|+| Sat Oct 08, 2005 6:33 pm | Shaman and Seer Roll Results

The process to decide what wolf is going to get this is a long and drawn out one, otherwise I'd provide screen shots. @_x Basically, it involves at least 4 dice rolls of varying requirements.

All wolves currently existing went through the process (except those that have already been put through).

The wolves that have the potential for Seer are:
Solaris - VERY high potential
Rune - Low potential

The wolves that have the potential for Shaman are:
Fute - High potential
Ran - VERY high potential
Gyani - Average potential
Momo - Average potential

Those with a listing of VERY high potential will require less RP to achieve the ranking (but they WILL have to RP). High potential wolves will require a little more RPing than VERY high potential wolves. Average and low potential wolves will require much more RPing before they can achieve their new ranking. (Jade decides when the requirement is filled).

It is suggested that all wolves to become a seer/shaman undergo a quest of sorts to fulfill their RP requirement...the quest is up to you, but it should somehow relate to them understanding what they are becoming somehow. Jade will be moderating all of your progress. These RPs should occur in the guild and can include other wolves if you wish.

If you do not want your wolf changing to a seer/shaman, please let us know. Failure to begin working on ascending to the new ranking within a month's time (without a good reason) will result in the potential fading and your wolf will be unable to change rank.

Any questions should be PMed.

Rune had grown quite a bit in the past weeks, from the quiet and reserved pup into a slender and rather handsome adolecent. He was quite fond of his size- not being so large as to stand out but not nearly small enough to be mistaken for something helpless. His legs were much longer which made walking about on patrol less of a bother. Now able to see well over the long grass he took it upon himself to keep an eye out on the pack' rear and flanks. With their alpha having been attacked they surely couldn't be too careful.

He had always seemed to enjoy keeping to himself, speaking only when spoken to -unless the situation called for him to do otherwise- and speaking as little as he could but not without curtosy and pride. In recent days, however, it seemed like he desired his solitude a bit more, looking distant whenever he was alone and sometimes seeming a bit more on-edge than was normal...even considering the recent events.

He couldn't quite explain it... but he could hear voices. Not clear voices and very far from something he could understand. It was very much like hissing echos from a very great distance, almost quiet enough to hardly be of notice save for hours when he longed for rest. During the night he'd stirr with a loud huff, looking about sharply. From then he'd take his leave from where the pack slept and sit out and stare for hours- expecting to somehow find the source. It was apparent that it was just him. No one else seemed hardly phased by it.

It happened mainly when something else was out there- owls, crows, even their human pets. Those strange sounds as if from a distance, whispering, hissing, and taunting at the runed wolf.

Presently he stood by the lake, stiffly and quietly looking out as the sun slowly began to sink from her throne in the sky. Taking a deep breath he lowered his eyes to his rippling reflection.

Nikui
He was proud of the growing pack. Despite the lack of wolf power, they made up for it with strength and intelligence...as well as human power, which was quite useful. He sat himself up, and would glance around the darkness--it was nearly morning, but...why was Rune up? He glanced in the direction of the adolescent, and canted his head slightly..narrowing his eyes.

Shifting gingerly away from his mate, and stepping over Nile...he glanced in the direction the humans were, then continued. They still had yet to find a good denning site--but the humans seemed to have found a good area to build their large tree-built buildings.

Approaching Rune, he would move to sit himself easily onto his haunches beside the pup. "Why aren't you sleeping?"

Rune's ear turned towards the sound of the stirring wolf, his head turning just enough for him to watch the massive wolf approach from the corner of his eye. Giving a respectful nod he sat himself down as Gaara did- it was only appropreate to do so. Gaara was alpha afterall, in his pack it had been rude to stand if the alpha did otherwise.

"I could not sleep." He said quitely, turning his eyes back to the lake. "I am sorry if I woke you, I'll have to remember to step lightly next time."

Nikui
"You didn't," it was true--he had woken up on his own accord, and noticed that Rune was gone, was all. He would turn his head to face the younger wolf, and give a smirk--obviously he wasn't angry at all for being up this early. The silence and the chilled air felt nice.

