I sometimes wanna say the J4J's arent jews when I see them trying to get my fellow jewish friends to accept christ... confused
J4J's confuse me. I thought for a long time about being J4J considering I was raised kind of Christian. Of course, my parents never attended church or anything, therefore my relationship with God, was with God. I quickly decided against J4J considering Jesus never had a huge impact in my life. *Shrug*
What I don't understand is why some of them are so...forceful on other Jews about their beliefs.

We always said "the difference between messianic and J4J is J4Js make more noise."
Haha! I see now.

That would drive me crazy if someone was always trying to get my to believe something I didn't. confused

Let it be known that I am not here to 'convert' anyone or speak bad of whatever form of Judaism anyone wishes to follow. Now concerning Messianic Jews and 'J4J'
Well 1st let me say that in sense Christianity is Jewish. Christians claim to worship the G-d of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Christians use the Tanach, which many of them refer to sadly as the Old Testament. I tell them that there is nothing 'Old' about Tanach, it is the Living Breathing Word of G-d. Judah Arieh's, "Sefat Emet" says "His revelation is continuous. New aspects of the Torah unfold constantly. The more we study it, the more it expands."
There is a difference between J4J's and Messianics.................J4J's are protestant christians; they worship on sundays, do not keep kosher, and celebrate "Christian" holidays such as Easter and Christmas.

Messianic Jews, such as myself keep Shabbat, have Erev Shabbat and Torah Services, recite the Shema and read from their own Siddur. They celebrate all the Feasts of the Tanach. Messianics have bar/bat mitzvahs and bris their sons.

They still believe in christ, so doesnt that make them christians? neutral

I dont mean to be rude, but I am very confused by both J4J's and "Messianic Jews".

not saying you're converting anyone, and we thank you for that. ::huggle::

christians aren't jewish, they are nothing like jews. the only thing they have in common is the old testament as they call it tanahk as you call it. Jews are ... more classy.. and i like it.. ::huggles judaism and gives her a yummy cookie::

don't lump her in with christianity. sad she's prettier 4laugh she's got a kippah 4laugh

I still don't get how you can be jewish and believe in jesus christ? Explain it to me. >.> ^.^ yay you keep shabbath ::gives you a cookie:: better than me.

It doesn't make them christian to believe in jesus, just.. they live in the grey area... or pink maybe sky blue or soft green or perhaps a peachey zone. you know what i mean.

Guys, it appears to me that this is deteriorating into a discussion of J4J/Messianics that is going to offend someone. I understand that there is some argument over whether or not messianics count as Jewish or not, but it strictly needs to be taken on a case-by-case basis.

Someone is about to get offended if this continues. Yevs, Donovinhs, please continue your conversation via PM if you must. If this thread continues to go downhill, I'll use my power as crew and lock it.

Understood?

Understood, but it makes it hard to have a discussion if every moment you have to watch your words and subject matter just because it might offend someone.

you know they are jews, just a different type.

I think that maybe this should be one of them. Jews hate jews soo much it's scary. We have enough people hating us already, we should just band together put asside our difference and just focus on the one goal we have incommon. Helping eachother and making one anothers life a little bit easier. I know that if you're othodox like me, you think everything has to be in line and controlled, but things can't always be that way. Things hav to adapt and change. Judaism is the oldest religion (monothesitic at least) around we can't let differences kill us now, we've been adapting for over 5,000 years. So maybe there are people whom most certainly are not jewish, but maybe there are others whom are just as jewish as you.. and welll dark pheonix (saying as I really am not jewish) but they are just jewish a different way. Kind of like I'm a girl and so is silverah only she's a better speller and drama girl than me, but maybe I can .... :thinks: Take better photos and have a .. I can do matrixes like the back of my hand. sooo we're both girls but we're just different. soo in a way I hope that helps this situation. And I'm sorry for what I said.

To Knight: I'm sorry, but that is part of Internet discussion. Everything you say can have severe consequences, and I know it's annoying, but it's part of life

Yvette: err....What did I do? Sorry sweatdrop

Silverah: Thanks for your post. 3nodding
