A thud was heard and the vibration was high. It seemed the vibration is reduced when the cut is deeper. He pulled his zampakuto out of the tree and looked at it. It was still well polished. The newly made cut was about half an inch while the other cut was around 8 inches deep. Tsai swung his blade at the tree again with both hands.
"How long have I been swinging my zampakuto against this tree?" he asked himself.

The tree looked like it was slightly waving to the left side where the cut was made. "It seems I'm making progress with it," he smiled and pulled out his zampakuto from the tree. "If the tree falls to the left, it should avoid getting wet," He held it tightly and swung at the tree again.

The last slash made some wood chip off. "Phew, I need to take a break" he said as he sat down and looked at the sun. He took a sip from his canteen and went to wash his face in the water near the waterfall. His muscles were starting to ache from overuse, "I should really go back and get an axe or something, but that'd take too long" he muttered to himself.
Tsai grasped his zampakuto again and stared at the tree. He rushed at it and slashed at the trunk, hoping to deliver more damage this way.

Another loud thud and a creak from the tree. Tsai looked up at it. He decided to climb up and cut off some of the branches for firewood for later on, just incase it got dark by the time the tree came down. He grabbed his zampakuto and slashed at one of the branches.

The branch fell with one slash. "Hmm, the tree is sure weaker at the top" Tsai said to himself as he watched the branch land on the floor. He moved onto the next branch (this tree only had 4 main branches), Tsai held his zampakuto high in the air and swung it down on the branch.

The same thing happened. The cherry tree was indeed weaker from the top. Tsai could save time by chopping the top first then work his way to the bottom. He proceeded to cutting the middle section of the tree. The branches he was cutting served as jumping stones for now. Tsai held his blade at his side and swung it at the tree to make a fresh cut on it.

It was indeed weaker than the bottom trunk. Tsai removed his zampakuto from the tree and prepared to hit the tree again. This was kind of like training, the tree was indeed strong, stronger than most hollow skins. Tsai's muscles were getting use to the repetitive movements of slashing. He swung his blade at the tree again.

The top of the tree was almost halfway about to fall. Tsai would have to make a wedge here. He now needed to make a diagonal cut at the tree to make a wedge. He aimed his zampakuto and swung his blade at it. "Maybe after this I should take a break" he said to himself as the blade was about to reach the tree.

The top of the cherry tree started to wave and sway from the sudden wind that was arriving. "One last slash and this part should fall" he said as he jumped over to the opposite branch. He aimed his slash carefully, then released all his gathered force into a slash at the opposite side of his newly made cut. This would cause the top part of the cherry tree to fall away from the water.

The tree started with swaying. It then started to learn and fall away from the waterfall. Just as Tsai had intended, now the wood was dry and would make a few nice dummies and wooden practice swords. He jumped down and looked at the large chunk of tree he had chopped off, but even without this part the cherry tree still was large.
Tsai dragged the large piece of lumber aside, he was going to cut it up and shape them into dummies later on. Right now he had to work on cutting the last part of the tree, the thick bottom trunk. He prepared for a slash at the already cut trunk. Although there was a large cut in the trunk, it stood pretty sturdily. Tsai slashed at the trunk horizontally using both his arm and wrist for power.