"Why couldn't you sleep?" He questioned, and flicked his ears forward, canting his head curiously.

Rune was silent for a time after his alpha's inquiry, the only real change in him was a slight shifting from one pay to the other and a vary faint wince of his muzzle. How to explain something that he himself couldn't begin to understand to his alpha. The voices, the strange feelings, even the itching nag in the back of his mind. He couldn't even begin to find the words to describe it all... his alpha had asked for an answer, and it was his duity to fulfil anything and everything asked of him.

Taking a deep breath, the wolf began picking through words carefully, "In... recent days I have heard other things. Whispers... I cannot understand them. I hear a voice as if on the wind from a distance whenever a bird chirps or the humans make their talk-sounds. I cannot undestand where it is coming from, what it is saying to me. I feel something as well, feel like....", he turned his head to the side, but failed to find the word to describe it, "I feel as if... I am with my old master. He had such a feel to him. An old shaman, of all the pups I remained with him. He was blind and very old... it was me he told the fate of the pack to and me he asked to flee and find a new master worthy of my loyalty and service."

Gaara would focus his jade mirages upon Rune, and nod slightly to him. He didn't quite understand it all--nor did the adolescent, it seemed, but it seemed to fall into a place in his mind that was familiar..why? Who knew. He parted his maw in slight through...he would usually say question Lexi on it, but he wouldn't want to make her worry, nor would he want to wake her. Gaara wasn't the best talker in the pack. "Voices.." He murmured, "That's..strange.." He paused, "It doesn't hurt you at all, does it?" If it did--then he'd have to get the adolescent some help. But, from the sound of it, it was more...annoying, or awkward, than anything.

"Harm? Oh.. no not that I know." His ears lowered and his head craned down to rest on the tufft of fur surrounding his neck. "Mentally... I cannot say. The sounds I hear, the voices... they are voices I know. The presence is so strange but distant." He took a deep breath, turning to face his alpha but was quick to lower his eyes to the ground, "Tell me... have I served you well thus far my master?"

Master? His expression became slightly--amazed. He blinked curiously at this, and would shift his paws, and press his tail closely to his body. "You've helped a lot...and you are a cherished part of this pack--" He assured, and smirked a bit. "Master is a strange word for..me." His tone was questioning, but his mood was light..unlike normal. He was calm from the silence and lack of stress.

Rune bowed his head a bit more, "Master is the word for a respected one... one that I am pledged to. You and your mate are my master and mistresses.... as my last master wished, I will pledge myself only to those worthy of what talents I can offer."

Gaara supressed the amusement that wanted to run over his features, and he nodded to the comments given to him. "I see," was his response, and he chuckled softly. "I would like to be able to help you find out what this is all about. But I haven't the slightest of what it could be...or where to start looking for an answer."

"I might." He lifted his head up a bit, his eyes still straying from those of his alpha, "I feel... as though I'm being drawn elsewhere." He turned his head slowly, looking over the lake, "My late master told me once... that whenever I was in need of guidence I should consult the spirits of our ancestors."

"And that would mean.." He was a bit...bothered by asking this. Did Rune want to leave the pack? Or just take a 'break' from pack life? It seemed that the wolf wasn't used to a pack life, besides the old shaman--which, from the sound of it, hadn't been much of a pack at all.

"Perhaps I should seek out the ancient ground." He lifted his head a bit, turning towards the forest where the pack had come from in their last long trip, "It is far from here, but I must ask guidence from their spirits. I cannot perform to my potential distracted so... and I am sorry, my master." He dipped his head a bit more, "But I can swear to return..."

Ah, the adolescent wanted to go on a journey. He would smirk a bit--remembering when he had done the same--not too long after he had left Feanaro's pack..and found Lexi again..after Loki had hurt him so deeply that he never thought he could let it go. And...to destroy that b*****d Hige...he snapped out of his thoughts, and nodded to Rune firmly. "Dont be sorry. I can understand how you feel," his smirk faded to a grin, "I can only wish you good luck. But, pleast stay for the hunt, so you can travel on a full stomach."

