Mintz`
Miss Tanpopo
"Oh really, is that how you spell it?" Tanpopo mused. It was quite conveniant that she and Mintz were each writing down their commentary on a little blackboard that sat above the fireplace. Who could say all family traditions were bad? Now she had learned a new word. "Uhm, yeah, I got tired of Cali so I got emancipated (She accented this word to show she now was +1 smarter, and continued with her speech) and moved across the ocean. 'SSss way better than the whole "parents" deal, y'know? So glad they're not coming." Getting the sense that Mintz was attempting to exit the house and get away from this conversation, she abruptly stopped in the middle of explaining her hatred of the word "valley girl", and walked into the kitchen. Screw everything, she would spend this break eating turkey and avoiding family.
Mintz watched Tanpopo leave with a quizzical smirk on his face. He kept looking after her, wondering why she had voluntarily left his presence, until Double tapped him on the shoulder. He pointed towards the chalkboard where he had written in almost perfect script "She's nto stupid. She knows you dont care"
"Ooooh!" Explained Mintz. "But if im not on her good side how will we be able to use her t--" he was cut off when Double abruptly slapped his hand over his brothers mouth. "dont say that out loud" Double hissed.
"Right, right" Mintz mumbled. He turned around and walked into the kitchen sitting down across the table from Tanpopo. Double took the seat next to him.
"So, Tanpopo...your family isnt coming? They always come! Why are they staying away this year?" Mintz asked, trying his hardest to act like he cared.

Surprised but not unsuspicious at the sudden interest in what she had to say, Tanpopo grumbled, "Well, my mom's side of the family might come. Y'know, a few aunts, an uncle or two, maybe a cousin. My parents would come, but we always fight. I think they will if I promise not to 'drop' any important bank statements down the garbage disposal, but I still have to call. Anywayyyyyy..." Tanpopo warily glanced from Double to Mintz, and back to Double, "Why do you two care? We have barely seen each other for close to 8 years? Well, if you want to be friends again, that's all good and well, but I'm off to get some sleep, later." Tanpopo quickly pushed her stool back from the kitchen counter, nearly toppling over onto the canned tomatoes, and marched up the stairs to the top floor. It had been so long since she had last been to this place. She remembered it like it was a long time ago, it had been her first trip to the east coast, when she was eight. She didn't particularly like this part of the country, or this house for that matter. But it would have to do, she was practically destitute in England, with all the school expenses. Tanpopo was looking forward to leeching off her dad's family's wealth. She had never really known Mintz and Double's parents, or wanted to, but this seemed like as good a time as any to get a acquainted.
Full of exhaustion, Tanpopo flopped back on the creaky wooden bed, nearly poking out some unknown relative's eye.
"Oooopsie, didn't know there was already someone here..." she whispered, quickly grabbing her bag and dashing across the hall to collapse on another (perhaps empty this time) bed.
