Christophers

Christophers laughed a little bit.

"Remind me to thank you later for the smile."

Christophers made a swiping motion, and the windows and runes disappeared.

"Entente' station keeping please."

L'Ange felt the large ship rumble in response, and it stopped. Christphers turned and looked at L'Ange again, and the smile was a bit bigger. With that he looked up and in an instant he shot high into the air. Christophers flew past and forward of his ship and into the forest.

Into the foilage he disappeared, as L'Ange lost track of him, and what happened next, L'Ange could not be certain, but a few minutes later, L'Ange was startled when she heard Christophers voice from behind.

"I teleported him to another forest that I knew of, there was no reason to kill the beast. So..... Instead of the castle for dinner? How about dinner here? My chef does set an amazing table."

The bear was teleported elsewhere. It appeared in mid air, then fell... Into a lake and was never to be seen ever again.

Meanwhile, Christophers had asked L'Ange to dine with him on the Entente. She accepted and asked

"Are we going to be eating outside, or inside of the Entente?" As if hinting that he should bring her inside

Christophers laughed a little bit. His manners had not been up to par as per usual, but then it could not be helped. One he had just had a bad encounter with one person, and secondly he hardly knew L'Ange.

"My Lady, I do apologize for my manners. We will be eating inside of the Entente'."

Christophers lept into the area that had been breached to the deck below, then outstretched his arms to assist L'Ange.

L'Ange saw Christophers outstretch him arm, as if wanting to help her down. She only said

"Thank you"

But without warning she jumped onto his back, as if she wanted a piggyback ride. Christophers was left clueless as L'Ange got off his back.

"Sorry, I just had to do that..."

Christophers was left speechless. Why a Lady like her would do such a thing, he though.

"There are just something’s in life you just have to do."

Christophers shook it off, and merely turned to look at her.

"Well... I will have to take your word for it, but next time.... I get to jump on your back."

Christophers led the Ranger Lord down the corridores. The Corridores were very clean. The floors seemed to be made of Marble, and within semi prececious stones creating mosaics. The walls swept up high, and the support frames were stylized to represent fantastic creatures in mural like etchings upon its serfaces. Randomly placed were pieces of art work of different calibers and different artists. L'Ange recognized the elven works, but as she had discerned other pieces were present. There were even some statues at key locations, but much to L'Anges surprise she soon found out that the statues animated as they were golems.

Crewman walked up and down the halls. All of them which looked very healthy, and for the most part were human. As each would pass Christophers, they did a salute to him out of loyalty and respect for his rank. There was no deviations to look about the other doors that L'Ange noted, but they soon came to one that was under guard by two golems. The stood in front of the door, but as soon as Christophers was standing in front of them, they parted to allow him access.

"These are my quarters and study. I thought we could stop here and refresh ourselves, and relax as my chef prepares our meal. Is that alright with you?"

L'Ange could tell that Christophers was a gentleman as he had not crossed the threshhold to his quarters. It had appeared he had manners, and did not want her thinking that he had any alterior motives.

L'Ange quickly replied,

"Yes, it is."

She started walking to one of the two Golems that stood outside of Christophers chambers. Christophers came closer to the Golem as well. She carefully looked at them and decided to trace her fingers along the definitions of the Golems, her hand stopped at the side of his nose, she wondered what would happen if she were to put a bit of pressure on it...

CRACK

"Oops, I’m so sorry!"

The nose had been pushed too hard and broke. But the funniest thing in all of this is the fact that, when the nose fell off, it hit Christophers now sporting a huge red mark and a big lump in the middle of his forehead. Christophers was well, clueless as to what he should say, stuck in his mind, he imagined what he would do to L'Ange...

Christophers looked at the stone piece on the floor, but seemed to disregard it for a moment, and merely stepped to indicate to enter. Though before L'Ange could take a step in, she noted the nose was back on the Golems face as though nothing had happened.

HIs quarters were quite large. The walls within for the most part covered by either book cases, or pieces of artwork. Through out the room was equisite pieces of furniture. Intermixed was also the occasional statue, but this time it was regular variety. Towards the back of the room was a large open bayed windows. Nearest was a very large desk of black stone. Upon it was a variety of small statuettes and other paraphenalia.

Christophers allowed L'Ange in first, but after that he went to a book case, and depressed some button or lever for it swung upon, and a bar stretched out.

"Please make yourself comfortable, can I get you a drink? I have a very fine vintage of Elven Nectar Wine, if that might interest you."

As L'Ange continued in, she noted three remarkable paintings. The detail upon them was beyond par to anything she had seen before. She was no artist, but still she could see that they would fetch a fine piece of gold. Two were of women, but the other was of some armored individual. The armor though was not like anything she had seen before, for it lacked certain aspects found on most armors, and its design was also form fitting in appearance.

L'Ange stood there, looking at every detail in the picture

"Yes, that would sound good"

As Christophers reached for the Elven Wine, L'Ange kept on looking at the pictures. She wondered who they were, perhaps relatives? Old friends? Who knew? Obviously Christophers would know. She sat down on a stool and asked him who they were. He then handed her a glass filled with Wine. She accepted it.

As L'Ange sipped at the wine, she found the taste to be very satisfactory. Its flavor clearly indicated that the vintage was very old.

"The woman in the armor was my former apprentice and first officer aboard this... Ship. Her name was Anitram Neebor....."

Christophers seemed hesitant as he spoke of this person. He seemed to clear his throat a couple of times which indicated that she was of some significance to him, more than just what he said.

"She.... Died some two hundred and fourteen years ago...."

Christophers then pulled out a pitcher of water, it was crystal clear. Where he poured himself a glass.

"The dark skinned woman was another apprentice. Shyntaera Val'Shiphindar. Drow descent, and well, we didn't know her true name at first. I found her during my adventuring days in Underdark. Nasty place I wouldn't recommend going there. Anyway, when I found her she was but a babe, and I... Well I couldn't just leave her there, so I raised her. Eventually after reaching 327 years old, she left me.... Wanted to find her birthright in Underdark..... From what I heard... She was killed. I used to pretend I was her real father...."

There was a long pause again.

"The last picture is a painting of me in my armor. Well when I used to wear armor."

Christophers sipped at his water, then looked up at L'Ange and she could see some pain in his eyes.

"So.... Why don't you tell me about yourself?"

"There isn’t much to tell about myself, basically I was abandoned by my parents around the age of 6 and ran away to this forest, which the Treants had taken me in and raised me. During these years I have been training as a ranger and a fighter."

She said this while taking another sip at her wine and looking around at the room they were in.

"So, these former apprentices of yours, I can see they meant a lot to you, anything else you can tell me about them?"

At this, L'Ange could see sadness in Christophers eyes.

"Don't answer if you aren’t comfortable.