"A hunt... yes... yes if that is your wish." He looked back to the lake and took a deep breath, correcting his posture back into a proud upright stand. He didnt much like the idea of solitude once again, traveling in silence and with the danger of so many enemy packs about. "I...thank you."

He nodded to the smaller wolf, and would follow his gaze to where ever it had run to. He shook his head off a bit, and shifted his back paws. "You're strong. And I'm proud to have you in this pack. I trust you'll come back, and I only wish I could do more for you," he murmured just loud enough for Rune to hear, ears flicking forward slightly at the call of a few birds not too far off.

He winced, the voices hissed along with the calls of the birds. Words, but not clear ones. Much like wind in his ears while trying to listen to a distant whisper. "You have done more than I could ask for, master... I have a home and purpose again."

A strange wolf by all accounts- Rune was never one to aruge that very aspect of himself. From a pup, he had been a bit isolated from his family. His father had been the alpha of a fairly sucessful pack, his mother one of the prefirred females under his father and certainly the most talented of the huntresses. He'd not been the youngest or oldest. Exactally what number he came in during his birth among six other pups he never really cared to find out. Only first and last were 'marked' in their pack. During his youth, he'd been raised by the blind shaman of their pack. An elderly but still noble beast. He always seemed to have something troubling, him, looking off for hours on end before responding to any attempts to contact him. Rune alone had fled the pack after the Shaman's death- just as his old master has asked him.

Now once again he was forced to leave the side of a master. His new alpha- a magnificant and powerful beast. The largest wolf he'd ever seen in his young years and certainly one that promised a great pack with some work. His new pack had been insulted- their alpha lured into an enemy pack and ambushed. How discraceful...

However that was far from the reason Rune was on his own for the time. Recently, he'd been hearing things in his mind. Hissing sounds, distant whispers as if heard through a long tunnel during a storm. It came with headaches from confusion and led to much frusteration on his part. The answer, he felt, would be with his old master. The ancestrial burial grounds of his ancestors. A sacred place that promised the words of guidence he needed.

He moved quietly and at a causual pace, his head lifted up and his brilliant aqua eyes gleaming in the thin light that slipped through small gaps in the above forested canopy.

Ary Keeyara
Starla moved along through the forest, her body slinking along the ground. She was still shaken from the rainshower that had happened not long ago. She had been lucky this year it had been on the dry side, but that didn't mean the rain never came and her fear never surfaced. Sometimes she wished lived somewhere where there wasn't any, despite how rediculous that was.

She limped slightly, the wounds she had from her fight still lingering on her flesh. They made her constantly in a ill mood. But then, she was never in anything but a foul mood at this point. She had nothing to look forward too except the malcious killing she so wanted to do and this she could not accomplish as of now. Distracted and tired, she didn't bother to keep a look out of who was around in the same area as she.

The runed wolf paused, wrinkling his nose a bit at the scent of another...a wolf, young female- and wounded. He took a moment, drawing in longer, deeper breaths to make sure that his sense of smell hadn't gone nearly as insane as he felt his common sense had. Rotating an ear and turning his head very slowly he picked out the stranger's image from the trees. Another odd one... how bright she was- and striped none the less.

He stood still on his paws, turning to watch the female for a moment. She needed help... plain and simple. He moved towards her, forcing a smile to his lips, "Hello madam... might I... ask if you would accept some help? You look like you could need some."

Ary Keeyara
Starla's head turned slowly, her ears catching a voice who was apparently addressing her. Her gaze was glazed and cold as she directed it toward him, as though she didn't actually see him there. The fur upon her tail bristled slightly, but only lowered the expressive part of her body farther down. Where did he come from? A moment ago she had been alone...

"Help...with what?" Her voice was flat and had a slight edge, though it was hard to tell if that was directed toward him. To anyone she would seem shifty no matter what she did, so it was likely that was just her nature...but there was a sense of wrongness about her that could not be explained.

