"I'll...I'll sit with you until you do, then..." Autumn replied softly, suddenly feeling very motherly toward this girl. She resisted the urge to give her a hug, however, because not everybody liked to be touched....especially by her. A weak smile appeared on her face as Ati appeared, murmuring questioningly at the child and going to float just above her kneecaps. "Shh, Ati..." she scolded, not remembering that not everybody could see her hallucinated-friends.

"Thanks, I'd like that very much." She said. She looked over to the rest of the group who seemed to be frozen in time with conversation when she heard the woman next to her shush something. She looked around but saw nothing and seemed a little bit confused. Upon closing her eyes though, through slightly fuzzy vision, she saw those odd outlines again.
She purposefully Squinted her eyes and she saw them move. This made her jump and move away from them.. They were sitting right in front of her whatever they were. She, out of reflex, clasped to the bottles of pills in her pocket and looked at the woman slightly frightened.
"What are those things? I've never seen them before untill.." She was about to finish her sentence when she heard a siren off in the distence. A look of pure fear appeared on her face.
"I must hide, or they'll take me away again."

"What, Ati...? You can...see them?" Autumn asked incredulously, blinking at the girl. Ati, however, seemed delighted and shuffled through her, chuckling. Autumn laughed awkwardly too, until she saw the fear in the child's eyes. "Come on...they can't take you if you're in a church, I think. Sanctuary claims, or something..." And so she grabbed the girl's hand and hurried along to where she thought she'd seen a church earlier- nevermind that she didn't even know the little girl's name!

"I can only see the outlines of them if I squint really hard. What does this mean?" Before her question could be answered though, the woman had grabbed her wrist and started running off in a direction, leaving the other group of people behind.
The only thing she noticed, or really cared about, was the fact that the siren was trailing away in the other direction. They turned a street corner and there in front of them loomed a overbearing church with elaborate designing carved into the marble that had kept the structure standing for so long. Mildew clung around the bases of the gargoyles that hung over the edge, their gaping maws leering at any who enter.
Lexiel, out of the corner of her eye while running saw a girl bump into someone who was cleaning up near one of the road blocks that had kept the everyday people out of the path of the parade. She wished to go over and help her, but their destination was too close and she was still frightened by the sirens.
Her clothing and shoes, as tall as they were, only slowed her down to a point, but the hard part was when she had to climb the steps into the church. She felt that with every step she would wobble too far and fall to rip a hole into her brand new stockings. They made it up the stairs though and into the entry hall of the church.
Upon entering Lexiel leaned up against a wall to catch her breath. A few preists starred oddly at the two of them but then went on with lighting the candles inside the church.
She looked to the woman in curiosity wondering what they were to do now that they were here.

Autumn blushed as the priests stared, but forcefully made herself keep her attention on the little girl. Still clinging loosely to her wrist, Autumn let her to one of the pews in the back, and sat down. Ati, however, had decided to play ring-around-the-rosie at Lexiel's feet, and she was quick to shoo them away, with the vague thought that the child might trip- not, of course, that Ati was real, let alone solid.
"Now.." she whispered (for all churches made her whisper), "Who, exactly, are you hiding from? Since you can see Ati, you must...you must be taking medication from the Happy Home, right? I mean...may...maybenot, but that's been the case with those I've met so far."

Sitting in the pew, Lexiel finally breathing normally. She looked towards the woman in a confused manor, not having noticed her shooing away the invisible creatures near her platform shoes on their way to sit down.
"But I can't see them... or at least.. not fully. But yes.. I do take medicine,"she says placing a hand over her pocket lightly, hoping that the woman wouldn't have noticed how protective she was of her right pocket of her apron. "I haven't been taking it for very long though. Only about a week now.
"As for who is chasing me, its the police. Earlier today I ran away from the orphanage, and I'm quite positive that they are out searching for me. I only wanted to see the parade, but ended up getting shoved in a dark alleyway by the huge crowds and I couldn't see over anyone. I was going to attempt climbing up one of the buildings scaffolds, but I didn't want to ruin my brand new dress," She says stroking its ruffles happily.
"But I know that the two care takers won't see it as that. They'll just think I was trying to escape again. Even after I take this horrible medicine, they still think I'm the most rotten child on this earth and that nothing will cure me." She says becoming only slightly solemn. Shes been trying to suppress her feelings about it ever since she moved into the Orphanage, and even though she hadn't burst into tears like she would have done five years ago, its still pretty tough for her to handle.
"By the way, Whats your name? Mine is Lexiel." She said holding out a hand to shake.
