The foal seemed impervious to any sort of sullen mood, his face plastered with the same grin he had started with.
"I like to do EVERYTHING," he announced grandly. "Swimming and running and wrestling and and and...." He took a moment to breath before nodded emphatically. "Mum says I'm a typical colt, if that means anything."

"Hrm, you sound like you keep yourself pretty busy," said Maverick. "I don't usually do that much. I tend to just walk around, watching other people do their own things." Oh, why was he telling that to Diallo? Now he will probably just think Maverick is some sort of freak. Maverick laughed lightly, as if to boost his own confidence in himself and not seem so akward to the foal.

"Well, you're old," he said with another nod to emphasis this, though he then narrowed his eyes, looked the other stallion up and down a moment, then corrected that with "older, anyway." He grinned, as though he didn't mean it to be a bad thing.
"You should play more. Do you have friends?"

Maverick froze. He felt that he should be honest, but at the same time, did not want to seem so strange to the foal. "Well, yes I am old...-er," said Maverick, taking a pause as he completed the word. "I do have friends, not that many. In fact, to be honest, I have very few friends. But I do consider you one of my friends even though he have only just met."