Rune smirked, lifting his head and ears up while his eyes narrowed to give him a very critical and almost mocking look to him. A paw raised and kind of motioned to her- implying her current state, "Why I do not know... but had I been something less friendly and more hungry I just might have been the end of you... I could smell your... ", he chose his words carefully, obviously this female wasn't in much of a pleasent mood, "...current state easily. Perhaps you should have those looked at- or at the very least cleaned out with water."

Ary Keeyara
User Image Ah, so he meant her wounds. Her nose wrinkled in annoyance and her light ears fell back. She didn't like the way he had put it...but then she probably wouldn't have liked any other way he would have said it either. She shifted, still uneasy and untrusting, as she always was, "And what would you plan on doing about my 'current state'?" Right after she said this, the washing part clicked in her mind and she took a few steps back, a shiver running through her body, "There is no way I'm going in the water!"

?A few moments of water are far better than a few weeks of infected wounds and the thick scent of injury...", he stated matter-of-factually, his tail flicking behind him as he approached the female, pausing a good distance from her but close enough to get a better look at he wounds, "Afterall... I hear that wolves get ambushed in these woods quite often... pups, alphas, it hardly matters to some. Not all wolves know such a thing as honor you know- and to a senseless barbaric beast like that you're quite the easy meal, miss."

Starla was tempted to growl at him. However, she did not want any trouble...she had to stay alive until she could get rid of her. He body tensed and she took another step back. Doing her best to keep her panic at bay, she swallowed hard. She could not be forced into the water in any way or form! "I don't care...I'm not going in the water...I'll be just fine," she grumbled, shifting slightly.

He shook his head a bit, "When I was young, I'd have been bitten for such a foolish statement. Infection, my dear, is something to be well away from. Keeping the cuts clean will help them heal faster- and reduce your chances of being scented." He sighed, almost casually, "Oh well... I suppose it really doesn't matter- bears are active this time of year. Getting as much food and all before their big sleep. I hear they're pretty aggressive... very good noses to. A pity really, to waste such an interstingly colored one such as yourself."

He shrugged and slowly began back on his way, smirking to himself.

The wolf moved slowly and causally down the side of one of the hills, his head lifted up and tail held relaxed behind him, swaying with his silky movements. His mind drifted as he made his trip across the rolling open land. The cool air was enough to relax him enough to allow his thoughts to stray, he could recall the trip to his new home. This terrain was much harder to cross as a pup. At that time there?d been a small herd of bison grazing. It was growing cold, they were probably moving on to warmer lands to raise the young that had been conceived during the spring. His pack had followed them- the young ones were good game once separated from the herd. One bison was able to feed his pack for at least a week.

His pack? probably gone. The old shaman had predicted their fates shortly before his death. Another more powerful pack would have invaded? if his visions were true.

The wolf paused mid-stride, wincing and lowering his head down as another series of hissing whispers rattled his mind, sending a stab of pain through his body. A snarl escaped his maw as the aqua blue eyes lifted up from the ground to search for the offender that could have caused the sound this time. Amongst the fog and dawn-grayed landscape only a few birds darted about. A pair of sparrow jumping from the trees to the ground below and pecking at the earth, going about their usual chatter. He watched them for a moment, taking longer, deeper breaths to compose himself.

Again a loud hiss and a stab of migraine overcame his senses, sending the wolf yelping back on his hind quarters. A loud howl of agony was given out to the sky. A hawk only screamed back from above him, sending another shooting blow of pain. The runed wolf fell forward to all four, the fur along the cuff of his neck rising upwards. Giving a snort he bolted away from the bird, the earth ripping up and tossing behind his tracks.

Breaking past the first line of trees the hissing only grew louder, sending shot surges of pain through his body. He turned towards the first wave of hissing, a chipmunk chattering to another on a branch, another- a crow cawing as it clapped its wings over its nest. ?CURSE YOU ALL!? He threw his head down, shaking it about in a futile attempt to rid his mind of the sounds. The horrid, horrid beasts, the sounds. It hadn?t been there before- why all the sudden? ?WHY!??

