at least three times in a row while practicing, i have had to literally pull a matrix move in order to dodge the bell of a sousaphone player who kept marching in my direction. i'm lucky that i didn't crack my skull on it.

Hm... when it comes to broken bones and the such, the worse we've had was a sprained ankle by a freshman girl who wasn't marching right.
Last season, the band did a lot of fainting though. x.x
There was this one football game...By the end of the game, the 2 of the 3 flutes, a trumpet, and a clarinet had passed out from cold. The other flute[me] and the clarinets were shivering so hard, they couldn't breathe.
When we got to the band room, someone was so relieved they fainted.
Augh. x_x It was awful... because not only was just freakishly cold, the weather report was off by like 50trilliondegrees or something because normally we woulda worn our winter uniforms instead of the sweatsuits.

flute section only....that's the section with the most injuries...
one girl dislocates her shoulder one girl has a weak ankle, and gets overheated easily one girl says she has anemia but if she had it then she would have been passing out for the last two years we went outside and she got overheated...then her knee locks up on her...

This one time at band camp....
i was jazzrunning with my trumpet (backwards) to my set, fell, and my trumpet went flying. Luckily my friends have quick reflexes and caught my trumpet, but i plummeted to the ground and ended up bruising my tail bone. it hurt REALLY bad to sit and stand back up for about a month. but at least my trumpet went unharmed!

My sophomore year was kinda bad.
Last day of Band Camp, mere hours from our show [to show the parents what we'd accomplished] I was stepping over a chair during lunch. Yeah. And my knee cap popped out of place. No idea why, it just did. It was pathetic. But oh so painful. [I've had problems with that knee ever since].
My mom had to bring me to the doctor and I couldn't march for a couple weeks.
And while I was gone a freshman friend of mine fell backwards and broke her arm! And I missed it! I was so diappointed.

the last day of summer band camp my freshman year was AWFUL. my bd is obsessed with diamond cutters and all of the brass players were doing them. in my diamond was me (mellophone), two sousaphones, and a freshman trombone player who couldn't march for beans. somehow, both of the sousaphones managed to land on top of this tiny, freshman mellophone girl. i cried and both my section leaders and the assistant drum majors ran over to me.

gonk SO pretty much at band camp I was playing on the bell set and my section leader walked by and went to hit the instrument and instead hit my hand and broke my knuckle... I love Sam.

If I had a dollar for every time I accidentally bashed myself in the nose/lip/front teeth with my clarinet mouthpiece, I'd not have to worry about paying for college tuition. stare A really bad one was the morning after I'd had my braces tightened and my front teeth were sore, and I snapped my clarinet to horns up so fast I hit my front teeth and actually started bleeding eek Mmmm, blood-flavored reeds... xp
Another one was last year at the crosstown rivalry football game...it was over 100 degrees that night. Add about 30-40 degrees and you get what it was like in my uniform. As we were walking to the buses to go home, I started feeling dizzy and asked my section leader to hold my stuff, and about the same time I handed him my instrument and hat I passed out on the sidewalk. gonk

Me personally... (I march quads) I dropped out of a parade and got hauled off in an ambulance (they didn't belive i had TOO MUCH water) 2 years ago
last year I almost went to the hospital again, but didn't
this year, the DL was marching up and down this steep hill to get strong, we finished and were running segments with the band and i puked right on the side of the street. That was fun. smile
But that's about it... The drums make my thighs to numb sometimes but i usually get the feeling back after a couple hours. stressed

i've had pulled knee muscles, sprained ankles, bloodied knuckles, stab wounds (flags at my school are sharp), concussions, sunburn, and an extreme large tuba player+ tuba sit on me and he smelled all but pleasant

Let's see...
I've been hit by flying mallets of pretty much all persuasions... I was carrying the suspended cymbal, and it smacked me in the head... Our concert bass gave me a scar...I still don't know how it did that! My friend keeps accidentally smacking me with her flute...
Actually, more stuff happens to me out of band than in it...
Like the time I cut my knee on the floor. The floor's smooth here! Oh yeah, I remember something else...
All the mallet instruments have to run over my left foot at least once before the season is over...it's their hobby.

yea...since im the only girl my fellow drummers have a habit of picking me up...and i was on one guys back...then he leaned over and we both toppled on to the floor...he rolled to the right and i did a freaky gymnastics roll on the floor... mrgreen
the bad part was the skin came off my face in 2 places...i had to wear a bang for about 2 weeks to cover it up... crying
the worse part was cross country pictures AND a dance was that same nite..
the even worse part was it was hard to hide wen i ran cross country and the stupid wind kept blowin my bang off so....yea

Both of my knees are permantatly sprained from a ritard doctor.
But that's not from marching band.
See, because of my knees, I have a bad hip, so I tripped one day in mb. AND MY MOUTHPIECE BROKE. The dern thing was like, thirty bucks, and the reed was about 2-3 bucks.
