Its all South Park's fault. But personally I really like Canadians 3nodding .
Lol, my friend was watching it on his PSP, and this is what I heard from across the room:
"What can you tell us about Canada?"
"Um......let me see ******** CANADA!"
xd

That's funny in a show and all, but when someone says that in real life, that's when I get pissed domokun .

3nodding But it isn't only Canada, sometimes is Mexico too but even as a Mexican I don't feel offended. As I say "As long as if was made to make people laugh more than it was to offend them its ok to me"

You know what? That is a very good attitude

Thanks surprised

@Note 1: Stop stalking my posts and then bitching about them. How are the guild members supposed to be comfortable with us when you don't even act down to earth when you talk to them. We have to let them know that they have someone to talk to in us if they need it. Try actually talking to the newer members a bit, to help them ease in.

@Note 2: You don't just go around deleting comments that you don't like on view. You warn the person PERSONALLY after they have made the comment, not before.

I know this is the knowledge forum and all but no one posts in the sub-forums that often, so I just posted a quick answer and smiley face here.

Short answer: We have become the world police since WWII and we sit in the spotlight, when we mess up it matters most because we are the police. Kind of like if a police officer murdered someone it would be all over the news the next day, but if a thug murders someone its just a [oh whatever], because the thug has no name to live up to.. and of course the thug would be hostile countries like North Korea, the Police would be the protectors primarily America and following up with Great Britian and until the late 20th century France. As for the rest of the countries, they would be the Middle-class male or female, no one expects them to do anything and so no one really watchs them; they usually dont make big mistakes because they arent charged with big responsibility.

But if the thug was black it would be all over the news. Everyone sterotypes everyone, it's what we as humans do. Stereotypes are usually biased towards how you feel about a certain culture/topic.

I personally think Canadians are quite honorably better than Americans. They have a lower crime/death rate, their medicare is free. Numerous things stick out about how much more their government is more concerned about the citizen's well being. Ours is just money hungry. Our government has control over the inflation of our gas prices, as it went down a dollar within weeks. Do you know why? Because it's holiday season, and high gas prices threatened the seasonal increase in gas consumption.

It's not just Americans stereotyping Canadians.

a) the Canadian government was recently found stealing money from the Canadian people, due to Canadians voting in the same party for 25 years straight.

b) another big reason the gas prices went down was because of the elections, if the gas prices are low people think the country is doing good and vote for those currently in office.

and finally stereotypes yeah they are, but stereotypes or atleast generalizations are neccessary to exist in modern society, its kind of like a firewall people put up to protect themselves.. sure you could go without a firewall but then if you did run into what people would usually generalize and now how to fend off then you will be inequipped to fend off the danger, ultimate leading to your demise quicker. Of course stereotypes are bad most of the time because it causes people to exiled from the public for something so stupid it makes your cringe, like when AIDs was first discovered everyone who had AID's were considered highly contagious and dangerous, so they pushed those with AID's away from them.

As for free medicare we have similar things, a lot of states give free medicare if you dont have the budget for it and when you've been working for 40 years you get medicade, the rest of the people either can afford it, dont want it, are to stupid to know how to get it or are given it by their work... A problem with entirely free medicare from the government is the cost issues, and a lot of people may not want to pay extra tax's simply to have some insurance they never use. For instance I never need to go to the doctor so I personally find it a waste of money, I would much rather take the money I would spend on my health insurance and put it into the bank until something comes up razz that way I get interest and if nothing ever does come up then I dont need it... but it doesnt matter for me, because my job offers free medical at a 500,000 yearly budget for the whole company.

Thats just my opinion though.

Canadians don't engage in hero / celebrity worship.

Canadians are resentful towards successful people.

I like that one, considering that Canadians are neither of them... Canadians are exactly like Americans when it comes to celebrity worship, they are totally obsessed with rap and hip-hop and pop, they lust after their artistic figures [like Avril Lavigne and Sum 41]... they are almost identicle to Americans when it comes to Celebrity idolism, more like Americans than any other country. I also find it funny that North America and parts of Latin America are basically the only countries to widely accept rap, we can thank MTV for that.

Have you read Through The One-Way Mirror by Margaret Atwood?

It describes the Canadians' feelings towards the US and the rest of the world. You may find your answer in there.

So ALL of Canada feels a single way about Americans? I don't like that Author one bit.
Speaking in generalizationsis always a negative sign.

Though I haven't read the book, so just consider this to be my opinion based of your post.

Canada is not one person. It is one country. That one country is made up of millions of people. There is no possible way in hell that millions of people can have the same opinion towards something else; or just the same opinion for that matter.