He bellowed again, surging forward blindly. Trees rushed by like shadowed figures in the swirling mists, the ground seemed distant under his paws, the cold air became hot as flame, and everything that seemed to be stable began nearly spinning in his conscious mind. With another loud howl the wolf fell forward, rolling into the trunk of a thick oak until he came to a silent stop. The only motion to be accounted for was the slow raising and falling of his sides.

User ImageFor hours the wolf had laid there, fallen on his side and panting from the pain surging from his head. Every chirp, every cry, every damn sound coming from another living creature had sent a wave of migrane and a horrid echoing hissing sound into the wolf. Frightened and angered by the sounds he had run in a panic in the early morning hours, blinded by the pain in his mind and clumsy due to panic and error- he had fallen over himself and rolled into a tree. There he slept in silent unconciousness since dawn. He'd be breathing strangely, as if he'd been running before falling dispite his having been there for hours. The indentations in the earth around him gave evidence to his fall but no scents or further clues gave into quite why.

Kamiki
After finding a fish, four different kinds of beetles, a leaf, and a star (don't ask) in the sky, Polaris got bored and wandered from where she was sitting. She didn't know where she was going, so, as always, she looked to the stars to guide her. Not watching where she was going, she nearly ran into a tree. Thankfully, she tripped over a wolf before she got there, so he was there to break her fall.

The silent and somewhat restful state of sleep was unfortunately shattered by the sudden addition of a she-wolf to the young adolecent's back. Giving both a startled yelp and an angry growl, the runed wolf squirmed about under the body that had fallen on him, clawing his way to his feet and whirling around to face whomever had dared to fall on him. Of course, considering the varoius other species that could have come upon his foolishly sleeping form he considered himself quite lucky. However, his alpha had warned him of... unpleasent wolves in the woods so his guard was not to be down.

Upon turning to face the female it felt as though all the blood in his body rushed to his paws, leaving his head terribly light and the surroundings swimming around him for the moment. It wasn't enough to send him asleep again but it was enough to have the young wolf sit down to find his head, "Ohrng......"

Knowing his pack had been killed... and actually seeing it were two different things. In knowing, he could be led to believe anything about the manner of their deaths. They might have been killed with honor, defending their lands bravely to the end, or some might have lived. There was hope in not actually seeing the proof, foolish hope. His siblings... they'd been killed running, not fighting bravely. His father had been likely outnumbered, and the others likely scattered after his father had been slain. They hadn't seen the attack coming... the fools.

Another deep breath filled the wolf's chest as he slowly got to his feet, his head lowered inbetween the large shoulders as he began to walk once again. The howling skulls of the dead chilled his wit, causing a grimmace to wrinkle his snout as he moved, his eyes burning with the threat of tears. "Farewell then... my family..."

He continued past them, stepping over a few of the dried corpses, his gut feeling nearly as heavy as if he had swallowed stones, a sicking feeling nearly crawling up his throat. To the east it was then... the hissing voice was all he had left to guide where he was going. The gravelands of his ancestors was indeed to the east but it had been so long since he'd come this way. The rock pass loomed above him, almost threatoningly so, taking on an orange glow in the morning light. Still cold... still crisp was the air, but thankfully the wind had become almost dead as those behind him thanks to the sheltering walls of the cliffs. It was more or less a small canyon, winding rocks that would sweep up high or dip down low, winding and weaving through miles of stone. He remembered a small stream that ran through, and would make it a point to stop there even if it meant a slight detour... his mouth and throat were dry from running and his body ached for the cold refreshing taste of water.

Licking his dry chops the wolf pressed on, where the crow had gone he really didn't know... he'd not paid it much mind in the first place. He knew for a fact that he'd have a few more days to walk- or run if he could get the strength to- before he'd see the end of the canyon and the start of the ancient burial grounds of his ancestors... of his old teacher. There he was sure he'd find the answers. Spirits above his paws ached, protesting each step and shooting a stab of stiffness up his legs into his shoulders and haunches.

"Just a bit more...", he growled, almost scolding his own body for it's weakness, "First water... then rest..."
