My dad never questioned it, and my mom jokes with me about it. XD My dad gave me a look when he saw a few pics I had printed out, and a few manga (japanese, this was before the first yaoi manga came out in english... wow I feel old) I had gotten off ebay, but he never questioned and I never told lol My mother, she watched Fake with me half-way and found it amusing XD

Am I the only one with parents who don't care?

I would purely love it if my parent's didn't care. i mean I have to raise my own money so I can buy books like "only the ring finger knows" and "Ourkingdom" afraid that they might find out. There was this one time I never had money and Only the ring finger Knows novel 3 was out and I had to get it. So I gave it to him. There was only like 7 pics in the novel but my dad flipped through it anyways and there it was....the kissing part where Kazuki and wataru kiss. I said nothing and he said nothing but closed the book. So I don't know what he thought. lol.. I'm afraid... maybe he knows. oh well at least he doesn't say anything hehe

i dont have a good story. but i got somthing

i was at an anime convention, and a girl did a YMCA parody but she said YAOI and had a bunch of funny lyrics to go along with it. alot of people were screaming and such and of coarse being the fangirl i am i was too cheering. the girl next to me whom i had made friends with earlier said she wanted a yaoi paddle. i told her i wanted on too. my dad apparently heard that. after when we were walking out, my dad asked "Whats Yaoi and why is there a paddle for it?" i just ignored him pretending i didnt hear ^^;

lol that's so super funny.. oh my gosh i was laughing off of my seat. hehe funny

Well I have a story, okay it was in my sophomore year in h.s. (senior now) and my friend told me about Fake and well i was interested cuz I was like a major hp slash fan and everything so i gave her the money to buy me it and i got it and everything. The next day I told my mom that my friend bought me a book (stupid I know! sweatdrop ) but anyways she asked me what it was and I told her it was a manga and that was about it, she wanted to see it but I told her it was in my locker and that was it....that was a close one though, so now I'm extra careful in my book purchases.

Uhh..no. XD
Then you seem to be the only other one. XD

Eh, my parents like, half don't mind XDMy dad hasn't really shown whether it's fine or not, one way or another, and my mom is fine with it (probably she got the idea after I was dressed as Deidara at an anime con dragging Gaara around on a leash XD). I don't think they know about the more x-rated stuff yet, but I'm careful so they've never had a clue ^^

The sad thing is if I had a daughter and found out she liked yaoi I would pick up her yaoi books to scare the hell out of her and actually flip through the pages and watch the look of horror on her face as I say..." so...my daughter likes gay anime porn..." then I'll smile, give the thumbs up and say " THATS MY GIRL blaugh blaugh blaugh "

It'll be the whole 'let's keep this a secret from your father' type thing...talk about a mother daughter bond. 3nodding

I often wonder about my parenting skills sweatdrop

One time, when I was still living at home, my stepmom came into my room and picked up my Gravitation manga. She opened it to one of the first pages, which had something with Shuichi sitting on Yuki's back yelling, "So this is what it's like to be on top!" I kind of snatched it away and made up some excuse about not liking anyone touching my manga. Later she ended up reading my LJ and finding out I was into yaoi anyway. I got a long lecture (damning Bible verses included), and was sent to a Christian counselor until I moved out of the house at 18.

Now, my sister knows, but she's fine with it. She even let me stash my yaoi stuff in her closet when our parents came to visit us at our apartment. And my new roommate is into yaoi, too, so it's no big deal for her. It's funny, really... I live in the Honors dorm on my college campus, and probably at least half the residents of this dorm are either into yaoi or are not at all bothered by it, including the two male residents (it's a co-ed dorm).

