rubbermuleaccount Moocat - I'm really lucky as far as friends go. All of my friends that "KNOW" have never treated me any differently ^__^. They know I'm not interested in them; for that matter, they'll still try to grope me sometimes because it makes me squeal with discomfort. xd I'm sorry yours are like that. <__> ..Maybe you need new friends! biggrin -sigh- I definately need new friends. But I don't think I'll find any until highschool which is still half a year away. Even then, I'll probably be just more alone.. That is, if I make it to highschool.

My parents were pretty good about it. I mean, my dad hardly reacted.
Me: Mom...Dad...I'm bi. Dad: Good for you. *goes back to reading*
He's great like that. As long as I don't say that i'm a psycho rapist murdering whore he's cool with most anything. We talk about my religion and sexuality all the time. However my mom...well
Mom: Are you sure? Me: Yeah... Mom: Have you acted on these feelings? Me: MOM! No. (in my head: yes mom, now that i'm bi i'm ******** everyone.) Mom: I realise that sexuality is confusing at your age blahblahblah
And now she doesn't seem very comfortable talking about it with me. Like...when I told her I wanted to be a transexual movie character for halloween and that I wanted to do start a GSA and most anything else pro-gay she doesn't seem to happy about it. But she hasn't tried to change me so it's all good. As for my friends about 70% of them told me that they figured I was bi. The other 30% either seemed awkward about it or else said that my sexuality had nothing to do with what we were talking about.
@ Moocat: I'm sure things will get better. *hugs* You'll get into highschool and as for friends: if I had come out before highschool the friends I had then never would have accepted me. But the friends I have now are great! Plus, you have all of us.

Moocat- This may sound a bit stereotypical but try to hang out with rockers. They seem to have a more open mind about the subject and a lot of them identify thmselves as bi or gay or lez or anything else under the LGBT community.

The only kinds of groups we have at school are... The preppy girls. The semi Preppy girls. The asian table. ( X-x; It's true. ) All the little groups of guys. And the outcasts. ( Us.)

The rockers and the "goths." If you see anyone dressed in black/chains/collars, head towards 'em, because I've never met a conservative goth. Half of them ARE bisexual/gay rofl . Anyway, talk about "not making it to highschool" and such is ridiculous - you'll be fine, I promise. Pretty much ALL of us have had our "I hate life" phases, been through suicidal tendencies, visited psychiatrists and such (*raises hand*) - it goes away and life goes on as normal.
As for the girlfriend, it sounds a lot like my best-friend-of-two-years-whom-I-was-madly-in-love-with-and-whom-I-now-cannot-stand. She was definitely one to play with others' emotions; long, long story. I think that for the most part, she just enjoyed feeling like she was in control. I'd personally advise you to stay the hell away from people like that, but whatever, you can do what you want - either things will work out between you two or you'll learn your lesson on your own like I did. Teenagers usually won't take advice - they have just got to make their own damn mistakes, learn the hard way. I know, I am one. blaugh
Anyway, high school is way better than middle school, and people are generally more accepting (because their brains have matured and they're smarter. xd ) Most kids in middle school don't even really know their own sexualities, much less understand others'. Half of the girls in middle school I knew who were all "I'm straight, I'm straight! Ew, lesbians!" have actually gotten crushes on girls since and/or either identify as bi or lesbians themselves. *shrug*
Vampire - Lucky. xd I like your dad.
Twack - I'm sorry you have to deal with people like that. T_______T Sucks.

rubbermuleaccount So, yesterday my mother said that gay marriage should be outlawed not only because it's "against the Bible" but because ALL GAY MEN RAPE LITTLE BOYS. An excerpt from our conversation: mom: "I mean, some gays might get married and buy a house together.." me: "Exactly, and how is that hurting you?" mom: "It's not hurting me, but it's hurting the poor little children that live next door!" Discuss. Opinions. Etc. stare Sorry for saying this late and all (i was gonna reply on the 25th, but i got distracted ><) but anyways, things like this really piss me off. I have many friends who are gay or bi, and yet I trust them more then some of my other friends who are straight... And I'm straight, lol. I just don't get why people will always make stuff up and ridicule people or things that are different from a normal drab routine. Being gay makes you different yes, but its a damn lot better than some people who are just going along with the flow of things. As was mentioned earlier, its not like its only gay men that rape boys (and other people). They are usually just the ones that the media picks up on because its what people want to hear. I am fed up with todays media. I don't care what people say they are. "rightwing" "leftwing" its all bull--- to me, and partly because of how they control many peoples thoughts. This is one thing that the media controls. It makes people think that all men who rape people are gay, or all celebrities are better than us, or...the list goes on forever. Anyways, I am getting off topic here. All I wanted to say is that I would REALLY like people who say stupid things to stop and think for themselves for once, and drift away from the norm for once in their lives. Hows that for a first post? o.o

Like Bakatulip said, it's the availability heuristic. People pick up on what the media says, no matter what. What you see is what you get. And on the subject of psychology; most rapists are fundamentally "screwed up". I use the term "screwed up" loosely, because rape is pretty much a fetish. Not that I'm approving of it, because I'm not (It's NOT a pleasurable experience), but, like bondage, it turns certain people on.
Also, rape has been around as long as there have been people (...that sentence sounds strange...). Early males didn't give a flying fig about what the females wanted, so they just did 'em. That was how most of the cavemen precreated (at least, that's what my history teacher taught us). There is no "(certain group/orientation/affiliation) is more likely to rape (whoever) than anyone else". It's the person, THEIR mind, THEIR fetish, THEIR fault, not the group as a whole. If it was, and they punished that group, then there wouldn't be any humans left. At least one member of every gender, every religious affiliation, conglomerate, or government organization has raped someone, be it little boy, little girl, or any age of any gender. It is an undeniable fact that rape exists, and there isn't anything we can really do. It's up to each and every individual to change.
sweatdrop Heh, sorry, that was pretty melodramatic, but what the heck?
