I personally think it's just writers' goof-ups. In "Go", in order for Starfire to speak English she kisses Robin, yet in "Betrothed" it seems like all the Tamarans can speak English already.
Also, in "Go", Beast Boy mentions that he came from the Doom Patrol like 2 times yet in "Home Coming", the Titans don't seem to know that he was on the DP team.