If you're parents busted out the bible, I wonder what mines would do. eek Well was in the living while reading that and I bust laughing on the part where you put "So this is what it's like to be on the top!" lol Well I was laughing and my mom and dad was watching tv in the living room so they were oddly looking at me. They wanted to see what I was laughing at on my comp so I kinda tried to X out the screen before my they get all nosy and read all your guys story. So i was successful. hehe. WEll anyways that was funny but the bible thing scared me. NOw I have to HIDE my yaoi good. I dont' want to go to Bible study or any counseling. wow I'm scared crying blaugh

Funny stories guys! XD
When I was in the sixth grade I was just starting out on fanfiction.net, and at that point I had only been reading DBZ stuff. So the computer was in the living room, and of course I hadn't really figured out the options choosing deal, so I was unknowingly reading an NC-17 rated story. Some time later FF.net went with a different rating system without the NC-17, but at that point it was still there. So my dad walks over and looks over my shoulder to see what I'm reading, see's all the bad language and the suggestive implications Trunks was spouting, and of course I had no idea what it all meant but my computer access was monitored from then on.
So last year when I started becoming interested in yaoi (in fact, it was exactly a year ago, give or take a few days) and at this point had a computer in my bedroom, I learned how to make it so he would never ever catch me by surprise again.
Thus, I took all the precautions. Making it so my search history would reset every time I exited aol, choosing creative names for the sites on my favorites list to look uninteresting, listening for movement. I became a pro at the latter, it came to a point where I can actually tell my dad's footsteps apart from my little sister's.
He did in fact take me by surprise one day, magically appearing over my shoulder while I was absorbed in my fanfiction, and it was at the worst possible spot, so I'm sitting there, frozen, not wanting to click it off because he'll demand I bring it back up, indecisive.
And then he asks me what I want for dinner.
I almost died. XD

XD My parents don't check my computer at all, they don't touch it unless I ask them to help me with something, or they need to borrow my printer for a moment (which happens maybe once every two yeras XD).

And I did the same thing, mastering listening for movement, but that was back when I just stayed up reading books all night. I also mastered walking while reading (I can get anywhere without looking away from my book, despite turns or obstacles ^^). Back then, I was terrified that my parents would hear my comp on at night. But now, I just know enough to leave the volume off, and that my air conditioner drowns out the sound of the computer's fan. And if I hear my parents' bed creaking, that means they're getting up, at which point I flick off the monitor, and run to my bed (I've also mastered getting to my bed with one step on the ground, so lightly you don't hear it, and the bed doesn't creak from the way I sorta roll onto it smoothly ^^).

Lol it's the same with me! Like, I still read fanfiction very late at night on weekends, and my dad doesn't like me being on after one in the morning, so I've become a pro at listening for noises. He always gets up at like 3 to get a drink for some reason, so when I hear footsteps downstairs I immediately turn my computer monitor off and crawl from my chair on to my bed, and it almost feels like I'm doing something awful with how I have to hide it XD it's ridiculous

Okay guys. The worst thing that ever happen....no my parent's didn't find my yaoi collection but someone worst than that. My 10 year old cousin did. Okay I leave my book collection in a type of wooden box that has a lock on it. Well it was laundry day and I just got the manga "Desire" Awwww :Fangirl squeal: I love that book but anyways. I had to get the laundry because my f'n cousin was bugging me (I live in a house where 5 of my cousin's family lives we rent so yea it's a big house with many little kids) Anyways I open my wooden box of books but i didn't lock it, kind of knowing that i will be back soon. but no my cousin was complaining of the small amount of clothes I put in the washer saying that i'm wasting water and blahh blahh blahh. Well it took a while for the lecture than......

I go in my room and my cousin's reading my revolution book. She was on the part where they were doing the deed and I snatched it away from her, kind of riping the page a little. I was pissed at that part but s**t. she was just staring at me for a while and than she stands up and goes... "I'm not finish reading."

I go "You can't read this stuff" than she goes "My sister let me read her books like that" I was in complete awe at what she said. But in the end I didn't give her the book because it was rated M so yea. damn I got to talk to my little cousin's older sister. I don't know if I should have let her read it but I guess not letting her read it was the best bet. blaugh
