and then started heading through a large swinging door. "Yeste' slide off there and follow me to the dining room." The dining room was twice if not three times as large as the kitchen and much more grand. The floors were of a brighter oak and a large part of the center of the floor was covered by a brilliantly designed rug of red and gold. The table that sat in the middle of the room stretched almost the whole length of the room and had a chair at one end, a chair at the other, and chairs lining both of the longest sides. The table was decorated with ready dining ware and at least ten table candlebras. Over the table hung a very large, very beautiful chandelere that was lit and shimmered with the light, casting tiny rainbows all over the walls and celing. Sao set the tray of food down at one end of the table and pulled the chair out for Yeste' to sit. Yeste' and Sao ate their food in silence, except for the faint sound of the radio still playing Fur Elise in the kitchen, but both of them were content to eat this way.

Sao and Yeste' left the manor and headed down the dirt path through the forest towards Durem. Yeste' walked quietly behind Sao, since she knew not where she was going. The two arrived in Durem and looked at the signs above store doors as they passed them. "You tell me if you see any stores you'd like to look in." Yeste' nodded and looked in the windows of many a store until she found one that had something interesting in it. Yeste' pushed through the door, the bell atop jingling at her entrance. She headed right over to a table that held a beautiful red and orange flute with a feather dangling from a string on the end. Yeste' picked it up and gave a blow to the air hole, producing a not at all pleasent sound from all the holes being blown at once. Yeste' winced and tried again, this time closing up some of the holes. She found a note that was familiar and began playing, by ear, Mozart's Fur Elise. Sao smiled at her when she was finished and purchased the flute for her. "So, I see you like music." Yeste' nodded as Sao entered a building full of little knick-knacks. Sao picked up a jar full of swirling purple gasses and a floating winged skull, a fancy wine cup, a strange red and black winged stone, a black rose, a paper plate folded over that had black swirls coming from it, a green and orange container full of poweder, a jar full of something that looked like blood, a statue of a cat perched on a skull, a little toy snake, and a pitchfork keychain. After she made her purchase Sao held the keychain out to Yeste'. "You can put all your keys on this so they don't get lost. All this stuff is for you to decorate your room with. Now then, lets continue shopping." Sao shooed Yeste' into a shop titled "PLUSHIES!" and told her to pick out a few. Yeste' browsed through the isles until she found a strange plush with button eyes, a tail, and a pair of antena. She picked it up and then continued searching. She found and bought a bunny that had shadowy whisps coming off it, a black bunny with wings of fire, a little black and red animal thing, two strange character plushes, and numerous little dragons. Yeste' and Sao traveled to another store with their arms loaded with bags. They came to a jewlery store and bought a pentagram necklace, a skull necklace and earrings, and a pair of flame necklaces and earrings. They went to the next store, the Black Smith. Yeste's eyes brightened when she saw the daggers and she picked out five new daggers for herself. Their last destination was the clothing store, where Sao helped Yeste' pick out a swim suit, some night clothes, formal clothes, ect. Sao and Yeste' took their purchases and returned to the mansion to decorate Yeste's room.

Yeste' woke up late in the middle of the night, she was restless... in a new home, not able to remember anything before she came out of the dagger... She felt lonely even though Sao was good company, she was more like a mum than a friend... Yeste' left her room and locked the door behind her, sticking the key, which was on the keychain, in her pocket. She creeped down the stairs and slid out the door. Yeste' walked though the woods that surrounded the manor; she stayed close though, as to not get lost. She had found a small pond near by, but stayed away from there, avoiding it at all costs. Yeste' insted found a quiet place in the forest where the trees had grown together to form a fort of some kind. Yeste' clamered up into one of the trees to sit and look through the openings in the branches and leaves at the night sky above. She sighed and tuned everything out as she grew deeper and deeper in thought. She was slowly closing her eyes when something landed on the branch above her. She looked up and saw the little creature that had landed there. "Hello there..." Yeste' slowly reached out to touch the little bat that hung there blinking at her. She pet its head with her finger and held out her hand. The bat crawled onto her hand and sat quietly. Yeste' smiled and put her other hand over the bat and jumped down from the branch. Yeste pet the little bat again and began walking towards home. She opened the door quietly and went to the kitchen to look for a container to keep her new pet in until she could tell Sao about it. Yeste' searched through the cabinets with one hand and held the bat with the other, making a racket while she did so. Sao, woken up by the clamor, went downstairs to see what was making the noises. She entered the kitchen and saw Yeste'. "Yeste', what are you doing up this late?" "Well... I've made a friend and he needs a place to sleep." Sao smiled and motioned for Yeste' to follow her. She led Yeste' to a closet and opened the door, finding a cage with a perch and a thick black cover that could hang from the celing, and a tiny collar with a skull on it. She handed the things to Yeste'. "Here, I'll hang the cage, you put the collar on.... whats his name?" "His name is Vanim." Sao smiled and walked upstairs with a hammer and hanging things, and hung the cage by some chains from Yeste's ceiling next to her bed. "Tomarow we'll get him some food and stuff.... now, go to bed, ok? Good night." Sao was out of Yeste's room and back asleep in hers quickly and Yeste' had put Vanim in his cage and gone to sleep as well.

Journal Entry 1:
Ok... Sao gave me a journal to write in when I learned to write, and 'surprise'! I already knew how... My handwritting and spelling was horrible for a while though, but I practiced! Now then.... The other night I snuck out of the house and went to a park to sit and think when this tall boy with red hair and one golden eye and one grey one popped out of the bushes or someplace... We talked for a while, about nothing really, but yeah. He gave me a weird feeling, like he's wearing a mask to hide something.... there were two feelings but they didn't really bother me... Yes, as one might notice, I'm brighter than others of my age. Incase anyone was thinking that a 10 year old child shouldn't be able to write so well. (but I'm not a normal 10 year old child, now am I?)
Sao and I have been lazying around the mannor, I've been playing with my pet bat and Sao has been teaching me how to properly use a dagger and she said that when I was older she'd teach me to use a whip!
